I feel compelled to state that I generally despise pubs, so I'm more surprised than anybody to find that I actually LOVE T.C. O'Leary's! I came here to see a jazz guitarist and singer perform, and was seated at the tiny two-top table immediately in front of the performing area. This made for a very enjoyable show.
The interior is very charming, and feels immediately comforting and "homey". There are few non-alcoholic beverages on offer, consisting of CBD beverages (not interested) and a few non-alcoholic beers. I opted for the latter, and an order of fish and chips.
The bartender who took my order and delivered it to my table was extremely friendly and helpful. The fish and chips come in a cone, with the fish on top. The bartender recommended that I take the cone off of the plate, put the fish on the plate, and eat it that way. I'm happy for the recommendation as I'd probably not have thought of that, and it made eating it far easier. The fish and chips were served piping hot, crispy, and deliciously flavorful.
Between musician's sets, the owner (Tom O'Leary) plays music over the house speakers, and plays some AMAZINGLY great stuff (I'd never heard Inspiral Carpets in any public establishment anywhere until I came here).
I've never been to a pub in Ireland, but if this is what they're like, I TOTALLY get the appeal! T.C. O'Leary's is an awesome pub, and I'm really looking forward to my next visit.
