Perfect! What a great atmosphere, service was to the T's and the filet was cooked to perfection. Top quality cut with no added flavoring needed, just a great steak! Every entree we watched come out had us planning our next meal we were going to order on our return visit. Highly recommend this establishment! Thanks Joe! Returned a few days later for supper and it just got better. The Pork chop was perfect!

This place is so nice inside, it’s cozy but elegant. The dim lighting in here is also a nice touch along with the light fixtures. Truly a nice environment to enjoy some drinks in. They have a wide variety of beverages, liquors & wine. Tried a few different cocktails all were made wonderfully. Split a few appetizers with the group and they were all delicious. Everything was a hit here, from the service to the food and drinks.

Stopped by after visiting a local park in the area with my boyfriend! This place is seriously a gem. Hugo, the bartender, was incredibly personable, attentive and kind. The Halloween / fall decor / lighting was also something that we enjoyed!! The bar, bathrooms, etc were extremely clean, great atmosphere, and incredibly kind staff! Hugo and John were beyond awesome. The food and drinks were outstanding. We loved the spinach and artichoke dip! Hugo makes the best old fashions! Will be visiting when we are back in the area again without a doubt!

We love this neighborhood gem! The food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly. We’ve dined in for lunch, dinner, Happy Hour specials and also attended an event hosted on the rooftop patio, and we loved every visit. The event was fantastic, in large part because of the wonderful environment and the generous hospitality of the owners and the staff. Will return again and again! Thank you, Tavern on the Point!

A great overall dining experience. All the dishes were hot, as described on menu, and tasty. Our server, Christina, deserves a shout out as she was knowledgeable, attentive, and fun!

Our service was exceptional tonight. I've had this place on my list of places to try for a long time and it did not disappoint. I'm so glad we finally had the chance to try it. I ordered the point chicken which was delicious. My husband ordered the short rib over gnocchi and I liked that just a smidge more so I think I would have enjoyed anything on the menu. It wasn't just our waitstaff that was great, it was every employee working that seemed to go above and beyond. I will definitely recommend and we will 100% be back.

We had a fundraiser last night at Tavern. From the owner, to the event coordinator, bartenders, waiters, and manager: everyone was extremely hospitable and lovely. The food and service were great. We were cordoned off on the second floor, with access to both the inside and the patio; which made the ambiance for our event just right. Thank you Tavern for a seamless night of fun, great food and drinks!

Tavern on the Point is a great neighborhood spot for a date night, celebration, brunch, or to simply share a meal with family! We decided to celebrate our anniversary there, it being close to home and knowing they have delicious food. It did not disappoint! My wife is a sucker for a good vodka sauce pasta and this one was so delightfully creamy and flavorful! She added the chicken, but if she were to order again, she’d probably try it with the blackened chicken to give it extra flavor as the regular chicken did seem a bit bland. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan which was a great portion size and the chicken was very well seasoned. The star of the night however, was the fried calamari! We were a bit weary at first of the sweet chili glaze it was tossed in since we are calamari purists, but it was such a delicious surprise! The flavors from the glaze along with the paired house made sriracha-aioli was such a treat for our tastebuds. We ended the night with a cookie skillet that was on the house in honor of our anniversary. Such a sweet and unexpected surprise! If you are looking for food and service that is ON POINT, then look no further than Tavern on the Point! 😉

Yelp
Talk about a hidden gem! So happy I found this place! Stopped by during the week. We sat outside as the night was beautiful! They had the cubs game on which was an added treat!! I got their Smell as Sweet drink, it was the perfect summer "girl" drink! For dinner I had the Rigatoni chicken Pesto! SO delicious!! Our server was great! Super friendly and gave us great drink recommendations!

Yelp
Stopped in at the Edison Park spot for dinner the other night. Sat at the bar and the bartender greeted me quickly and with a smile. The old fashioned was solid but unfortunately the best part of the night. I ordered the Asiago Chicken Milanese and it was under seasoned and over cooked. The tomato cucumber salad on top was fresh and tasty. I ordered the filet sliders to take home for my wife and again under seasoned. It was a clean inviting interior and would be back but maybe stick to burgers and wings.

Yelp
Tavern on the Point Edison Park's hidden gem and first rooftop outdoor space! Soak up the sun or relax in the shade of the umbrellas on the rooftop at Tavern on the Point. Where the menu has something for everyone and the food will have you planning your next visit as soon as you leave! Ordered: Carrot Cake French Toast - This dish was super fun and delicious. The French toast was cooked perfectly. Topped off with creamy vanilla frosting and sprinkled with crunchy, crispy carrot pieces. This dish is perfect for carrot cake lovers or for any French toast fan! The maple syrup on top was the perfect addition and an obvious necessity in any French toast dish. Monte Cristo - This sandwich was gourmet. It didn't even need jam because it included a side of maple syrup. Would definitely order this sandwich again! Hibiscus Refresher - This drink was fruity, refreshing, and filled with whole blueberries. Plus, I'm a sucker for anything hibiscus! Diet Coke Avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago by visiting Tavern on the Point! From the friendly service to the vibe-filled indoor and outdoor spaces, the @tavernpointchi should be at the top of your list of spots to visit this summer!

Yelp
Had an opportunity to visit here for a private event and enjoyed my time at the space. In the upstairs area, there is room to fit up to 50 people with restrooms and a patio area adjacent to the bar. I found this to be a good setup with enough space to wander around and the noise level being fairly reasonable for the number of people in the space. I also had a chance to try many different items such as the Caesar Salad, Sliders, Chicken Fingers, Fries, Waffle fries, and more. Overall I found the food to be pretty similar to the more upscale options I've tried with a good level of execution. Items didn't feel too greasy and were seasoned appropriately.

Yelp
Sat at the bar for the happy hour deals and enjoyed the delicious spinach artichoke dip. Alyssa was a smiley great bartender. She was attentive to all the folks sitting at the bar as well as a couple gentleman sitting in a booth. It's a wonderful airy n sunny bar..I can only imagine how busy it must be when the patio out front or rooftop patio is open! Will be back for the burger deal on Monday. It's a double patty.

Yelp
This is a review for their private events. I haven't been there as a regular restaurant patron (yet). I attended Mr. P's high school reunion in their upstairs space. The staff was phenomenal. We arrived about 10 minutes before the event began, so I was privy to hearing the staff game plan about the upcoming party. It was nice to hear them talking through everything, not just waiting for the event to start and then winging it. They asked the host when to set out the food and it was set out right on time. They were sufficiently staffed on bartenders and servers so there were only brief waits for drinks and servers floated around the event getting needed items and tidying up used dishes. Everything stayed clean despite the crush of people. The food was unbelievable. I would have considered it excellent if it was served to me as an individual diner. To get it in bulk from a buffet and still have that quality was top notch. The pasta and meatballs were delicious. The beef sliders were a bit dry but easily remedied by dunking them in the pasta sauce or marinara. The facility was lovely as well We briefly saw the downstairs as we left and it looked cool. We were upstairs, accessible through a narrow stairway (and I assume an elevator?) The lighting is dimmer, but not dark, with high top tables and a nice bar. The second floor outdoor patio is great, with lots of tables and a small area with couches.

Yelp
Great ambience-- great cocktails. Some of the food seemed unconventional as of a new chef was sorta guessing how to put some of the sandwiches together mayo with smoked salmon? Lobster roll tasted more like tuna . Other food was quite good

Yelp
Fried calamari, kale & avocado salad w/ chicken, grouper sandwich, & southwest chicken sandwich dishes were amazing along with their spacious rooftop being the perfect place to have a lunch during this beautiful chicago weather the food was delicious and we couldn't have asked for a better lunch ! The service was so sweet and the fact that we sat outside on the rooftop was beautiful
google avatar

Linda E.

Yelp
What a cute place to spend for brunch. We sat on the rooftop on a beautiful sunny day. It was a little hot but we were shaded so it was nice. I have egg allergies so I had the smoked salmon. It was delicious!!! Great service and such a lovely place.
google avatar

Yelp
Very disappointing. They clearly are more concerned with throwing their own party. Do not order the fish tacos. Avoid.

Yelp
I left a review almost a year ago with 4 stars. There were some small things I didn't like. Wanted to update and change it, but couldn't find it. So- here we are again! This time 5 stars going to Tavern on the Point! Food is perfect as the last time! Service is even more than great! Jordy was our server and I want to prise that girl! She is really nice, friendly, dedicated to work and pleasant person! We didn't make a reservation, but since it wasn't busy we asked to be sited outside, and we were. Atmosphere was good too. And, not to forget to mention that we got 2 appetisers FREE! Don't remember what was a deal today, but we got 2 free appetisers:-D. All in all- no mistake this time! Place is definitely great and everyone should give it a try! Rooftop is for sure the best addition to this place!

Yelp
Love this place! Went here for a date. Spacious! Clean modern. Apps were good. Drinks and service were all on point. Will def be back

Yelp
Great EP place to meet family an friends.. The two brothers that own it are friendly an oversee the day to day operations. Both John a Joe stopped by our table an introduced themself an to see if my party needed anything an even bought us a round of cocktails. For sure we will be going again an again.

Yelp
Stopped in for an early-ish Wednesday night dinner. There were good menu options (fish, comfort food, sandwiches, pasta and steaks) and plenty of appetizer choices. Our server Diego was on point with the Old Fashioned recommendation. My wife and I shared a 22-oz. ribeye, which had a great char.

Marion Wells ..

Yelp
Great food and incredible ambiance. The rooftop is amazing in the summertime, great view and great vibes
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent bartenders and the food was fabulous. I had the bacon wrapped jalapeños and wings. They were excellent! The beer was ice cold and served in frosty glasses. I'll be back!
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
Been here twice soon to be thrice. First time we sat on the rooftop patio. We got unlimited mimosas and loved whoever the live DJ was! Second time showed up to meet a friend and got to do a free Woodford tasting which was awesome! From what I understand there's always something go there. And with nice weather around the corner I'll see ya there! Great place! Question for the owners, what days do you typically have live music?
google avatar

Shary E.

Yelp
Food is very good, as are the cocktails. Not a bad wine selection either. I had a salad and a cheeseburger (on different visits) and they were both good. French fries were also done well (I like them extra crispy) and they listened and accommodated my request. Also they worked with my Gluten Free status. Bartender and waitstaff were very nice.
google avatar

Enxhi B.

Yelp
Food: 5/6 of us really enjoyed our meals. The 1 person that got seafood did not really enjoy his. The rest of us got pasta or steak and all was good there. Appetizers were good too. We got chicken wings, pizza and fried calamari. Drinks: cocktails were very good, no complaints there. Only issue is some items were not available and it would have been nice if they told us from the beginning, as the wait was super long to finally get drinks due to many being unavailable or being given a cheaper substitute without asking us first. I would give 4/5 stars for food & drinks. The service was inconveniently slow in the beginning and felt like there was some lack of transparency. We waited over 20 mins to get our first round of drinks. If these issues didn't occur I would have been more inclined to give 4 stars.

Yelp
Well the prices are okay and great service and a very clean place and the roof top is phenomenal

Yelp
A friend recommended this place for lunch and, after meeting her there, I agree that it's good. The bar had a slight, welcoming beer smell as soon as I walked in, which I appreciate. There is outside seating that looks nice, but we had to sit inside because of the unpleasant weather. As brunch was still being served (until 15:00), I ordered the Denver omelette and my friend had the crepes. The omelette was good, although not the best I have ever had. The server, who was very attentive, brought me cake because she saw that my friend brought me a gift bag that said "happy birthday." I'm normally not a cake person, but she brought it so had to try it. She called it a cannoli cake or something and it was good, not too sweet. I plan to come back here, mostly because I like the service and the atmosphere. It's a good place to have some food and get a couple of beers on a Saturday.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I would recommend all to try it out! Very attentive staff, and the owner says hello when you walk in.

Lorrie H.

Yelp
We enjoyed our experience at Tavern on the Point The service was exceptional, food was all very good Our only complaint, as other reviewers mentioned, was the very loud music We were there around 6:30, but the music was so loud we were almost screaming across the table The rooftop was closed for a private party, so we were not able to check it out.
google avatar

Bob K.

Yelp
Great location, great place and great food! The owners of this establishment are from the city (Local) and greet everyone as if they were a part of their extended family. Food is great! Service is awesome, family friendly and also very trendy. So weather your looking for a sports bar with friends, place for family dinner or date night this place is on point! Sorry no pictures of food this visit - phone died! Gives me an excuse to go back

Emily M.

Yelp
Went here for an early evening dinner with family. Thought I was walking into a lux restaurant from all the hype. It looks like a night club when the lights come on. Service was sub par food was sub par. So much potential but misses the vibe check.
google avatar

Paula T.

Yelp
Service is nice and fast. However, this is a standard burger joint with steakhouse prices. Nothing spectacular about the food just average. The prices explained why it was half empty on a Friday night. I guess restaurants don't like to increase revenue having normal pricing. 30$ for a fish filet with no sides is highway robbery. The fried cod was so greasy I couldn't get more than a few bites in.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
I've been here a few times. For the special brunch like Mother's Day or for the frozen themed days. Overall the food is good and the service was fine. However, the last time I went on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty empty. The service was awful. We had my one year old with us and she was losing her mind befit took over an hour to get our food. Because it was empty, I didn't see the reason for the poor service. The food was good, but nothing special (or maybe I was tainted by the poor service) I asked for a to go box and after waiting 10 minutes (sadly this isn't even an exaggeration) we left, and left our leftovers there as well.
google avatar

Sam H.

Yelp
Great spot for a casual drink with friends and family. They have a nice 2nd floor patio and a 1st floor patio. The bathrooms are always clean.

Pat R.

Yelp
If you are looking for a beautiful and helpful venue, this is it! We had our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner here last month and couldn't have been more pleased. We worked with John and Mary Pat and they couldn't have been more sincerely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We know nothing about throwing parties from the food to the decorations and that is exactly Mary Pat's area of expertise. We live in the area and wanted to support a local business. Well, this is the place to go! We had the upstairs party room with the outdoor patio and it turned out to be a beautiful night especially with all the outdoor lighting. The food was served buffet style but didn't stay too warm unfortunately. We brought in a cake and they sliced and served it. The bartenders were gracious and efficient and they carefully bagged the remaining food for us. Thank you John and Mary Pat for making a special night even more meaningful! Looking forward to dining there soon!

Yelp
I had no idea there were a stretch of bars and restaurants along Northwest Highway in the Park Ridge area. We had to be in the area so we combed through the options on where to go so we chose TOTP. The ambience is very cool and hip and this is a place to definitely have a drink and chill. However based on my table's 3 food options, not sure I would have a meal here - maybe an app but that's it. I chose their Fried Blackened Grouper Sandwich which was in all honesty meh. I've had Grouper - Blackened Grouper many times before and this did not taste fresh but more of a frozen taste to it. The accompanying fresh cut fries were a nice touch. The rest of the table had a Lobster Roll which seemed to be drenched in Old Bay seasoning almost to the point of hiding the fact the Lobster was not fresh at all. Yes, the lobster was not fresh. The other entree was a Bacon Cheeseburger which was good and again the fries that came with was good. There is metered parking around there and there is a patio in front and some sort of rooftop deck. We didn't get to check out the rooftop deck as it was rainy that night. Again if we come back, drinks only here.

Yelp
Great food, great service, great staff! They host so many cute events for families and are just a great local spot.

Jacob A.

Yelp
Delicious food. Loved the breaded gelato. I really enjoyed eating outside on a beautiful day.

S M.

Yelp
Tavern on the Point graciously hosted our Memorial luncheon and we could not have been happier with the outcome. Everyone raved about the food which was delicious. The service was spectacular! They accommodated our needs and went out of their way to make sure everything went well. We highly recommend TotP to anyone looking for a party venue for any occasion. Special thanks to Kasia and Mary Pat for assistance with planning the luncheon and the great service of Joe,Jasemia, and Anthony. Thank you Tavern!

Yelp
Since my last review, I have come here a couple more times and my experiences warrant an extra star. It's still not my all time favorite place and I do think it's too expensive for what you get, but they honestly have really good cedar planked salmon and grouper sandwich. The salmon is pretty big and fresh, and the grouper sandwich is very flavorful. Sadly, one thing I did try and hated was the calamari. I LOVE calamari, but they put a sweet chili glaze on top of it and I thought it absolutely ruined the taste of the seafood for me because it overpowered it and made the breading way too sticky and sweet. Therefore, I will never be back for that particular appetizer, but if I do order it again, I will not get the gross sauce on top.
google avatar

Zad D.

Yelp
Came with colleagues. Not only did my order not come until all my other colleagues had finished but it was the wrong order. Seems like a little better attention to details might be in order. My colleagues seemed to enjoy their food though. The waiter was gracious but this isn't a mistake that a well run restaurant should make. THEN, i order chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and wouldn't ya know they brought me chocolate ice cream. Sorry but this place is a tad bit of a mild shit show. Photo is the absence of a meal and some yummy cheese lol
google avatar

Yelp
I came here with a friend on a Friday night after making a reservation on Opentable. Based on the availability of tables, you would've thought the place would be empty. Instead, it was packed and they had cancelled our reservation without notifying us. It turns out they had done the same thing to a party of 6. If there is not availability, that should be reflected on Opentable, rather than having people show up to a cancelled reservation. Both my friend and I and the party of 6 ended up sitting at the bar, which was not what anyone had planned. The service and food were good, but everything is pricey and after the initial experience we had, it's safe to say we won't be back.

Kristi H.

Yelp
We had a private event last night and it was fantastic! Food was great and the staff was well over a 5 star review. Diego the bartender was quick, friendly, accommodating and super friendly. Bob literally took charge and packed up all our food and decorations. He even help load our truck.

Liz D.

Yelp
TURN YOUR MUSIC DOWN. We didn't think tavern on the point was a full on rave. We moved from closer to downtown where we lived near tons of bars ave restaurants and never experienced a noise level and base level like this. This does not improve your attraction. It's unnecessary to be this loud and it deters people from wanting to go there. Make it loud but NOT THIS OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD.

Peter V.

Yelp
Too bad they don't have buy 2, get 1 free! Our waitress was outstanding, but the food was just a little better! Great place, excellent menu choices, unfortunately one item we wanted was sold out. Absolutely worth a visit, and we'll be back, when we're back in town from Michigan.
google avatar

Yelp
They gave us free fries and were super super friendly :) def going again the drinks were good too

Yelp
What a gem. Food is spectacular. Staff is friendly and attentive Great vibe. Great daily specials. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Always a good time. This tavern with excellent food fits the bill for just about whatever you need. From lunch to dinner to late night eats and drinks. Food, service and ambiance are all great at Tavern on the Point.
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
Good service. Great atmosphere and food. The grilled cheese with short rib is more like a short rib sandwich with cheese. But that's was fine because the short rib was amazing! The only thing that would have made our meal better is if the side of ranch was homemade (that's always one of the best parts of eating out!). :)
google avatar

Dan B.

Yelp
I like this place. They have a lot of special activities from trivia night to bingo to live entertainment. Wonderful rooftop outdoor space. You'll have a very nice lunch or dinner at Tavern on the Point.

Constance A.

Yelp
We stopped here for drinks and appetizers after attending a memorial service. Staff was attentive and drinks and food were good. We are not Chicago residents and we were unfamiliar with this neighborhood. But i found this place on Yelp and spent a few hours here catching up with friends in this pleasant bar/restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. It was a cute neighborhood hang out.

Nate J.

Yelp
Had not been here before and it was fine, but odd. Seated fairly quickly, pleasant staff, clean, no complaints there. I ordered a burger with fries, my wife ordered a chicken sandwich with fries, both fine. On to the oddities. The fries were not seasoned at all (salt, but nothing else), no ketchup was offered or provided until asked for specifically... which is fine, but odd. It's called a tavern, but there are very few beers on tap... again, fine, but odd. I wasn't asked how my burger should be cooked (medium, medium rare, etc) and it had no sauce (mayo, ketchup, bbq, anything). We ordered diet cokes, but it needed to be "fixed" (think they forgot to bring them). The nachos said "cheddar cheese", but it was clearly cheese sauce (the Irish nachos said cheese sauce, the traditional said cheddar). Nothing bad, food tasted fine, but it was just... weird. Felt like everything was just a little short of what I expected.

Phillip W.

Yelp
First time for us at Tavern on the Point and certainly will not be the last. The inside had a warm ambience/good vibes, and our server Alyssa was extremely attentive and very friendly. Our food came out perfect. My skirt steak tasted delicious, while my wife really enjoyed their salmon. Overall a true neighborhood gem with fantastic service and equally as good food. We definitely plan to keep this place high on our rotation.
