Great little community cafe! The atmosphere is so nice here with families, people doing work, and a causal spot to grab a quick drink and bite! The strawberry latte was great, with a subtle real strawberry flavor, and the coffee chia pudding was honestly one of the best chia puddings I have ever had. They have a small selection of snacks, though some are a bit small in portion, but flavors are all great! Definitely a great stop in the area for coffee and a snack!

Google
Relaxed, neighborhood cafe with grab and go food options and an extensive drink menu. I tried an iced latte, flavored with a house made rosemary syrup. Honestly, I wish the syrup flavor was stronger. It was unique and refreshing. Service was pleasant. The atmosphere is great for working, studying or reading. It's also a great community gathering spot.

Google
Tazza D’Oro has great coffee and an amazing vibe. We ordered the mocha latte, matcha latte, cappuccino, mushroom sandwich, and the coffee chia pudding—and everything was a hit. The coffee was fresh and flavorful, and the chia pudding in coconut milk was incredibly creamy and satisfying. A great place to unwind with quality drinks and light bites. Definitely a must-visit in Pittsburgh for coffee lovers!

Google
My husband and I's favorite place to go get coffee. Beautiful atmosphere, lots of local engagement (highlighting local artists, holding events and markets), supportive atmosphere (pride flags!), nice view. Good food, good coffee, good selection of flavors, vegetarian and other dietary options, and affordable prices. We probably come here at least once a week, even when we're busy! The workers and owner are very nice, friendly, and courteous. I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could! ❤️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Google
Nice little neighborhood cafe. There’s Wifi, and they provide dishes if you eat in, with takeout also available. Prices are fair. The drinks are good, though not particularly unique. There’s a decent amount of seating, but it was busy on Sunday morning.

Jammed on a Sat a.m. but the line went quickly. Got the overnight oats. they are cold so I asked to have them warmed which they did with no problems.

Google
Cute little dig in Highland Park. Great coffee, great people and the cold salads are outstanding. I had a pre-made cold wheat berry salad with chick peas, parsely, dill, garlic, onion, lemon juice and olive oil. This salad was a grab and go from their cold case. So yummy! I grabbed another salad for later-roasted beet and goat cheese with a delicious dressing. They also festured some sandwiches and pastries which I did not try but they looked good! Fun little tables on their sidewalk add to the ambiance. Go! Grab a coffee and a yummy treat and drive to the end of the road, a few blocks away to the beautiful Highland Park and find a spot to sit back and enjoy some good vibes. Treat yo’self!

Google
Its a nice cafe don’t get me wrong, but nothing really stood out for me. The space is large and bright but somewhat boring. The are a bunch of wooden benches and chairs both indoors and outdoors where you can enjoy the sun. There is free wifi so you can work from there. It was pretty busy on a Tuesday afternoon but the service was quick. Both the baristas were really sweet and welcoming. I ordered the matcha latte and it was pretty good. The barista whisked the matcha in front of me and I asked it to sweetened with honey and they happily agreed. I only wish, they had proper mugs for people having drinks in the cafe instead of serving everyone in disposable mugs.

Yelp
Quite the neighborhood coffee shop, where we ended up for an early lunch. I had the iced chai latte and a chicken salad sandwich, which was delicious. I really liked the chicken salad. Service was fast and friendly - they gave us plates for the sandwiches. Lots of seating options and would be a great place to sit outside when the weather is nice.

Yelp
Love stopping here for a coffee and sandwich after a session at my nearby gym. They have a good selection of food available, I usually go for a basic bacon, egg, and cheese. The baristas are nice and service is usually quick, even when there's a long line. One time we stopped in and there was a little maker market going on inside which was very cool. Overall it's seems like a nice community spot!

Meagan G.

Yelp
I stop here every chance I get. They have a great variety of coffees, and no matter which one is on drip, it has never disappointed. Also, their chia pudding is my fav. Try it.
google avatar

Yelp
The schemes coffee was great, as was the veggie burrito. The barista even gave me hot sauce which really was the perfect compliment and a fork and knife. I have never eaten a burrito with a fork and knife but yeah, that's the way to do it. There was outside seating which I am always a fan of. It just seems like the kind of place that would have vegan options but they didn't.

Yelp
This is just down the way from my Aunt & Uncles house. What a nice surprise. They house make sandwiches and such and warm them in a pannini press. Regular drip coffee is good as are the cafe au lait. Thé inside is welcoming and staff is pleasant and helpful. It's also LGBTQT+ friendly. You can dit outside or inside. They also have a think a punch card as I saw regulars using them. We came in and it was just us than everyone showed up. Parking is street or walk over if you live in the area.

Yelp
When I say this place is so cute I mean it. It's a small little hole in the wall coffee shop the atmosphere is great and the people are friendly. I ordered an iced chai latte and Mavy got a hot chocolate to drink (it was chilly this morning to him) We also got a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Croissant and a Zuchinni Chocolate Chip muffin . The croissant was as big as Mavericks head and the muffin was so delightful. I didn't even tell Mavy it was Zuchinni he just ate it all up! Make sure you guys check them out!

Yelp
Such a cute neighborhood cafe!! I had a tea latte, almond milk with earl grey lavender tea. (Yes you can choose whatever tea on their tea menu!) It's perfect for a sunny afternoon in the fall. They also offer a wide range of bakery stuff, definitely gonna try them out next time!

Yelp
Coffee: great Pastry case selection: great (love 350° bakery and am sad to hear they're no longer doing wholesale!) Seating: plenty available inside (quietish) and out (plenty of dogs for those who like dogwatching) Seasonal flavors of syrups: plentiful. It seems like every café in town is doing a lavender something and tazza d'oro is on trend!
google avatar

Claire G.

Yelp
I love love love going for a walk and ending up at Tazza D'oro. Inside you'll find local art for sale on all the walls which adds to the home-y feel of the place! I love the variety of homemade syrups! Recommend!

Yelp
This coffee shop is absolutely lovely. I've been here a handful of times now and love introducing more friends to it. I love that they have a gender neutral bathroom, vegan donuts, handmade samosas that are tasty and filling. I love the local art on the walls that gets changed out. For a coffee shop this cute, it needs way more indoor plants! Parking is on the street. There's a bike rack to lock up your bike. They do want you to wear a mask when you walk in, FYI. The baristas are always so nice and friendly. There's one there named Sam that has helped me a few times and made my day because they not only have helped me decide what to order when I had decision fatigue about what to get, but every time I've taken their suggestion and trusted their recommendation, they give me an amazing drink that tastes so cozy and complex. Such a treat! I love it when servers/bartenders/baristas aren't afraid to surprise me or take a risk like that. So cool.

Yelp
Great cafe! Friendly staff and good Coffee. Location is easy to get to, easy street parking options! Beautiful Highland park nearby to enjoy your coffee!

Yelp
Great little coffee shop in a beautiful neighborhood. A little expensive, it is a cafe after all, but the iced lattes were very good. I got an iced oatmilk latte with butterscotch flavor and a blueberry lemon scone.
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful neighborhood gem. Great coffee, pastries and ready to go prepared items (love the quinoa bowl) along with a cozy atmosphere. I love it for get togethers or as a workspace. Love it!!!

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop. The staff is friendly, the coffee is great, atmosphere is classic, and the place is authentic. I've been going here on and off for about 20 years. It evolves and advances but still has a welcoming vibe and quality food/drinks. My recommendations: oat milk hazelnut latte, raspberry bar, and chia pudding.

Yelp
They have re-opened May 2021! Great location around corner from the Highland Park business district on Bryant Street and just down the street from the entrance of the Highland Park Reservoir.

Yelp
Favorite coffee shop in all of Pittsburgh! They have best assortment of baked goods for breakfast and coffee is always excellent. Variety of milk options to chose from. Limited seating indoor and a few spots outside to sit and enjoy. Great wifi to work. Staff is always friendly.

Yelp
Tazza D'Oro is such a cute cafe! It's a must stop when I'm in the highland park area. This coffee shop is definitely on the smaller side. It's perfect if you're looking to do some work or chat with one or two other friends. Due to its small size it's not ideal for big groups. I usually go on Saturday mornings/afternoons and tends to be crowed but I've always been able to find a seat! I've never had a negative experience with staff here. They are always friendly and helpful! A big plus for this cafe is that it is reasonably priced. I tend to favor their lattes. They use Counter Culture coffee here, which I love! I even picked up a bag last time I was there. Over all this little charming coffee shop is a perfect place a caffeine pick me up.

Yelp
I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for our morning coffee. I think that I have been to Tazza D'oro once before but it has been a number of years since then. What prompted this visit for us was that they were on the Pittsburgh Coffee Passport. Whenever we arrived the place was pretty full, both inside and out, and my wife and I took the last table. The inside here consists of a bunch of seating, an area to order your coffee and then some paintings on the wall which are for sale. From our seats my wife and I were able to watch one of the baristas make both a chemex and a v60. For both of them we watched him measure out the beans on a scale, fine tune the grinder before finally doing the pour over. It was nice to see that they care that much about their coffee. For coffee on this morning my wife and I both ordered the cappuccino. They also had interesting sounding cardamom lattes and lavender lattes. After a couple minute wait our drinks were ready and looked pretty. My cappuccino here ended up tasting quite good and I could tell that the beans were both freshly roasted and ground. There was the tiniest bit of bitterness which the milk quickly covered for a good tasting drink. The bottom line for me is that I would come back here again in the future. I liked my coffee here and would be interested in trying a pour over as well as some of their food on our next visit.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy Tuesday and loved it. There is plenty of free street parking, which was great! There are also an ample amount of tables to work at. I was a fan of the tables right near the window. I had the chai latte and there was a bit too much milk for my liking, but it warmed me up. For lunch, I had the quiche and side salad. Their prices are also very reasonable as well. Overall, a great place to grab a coffee or bite to eat, get some work done, or catch up with friends. Will definitely be back! A hidden gem in the highland park area.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this little cafe and it instantly became my favorite spot. The cozy atmosphere and warm decor create a relaxing vibe. It also has a really pretty outside seating area with a wooden arch. The menu offers a variety of delicious lunches and baked goods, each prepared with exceptional quality ingredients. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome. I got the bacon & cheddar scone and the raspberry tart. both were delicious! It's a hidden gem that delivers an outstanding lunch or afternoon coffee experience. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We were in town for a few days and visited this fantastic shop every single day. The lattes were delicious! This shop is obviously a neighborhood staple where people work and gather in a cozy space. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I appreciated their drink recommendations.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice coffee shop in highland park. Good place to work if you can get a table but the seating is a little limited. They have more outdoor space now to sit which is nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing community coffee shop that provides wonderful coffee, tea, and food. The setting is relaxed and welcoming. The staff are attentive and friendly. Coffee shops come and go, but this one has survived over the years because it's an amazing part of the Highland Park Community. The prices are reasonable and the quality is excellent. I highly recommend this shop.

Yelp
Cute little cafe in Highland Park that sells coffee, tea, pastries, salad bowls, etc. Their espresso is especially good.

Yelp
First time at Tazza D'oro and I got a cappuccino and a spinach, egg and cheese croissant. Both are very delicious, but a bit expensive. These two items and an iced coffee came to about $16. However, the quality of the coffee is worth it to come back. The inside has tables, but I'd be hesitant to bring a group of friends here because there isn't too much seating.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has a fantastic atmosphere, the drinks are great and the staff was wonderful. Highly recommend

Yelp
Tazza D'oro is fantastic! I worked with them for coffee catering and the ownership couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating! They have a great selection of hot beverages and always have a variety of baked goods. It is a great place to head on the weekend to get work done, but since it is the place to go - I typically run in to someone I know and end up getting to catch up with people as well! The seating is limited, so with more than 2 people it is a challenge to get space to sit during the busy times. I also love that they feature local artists. I attended an art show there one evening and it was a lovely community space to celebrate the artist's success!

Yelp
What a sweet little spot in a sweet little neighborhood. I remember thinking if I lived here you would see me here every morning and I'm pretty sure that's how it works with this place. Lots of regulars. The coffee is delicious!! There were a number of hand pours and French press selections it was hard to choose. They all sounded amazing. The pastries were drool worthy. My daughter had the salted caramel brownie and the other a scone. Both were devoured in two seconds flat, so there's that. I on the other hand was looking for a bit of vegan protein which I found in the chickpea salad. It was good. Not fantastic, but did what I was looking for. I would try something else next time. The panini seemed to be a hot seller. Service wasn't fast, but we weren't in a rush. Definitely a great place to do work or read a book. We sat at the tables out front on a lovely Saturday morning watching dogs walk by and people ride their bikes. Very cute neighborhood. A stop at Highland Park after was a perfect way to spend a morning just outside of downtown Pittsburgh.

Yelp
The one thing that blows me away about this place is the massive difference between the outward appearance/impression and the actual experience. By the look from the outside, the name and the general mistique, you picture it being a fancy Italian restaurant. When you go in you realize it has a more homely kind of warm atmosphere. The food is just pre-made salads that sit in a fridge waiting for pick up. Oh, there are some sandwhiches made to order as well, but it is not overly fancy. It seems like just a nice, inviting place to order a quick bite over some coffee. Ah, so most people are going to chat about the coffee on here, which means I get to be the lone person that steps up to the plate and writes about their tea and bites. They serve Rishi tea, which is very high quality flavorful tea. The salads are very nice and very appropriate for a meal on the go. I liked the atmoshpere for a nice quiet place to enjoy your afternoon.
google avatar

Pauline C.

Yelp
I'm usually not a picky coffee drinker...but Tazza has to be my least favorite stop for coffee/espresso. Every time my iced coffee has an odd (and not pleasant) taste that no amount of sugar/creamer can hide. Likewise with the espresso. The best part about Tazza is their banana bread. I could eat it by the loaf. I like their snack options, just wish it wasn't so expensive! Seating is also an issue. It's very hard to find ample seating during peak hours, so be aware of this before you visit. It can also get pretty loud with the outside crowd or if there are people chatting inside. I've tried studying here a few times and had to leave because of the constant distractions.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little neighborhood find, excellent coffee, tea and pastries, the handheld breakfast pies are amazing!!
google avatar

Kirsten H.

Yelp
A nice and quiet little place in Highland Park. I've been here a few times. Their savory scones are AWESOME. Today I got an iced coffee, it wasn't bad. I wish it would have been a little stronger in flavor. It was a bit weak, it looked a lot like tea until I added half and half. The flavor overall was alright. I probably wouldn't order it again anytime soon. The atmosphere here makes up for the weak coffee I had. The staff is always very pleasant. Nine times out of ten there are seats open to hang out and enjoy your drinks. Great outdoor area as well! With shade

Yelp
I visited here on a Saturday around brunch time. It was the start of a long date day with my boyfriend. We sat in the window corner and enjoyed the sunshine, while looking at pamphlets that were out showcasing Pittsburgh's finest. This place is on the smaller side so there may be times where seating is scarce. It has an extremely awesome hometown feel. It seemed like 75% of the patrons were regulars who knew the staff and the other customers sitting around. I tried an espresso macchiato and the pumpkin muffin. The muffin was very moist and delicious. The espresso was actually really good. This was a traditional macchiato with no sweetener. Normally I just have these for a jolt and chug it down, but this one was so smoothe. I actually sipped and enjoyed the flavors. This place is your typical expensive cafe price point, but nothing outrageous. I definitely suggest stopping by, I know I will again.
google avatar

Lily W.

Yelp
I love coming here to do work. This place is a little out of my way but if I'm around the area I always like to stop by. I mostly am writing this review because of their consistent excellent customer service. Their food and drinks are absolutely delicious and you can tell by all these reviews. I just want to give a shout out to the wonderful people who work there. The other day I was so embarrassed forgot my wallet. The staff at the coffee bar told me to not worry about it just come back to pay for it when I get a chance. I really appreciate that. Of course I came back to pay for my drink a week after :-D The atmosphere here is great as well. People love coming here for gathering. This place just gives a very friendly welcoming vibe. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Yelp
I thought "cup of gold" in Italian was a little pretentious when I first stopped here, but it is the title this coffee deserves. I wanted to use my coffee passport here, but was disappointed that my cappuccino was only 12oz. I'm used to big coffee, but big coffee doesn't equal "cup of gold". My entire day changed when I drank this coffee. I was late for work and no one cared. It blocked annoying calls from my phone. This coffee filled my hard, shrunken heart with pure joy. This place is worth a visit if you are in the Highland Park area or if you need a powerful burst of energy and productivity. Normally coffee just allows me to tolerate people, but Tazza D'oro gave me a genuine smile of empathy and admiration to everyone in the 2 hours after consuming their cappuccino.

Yelp
Some of the best coffee in the city. The food is well done for such a small establishment.

Yelp
They have not called back any of the workers they laid off without notice! Shame on them.

Yelp
I loved Enrico's - talented, friendly baristas and excellent coffee. Prior to my 3-day visit to Pittsburgh, I did a few searches to find some places to check out. This place soared to the top of my list and I'm so glad my friends were able to accommodate my wish to spend a little time here to enjoy the coffee. We arrived late afternoon and were able to snag a table in the front area by the side bench. Our group of 4 had a hot chocolate (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/VaQhUU3P4Z5A3oYPsEMbkw?select=uVENzI1bJBnaixbrQhwDxg), 2 small lattes (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/VaQhUU3P4Z5A3oYPsEMbkw?select=b7sSeMMurott79Bf4hK6mA) and 1 medium latte (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/VaQhUU3P4Z5A3oYPsEMbkw?select=UqQ_WNMtHEDrxMpwl6GL6Q) (me). I also had a raspberry truffle biscotti (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/VaQhUU3P4Z5A3oYPsEMbkw?select=63mohShztFN0qKjhFsHFVg). The latte was delicious. Carefully poured, the swirled milk and espresso combination was divine. Oh and the biscotti cookie? One of the best biscotti cookies I've ever had. It wasn't too crunchy actually but the raspberries in the cookie really shone throughout which I loved. The place was filled with other patrons on laptops using wifi so I would imagine this is a great place to get some work done. If I lived in Pittsburgh, I'd make a point to come here often. Since I don't, I will just make a stop at Enrico's a must-do whenever I'm in town.

Yelp
Pittsburgh's definitely got nothing on Seattle when it comes to a good brew but if you look hard enough you'll find a few diamonds in the rough. Tazza D'Oro is one of them. I wont say THE best simply because coffee is such an objective taste but you cannot deny the expertise and care Tazza D'Oro subscribes to. It brings them millions of miles above Starbucks and (gasp) Crazy Mocha. I found out about Tazza D'Oro while browsing the blog of an award winning, internationally recognized barista. He conveniently mapped out his favorite coffee houses around the US via Google Maps. I clicked on PA and zoomed it, not even expecting to see a marker. Surprisingly there was -- only one -- and it was for Tazza D'Oro. Their baristas know how to make the perfect espresso. Once you've done that all of your other drinks fall right into place. They also do french pressed coffee which is a rare treat usually enjoyed at home and, at least in my case, not done nearly as well as it should be. Their pastries and baked goods come straight from one of the 'burgh's best bakeries -- Enrico's in the Strip District; what more could you ask for? I have a longer article on Tazza D'Oro as well as another great coffee shop, Espresso a Mano on my website. http://eatinginpittsburgh.com/2011/02/11/coffee-pittsburgh-part-2/
google avatar

Shivani P.

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying I am one of those bizarre people who does not like coffee. Given that, I consider it a testament to how absolutely wonderful Tazza D'oro is, because one sip of my friend's mocha and I was in silky, smooth heaven. I ordered the hot chocolate, which was every bit as rich and creamy as a hot chocolate should be. On to the food - don't come here if you expect a wide selection of bites to pair with your drink. They only had a few options, but from what I could tell, each one was crafted with love, skill, and just the right amount of sugar. I had a fruit tart (berries and strawberries), which was a delightful combination of tangy and sweet. My friend had a very satisfying chocolate croissant - but to be fair, it's difficult to make a chocolate croissant anything but. I was so impressed that I took home an apple puff pastry and vowed to return posthaste. This is precisely the sort of place in which Elizabeth Bennet would while away a dreary day, were coffee shops accessible in rural, Georgian England. I wouldn't suggest coming with a large group; neither the limited seating nor the ambience is conducive to that. It's quiet and intimate - ideal to catch up with friends or bury your nose in a book.

Yelp
I do recommend their Vanilla Late. It's very delicious. I also had banana cake that was normal. I thought a little noisy and dark inside so I decided to go outside but all the tables and chair were wet. So I had to clean all by myself for me and my friend. The cash service was good though.
google avatar

Mannie S.

Yelp
Just realized that no one mentioned about their chai latte yet. They make their chai from scratch. The best chai I have ever had outside of my indian co-worker's kitchen. The only thing is, since they premade a whole pot, there's no way you can get a cup of skim chai...
google avatar

James K.

Yelp
This, I feel, is more of a personal review, then a general one. Also, I'm aware locals love this place...but I just cannot get on board with that. This place just annoys the sh@t out of me. I can't stand the sizes of cups they have...like they must of smuggled there size small cup from some back ally, low rent cup smuggler, because No legitimate cup company is going to make a 'small' cup, THAT small. It's smaller than ANY small you've ever had, and it's NOT CHEAP! They brew a lot of Ethiopian / pea berry ALL THE TIME...both suck They don't brew decaf, you have to order an Americano, and it sucks...it's a whole building whose soul purpose is selling coffee, you'd think they'd want to cover all the bases. At least offer a decaf pour over or something....Just more pretentious bs! No music. Small tables. The food is okay, for a coffee shop.

Yelp
I stopped in early on a Saturday morning and needed some fuel for a long day of bike riding, and the cycling club meets here to start their ride. I had a great breakfast! I had a panini with egg, spinach, and feta cheese with a side of field greens with a light dressing. The panini was perfect,,and the greens were also topped with feta cheese. And everything was very good. For desert ( yeah I know it was breakfast, but a burned 2000 calories riding!) I had a very tasty cinnamon roll with creme cheese icing. I topped it off with a black iced tea. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food was favorable and prepared just right. I cant help but, wonder if the locals realize what a great little gem they have right here in their neighborhood of Highland Park. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
This place was pretty cool. I mean defiantly felt like a place with a bunch of regulars, but i felt welcome inside. All I got was a cup of coffee and a apple pastry. My mother got a espresso. Both drinks were good, but for being one of the top rated places on yelp, I expected more than what I expirenced. The apple pastry did not seem very fresh, but it was still very good and worth eating. I guess I was just a little disappointed because I expected so much more than what I got.

Yelp
This coffee shop is a great place to stop by and do work or to hang out for a relaxing afternoon. They have a menu of coffee & espresso drinks, teas, and some light snacks. All of the pastries I've tried, especially the snickerdoodle, haven been very tasty! A very no-frills type of place that's very straightforward and efficient! Their coffee is awesome and the atmosphere inside is great, in my opinion. Sometimes, depending on the clientele that day, it can be too quiet and awkward if you're there to chat with a friend, but even then, I've never been made to feel like we're bothering anyone working near us. They have some really nice art up on the walls which appear to be local and for sale. Highly recommended for a stop for anyone in the area!

Yelp
Wonderful place for both great coffee and a cool Atmosphere for working with chill, usually good music and interesting crowd. If I wrote anything more it would be over kill. That's all you need to know. Oh, except it's a good looking crowd and tell them to stay open later at least one night a week!

Yelp
The gem of Highland Park, a marvelous place for local community to gather. The coffee is the best, and it's so different than the big chains. The food is excellent, and the service is friendly. Definitely the best place to go to see your neighbors and friends.
