My wife saw this restaurant on TikTok, so we decided to try it. Glad we did, food and service were fantastic. Pleasant ambience, courteous, attentive service, excellent traditional Ecuadorian food. The bolon de verde, tigrillo Zarumeno were absolutely delicious, the cafe de chuspa was exquisite. The only disappointment was, we weren't able to try the cheesecake de higo y tomate de arbol as they did not have it ready yet, I guess we will need to go back for it. The trip from Long Island was definitely worth it, and we can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an exquisite culinary adventure at the newly opened Taza Dorada. This cozy little cafe, with its charming ambiance and warm hospitality, left an indelible mark on our taste buds. With their Father's Day prefix menu, we were treated to a delightful feast that showcased the diverse and rich traditional cuisines of Ecuador.

Finally an Ecuadorian place that can be recommended. there is definitely a chef in charge of providing clients with our gastronomy in an elegant and exquisite way. The place decorated with good taste, the exquisite food, the perfect early hours, the friendly attention. My only recommendation is to have more waiters. The girl in charge has too much work to be alone and that makes the service slow, which is annoying. They will grow if they expand with more people to work.

Taza is an interesting twist on traditional Ecuadorian cuisine with some North American influence. The first dish pictured is bolón de verde, which is basically a ball of mashed or food processed green plantain formed into a ball and fried, it is usually filled with or accompanied by cheese or another ingredient. This version included pieces of chicharrón (fried pork belly or fried pork rinds) rolled into the plantain balls with cheese melted on top. I believe the sides were shredded pork and egg among with avocado. The second dish is a simple breaded chicken sandwich with fries. Both dishes included a slightly spicy (depending on your taste) sauce, or ají. The dishes were tasty and well presented, but they were somewhat lacking in quality and quantity for the price. For example, I feel like they should have served more of the sides like the avocado and ají and the fried chicken was a little too well done. The decor is beautiful and the space is uniquely designed considering where the restaurant is located, in a quite industrial area and unfortunately at the outskirts of town. At least there is a parking lot in front of the establishment which is certainly a good thing in the Ironbound neighborhood. Overall, it was pleasant with just a few things detracting from five stars.

Finally a beautiful Ecuadorian restaurant! 🇪🇨 A place where I don’t have to choose between great food and good ambience, I want both, and la Taza Dorada has them!!!Thank you!!! ❤️

Everything in the menu sounded incredible! During the week they have a prefix lunch menu and a la carte dishes. During the weekend they have Ecuadorian specials like ceviche and encebollado. They serve elevated but typical dishes. For example they have sweet plantain waffles! I had a Patacon sandwich that instead of bread they used fried plantain! Must try:)

It’s a beautiful place and the food tastes and looks delicious, the service 5 stars. Anahi is such a great server and the atmosphere gorgeous, without a doubt the best Ecuadorian restaurant in Newark. Looking forward to visit again this place…

Our 3rd time and the service and food remain the same. The food has great flavors, and the dessert Fig Cheesecake is a must!

Yelp
Small but very clean, homely restaurant with some tight/limited parking. The food was excellent! We had the bolón mixto, the encebollado, the shrimp ceviche, some OJ and cafe de chuspe, which were both fresh. What is interesting about their menu is that they have something from the major regions of Ecuador, except for the bread. They have multiple kinds of pastries but no bread at the time we were there. The service was very good too. The only thing I will note is to stay alert on the bill regarding the gratuity if you are going to pay with a card. They just opened up about 3 months ago so they may still be working out the kinks of their system. We were accidentally charged for gratuity as we were looking to tip cash. Other than that, great small restaurant with great Ecuadorian food. We'll be back to try more!

Yelp
