A few evenings ago four of us went to Tazza because
we knew what to expect. Our guests were from California
and we've been here a few times previously with them and
have always had an enjoyable evening. We've never been
forgotten by the staff, never been ignored and always treated
with respect. Tazza is nicely decorated and appears to be
clean. One reviewer reported seeing a good amount of dust
on the light fixtures. I haven't, fortunately, and that would have
bothered me, but I can't say that diner was incorrect.
My three stars no way reflects on the food or the service,
saying it was A-OK is not a slam in my book. I do think
some of the menu choices are a bit highly priced, but I
just adjust my order. On this particular evening I didn't
want to order angel hair and a meatball once again so
I chose a ten inch sausage pizza. I grilled our server
about it and she told me to order it well done (crispy crust)
and Iwould be happy with my choice. She was right, and
I'll be ordering it again. No other pizzas compare in Homer
Glen, except for the deep dish of Lou Malnati's. My wife had
the lasagna but felt it had too much sauce. It turned out to be
fine. One of our guests ordered the double pork chop that he
was quite happy with. It's a shame that when they packaged
our leftovers they neglected to add his chop and pasta.
Finally, the one thing I find strange about Tazza is that no one's
stationed at the hostess stand to say "Good night" and "Thank you".
It's a simple complaint but I'd like to feel that my business is
appreciated. Oh, one more thing...diners, live your little children
at home. You may think their screaming, crying and running
between tables is cute. Believe me, it's not.
