After Syria’s Civil War, Syrian Refugees Rethink Istanbul Restaurants | Eater

"A falafel operation transplanted from Aleppo that serves heart-shaped falafel with tarator (creamy tahini with sumac) and pickles made in an Aleppan style, while also offering regional variants such as a Sudanese-style shatta and bright amba (tangy mango pickle). Its menu exemplifies the culinary hybridity spreading Syrian flavors across Istanbul and helping integrate those tastes into the city’s broader food landscape." - J. Cary

Really recommend this place if you want high class falafel. The Lemonade is also really amazing. We used to come and eat breakfast here instead of our hotel. Really worth the money.

They have a nice dish — dough baked in the oven with Kashkaval cheese, then topped with fries. It’s really tasty, but the amount of cheese is a bit small

Tayba Falafel is truly the OG Tayba and the heart of this street! We went in thinking we’d need to order multiple dishes, but the server honestly told us that the Tayba Special for 4 would be more than enough for our group of 5, and he was absolutely right. The generosity of the portions blew us away. For just 1400 TL total for 5 people, we enjoyed a huge, beautifully arranged spread that had everything you’d want in an authentic Syrian experience: hummus, baba ghannoush falafel, kibbeh, foul, fatteh, fries, and more. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and felt like real homestyle cooking. The restaurant was super busy when we arrived, which already told us it was a local favorite, and we were lucky to find a spot. The energy, service, and the unbeatable value made the whole visit even more memorable. If you want authentic Syrian food in Istanbul, especially in this area, Tayba Falafel is a must-visit, you won’t leave hungry or disappointed!

• Poor service. • I ordered assorted cheeses and pastries but received a different order. • This is not falafel; the main ingredient, parsley, is missing. • The falafel was cold. • Prices are high.

Overall one of my best restaurant experience. We started by saying we are vegetarian and asked for the waiters help which should we choose. He showed us a really nice plate for two. Spoiler we shouldn't have asked for two person 😂. The portion seems not as much as it was. We couldn't finish the food even though it was really good. I think all things on the plate was really tasteful and thought on. The waiters were really helpful, one of them came to us to tell that one of the item on the plate had meat in it so we shouldn't eat that. They served us relatively fast. The price was really decent ( I'm comparing to other restaurants in Istanbul). The location is next to a busy road but it was nice to sew people and cats walk by. We asked them to pack the remaining food and we price came out with two colas to be 570 try. I ended up giving them around 10% tip and they were really grateful about it.

The food was beyond amazing—absolutely delicious! The service was decent, though it could be improved. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great dining experience!

Yelp
This is as authentic as it gets. Located at Fatih, a humble busy area in Istanbul, it delivers authentic Syrian brunch. They have the best falafel, best hummus, best freshly baked bread, best tea, best fava beans, best freshly baked pies and best everything. You can come here every single day, literally. Prices are cheap here. The people were so kind and accommodating for big parties. It's so lively and busy here but you get a seat guaranteed. Every time in Istanbul we have to come here.
