This place suffers the same drawbacks that many modern restaurants do: over priced menu with the justification of "it's the experience you pay for." Though the table service was good, there are some issues that were present: 1. You might have to research the food options. 2. Seating is uncomfortable, particularly among the bench. 3. Poor layout design. If you're on the bench, you have people facing your back eating and their crumbs/liquids will fall on your backside and in your hair. 4. It's incredibly loud. This is the type of establishment meant for group interactions, not date nights. This is further validated by the fact that you can't buy wine by the glass, only the bottle. 5. The employees are glued to their phones every time they have a second. I counted 6 different individuals who repeatedly would glance at their devices in between interactions or while doing something. 6. Despite a lovely drink menu, the bartenders could use some more training on perfecting their recipes. My fancy drink tasted like straight liquor and nothing more. 7. The food was okay. Despite a nice presentation, there are a plethora of Italian restaurants within a 30 min drive that all provide better taste, portion and pricing. Lastly, THE ENTIRE PLACE STUNK OF MILDEW/ LIKE A WET RAG THAT WAS USED TO CLEAN REPEATEDLY WITHOUT BEING WASHED IN BETWEEN. At a glance it's great but at the pricing and experience they strive to provide, they fall short of their intended target and it's quite evident when you look at the finer details.

I was beyond impressed with Tavolata! My husband and I were in town and this was perfect for our date night. The mood was lively and the food was incredible! The flavor was unique and desirable. The focaccia and the romain spiced salad are a must in additional to the yummy pasta and gnocchi dishes. Also really appreciated the service.

First time! So excited to finally try this place! Whenever I walk by it looks so cute and lively inside. It was a very quiet Sunday evening for dinner. We were seated immediately, and our waitress was attentive. She was training a second waitress, who was a little abrasive. Then they would each pop over to our table separately, but asking the same questions. Had we ordered drinks. Had we ordered mains....seems like they might have discussed a game plan on how to handle the tables. I totally understand training tho, so not a huge deal! The food was GREAT. We started with the recommended Focaccia and the olive plate. YUM to both. A generous serving of olives and the whipped spread that came with the bread was amazing. I ordered the Rigatoni. It includes the spicy sausage and about 2.4 lbs of cheese on top. YUM. The pork spicy sausage I thought was perfect, tho my mom thought it was a little too hot. We shared the beet salad, it was beautiful. I would pop in here again! It's more casual than I originally thought it was and totally approachable. The wine list starts on the more expensive side tho. I ordered a Pisco Sour and it was amazing! The music playlist was TERRIBLE, and kind of altered how we felt about our time in the restaurant and our meal. It ranged from Green Day, to ZZ Top, to Kid Rock, to Blink 182 (haha?! what?!?!) it was freakin' weird for an "upscale" italian restaurant. I am docking a star for the distasteful music choices.

My wife does a lot of research before we visit a city. This was high on the pre-trip/researched list. Plus, she knows I love Italian food. During our random, spontaneous Labor Day trip to Boise, this was definitely one of the highlights. We knew we had the right place the night before, when we tried to get into happy hour, but the bar was full and all reservations at tables had been booked. Note to self to come back. But, our great experience occurred when being told they were full, as Matt apologized for the inconvenience and then coached us on where to go instead (great coaching, by the way). We DID go here the next night, and it was an awesome experience. Food, drinks, specials, staff, atmosphere, etc. Everything was perfect. We had the salumi board, the pappardelle, and the rigatoni. Included are some pics. All were good and you can't go wrong with any of them, but the rigatoni won the food battle in my book. Sounds like a basic dish, but something they do with the sauce makes it high level and different (plus, Matt said it was his go to, and always listen to the folks who have to be there every day). My wife tried a few of the mixed drinks and loved them. I kept it simple with beers. The staff. Behind the bar was Brett and Jemsi (guessed spelling, sorry if wrong). They were personable, energetic, and highly efficient (Brett was low key cool, Jemsi was high energy cool). Our experience would have been great just with them, but we had the luck of the draw in sitting by the servers' well. THAT was where the fun was. I am sure they are great servers too, but Taylor and Bane really added to our incredible experience with their exceptional personalities and witty humor while waiting for their drinks. The atmosphere was elevating and boisterous without being irritating, and we definitely are glad we got to visit here. You can go here for fun, or a classy dinner. Both scenarios somehow work there. I would highly recommend this place, and see you there...the next time we are in Boise.

Homemade pasta was worth the stop. I had Ricotta Agnolotti. It was fresh and delicious. I followed the meal with salted caramel gelato. The service was top tier. Definitely a place I would recommend to any visitors to Boise.

Google
Exceptionally fresh and delicious. We made reservations for a Monday night dinner at 7, thank God because they were busy! Our server recommended Happy hour for drinks and food, so we’re definitely headed back soon!

Google
First time here and had a great experience. We got the ravioli and carbonara. Never had homemade pasta and the noodles were thick and chewy in an amazing way. Both dishes had some real depth and flavor. The ravioli dish was particularly good. We ordered the focaccia as an appetizer and wasn’t blown away from it. Wasn’t warmed all the way through and may have been cooked the day prior. Not bad, just underwhelming. The seating was very tight. We sat next to a couple where we might as well have been at the same table. Overall a great experience! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for great Italian food. We will be coming back.

Google
We had such a great experience here! The place has a great, open floor plan that feels inviting. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. I'm recently sober, and was delighted with the mocktail options!! The crimson cooler was delightful! We shared the burrata and it was decadent! I had the Bucatini Carbonara and it was fantastic, with plenty left over to enjoy again at home! Definitely adding this place to my go-to list!

Yelp
We met some friends there and it was our first time going but they had been before. The service was very good although I wish they would bring water by more often especially after finishing our drinks. Food was great except the Spaghetti as it was way, way, way too salty. The Focaccia bread was wonderful and so was the Radiatore. We also had Roasted Beets which were good. I would go there again but not get the spaghetti which is sad as it's a staple of Italian food.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance. Open kitchen concept that's always fun to watch. Big bar with a large window that opens up to allow fresh air on beautiful days like this. Service was good and our waiter was helpful with keeping us in tune with the happy hour ending to make sure we didn't miss our opportunity. All pasta is made in-house and it shows. Delicious. You can also watch it being made. Cocktails were great. Beet salad was excellent. We were so hungry that my camera didn't get to eat first! Ripe, juicy, beets with a whipped cheese. Pasta was excellent. Fresh, thick, and cooked perfectly. Meat sauce was delish. Will return.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of being part of the design team that did the millwork here (booths, cabinets, wall paneling), so naturally, I was very invested in seeing how it all came together... and more importantly, how the food stacked up. I stopped in for happy hour and ordered the Pappardelle, paired it with an Old Fashioned. Chef's kiss. Perfect portion, insanely delicious, and plated like it was ready for its close-up. The server was friendly, super attentive, and let's be real pretty easy on the eyes. Bonus. The vibe? Spot on. Cool, cozy, and just different enough to feel like you're somewhere special without being too precious. Boise needed this place. Highly recommend if you're into great food, good drinks, and perfectly crafted booth seating (I may be biased, but still)

Yelp
I've been 4 times now. The pasta dishes are all great (although trending a little too far on the salty side), and servers have all done really good jobs. What keeps it from being 5 stars is that the price points on the normal menus are too high. These pasta dishes should not be in ~$26/each or so. Happy hour provides good deals though. Show up between 4-6 and you're good.

Yelp
Food and ambiance were good. Had a good ragu, and some meatballs for an appetizer. The wine list was good as well. Enjoyed it.

Yelp
First off, service and ambiance was wonderful. Friendly, efficient and right in downtown where there is lots to see. They have a nice patio in a wide alleyway so it feels more intimate. We got the Carbonara and the flavor was delicious. Only feedback and this is more of a preference but the pasta sauce wasn't as thick and was more thin. It also was a bit too salty than expected. To add, the pasta noodle had a harder texture than I thought it would be. Croquettes were on point as well as the cocktails

Yelp
Service 5/5 Food and its flavor 5/5 Price 4/5 Ambiance - casual, good for work dinners, but not high end I came here for a work dinner with a coworker and while the service , the food and their hospitality was amazing I couldn't help but think they could have been priced better than some of the other neighboring restaurants!

Yelp
Came to Tavolàta for a business dinner tonight. I have heard fabulous things about this restaurant and I was very excited to find out we were having dinner here. Walking in, I was greeted by the beautiful hostess. She got me sat at a great table in the middle of the restaurant. It was nice being exposed to the whole experience. After checking out the menu, Taylor, our server greeted me. He got me started on the happy our menu. I took his suggestion and ordered the foccacia bread with the olive oil/ balsamic vinegar dip. For my beverage I grabbed the pineapple house soda. I did start off with the bread without my dinner date. I was hungry! The foccacia bread was delicious and fresh! It was crusty, the middle was the bread was sooooo stuff andthe top was salty and buttery. I did prefer dipping the bread in just the olive oil. The balsamic vinegar was good but the olive oil hit a little more for me. The house soda was tasty! It's not like a normal soda in sweetness. It was clean tasting. Kinda like if you added soda water to some juice. We did also have the marinated olives while we were waiting for dinner. The olives were salty, slightly spicy and buttery. Both the green and kalamata olives were delightful! The pappardelle was also part of the happy hour menu which was nice! Dinner at a happy hour price, I'll take it! The pasta was beautifully plated in a pasta bowl. First looking at it, the sausage and beef was hearty. The pasta were wide and golden colored. The sauce was rich in color. Eating it was delightful! The pasta was perfectly cooked. The ragu was rich and flavorful. It was fantastic! We ended dinner with a nice cup of coffee. A perfect treat at the end of dinner. Besides our whole experience being great, Taylor was extra extra extra great tonight! He did such an amazing serving us tonight, making sure we were ok and happy. We need more servers like Taylor. I think more people would enjoy their dining experiences if they received serve like Taylor's. I look forward to going back and having dinner here again.

Yelp
At first glance, you would think it's just another Italian restaurant. After giving it a shot, we were pleasantly surprised to experience Tavolàta giving boring Italian dishes their own little twists to keep it interesting. Each component of the dishes had a discernible taste and the textures really worked with each other. I would recommend getting the gnocchi alla romana, and the chicken ricotta meatballs.

Yelp
I was in town for a business trip and had dinner here with clients. We were seated in the back window room, with a single long table. Beautiful restaurant with viewpoint to watch the crew hand making the pasta. Staff were helpful and attentive the entire visit. I ordered the rigatoni and ate my entire dish! Very fresh tasting!

Yelp
Absolutely loved the food and cocktails. Good atmosphere and attentive service. The happy hour should not be missed! Homemade pasta is a game changer. It's so nice to eat the pasta and bread without feeling stuffed when you leave.

Yelp
Homemade pasta SO GOOD!! Beet salad was fresh and delicious!!! We made a reservation and got seated and served quickly. Mostly casual atmosphere but a little on the nicer end. Good for a date night. Wish I lived in Boise so I could come back!

Yelp
Homemade pasta made basically in front of you ! We decided to go to Tavolàta for happy hour. Really good cheap drinks! And amazing food options ! Both pastas were amazing and had good flavors ! Lastly dessert was good ! A little bit on the dry side but really complemented the chocolate really well !

Yelp
Below average modern Italian in Boise. We were able to walk in (with no wait) as a group of 8 on a Saturday night. The interior is nice (albeit generic), and the menu is clearly catered to an American palate. Service was abysmal. Whilst collecting our order, the server asked if we wanted salads to be brought out first, or all together with the mains. We opted for the latter, but were served the salads first anyway. This was awkward, as a few people in my group were having salads as their mains. My husband asked if he could substitute the Tonnarelli with spaghetti in the Cacio e Pepe, as he is not a fan of thick noodles. "It's exactly like spaghetti" our server assured him. It was not even close to spaghetti lol. Tonnarelli is about 3 times as thick as a spaghetti noodle. The dish was bland and dry. The Beet and Caesar Salads were passable, but the Gnocchi should be avoided at all costs. Served boiling hot in a cast iron dish, it was too hot to eat for 20 minutes after arriving at the table. Once cooled, we discovered that beneath the soupy sea of vodka-esque sauce, the gnocchi were giant, doughy dumplings, the size of pierogis. I've had better meals at Olive Garden.

Yelp
It was my girlfriend's birthday and she wanted this place. Last weekend, I was in Belltown and walked by this place. I heard good things about it and when I told her, this is what she requested here in Boise. The day of her birthday, I emailed the restaurant to let them know she requested this place. I never heard back, so I called around 5pm to confirm. They put me on hold and went to check their email. Matt, the manager advised that it went to their spam folder for some reason and couldn't accommodate us at the time we requested. He said, "they would make it special." Reluctantly, I took the time they said they could do. Luckily, her son had made a reservation which saved the day, but nothing "special" was done at all. Just a regular dinner. We were a party of 4. They gave us a table behind the curtain which blocked us from cold coming in the front door. The seats were extremely uncomfortable, no cushions on the bench or chairs. The restaurant had a classy ambiance. We ordered a couple bottles of wine that the Somalia helped us choose and we each ordered a meal to enjoy. I chose the Gnocchi alla Romana and it came to the table hottt and was delicious, but not what I expected. We all enjoyed our choices.

Yelp
Went tonight for a late bday Dinner and everything was good. Open Kitchen, everything fresh and cooked to order. Pastas made in house. We got the Carbonara, Cesar Salad, some got Spaghetti with one meatball, and not pictured the Focaccia. For dessert the Zeppole's were amazing. Basically mini beignets with a zesty touch and chocolate sauce. And they have a Happy Hour from 4-6! Good food and good service. Definitely will be going back!

Yelp
This review is from my second visit to Tavolàta, but I'll provide feedback from my first experience too. We went on Monday for happy hour--with a 5pm reservation--and it was terrific! Delicious, reasonable happy hour offerings with heathy choices. We split everything--house-made focaccia, Tavolàta salad (caveat: dressing is bit spicy), chickpeas, and my fav, the roasted beets. All were hearty portions and $7-$13 each. Service was perfect--our waitress delivered food quickly and was attentive. I had a glass of the only red wine on the HH menu, but would order it again. Upon my recommendation, my friend went deterred off the HH menu and ordered the agave sour that my adored during our mother's day brunch at Tavolàta one month prior. So, I'll briefly mention our mother's day experience since they aren't normally open for brunch. I had some special requests to swap in goat cheese for my omelette and they accommodated, after a quick check with the kitchen. My mom had the french toast that was delicious, but it was $24! Surprise. But it was all about mom that day so whatever she wanted flew--including two agave sours that are beautiful in a pale violet color. Net/net: I'll definitely be back for happy hour--I'm craving those beets already! Bonus: Parking tip to navigate current DoBo construction: Take 5th Street from Front and turn left into the paid parking lot (before you hit Main) and you'll be literally steps away from the restaurant's entrance. Easy!

Yelp
Gosh, our dinner here was probably one of the best dinners I've had at a restaurant in a long time. Me and my girlfriends were visiting from out-of-state, and we came here kind of on a whim. Our server was Matt, and he was truly very very kind and SO helpful. He gave us so many good recommendations and he was chatty without being a bother. I had a super delicious cherry cocktail; the cherries that came with it would taste SO yummy on top of a scoop of vanilla ice cream! For an appetizer, we had some focaccia as well as some burrata. It was soooo yummy. As for my dinner, I chose the gnocchi a la Romana. It came out in a dish as if the whole thing was baked like a lasagna, and this was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and I would happily recommend this spot to anyone from out of town, especially if they get Matt as their server.

Mike M.

Yelp
Great service. Great food. We had a meal off the happy hour menu, and were pleased with the presentation, flavors and the good wine we chose.

Yelp
Been there before, j once with a group and then just my wife and I. This time we were again just the two of us celebrating our anniversary, we were also there during happy hour, she had the spaghetti and meatballs and I had the Pappardelle, we also had the Caesar salad and focaccia bread, everything was very good! Service was excellent (new waiter in training), everyone one was very friendly! Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Melissa Z.

Yelp
Italian girl will always find amazing Italian anywhere! This place is a gem! Very cute indoor space with an open kitchen. I had my pup with me so I had to sit on the patio. Not too shabby either. I ordered a glass of Viognier with the roasted beets appetizer. Really yummy dish. I had to go with the handmade in-house bucatini. This dish was stunning. Perfect chew to the pasta and the spice was just right from the Calabrian chilis in the sauce. I would get this again and again if I lived in the area. Service was prefect and friendly. Well done!
google avatar

Alicia B.

Yelp
The location is beautiful. Service was very good. The food was not amazing but serviceable. There are definitely better Italian places in Boise, but if you are into cocktails and/or are looking for that higher end aesthetic, this place will do you right.

Linda C.

Yelp
Great food and fun personnel. Loved the menu choices and patrons seemed to be enjoying their time.

Yelp
I've been many times to the locations in Seattle, and was thrilled that Stowell put a location in Boise! This restaurant is a pasta lovers dream come true. Perfectly prepared, delicious food. The vibe at the restaurant is chic and modern, but still feels comfortable. And the service was some of the best we've ever had. We went again for my Birthday last weekend, and everyone at my table commented that our server Jaylynn was an absolute star. Highly recommend the Caccio Pepe, Ravioli as well as the Marinated Olive and Burrata Appetizer. Those are my go-to's. If they have it, the Carrot Cake is also a stand out. Will be back very soon.

Yelp
I found Tavolàta by chance looking for new places to try. We came in last minute and were able to grab a seat at the bar (our preferred location). We were greeted by an awesome bartender (I can't remember her name but she designed the cherry mezcal drink which was delicious) who was about to get off work but took our drink orders and let us know Izzy would take care of us. Izzy came over and offered her recommendations. The tavolàta salad was PHENOMENAL. Light but filling and enough for two to split. While we were told the pasta dishes were designed to be shared we ordered our own dishes to try more on the menu & SO glad we did. The ragú tasted like my grandma had been in the kitchen all day & i couldn't put my fork down with the cacio e Pepe. Even though we were so full we got the pannacotta and WOW ... the perfect finish to a perfect evening. Izzy & the rest of the folks at Tavalàta made the entire night one we won't forget! We will be back!

Gina R.

Yelp
Hostess was the worst. He had dark curly hair and was so impersonal. Do better if that's who's greeting your people at $30 a plate. White boy Italian food and not worth the money. Save your money and go to Luciano's.
google avatar

Paige N.

Yelp
Mother's Day reservation for outdoor seating; we had the patio to ourselves (Indoors looked packed). Our waitstaff were very personable and quick on everything. Drinks were perfect, meals were fantastic, and everything was as ordered (not crispy bacon, and a made-to-order Manhattan). The Bruschetta starter was great, the "Salumi Board" could have had more cheeses (but was as advertised).
google avatar

Randy E.

Yelp
Just ate here last night on a visit to Boise, and it was by far my best meal in Boise. In fact, my carbonara was the best I've ever eaten anywhere. The taste was perfect and the homemade noodle just exquisite. Perfectly cooked with the best chew ever. The hot bread was also very good. Both the male and female servers were very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend.

Yelp
If you're into trendy Italian spots where the modern aesthetic is appealing, presentation is key, and friendly service isn't a necessity, go here. This review comes from someone who prefers the big portions, good quality Italian with staff who are passionate about the dishes and comfy seating. So this wasn't exactly my scene. The food was good. I got the gnocchi (however this is six large dumplings, versus your standard small ones), Caesar, and focaccia bread split with my friend. All was good, as was the NA drink I had. However, I wasn't impressed with the service. Our server wasn't engaged at all, and our main dishes took a bit to arrive after our salads. I can see how this is a Seattle-based spot, because it's definitely got that vibe to it. But it's not where I'm taking someone who asks for Italian when visiting Boise. Overall, it wasn't my personal scene, but if the first paragraph resonates, by all means!

Yelp

Yelp
I loved this pasta dish. The seasoning was spot on and everything tasted super fresh. The portion was generous and the presentation was nice. It came out piping hot and made for a perfect lunch. Will be back to try the other pastas too.

Maxwell T.

Yelp
I've been here a few times. This an excellent Italian restaurant. Their rigatoni and spaghetti anchovy are amazing. The rigatoni is a traditional dish, and the spaghetti anchovy seems quite modern. Both are very good, and can be made gluten free. I've also had their salumi board. The cuts are consistently very high quality. The board comes with a side of torta frita for an extra $5. It's definitely worth it. The food is as good as anything you'd find in Italy. Service is consistently good.

Meagan F.

Yelp
I'm obsessed. Token vegan here, never ate so good! Gluten free pasta with a customize veg and sauce blend. Boo ya! They also ring in flavor with their house made focaccia. So going back!

Yelp
This place will be really great, it is just going to take a little more time to get a solid rhythm. Our waitress was kind and sweet but lacked menu knowledge when we asked about a couple dishes. Kudos to them, however, when they came back and corrected themselves with accurate information they got form the kitchen. The wine I wanted off the happy hour menu was not available. That was a bummer. Our pasta dishes were good, but we were never offered grated parmesan. We were offered red pepper flakes or freshly cracked pepper; to which we requested the latter. A bowl of freshly cracked pepper arrived at the end of our meal. So, we will be back to try again at a much later time, when the a few more of the kinks get worked out. And, like I said, it will great.

Peder A.

Yelp
Really cool atmosphere, food was very good, and people were very friendly. Maybe a little high on the price, but you can literally see them making the pasta and sauces by hand, so it's worth it.

Yelp
10 open tables and still an hour wait on a Monday at 5pm? Really. I believe you should get your act together.
google avatar

Amanda D.

Yelp
Cute little spot behind the Boise Basque District! They have a sweet happy hour deal on both food and drinks between 4-6pm everyday. I will definitely be back for that. Wine was $9, mocktails $6, and most pasta dishes only $14 during happy hour. They have gluten free pasta which was a plus and can make any dish besides the lasagna and gnocchi gluten free. The gluten free pasta is not hand made but still tasted good for gluten free! Service was good and I enjoyed the overall vibe of the place.

Yelp
I will start with the good: Food: the food was amazing and overall great presentation. I ordered "the king" and my wife ordered carbonara. Ambiance: I really enjoyed the overall feel to the restaurant, a blend of sophisticated and relax. The not so good: Service I'd give 1 star due to our unfortunate experience with server. I really hope server was just having an off day because it truly felt like we were a burden. It took about 8-10 minutes to get water and greeted, having past server experience I know this is not a the way you want to start service. Once we got waters it took about 15 minutes for server to return and take our order. Overall food and ambiance I give 4 stars!

Yelp
Parking note for Tavolàta (we visited late April 2024): Quite a bit of roadwork on the streets surrounding Tavolàta. Plenty of public parking (paid) in the area, however plan on some extra time to actually reach multiple lots within an easy stroll of the front doors. They were also doing concrete work directly in front of the restaurant, but this did not detract from dining here. Parking aside, the interior of Tavolàta is vibrant - high, open ceilings, exposed ductwork, windowed walls, movement, and noise. Not a whispering venue, but a place for open and spirited discussion. Our reservation for 5 was initially seated right away with 3 of us (2 were stuck in the forementioned parking "fun"). So we 3 decided to jump into the pool right away with drinks and starter plates. Our table was directly across from the large open kitchen. Additionally, next to the working kitchen was another area where they were preparing multiple iterations of focaccia bread (mentioned below). Shaq was our server and proved to be knowledgeable on all things Tavolàta including the Happy Hour fare and extensive beverage offerings. Happy Hour discounts appear for many of the items on the regular dinner menu and we were more than happy to try a handful. The House Made Focaccia (Confit Garlic, Aged Balsamic Vinegar, Olive Oil) was such a brilliant way to start the meal with wine and beer. Four large slices were enjoyed, followed by our request for another order of the same (our two late guests would appreciate it). Simulitaneously we had ordered the Chickpeas (Celery, Sultanas [aka Golden Raisins], Parsley, Lemon, Olive Oil). The chickpeas proved to be a refreshing bite in contrast to the lovely focaccia. Told Shaq we also wanted to try the Fingerling Potatoes (Garlic Aioli, Parmesan, Rosemary). The order was large enough for all of us to take a couple of spuds each. Nicely cooked and the garlic aioli and parmesan tasted great. The rosemary did not seem to make its' presence known which for me is ok. Onward to entrees... As mentioned, there were five of us for dinner, but since I won't take pictures of all plates on the table (awkward), I only review what my normal co-pilot (the wife) and I order (and share tastes of the same). I do however listen to all the comments at the table during the meal out of my own curiousity. All three of our guests ordered the same dish Rigatoni "The King" (Spicy Pork Sausage, Tomato, Marjoram, Chili, Parmesan). Honestly, this had my interest up until the moment of placing my own order, so I was glad to be able to see this dish. All three enjoyed it and the portions were large enough for take home boxes. My wife went with the Spaghetti (Tomato, Basil, Parmesan sauce option as well as adding the Pork & Chicken meatballs for an extra charge). The second sauce option for the 'sketti is Anchovy, Garlic, Chili, Mint, Parmesan. She loved the choice and again had a large enough plate to bring half home. For me it had to be the Gnocchi Alla Romana (Semolina Dumplings, Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato, Chili). This is not your typical gnocchi. First, the gnocchi are semolina-based rather than potato or ricotta cheese. Second, these are large - six marshmallow sized gnocchi baked with the mentioned ingredients and topped with minced parsley. The flavors worked well for me and the little spicy ending for each forkful was appreciated. Oh, I finished my dinner! No leftovers for me! Tavolàta is a wonderful place to enjoy socializing over a nice beverage accompanied by fantastic food! Highly-recommended.

Yelp
Service was excellent, Shaq was our server. He was wonderful! Pappardelle was pretty good even four stars. Rigatoni was lacking flavor, it was a thin red sauce and sweet, two stars. We were unfortunately sat next to the window and the Sun was horrific. Sweating and we just wanted out. If the seating was better or the food was better this could be a great spot. We will go back to try other things, and hopefully a different place to sit.

Yelp
Big failure for Mother's Day brunch. Pricey Benedict served on English muffin you needed a chisel to cut and 4 potato wedges that looked liked 4 tater tots. Totally lame. Feel poorly for the friendly server.

Yelp
I freaking love this place and highly recommend it. The food is both approachable and distinctive, with generous portions perfect for sharing, all at an affordable price. The lively atmosphere, along with attentive service, truly enhances the customer experience. I wish more dining spots in Boise were like this. Our meal featured a tasty hamachi crudo with a touch of heat from Calabrian chili, the Tavolata salad, salmon crostini, cacio e pepe, rigatoni (aptly named "the king"), and zeppole for dessert. Every dish was delicious, served hot, and paced to our liking. We enjoyed our time there for three hours, never feeling rushed or unwelcome. Make sure to visit Tavolata soon!

Yelp
Service was great, we made a reservation for 5:30 at 11am on the Open table app. Arrived at 5:35 due to the construction out front, parking was a minor inconvenience. The ambiance to me was personally confusing, i was generalize it with Austin, tx trendy flat brimmed hat photographer meets modern decor. Not Italian at all. The food (to me) was the best of the of the visit. I had the rigatoni and it was wonderful and it was even on the happy hour. The focaccia was awesome, the dipping sauce makes it even better. I would 100% order again.

Yelp
Had a reservation on the patio, only tables available. The patio is more of a side alley with no ambience. Two tables available, put us at the sunny table on a hot mid 80's day. We asked for the shade table, but they said it was reserved? They tried to adjust the umbrella, but it was little help. Hard to have an enjoyable time in such a bad atmosphere. Would have gone elsewhere, but we had a time crunch. When they delivered the drinks, they brought my beer without a glass. I asked for one that took 5 minutes to arrive. Might sound petty, but this not how things are done in a high end restaurant. The food was average all around. Not the worst experience, by why return to a spot that doesn't seem to try too hard to please its customers.

Yelp
We liked it and will be back! Good food, fair prices, good service. Kind of a simple formula for success that many somehow miss? The only suggesstion; perhaps some sound deadening material on the ceiling. That said, many other Boise resturants are much less quiet. Thank you for listening.

Yelp
This is a must visit in Boise for amazing house-made pasta with innovative touches in a trendy and chill ambiance. Been here multiple times and the service is always top-notch--quick, personable, and attention to detail. Menu highlights include: pappardelle pasta with its unique flavor profile bursting with flavor; creamy, rich, and not too sweet tiramisu; salted caramel gelato; Caesar salad with light and crunchy topping instead of croutons; creative, perfectly chilled tasty drinks. Open kitchen is fun to watch them prepare the delicious pastas. I really haven't had a bad bite here and it is a favorite place to enjoy a relaxing and highly satisfying meal. Bonus points for great happy hour menu prices.
