Tea and Coffee House Helmi

This place is one of a kind. It looks like an old but precious doll house. We tasted the original Runeberg cake and a delicious cup of tea. The staff was so kind, I recommend it if you want to live an experience that takes you back in 1900.

Cozy environment with traditional music, decor and serving style. One of the most authentic experiences in Porvoo. Must go if you like coffee in a relaxing environment deep inside a silent crowd.

This famous shop serves Runeberg tarts all year round. The showcase was full of beautiful, colourful cakes, but I still chose the Runeberg tart. I was thrilled to find that this was far more delicious than I had expected. The raspberry jam went very well with the spiced cake, and although it looked simple, it was very profoundly delicious. The tea, Porvoo Blend, was also very good with a fresh berry flavour. The period feel of the shop and the friendly, classy staff warmed my heart and soul.

What we liked: the lattes. What we didn't like so much: the cake. It was a bit hard and sweet for our taste. That said, we enjoyed a relaxing evening in the Cafe. The environment was cosy despite the crowd during our visit. Service was alright - the young lady who served us was pleasant and friendly.

A lovely cafe with good selection of cakes and teas. Their tea gallery is right next door. A good place to try the Runeberg cake according to our tour guide and it was delicious. I gave 4 stars because the cakes are all too sweet to my taste.
