Tazumura (鶴群) at Daimaru Umeda is a standout spot for tonkatsu in Osaka, perfect for a satisfying meal before hopping on a train or after a day of shopping. I completely agree—it’s some of the best I’ve tried, too!

Their menu is centered around high-quality pork. The star is the "Kirishima Black Pork" (霧島黒豚), a premium meat from Miyazaki Prefecture known for its fine marbling and sweet, rich flavor. Whether you choose the loin (rosu) or the leaner tenderloin (hire), you can expect a thick, juicy cutlet. It's generously coated in coarse panko breadcrumbs for an exceptionally crisp, airy crunch that doesn't feel heavy.
The combination of premium ingredients, the fun DIY sauce, and the incredible value with free refills makes it a must-visit. It's the perfect place to fuel up authentically and deliciously in the heart of Umeda. I will absolutely be back!
