Taverna del Grappolo Blu

"Accessed via a steep, narrow flight of steps, this restaurant boasts a traditional and friendly ambience. The cuisine is traditionally Tuscan (pici pasta with ragu and tripe are among the most popular dishes on the menu), while the interesting wine list includes a selection of Brunello wines arranged by year, as well as some top-quality vintage options which will delight wine-enthusiasts. The owner oversees the informal yet attentive service." - Michelin Inspector

Delicious food for a small price. You pay a very fair price for the extravagance u get with this restaurant which is recommended by Michelin. I want to point out the rabbit especially because it was very delicious. You have to eat at least the two main dishes however to please your hunger. The portions are not that large.

Amazing place : the food is absolutely gorgeous ! The pasta with mushrooms are excellent. The view from outside is stunning and so peaceful (note that the coberto is charged 2 euros more for this but it is worth it), overall the price paid is a good value froe money when considering the excellent food and the point of view! We recommend !

We had a lovely lunch at the Grappolo Blu. We had the pici al ragù and the tagliatelle with the duck sauce and both were just perfect. To finish we had the melted pecorino cheese with honey - what a perfect way to finish a meal! To top it all, the service was kind and friendly and we really enjoyed our meal there.

This is a Michelin one star and that’s why I decided to try. It was a very nice environment in Montalcino old town and I was not disappointed overall as experience. Waiter and owner very nice and friendly. Local food very authentic with good wine selection, price affordable. All was good. Perfect choice for a romantic walk around the old town to digest, just watch the tripod stairs on the hill. Seems here to be back in the middle age time. If you stop in this town, you this is not a bad experience

Local vibe to the core. Food is not overcomplicated, one could say it's simple, but it's just very good. And considering how cheap that was? Highly recommend.

The pasta was delicious but on the skinny side for the price. Service is a bit arrogant and dry. Place is simple , rustic and dark. Not sure it’s a place I will return again. Another one that’s recommended by Rick Steve that disappoints! I am beginning to have doubt with his taste. I find Fodor more reliable on food but Rick Steve is great on sight seeing and local tips!

We arrived right when they opened and thankfully snagged a table. The food was delicious, and the wine was lovely. A great find!

The staff was arrogant, rude and not welcoming. Antipasti of bruscceta al pomodoro was a joke (3 pieces served, only 2 had tomatoes), aperol spritz was dead like a Dead Sea. Not sure what the Michelin star is for there…
