"Though its claim to fame is hoagies, homegrown chain Taylor Gourmet is having fun with the limited-edition SP double stack. The seasonal burger, which briefly popped onto the scene last summer and is currently offered at all Taylor shops, is everything a Big Mac should be. There’s multiple beef patties, melted American cheese, diced pickles, shredded lettuce, seeded buns. And, of course, tongue-teasing secret sauce. The burger chains better watch out." - Eater Staff

Closest to Philly/NY style hoagie in DC. Capitol Hill's, Mangialardo's comes close but isn't convenient for us and we prefer TG's bread. We've had TG's Italian several times and it's always excellent. We decided to try the 'Race' turkey breast sandwich. The bread is awesome. Very close to Philly/NY style in look, texture and taste. The roasted turkey breast was excellent too. Nicely seasoned and very thinly sliced. Disappointment was only half the hoagie had tomato and instead of sliced red onion (which is what the board and paper menu reads) there was sliced white onion. And although the turkey was perfectly seasoned - the lettuce, tomato and onion was not adequately seasoned. Service was fast and friendly.

Delicious!!! One of the things I love is a hero (sub, hoagie, grinder if you’re from somewhere outside NY metro area) on awesome, crusty Italian bread. The bread can make or break a sandwich in my opinion. I am always so hesitant to order sandwiches when I’m on the road for this reason. Well, not only was the Italian bread real Italian bread and not something parading as Italian bread, but all the other components of the sandwich were absolutely scrumptious. Chicken cutlet nice and crispy, tomato and lettuce very fresh and the cheese was very flavorful white American. Overall I really can’t say enough good things about this sandwich. I am so happy I ordered the large because now I have lunch for tomorrow too. Life, and this sandwich, are very good. I will definitely be ordering from here again. Enthusiastic two thumbs up! 👍🏼 👍🏼

I’ve eaten here over a dozen times, as I have lived in the area for awhile. While the ingredients they use and the menu are good, the bread really brings it down. The bread is consistently rock hard like it is a day old, making it difficult to enjoy your sandwich. Salads are always on point though, and the staff is incredible. I just wish there was more consistency in the bread, that’s going to make or break your sandwich.

Great sandwiches to be had here. I always enjoyed the Italian subs but tried the meatball last time and it will be my new go-to. The meatballs were spicy and tender and the provolone was the perfect mix of salt and smoke. Watch for their specialty rotating sandwiches; as good as the meatball is, after I ordered I saw a sign for a pork sandwich created by Jose Andres and regretted not ordering that instead. I also like the craft small-batch sodas from Puck's, the cream soda is excellent.

The sandwiches are really unique and you can tell that they use fresh ingredients. The staff was really helpful and they made the sandwiches really fast. I also loved their Pucks soda! It was so good I HAD to try several flavors!

Food was great. Service was terrible. Granted this was right after the pride parade so they were packed. Staff was incapable of labeling sandwiches with either the customer's name or what sandwich it was. When sandwiches were wrapped and placed (unlabeled) on the counter they would quietly say the name of the customer once. There were easily 20 people waiting for sandwiches. Some came out immediately, others came out horrendously slow. Some orders of multiple items came out spaced over half an hour apart. I waited 45 minutes for my food, and then got home to find they forgot one of our sandwiches. The manager finally came out right before I got my food and started fixing the confusion that the inept staff caused.

I just ordered the Florentine "cheesesteak". I haven't eaten a sandwich that bad in a long time. I couldn't eat more than a few bites of it. Too much acid and no other flavors. The sandwich wasn't even warm. I've had some good sandwiches at Taylor but overall their food is not good especially for the price they charge.

Having been to 3 different Taylor Gourmet locations this is my least favorite because the bread here always seems too tough and the sandwiches just don't seem to be made with any care at all. Still the same great Taylor choices, and they do offer breakfast on weekends (have not tried because I haven't had to work any weekends).
