Very nice atmosphere. I really like white tablecloths on the tables. Typical Italian dishes. Unfortunately, Veal didn't taste like meat. Unfortunately, the cook overdid the breading (the breading was twice as thick as the meat). Delicious white fish - I recommend it. Salmon is also worth recommending.

Google
I wasn’t going to write this review but the dining experience was so bad that I have to. 4 people took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our food in a half empty restaurant at 730pm on a Saturday night. The whole point of going out to eat is to be served, not to be handed a craft of water and pour it myself for the whole table. Maybe it was the wait on the food that ruined the meal but the food was nothing to come back for. The whole dinner took 1 hour and 40 minutes of mostly just waiting. The waitress was nowhere to be found throughout most of the dinner. Ordered an old fashioned and it was straight whiskey and simple syrup. Normally not an issue, but if you’re going to be charging downtown prices for cocktails, I’m not expecting something I’d get at a European banquet hall. I don’t know what just happened, Im still in disbelief.

Google
Called for reservations, the woman on the phone who answered was kind of cold and said "nope" when I asked about separate checks ( they should write this on the menu or website). But when we arrived the server was great. The food took a while though and the busser was too quick to grab our plates when we were eating. He wanted to clean too fast, he took away some of our appetizer.

James G.

Google
Outstanding shrimp appetizer and cheese ravioli. Have it with the Sunday Sauce which is old time thick Italian red sauce that has been cooked with meat and simmered for at least 3-4 hours.

Google
Jamie is amazing! Perfect for our grand daughter’s baptism! Hard worker always a smile on her face. We were a demanding crowd too. She is definitely a keeper.

Brian R.

Google
Jamie was amazing at my grand daughter baptism party! All the guests loved her! She took care of everyone and everything with ease. We own a restaurant in Iowa and would love to have someone like her!!

Donna M.

Google
We enjoyed dirt martini and French martini - wow! We enjoyed baked clams, garden salad, shrimp asparagus risotto and seafood diavalo and to finish pistachio gelato's. Nice evening Dining out

Sherry G.

Google
Everything was wonderful. Food was good, prices were ok, not outrageous. Waitress very nice.

Yelp
0 stars yesterday. Mad at the world lady manager micro managing wait staff very slow service. Server made 6 visits to our table to deliver 2 glasses of wine. We left after salad. Will be taking a long break from Tazza if we even go back. They weren't even busy. Good luck during the holidays

Yelp
We walked in without a reservation and were seated immediately on a Saturday around 5 pm. I appreciate, that there is no music playing in the backgrounds o you can have conversations without raising your voice. There is a television in the bar area though. I ordered an Old Fashioned and it had maraschino cherries and the flavor was not enjoyable. The limoncello spritz was dynamite! Beautiful salads minus the meat. Cheese lasagna with the marinara sauce and the shrimp with asparagus risotto. Sorry for no photos, we enjoyed our food tremendously!

Misty K.

Yelp
Brought some friends here last night and was very disappointed...the food was good but the splash literally splash of wine they give you was ridiculous and the service was horrible, the waitress took for ever to take our order and then my husband didn't even finish ordering before she was on to next person...she seemed bothered that we were there. Maybe she was just having a bad day but still very disappointing, might rethink going back.
google avatar

Yelp
Attended a private event here a few weeks ago- overall had a great experience! They had plenty of wait staff throughout, and food came out hot and efficient for a large group. Some of our table really loved the chicken- overall it was good, and the pizzas coming out before dinner and during was a great bonus- highly recommend a pizza and an aperol spritz here!

Julie

Yelp
This place is terrible. Our waitress was awful. She didn't even tell us the specials. We waited for our food for almost 45 minutes!! We finally get it and it's awful!! worst Italian food I've tasted. No flavor to anything
google avatar

Tiffany W.

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding place! Food, service, and ambiance were all stellar. I have a gluten and roughage sensitivity, so I ordered the steak and asked to have the broccoli replaced with asparagus. My friend was concerned and said, "Remember, this isn't a steakhouse"...so I became a little nervous. However, my meal was beyond amazing! The guys shared a Limoncello dessert cake that they raved about, and everyone loved their drinks and appetizers. Our waitress (Alyssa?) was superb and extra patient. This was like finding a hidden gem, and we cannot wait to go back. Wish I could give 10 stars.

Yelp
Fantastic Resturant! all homemade delicious food! I especially love their homemade Minestrone Soup, it is my go to vegetarian food there. The homemade food difference is really noticeable. The food is not overly garlicky, which is sometimes a risk at an Italian place.....but not here! All the employees are so nice and helpful. Delightful cozy warm welcoming atmosphere. Rooms have big windows, which creates a nice modern vibe, much nicer than a typical dark Italian restaurant. The separate event room is all windows, gorgeous! the owner Rosie is wonderful. she's owned, cooked for, and operated this for 14 years.

Mrs M.

Yelp
We arrived at an EMPTY restaurant and were told where to sit because the seating chart was already made . The private room was hosting a super loud party and they gave us no option but to sit directly next to it. Rude hostess as well. Unbelievable.
google avatar

Jackie F.

Yelp
Always great service; consistently the food has been really special. So many options! So far everything has been exceptional in quality and flavor. The salad dressing was so good we had to get two pints to take home. We got: Lobster Ravioli - EXCELLENT Tilapia Francese over angel hair and spinach - the fish is good fresh, but not edible the next day which was interesting Grilled Calamari - Very fresh Side Salads - One of the best salads that I've had - its all about the dressing THAT BREAD - A++

Yelp
Very nice place. Our waitress Ariel was very kind and friendly! Food is amazing and atmosphere was relaxing! Can't wait to show our staff at woek this place for our Christmas party! Thank you Rose! Looking forward to actually meeting you!

Ellen H.

Yelp
First I will begin by saying that Tazza has been one of our favorite restaurants since they relocated to their currant location. It was our go to place for a really good meal that never disappointed...until yesterday when my whole family went for a Mother's Day meal. After we placed our orders, it took one hour for it to arrive! Two of us ordered the Pork Crown roast. It was so tough that I couldn't even get my fork in it. My daughter ordered the Turkey dinner and was very unhappy with it. Our Waitress brought us our check and left and never asked us if we wanted dessert. We assumed they weren't serving dessert, paid the bill and left! Something has changed...it was not the experience we have always experienced. Such a disappointment!! We won't be returning again. Yelp
If you're planning on going to this restaurant, make sure you check your receipts. I didn't take out order. They charged me a tip and didn't inform me. I told them to keep the product and reverse the charges. It look like they did but it's still on my credit card a week later so now I have to dispute my credit card. This restaurant is totally shady.
google avatar

Waal H.

Yelp
Ordered takeout from them last week I paid over the phone got a transaction notice from bank notifying me that payment went through, they call me back saying that they voided it and that I had to resubmit the payment when I come pick up my order, I let the manager know that the original payment went through I showed the lady working the bar proof the manager then tells me they voided so I was cool about paid them again in cash she tells me it takes at least one business day for the funds to return to your account. It's been a full week. I've called three times and every time I call is so happened that the manager isn't available. I don't know what they're running over there and their chicken Parmesan need a little bit of salt. I had no taste at all.
google avatar

Jill B.

Yelp
Don't go there if you want separate checks. According to our waitress, the entire computer system will crash. Time for a new system. There were 4 of us and we go out once a week to different restaurants. This was # 44 on our list and the only one with an ancient computer system. Then we're told we can use 3 credit cards (there are 4 of us). Then reading the bottom of the menu we see there's a fee of either 18% or 19% (don't remember) if you use 3 credit cards. Foods was ok. We won't be back.
google avatar

Rick S.

Yelp
Wanted the Taggliatelli pasta, but with Joanna's Giambota. NO PROBLEM at Tazza. And excellent fresh ingredients, as usual.

Dixie F.

Yelp
Weve been here a few times before and it went from really good to I can find better. The wait to receive appetizers was long and even longer for the entrees. It was a Wednesday night and the owner stood for the longest time chatting with one table. Ignored the rest of the guests. Some politician she'll make. She looked everyone up and down when they walked in - kind of sizing us all up. Hey be glad we chose here to eat lady! Actually it will be the last time. Server was very nice but not too attentive - 6 tables of people and we all waited and waited and waited. Lots of chit chat going on with the employees around the bar area but left the guests to just sit and wait. Food was just fair and too expensive for a rating of fair. If she wins as mayor - hope she does a better job at that.

Janet K.

Yelp
The service was good even though they were short of help. The Tilapia francese was great. We enjoyed the appetizer with pesto and cheese

Anne O.

Yelp
Service was attentive quick. Bread in the bread basket is so good. Had pistachio chicken- it was amazing! Like can't wait to return to order it again. Was pretty crowded for a Sunday night so I imagine Friday and Saturday nights you might need a reservation.
google avatar

Patrick K.

Yelp
My wife and I ate at Tazza recently and I would say it was just ok. The ambiance was very upscale. The food was very good, however it took a long time to get to our table. The service was terrible. The bar took awhile to notice us while we waited for a table. Our waitress was not much better when we were seated. There were times we didn't see her for close to 10 minutes. We had to wait a long time for our food, which I kind of expected since I ordered lasagna, but when I looked around the restaurant other customers seemed like they were becoming frustrated with the wait as well. When the food arrived our waitress didn't stop by our table to check in to see how we were doing and when we were finished it took forever to get a dessert menu and the check. I don't know if they were understaffed that night, but the service overall was 0 stars for us. The food was fantastic and the prices were fair in my opinion. But you can find other Italian restaurants with better service with food just as good.

Yelp
I called on Wednesday to make a reservation for Sunday at 4:30PM for 10 people for a birthday dinner for my 99 year old mother. Our group grew in size, so I called back on Saturday afternoon seeking to increase the reservation to 13 people. On Saturday I was told that they didn't know how anyone could take a reservation because they would be closed on Sunday for vacation. They offered to honor the reservation IF I WOULD COME ON SATURDAY!!! Needless to say, that wasn't occurring. I can't comment about the food, but the management leaves a lot to be desired. If I could give ZERO stars, I would do that. Had I not called, I imagine that our group would have shown up on Sunday and found the restaurant to be closed. The took my name, phone number, and group size and time, but did not bother to call me back to let me know they could not honor the reservation or that they had made a mistake. Lucky for us, we were able to make a reservation at another restaurant where we had both great service and a great meal. I won't be heading back to Tazza any time soon.

Eric J.

Yelp
I can't believe it's taken so long to enjoy this neighborhood gem. Our meal was fantastic and the service was friendly. Tazza is a great value and great dining experience.
google avatar

Candace M.

Yelp
I was very pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. Was at their old location years ago, was just OK. Decor is very inviting, for an "open dining room" it's set up really nice. I had a hard time making a decision Everything sounded so good. They give you a basket of garlic rolls with an oil dish with spices & garlic, YUMMY. I had 2 Cosmos which were perfect! I had the veal picatta with a side of angel Hair pasta with red gravy, I ate the WHOLE THING. I do have to say the salad that came with the meal was just ok, didn't care for the Caesar dressing . All in all I would return again, I did not expect it to be so good

Pat C.

Yelp
My wife and I come here a few times a year and love the delicious entrees. The portion sizes are huge, enough for a second meal. The service and ambiance are terrific. Thank you for the fine dining experience, it's tough to get out with all the kids activities but this is our go to spot for great Italian food when we do.

Roxanne R.

Yelp
We had about 50 people in attendance for a planned event. Service was great. However, management decided to impose a 4% fee without telling us because we used a credit card. We will not be having any more of our events here.

Yelp
Tazza has been a staple in my family for years. The food is always amazing, waitstaff is always on point and everyone there makes you feel like family. My favorite dishes are the Salmon Grigliata, Chicken Scaparella, Chicken Tazza and the Assorted Seafood dish. Definitely a hidden gem that is hidden in Homer Glen.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Well the ravioli tasted just like Chef Boyardee so there's that. After leaving the city to buy in the burbs, I have been trying to find good italian restaurants. We ordered the pistachio chicken, ziti alla vodka, bruschetta, stuffed peppers, and dessert. No one was happy. Never again. La Dolce Vita is great. We will be sticking to that.
google avatar

Tim H.

Yelp
Delicious food, attentive staff and wonderful atmosphere. We had 3 appetizers, 4 entrees and dessert and everything was amazing. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Last night, I met some friends at Tazza. It had been a while so I picked this place and discovered a couple of changes. First of all, they have a NEW LOCATION. Tazza must have been doing great business because the restaurant is bigger than the original space. The new address is: 14065 S. Bell Road. It's north of the old location. Secondly, the name is now TAZZA ITALIAN RISTORANTE. Not far off from the original name (Trattoria Tazza), but confusing for my friends who I told to look for "Trattoria Tazza." Despite the confusion, we still had a FANTASTIC (and I'm sure fattening) experience. The ambiance was warm, although I do miss the intimacy of the old place. The spaciousness of this new location is better suited towards large groups instead of a quiet date night with your significant other. The food was as wonderful as I remember. We started with bread and olive oil. The oil was flavored with fresh garlic. Yum! Make sure you have some Altoids or gum for later. Next was the fried calamari appetizer - fresh (not rubbery) and perfectly prepared with red sauce on the side. Then a salad with the Italian house dressing was just right. My main entree was a regular menu item --- lobster ravioli with Alfredo sauce. DELICIOUS!!! The pasta was perfectly cooked with tasty bits of lobster filling and the right amount sauce. To complete my meal, I enjoyed some coffee and tiramisu, which shockingly I could not finish. Believe me, I tried but my jeans just wouldn't expand! (NOTE: Wear pants with elastic or drawstrings if you don't think you will be able to control your portions!) Overall, Tazza remains a favorite spot for dining out in the Southwest 'burbs. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
Tazza is a good Italian restaurant...for the South Suburbs of Chicago. From the average food to the average decor, you can't help but feel like you're sitting in a restaurant in a suburban strip mall....oh wait, you are. The fried calamari was very good, especially the sauce that came alongside for dipping. The side salad was, well, average, as was the Ziti with Vodka Sauce and the Shrimp Diavolo. If I was in the area and in the mood for the Italian I might stop back in, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Yelp
A few evenings ago four of us went to Tazza because we knew what to expect. Our guests were from California and we've been here a few times previously with them and have always had an enjoyable evening. We've never been forgotten by the staff, never been ignored and always treated with respect. Tazza is nicely decorated and appears to be clean. One reviewer reported seeing a good amount of dust on the light fixtures. I haven't, fortunately, and that would have bothered me, but I can't say that diner was incorrect. My three stars no way reflects on the food or the service, saying it was A-OK is not a slam in my book. I do think some of the menu choices are a bit highly priced, but I just adjust my order. On this particular evening I didn't want to order angel hair and a meatball once again so I chose a ten inch sausage pizza. I grilled our server about it and she told me to order it well done (crispy crust) and Iwould be happy with my choice. She was right, and I'll be ordering it again. No other pizzas compare in Homer Glen, except for the deep dish of Lou Malnati's. My wife had the lasagna but felt it had too much sauce. It turned out to be fine. One of our guests ordered the double pork chop that he was quite happy with. It's a shame that when they packaged our leftovers they neglected to add his chop and pasta. Finally, the one thing I find strange about Tazza is that no one's stationed at the hostess stand to say "Good night" and "Thank you". It's a simple complaint but I'd like to feel that my business is appreciated. Oh, one more thing...diners, live your little children at home. You may think their screaming, crying and running between tables is cute. Believe me, it's not.

Terri K.

Yelp
We had dinner here the other evening. One of the diners in our party can not eat carbs so he asked for an extra vegetable. He was told there were no substitutions. I have never been to a finer dining restaurant that would not cater to a diner's dietary needs. Also our food took an unusually long time being served. The biggest shock was when we got our bill and there was a 3.99% charge for using a credit card. The waitress never informed us of that policy and we didn't see it anywhere on the menu. While the food, once we received it, was very tasty we won't be returning.

Nana S.

Yelp
By far the best Italian food on southwest side. Great staff, mindful of social distancing and incredible menu and food
google avatar

Virginia C.

Yelp
We have frequented Tazza many times over the years the reason being the food is good and the portions are generous for the price. But lately we have been disappointed in the service. It is really erratic. One time you have an excellent server and food is delivered in a timely manner. The next time you have to send out a flare to get someone to your table or there is a significant delay between courses. And now we learned there is a 3.99% charge to use a credit card! The waitress did not advise us of this and this information is not on the menu. There is a small sign on the hostess desk that we saw on the way out, not when entering since we went over to our party who was already seated when we got there. This is a new policy and should be on the menu so seen before payment. Disappointed . Not worth an extra 3.99%.

Diane M.

Yelp
Called to make a reservation for Sat night....no problems...the food was delicious--- this is our second visit so we decided to try the pizza...ordered buratta ( which came with toasts and on pesto--- wonderful) , pizza was thin and crisp-- perfection, and a cannoli and coffee for dessert... the service was great, the food was great... the restaurant was full.....will come back again!

Yelp
I have enjoyed every meal I have had here There is a nice selection on the menu including pizza, enough items to please most tastes. Nicer than average decor for a casual resturant There is a nice bar and outdoor seating area for the warm weather months. Restroom was nice and in clean condition. I have been pleased with the staff and service.

Sarah S.

Yelp
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!! we waited TWO HOURS for 4 pastas for our family. No one cared to check on our food and didn't care that we sat in the restaurant for AN HOUR waiting for NOTHING to show up. This is the worst service in the area and I will make sure to tell everyone I know never to eat here. I wish I could give 0 stars.
google avatar

Frank C.

Yelp
Nice place, good ambiance, food and service. Not inexpensive ($20 Veal Bolognese) but it is probably the best Italian food in the area. The location doesn't help it stand out. It's in a small mall next to a Wendy's. It hasn't been "found" so you don't generally need a reseWorth a visit.

M A.

Yelp
Going to this restaurant for the first time (3/19/2021) was a great experience- from the pleasant greeting from the hostess to the excellent waitress, having not been to a restaurant for a while due to Covid, makes me want to come back here in the near future. There were 5 in our party and the food was excellent, with lots of choices on the menu and with generous portions, with a normal wait time, and I felt the prices were fair. The ambiance of the place was very nice and when weather permits, they have a very nice patio dining area.

Marty T.

Yelp
Went to Tazza for the first time last night. Sat at the bar with my wife. We were going to split some pasta and hang out for a bit. My wife asked the bartender what he thought was good. He didn't hesitate and suggested the Chicken Pistachio. I really wanted pasta but went with his suggestion. It was DELICIOUS! Maybe the best Italian dish I had in years! That's not an exaggeration. Great food great service.
google avatar

Gloria G.

Yelp
Food was good, ambiance was very nice and the service was ehh. I ordered a drink off the "Happy Hour" menu but when I got my bill the price was not what was advertised. When I asked our server she said "you have to sit at the bar to order off of that menu". Hmmm maybe you could have mentioned that when I placed my order....I politely said, when I mentioned I was ordering a drink off the HH menu you didn't mention that to me. Her reply was "oh, sorry I must have misunderstood you". I paid the regular price but it would have been nice to know ahead of time. All in all, the food was good, ambiance was very nice and I did enjoy my lemon drop martini; but I think I'll just stick to Gattos in Orland and Tinley Park.

Jerry T.

Yelp
Disappointed with the pickup process. When I arrived my order was not ready, in fact, it took some time to just locate my order. When I was leaving I asked for a receipt but all they provided was cc statement without any itemization. When I got home I discovered that an order of soup was missing. However, as always, the food was excellent.

Yelp
So we arrive on 1-2018 to have a quiet dinner. My wife and I love the food here but not too keen on the service. Well, when we arrive at around 5:30 we notice many open tables but are told that we needed a reservation. The lady up front was nice but not budging. She was apologetic but was not gonna season us without said reservation. I've never experienced this before. We told her very politely that we will dine elsewhere. Remember, we were never keen on their service in past experiences. They may never get another chance . By the way , when we went to Rocco Vino's nearby, they were packed and still made room for us . Guess who we recommend

Toni F.

Yelp
Tazza is not far from our house and we visited the original location "Trattoria Tazza" when it was further down on Bell Rd. a long time ago. This was our first visit to the newer spot. When I checked in on Yelp, I was very pleased to see a 15% check in offer. The ambiance in the place is very conducive to the strip mall location it's in - definately not a vibe that will keep people coming back but comfortable and clean. The service was prompt and attentive - we ordered a few glasses of wine and one of the fish entrees that was on the special menu (which my husband said was very good) and I ordered the Escarole, Sausage and Beans and it was marginal. The sausage was flavorful but the escarole and beans were overcooked and a pasty, mess just plopped on top of three pieces of sausage. The side salads that accompanied our entrees were fresh and tasty and of decent size. All in all, the food at Tazza was ok but there are lots of wonderful Italian options that put the "whole package" (food, ambiance, music, service, wine) together very nicely in the same area as Tazza. Because of the check-in offer, I might go back and try a pasta dish or their pizza to see if we missed anything.

Patty T.

Yelp
I want to thank Rose and her wonderful staff at Tazza Italian Ristorante for such a lovely venue for my daughter's bridal shower. Great job to Ashley, David & staff!

Yelp
Quick Tips for your Life... Food -- Enough for leftovers! Tasted homemade - doesn't get any better than this! Service -- Our waitress was kind, polite, and did her job well. Atmosphere -- Plenty of families and a senior citizen hotspot. Wallet -- A bit pricey Water -- No chlorine/city sewage flavors Greeting -- Upon entering Tazza, the hostess/greeter was unfriendly, didn't make eye contact and definitely didn't smile. What a horrible first impression. Details for your life.... Whoever decorated Tazza must really like Mardi Gras clowns. It seems out of place to have clown paraphernalia everywhere, when the overall décor seems more like an evening outdoor patio... maybe the idea came from Venice, Italy. There are tons of masks and clown souvenirs, but it's still a bad decorating idea. Also, there was an alligator outside. The food was superb! Everything was absolutely delicious! I have no complaints about food or service from the waitress. However, it is not worth the trip if you are relying on public transportation and taxis. From downtown Chicago to Homer Glen took approximately 1.5hours, and taxis companies in Homer Glen proved to be incredibly unreliable causing us to miss our Metra train and wait yet another 1.5hours until the final Metra came by

Sylvester B.

Yelp
Ordered a pizza for carry out and was told 1 hour. Asked if there was curbside or in store pickup and ended up being in store pick up. We to pick up after a hour and had to wait 60 min inside the store within close quarters of other patrons. Very dissapointed. Won't be coming back. Should offer curbside pick up if you care about your patrons. Also no discount provided for ppl risking their liives staying in line. Pizza wasn't good either. Seemed like a frozen pizza was put in.

Yelp
We walked in at around 7PM on a Sunday and there was no hostess. We stood by the door waiting for the hostess for about 5 minutes. The food was just okay (we ordered the Tazza chicken and the pistachio chicken). The ambiance was nice, however, we were disappointed with the service. There are better Italian restaurants for the price, we won't be going back.

Colleen E.

Yelp
This is THE BEST Italian restaurant in the area! I'm pretty picky when it comes to spending money and feeling like the meal/experience was worth the price. The atmosphere is lovely. It's a shame people go out to a nicer restaurant in t-shirts, and baseball hats. They don't seem to know the difference between a Home Depot run and a sit down dining experience. Anyway, our server Ann could not have been lovelier! Experienced with warmth and professionalism. Excellent martini, nice thin layer of ice. The bread they bring is crazy good! Have not been eating bread but couldn't resist the warm, fluffy, garlicy squares they bring. Shared a meatball with my hubby and knew this was my kind of place, another garlic forward bite of deliciousness. Almost as good as mine ;) Hubby had chicken parm. and I had the red snapper. It was baked and seasoned perfectly! Another table ordered their pizza and it looked delicious, we said we will have to try their pizza. We ordered last night and it was outstanding! Cracker thin crust and they have zucchini and eggplant and with their sausage,..OMG, fantastic!! So, bottom line everything we ate was phenomenal and we had wonderful service, top quality ingredients and fair prices considering you are getting quality and can feel the love in the kitchen. Sorry we had waited so long to give them a try!

Yelp
The food has been consistently excellent. Beautifully prepared and very tasty. I recommend the asparagus wrapped in prosciutto with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes as an appetizer. You wouldn't think of ordering salmon at an Italian restaurant. But here it was fabulous! And to end the meal, the tiramisu was the best that I've ever had.
