I've heard nothing but praise about this restaurant, so I assume my expectations were high. Restaurant was busy and we had made reservations, as we were there to celebrate my birthday! Service was nice and polite, perhaps a bit slow (too many guests and tables per waiter), and we had to wait quite long for our drinks. But once served, the drinks were exquisite! Our company chose three different dishes, where I picked the gluten free zaffron pasta with seafood. It was unfortunately one of the most blend and neutral pasta's I've ever had. I took a sample piece of the pizza - and that was amazing! Nothing like a Swedish pizza, and I loved it! I also tried a chicken dish, which was better than my pasta, not as great as the pizza. For dessert, I had a lovely gelato. Two other tables/guests were also there celebrating their birthdays, and the were given a song and sparkles with their dessert. Tavolo was informed that our reservation was for a birthday too, but they did not sing, no sparkles and no extra decorations on our table. So if your looking for that attention, I don't know how to go about it, but if you want to be left alone this may be a good choice for you. It was worth a visit, but it's unlikely that I will chose this place again.

Recommended by a friend and didn’t disappoint, suggest making a reservation. Service was kind and timely. Food was high quality, but in cases pike this you’re also paying for the experience and atmosphere, which was worth it. Concept is sharing dishes. Pizza: didn’t impress, I’d rather try another option next time. Pesto: love it, nutty, yummy, would order again. Chicken parmigiana: good, slightly spicy. Potatoes with cheese: it was just to be a side but the crust really got us, would order again. Limonetto sorbet with olive oil: interesting and fresh.

Average level of arancini and pasta but really good pizza and beef. The pastas were ok but nothing special, they were something we could fix at home. The pizza dough was crispy and almost flaky, the honey neutralized the savory flavors of the dish, and it was not too greasy. The beef was extremely tender and juicy, the texture of the meat was really soft yet still chewy. The cooked vegetables paired with the beef were refreshing and crunchy. The place is big and noisy, but the indoor decor is very unique and beautiful.

It is must have dining place when you come to Gothenburg. The ambient of the place is just amazing and the food is outstanding. Presentation of the food and the taste is on another level. The concept is that you share everything with the people you come there. We had Tartare di Vitello, Bruschetta and Prosciutto Pizza.

Incredible food start to finish. Interesting take on the dishes & fantastic portions. Good service also! One remark is on the Affogato dessert was underwhelming unfortunately.

Very disappointing experience. I am from South Africa and visited Tavolo in Gothenburg with my partner. Before coming, I checked the website and saw that there were free reservations available. To be sure, I called the restaurant and asked whether it would be possible to order one pizza and share it. I was told that this was fine, but at the same time I was told that there were no free reservations — which was confusing, since the website still showed availability. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told again that there were no tables available and that we could not order food at the tables we pointed out. This was despite the fact that many tables were clearly free, and guests at nearby tables were ordering food without any issue. We left and returned later, and even more tables had become free. At that point, we decided to sit down ourselves. After sitting for almost 15 minutes without any service, I had to ask three times before a waiter finally came to our table. Once we were served, the waitress was very kind and professional, and the food and drinks were eventually ordered without issue. Because of her friendliness, I still left a 10% tip, even though the overall experience was far below expectations. This level of confusion and lack of service is not what one would expect from a Michelin-recognized restaurant.

The evening started of great with a quick call to the restaurant asking if it was possible to come in with the dog. They were very happy about it and even accommodate a table in the corner near a wall including a drinking bin for our dog. When we arrived we were taking to our table by the friendly staff who explained to us the idea of the restaurant of shared dining. The menu is wide ranging from pastas, anti pastas, pizzas, side dishes, desserts, wines, soft drinks and cocktails/mocktails. On the menu it is highlighted well what is vegan and what is vegetarian, however some vegetarian options do have cheese and all their cheese contains rennet so if you are strict on diets do check this with the staff. They are happy to help. The food and drinks arrived quickly but this didn’t take away of the taste. Which was lightly said great, and we understand why they were taken into the Michelin guide. So we highly recommend visiting this place. The building and atmosphere is very nice and you keep seeing new things. We will definitely come again when in the area!
