Tonight was my second time coming to Tavi. The first time was back in August, the food was delicious. I got the shrimp dumplings and the salmon. The service was very slow, but I didn’t bother saying anything because they were quite busy. After waiting an unnecessary amount of time for our waitress to take our entree orders, she made an unusual comment saying “I was expecting you to just order appetizers.” We only ordered a plate of hummus and shrimp dumplings, which made me think that she might have said that because we were younger. I found it very unprofessional, especially considering the fact that it was an “upscale” restaurant, and our total came out to $150… I let it go because of how amazing the food was.
Tonight I came with my friends, after recommending it because of how great my food was previously. The service was extremely slow, our waitress Kayla (who I’m almost positive was my waitress the last time) had zero personality and didn’t pay us much attention. We received two pieces of pita for a table of four, and waited 15 minutes for more. I ordered the same thing I did the last time. It lacked flavor, was lukewarm, and did not come with sauce like it did the last time. I asked Kayla if they had changed the salmon, and she told me no. I explained to her that the last time I came the entire dish was in a sauce (which I have a picture of), and that this one lacked the same flavor. All she said was “I’m sorry about that,” and walked away. I wasn’t expecting a refund, but I was expecting for at least some more courtesy considering I am a returning customer and was dissatisfied with my food. I’ve never had service this bad at any restaurant, especially one with a pricey menu. Good service is a necessity when it comes to a restaurant like this, and Kayla did not display that in any way.
