The Best Momos in NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"You’ll find notably large, tender, steamed dumplings with a ton of vegetable, chicken, or beef filling at Tawa Roti, a Jackson Heights shop with a few tables that overlook an open kitchen. Watch as your momos are stuffed and folded, then try to be patient while they steam. Make liberal use of the two squeeze bottles of sauce on your table, especially the sesame." - carina finn koeppicus, bryan kim

The Best Nepali Restaurants In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"The momos at Tawa Roti are something special, and they’ll cost you $10 or less. (Everything on the menu at this Jackson Heights spot is under $15.) They’re large, with a tender filling, and once you choose between vegetable, chicken, or beef, you can take a seat at one of the tables which look into an open kitchen, and watch your dumplings be stuffed, folded, and—finally—steamed. Make liberal use of the two squeeze bottles of sauce on your table, especially the sesame, and round out your order with a vegetable thali, which comes with a sour, homemade yogurt in place of meat." - willa moore, sonal shah, bryan kim

Tawa Roti Review - Jackson Heights - New York - The Infatuation

"Tawa Roti is a little shop in Jackson Heights that’s great for a quick lunch. There are only a few tables inside, but they’re very sunny and overlook the open kitchen, which is where the magic happens. Everything here is made to order, and you can taste the difference it makes. Our go-to order here is sel roti, a vegetable thali, and an order of steamed momos. The thali comes with tangy yogurt and lots of pickled things, and the momos are some of the best in the city." - Carina Finn

Hole in the wall kind of place. Simple menu. Amazing chicken momos. Feel really local.

Hands down the best selroti place in the U.S.! It’s a very small place, perfect for a quick bite. We didn’t get to try anything else except selroti, but surely other items are good as well. The lady who served was very friendly and pleasant.

Decent Nepalese food though the place is quite run down and kind of dirty. Had the roti thali which came with goat, dal, cauliflower, roti and some chutnies. Also tried the sel roti which the lady warned me was premade and they warmed up the in microwave. The sel roti is interesting, almost like a non sweet donut. Worth trying. Decent food but not sure I'd come back with all the other options in the area.

Go here for the food not for the atmosphere. Authentic Nepali food. Had the chicken thalli and it was superb.

Simple food, but everything had a unique flavor and seemed made the same day. The food is all premade and served from the kitchen like from a hot buffet. There are only two tables so I got takeout. There aren't any convenient places to eat outside nearby, but I found a metal bench across the street.

Really friendly people and yummy food. Loved the thali dishes. Small space with only three tables. Very happy with our experience and hope to come back to try the sel roti.

One of my favorite places in Jackson Heights! I always get the vegetarian thali, it's absolutely delicious
