"This eclectic spot serves tea, coffee, beer, and pastries while hosting regular live performances and serving as a marketplace for local vendors selling vintage products, jewelry, and other goods. There are plenty of outlets and good WiFi for those looking to work. Early risers best head elsewhere, though; it opens at 11 a.m." - Alona Martinez

"Tea with a side of literature? Such is the case at Sunset Place’s Tea & Poets. The coffee shop turns into a poetry reading venue several nights of the week, but visitors during the day can hit up the cafe’s complimentary wifi, coffee, teas, and plenty of snacks to keep the literary juices flowing." - Greyceli Marin, Olee Fowler

This place is a local favorite. Is very quiet and interesting. They sell some jewelry and a few clothes for women along with candles, stones ( for decoration purposes) and incense. They don’t have a big menu selection and what they do have is not good neither bad. I do love their blueberry muffins. They have trovas here once in a while Overall is good for a relax cup of tea or coffee

Google
Have enjoyed coming here in the past, but stopped in today to buy loose leaf tea and was very disappointed. All of their teas are available on 3rd party ordering apps, so I almost placed an order for around $200 to go pickup in store. I was in the area so I stopped by instead and was told that they were unable to make the sale because they are unable to weigh the teas. I asked if they were able to sell even a small amount of tea using another method of measure, but again, I was told I could not purchase anything- and they have no idea when it would be available to purchase again. A funny situation for sure- myself, standing there with cash in hand, and being told I cannot purchase the product sitting behind the counter. Still disappointing because I was so looking forward to having a local shop to purchase loose leaf teas.

Google
I work near by this place and just recently a friend invited me to get one of their teas. Absolutely delish!!! So far my favorites are berry beautiful and blueberry mojito. Very nice ambiance, indie music in the background and quiet. They also have little boutiques and books to read. You can go with friends an enjoy complimentary board games as well . The guy behind the bar is very nice!!! Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

Google
What a hidden jem 💎! Great place for locals to just come and chill. They have board games, open mic nights and handmade crafts plus great tea. Would recommend it if you are looking for a place with a welcoming vibe.

Tea & Poets is a great, casual, local hangout spot for various age groups; a lot of teenagers and college students hang out there after school or to study, and there are usually families coming and going as well as individuals just reading there. Its close to a Barnes & Noble and they do have books and games available for anyone. There are also a few outlets for people studying, and a large table with a big charger for studying and working. There are food options that they get from elsewhere, but I've also seen people bring in their own snacks. Their selection of teas and tea mocktails is fairly far ranging which gives you lots of chances to try out different options. There's also a secret menu 😝 but that's a little harder to get hold of. There are open mic nights on wednesdays and the big chalkboard calender in the front entrance of the store lists days they have live performances, trivia nights, and other events; their instagram is also worth checking to get a feel for the events and ambience.

Google
Great place. A little bit of everything. Quiet during the weekday for tea and reading or using laptop. Varied events evenings and weekends including live band. It's also a marketplace for different vendors ie. Sunglasses, apparel, varied goods. Spacious. We can see how families with kids stop by as there are not many kid friendly stores in the mall. This is at Sunset shops. Great outdoor patio facing fountain and staircase.

Google
Updating my review because the last time I left a review here was 7 years ago!! I’ve been coming to Tea & Poets a long time. It’s an amazing place with a great atmosphere - perfect place to get coffee / tea and sit down to read or work / study for hours. There’s plenty of outlets around and work tables and couches. They have an active calendar with lots of events such as open mic nights or DnD game nights. It’s an awesome little gem in Miami and so happy they’re still around after years.

Google
Amazing atmosphere and awesome people to chill with. I love the aesthetic and everything about it! Will come again soon. And they have awesome crystals and jewelry sections and have events Wednesdays!

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times and have tried different teas they offer and they are all delicious! I tried their mojito and it was very tasty. They have sellers inside with different things for sale (jewelry, clothes, sunglasses) it's very enjoyable and they offer different activities and events throughout the month! Overall I love this place and the service is always phenomenal

Yelp
What an interesting cute place. Came here after lunch craving some tea. Tried the chocolate mountain--wasn't sure if it would end up more creamy like an iced chocolate latte or more resemble tea, for me it resembled tea more. Chocolate flavor was definitely strong though. Also the store had an array of cute jewelry and accessories. I ended up getting a claw clip for $6 and a mix of 4 postcards/stickers for $2. Staff were nice and friendly. Seems like a cool place to study or drop in on their open mic nights. Definitely enjoyed stopping by!

Catherina F.

Yelp
A cute little nook in sunset place. They sell beer, sake, coffee and teas. I love all of that so definitely wanted to give it a try. They have open mic some nights. It's so chill and pretty in there. I love the vibes. The barista was so sweet and attentive. We ordered a Nutella coffee and a caramel macchiato and she personally handed it to us where we sat. So so sweet. There's a bunch of jewelry, clothes and accessories to check out. I'm so glad this mall has this spot because I will be coming back very soon. I can't believe it's taken me this long to walk in. Love everything about it. Fingers crossed that this shop stays forever!!!!! It's literally what's keeping the mall afloat.

Yelp
Tea & Poets is an amazing place! I have been coming here for years for tea after working out and sometimes as a place to work/study. They have a great tea selection, but the best part of this place are the people who work here. They have always been friendly and available for recommendations, even if it's a combination of several available teas. The shops are cute and have good variety. They are great if you're looking to support local vendors. The ambiance is fun and welcoming, but it's respectful too if you're looking for a place to do some work. I've only been to one open-mic night (unintentionally), but it was a lot of fun and the people who performed were very talented.

Yelp
On my search for coffee shops in South Miami I stumbled upon this cute place. It's definitely a younger high school/college vibe. I really liked how they have a lot of jewelry, clothes, candles, miscellaneous items around the shop form local artists. There are an array of drinks and food items you can order. I got an alfajor and it wasn't that bad. I really liked how they have open mic nights and events during the month. Cute place if you wanna relax, play some board games, and drink a coffee with friends.

Tania J.

Yelp
Great vibe and drinks! Service is friendly and the shop has some really cool stuff. Definitely recommend for all ages

Maggie M.

Yelp
It's a nice, relaxing ambience. There's also music some days. They serve coffee, tea and wine. Really worth a visit.

Steffany S.

Yelp
Their tea is soooo good and the vibes are so chill I loved my peaceful little breaks there and their sandwiches were so good

Yelp
I used to live by Sunset Place years ago. This was my first time back to Miami in awhile so I wanted to do a little scavenger hunt of places I used to go to and live in when in Miami. So I stopped at my old apartment and walked over to Sunset Place. This mall used to be my hangout on a Friday or Saturday morning. I would grab a coffee and breakfast sandwich from the Barnes & Noble Cafe while reading a book or a magazine, walk around the mall or go see a morning matinee at the AMC across the way. So a lot of happy memories here. The mall over the years has gone down hill and a lot of closed shops inside, however; I stumbled across Tea & Poets which is a place I would have frequented all the time if I lived there when this venue opened. It had a cute bohemian type store in addition to the cafe that had a variety of specialty drinks and some pastries. The guy working there was very friendly and helpful. Also, they had open mic nights, which I love. A great find! I hope the mall revives and keeps this place in business.

Michelle S.

Yelp
The place is really cute and I could see it would be fun to hang out. However, the matcha latte was depressing. Almost $7 for just latte and tiny bit of matcha. I couldnt even taste the matcha and the matcha wasn't blended completely at the bottom. They do have nice tea selection but the quality of the match was not good . They use Silk Plantbased milk. Not the best either.

Felix F.

Yelp
Awesome place to hangout on Sunday evening. At 7pm the place host amateur stand up comedy. They have drinks and food too. Make sure to order something here while watching a show it will mean a lot to the people in this establishment.

Monique K.

Yelp
This place is really awesome. They have the whole ambience going with the menu, the vendors and the ambience. There are no complaints. All of the workers are super on top of their service.

Harry S.

Yelp
My unbiased review. When running a business and trying to make everyone happy you will not make everyone happy . With that said I would not recommend this for actual artist but more musicians and shower singers . Heads up, your performance is expected to be under 4 minutes there is no cursing and no religion and politics.. that they may disagree with. Great place for just hanging out and watching though

Alexander P.

Yelp
Definitely an interesting and welcoming space. They have so many different from jewelry to incense. I have gotten tea here several times and I always find to be a pleasure. Unlike other places that just use run-of-the-mill tea bags, they use high-quality looseleaf tea for their tea beverages. Along with the quality of their tea, the team members are great. They are warm and informative.

Monica C.

Yelp
tried the matcha tea latte and was off-put by how incredibly sweet it was. To be fair, the description does say it includes vanilla syrup and I don't typically take sugar in my coffees or teas so I was not prepared for the intense wave of sweetness. It was my first time visiting and I was initially greeted with great service and kindness. I took a few sips and went back to ask for a remake; I apologized for not knowing the drink would be so sweet and if I could have some kind of replacement drink. The barista told me the only way they can make me a new one was if I bought a whole new drink. Mind you, I also swapped the milk for a plant based one so to buy another drink just to enjoy a little drinky drink while I got my work done in their space sounded preposterous to me ! I walked away with disappointment and won't be going back. It wasn't even the barista's fault, they were nice and just doing their job in following store policy but like, what if i was allergic to sugar... You seriously can't make me another one unless I spend DOUBLE just because I didnt know better?! IN THIS ECONOMY?!!?! No. Thank You.

Yelp
That moment you walk into a place and you just know it's going to sell all the things you love. The vibe is laid-back and chill. Every piece of clothing and jewelry represents something special about the creator and tells a little story. The art on the walls compliments the handcrafted jewelry. The stones and crystal hold a vibe of their own. I'm sure you'll find a piece to take home. I found a couple of things that I just had to buy and a few that I made a note to come back for. There are plenty of seats for you to relax, grab a bite, a drink, bring your laptop and get your work on. And live entertainment will keep you and your friends entertained for the evening. Check out their calendar to see what's coming up for the month, it's posted on their website and on the wall as soon as you walk in. I took my time and shopped, and enjoyed the calm, cool vibes. It's just that kind of place. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE PLACE WITH POSITIVE VIBES. This is a real gem of a place that is a hub of community for the local scene. Wednesday nights are their open mic events which draw a lot of talented performers (musicians and poets) who are a blast to watch. Thursdays they host a Board Game Night. What I love about this place is the positive energy. They are drawing people who are like minded in building community with their neighbors. Definitely order some tea and try out some of their featured beers. Bring friends and chill for a couple hours. It's the kind of place you'll want to savor with friends.

Sharay S.

Yelp
A beautiful shop with lots to browse around in from local artists. The drink selection was good, and I overheard the barista talk with a customer that they are known for the matcha. I would want to get that next time. Lots of tables and outlets to work in. The barista surprised me that he wasn't wearing a mask at all, even though I was under the impression that it was still a mandate to wear masks inside businesses at that time. That left me feeling much more on edge since he made my drink. I wish I had asked him why he was doing that but i unfortunately won't be returning until the pandemic ends because of this lack of following the mandate.

Ashleigh K.

Yelp
I really loves the place walking in... however they have the word "tea" in their name so I expected the tea to be good.... We got two iced teas; one was blueberry mojito.. I forgot what my husband got because the only flavor that came through was sugar... They were both too sweet, that "make your teeth feel like carpet" type of sweet and gave us both headaches.... there was not even a minty flavor to mine... Their coffee menu is more accurate to that of starbucks; the barista kept telling us "wellllll the machiato is really a latte; etc.... super depressing .

Briana A.

Yelp
When I walked in, I got called ghetto and nobody wanted to take my order. You shouldn't come here unless like getting belittled

Cynthia Lissette C.

Yelp
I have walked pass this spot a million times .. and what a shame because it is an awesome spot to grab some Tea and chill on the sofa and relax to read a book or meet up with friends. So glad to have found this little spot it will be my go to for tea !

Jose T.

Yelp
Inside of what was once a thriving but is how a half empty dying mall is what I consider to be a true find. While strolling the south miami art festival we wondered the mall and stumbled onto this place. It's very hard to classify it but is a light, bright space that is somewhere between a live music venue, a clothing store and jewelry store. I'll admit that the girl that was perfuming may well be what drew me in and kept me here. She was amazing and if there is a god will be a well known singer/musician. When in and she was singing an awesome ballad and was soon joined by her friend on violin and second friend on guitar. I would hav

Yelp
Nice place but smelled like a literal homeless shelter. Musty and piercing body odor smell to this place. I had to leave because of it.

Neil C.

Yelp
We randomly stopped by Tea & Poets on a Friday night as they were having Open Mic night and this place was packed. We arrived and found some very young kid bands rocking their socks off. I'm pretty sure their parents were there cheering them on as well. The kid bands took turns after a song or two each. They were all so good and entertaining that I'd come back for more. Tea & Poets has been around for some time now and they seem to have a lot of events like this Open Mic night. Pretty awesome as it exceeded my expectations.

John V.

Yelp
My family and really enjoyed visiting this store at Sunset Place. We walked in and browsed around before settling at a table and bought some drinks, Tea & Coffee. We sat and chatted and no one bothered us. I really appreciated that laid back style to the store. There are many items for sale on the shelves, from local artist and vendors trying to market their small-batch products to others that are established. The staff are extremely friendly and approachable. That made us feel so comfortable to be there, not fussy at all. They have an eclectic, hipster vibe; and I say that in every positive sense of the word. They have performance on their stage every Wednesday from 6p to 11p. Anyone can sign up and perform their talent for free. Wanna get discovered? Yes!

Ciri D.

Yelp
I really wanted to give this independent tea and coffee house a five star rating. I've made a decision to not visit any of the chain coffee houses and to support local businesses. The pros: The space is very colorful with different vendors all along the store. They have art, clothing, jewelry and other items for sale. I had a carrot cake cookie and it was delicious. The staff is friendly. They have open mike on Wednesday nights. I did not get to enjoy this event. The cons: The smell of incense is overwhelming. I don't think an eatery should ever have burning incense. The carrot cookie was the size of a quarter. I'm not a big eater but this was ridiculously tiny. The air conditioner was on the warm side. The Americano coffee did not taste well; I could not put my finger on it... We will not be returning to this establishment.

Garrett H.

Yelp
Very cute and unique place! This location serves coffee, tea, beer, and wine, and doubles as a cute boutique store. They also have events like live music and open mic nights. Also available are books and board games, so this place really has something for everyone! I ordered the Nutella macchiato against my better judgment that it might be too sweet for me. I also got a piece of lemon cake. The macchiato was actually disappointing in that it was pretty not sweet. It tasted mostly like a regular coffee with slightly more sweetener in it. The lemon cake was dry, but had good flavor. Overall, I would probably come back for an event or to take advantage of the board games and fun space, but I wouldn't come back just to get a coffee and a treat.

Ronald J.

Yelp
Great spot. We have been here three times and they have plenty of nights with great entertainment. A must try for anyone in the sunset area.

Nik R.

Yelp
Nice vibe, however, the coffee is quite poor. I do not recommend buying coffee from here. I do recommend bringing your laptop here to sit around and listen to the ambient music.

Ismary G.

Yelp
What a lovely place. Love the owner ! So service oriented. Remembers You everytime you come in. They have eclectic items here from cool sunglasses to T-shirt's to bracelets , necklaces. Special stones and even great performances. Their beer selection is amazing because it has Beers you don't see anywhere else. Now let me tell you about a sweet employee , Sara. She has the best smile , she bends over backwards to please your experience and if you are looking for something special in jewelry she will call the jewelry maker and ask if it could be done. You will find the cutest bracelets , earrings etc. Norma is the artist behind a lot of the cute , beautiful bracelets , earrings etc. You will really enjoy this place and Sara ..thank you for making sure customers are happy.

Jen W.

Yelp
Wandered in tonight after a movie, and there was a young lady singing a beautiful song on stage. Turns out it was open mic night. The shop was packed and the drinks and snacks were good. I tried the carrot cake cookie. It hit the spot!

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Wow I specifically came here because I love tea and the vibe looked cute on yelp. Got an oolong tea and it was scorching hot. They burnt it! Took literally over an hr before I could sip on it (granted the lid was on because I was driving) but that's ridiculous. Also the taste had some weird fruity hints to it. I've had a lot of oolong in my life being Chinese and I would not want to drive over just for their tea. Parking is $3 within the first hour. Not horrible but it was disappointing that I came just for tea ....and basically paid $7 for parking and tea. If you're I'm walking around in the plaza and want tea, you could stop by and check it out - just get it iced

Andrea V.

Yelp
What a great concept to enjoy good music, healthy bites a good drink, and find exclusive products from designers and unique mini shops. This Cousy place has different areas to seat down, they have a calendar of activities for the month, including live music, and friendly staff which is always a plus. We enjoyed a Friday 8:00 pm live singer concert while having a Pinot noir. They make fresh sandwiches and have gluten-free options. If you want to go back on time, bring your quarters to play PAC-Man (1 or 2 players). Did I mentioned Wednesday's is Open Mic? You can't miss it. If you are in Shops at Sunset Place coming to Tea & Poets is a must.

Jenny E.

Yelp
Went here with my best friend and had a great experience! The young lady taking our order gave us some great recommendations that were perfect! I got a Thai Tea Latte and she got a Macha Tea Latte. Both were absolutely delicious! We also shared a vegan s'mores cookies which was absolutely amazing and a mini carrot cake cookie pastry which was so decadent! We will definitely be back for tea and board games! This was was super cute from the moment we walked in!

Glenda I.

Yelp
Nice cozy place to come and study. I had the Lion's Mane mixed tea and it is very tasty, I'd recommend it iced. The worker was very friendly and helped me understand the menu since it was my first time.

Michelle A.

Yelp
Tea & Poets knocked it out of the park with their mocktail tea concept. Thus far, I've tried two out of their creative menu using tea as their inspiration for these delicious drinks that are perfectly curated towards the teas they used. My favorite? Catch the Bouquet. It has a Bouquet of Flowers tea, lemon juice, elderflower, and Angostura biters. The drink has depth and tanginess, and isn't too sweet. They really got it right with this one. I highly recommend it. I've also tried the Blood Orange Basil. Light notes of basil, blood orange bitters, lemon juice, with the undertones of English breakfast tea. Tasty as well. The store itself is a bit crowded and has a lot going on, but cute nevertheless. It's nice to come in when there's like music or poetry. It's best to come on $3 Tuesdays. Great spot to come to after or before watching a movie.

Sofia R.

Yelp
This is the cutest store in south Miami. They have so many vintage things and local sellers. They change up their products all the time. They have a variety of teas and now serve beer and wine! Their jewelry is my absolute favorite. They have open mic Wednesday nights too, it's a very cute store and highly recommend.

Wendy A.

Yelp
Tea and Poets it's located in the sunset place here in South Miami. Great for all ages Comfortable and very colorful. With a very good selections of teas and food. The people working here was amazing, happy and nice with their guest, always trying to help and accommodate everyone. They have different events and you can check them out on the website or the social media, I'm signed up on and I receive monthly newsletters with this information. They have a few vendors selling, accessories, shoes, clothes, candles and more. I saw a couple of kids playing board games which I thought it was adorable considering the fact that we are in winter break and it's cold outside, I'm taking my daughter next time with her friends. I enjoyed my time here, Thank you!

Aldana A.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem in the sunset place. If you want a place to chill and get some work done while in a comfortable atmosphere this is the spot. There are plenty of seats with suitable tables to get your work done. Plenty of outlets as well if you need to charge which is a worry of mine while getting work done. The drinks here are surprisingly good. I got a type of berry iced tea. It was so refreshing. I highly recommend this spot as a change from the standard coffee shops around sunset. I want to check out the open mike and poetry nights also.

Danielle R.

Yelp
Super cute spot! I really enjoyed my visit here. Live music, amazing teas, beautiful art, what more could you want! Great space for social gatherings, large groups!

Meredith B.

Yelp
Visited for the first time last week and was greeted warmly. Love the vibe. Unique ambiance. I was just going to grab a drink and leave but I decided to stay awhile because the customer service was excellent and the overall layout of the spot was impressive and inviting. Emilio who was serving the drinks came over and greeted me. I grew up in miami and have been to many a hot spot, but I have to say this is my new fave. Looking forward to going back. The matcha shot I had was delicious. Hope this place survives and prospers for a long time to come.

Mia W.

Yelp
Absolutely my new hangout study spot! The teas all smelled delicious and the blueberry margarita iced tea was perfection. All the merchandise and art being sold in the shop just added to my love for this place. Can't wait to go back!

Ingrid G.

Yelp
This spot is fast becoming one of my new favorite hangouts. Situated in the center of Sunset Place near the little grotto, it is a prime location with lots of outdoor seating by the fountain. I had been following the IG account before I ventured to go in, and what actually won me over was the fact that they allow dogs inside. (That alone sold me.) When I finally got to go, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly, and the drinks are delicious. When you take a look around, you'll not only find a place to have some refreshments -they also carry some pastries and snacks- but goods from various local artisans & vendors. Stuff like succulent plants in homemade vases, candles, jewelry, etc. They also seem to have cool stuff happening every night of the week: open mic nights, painting, creative writing workshops. I haven't been to anything yet, but I will definitely be coming back in the future.

Ladell F.

Yelp
Very nice location for studying. The server was very nice and cute aka great personality. The set up and structure of the business is nicely done as part of the shopping plaza. The items they sell are useful for the type of people that come in and the gaming choices really make you want to stay a while. Definitely worth a second visit.

Emma J.

Yelp
LOVE! I loveeeee tea! Obsessed with tea, drink tea every single day love tea! So when I heard this place was opening up in Sunset Place mall I was thrilled! They have the best teas, and a large variety of it! Besides making banging teas, they have a ton of items such as clothes, shoes, jewelry, candles, creams, etc. besides being a local shop where you can plop down play chess with other consumers or the owners themselves or read a book, or join in on their wine and paint nights, this place is defiantly a place you must check out! They also sell coffee, sandwiches, & baked goods. Just do yourself a favor and just go check this joint out, you won't regret it... and you can thank me later!

Yelp
Love this shop/cafe ! Hadn't been back for about 2 years, and felt the warmth and love all over again. Plan on coming back for open mic night, and just for feelin good ! Lots of hand crafted goodies, unique face masks, jewelry, artwork, clothing, smudge bundles, incense. Love it all

Belle S.

Yelp
This place is great ! It's so hipster that I felt like I was in Los Angeles. I only recommend going to this place if you want a good real tea place. They are environmentally friendly ! And I feel like they support local businesses. My best friend and I came here after a little cruise around Miami after our flight. We thought this place would be great to just relax & wait for someone to get off a flight at the airport. We also thought that we can go to this place to do some studying, But it was loud. So, it's literally a place for people to just hangout and chill with friends while enjoying a good cup of tea.

Beatriz L.

Yelp
Ericka G has been telling me about this cool store that we had to check out so we took a drive to South Miami and this was our first stop. I think we were in this store for about an hour looking around at all the cool stuff that they have. On top of having clothes, accessories, candles, and organic natural creams for your skin, they make the best teas as well. When you walk in they have tables and couches so you can lay back and enjoy the cozy feeling of the store. A stage is present because on Wednesdays the have an open mic night so you can read a poem or even sing a tune. The owners and staff are very friendly and will help you with anything your looking for. I will definitely come back on a Wednesday to enjoy open mic night. Finally a place that has a little love in their store without feeling the commercial hype.

Ericka G.

Yelp
After reading about an open mic night here I knew I had to check it out. I even looked at other reviews and pictures and loved what everyone was saying and how this place was set up. So let me just say we came on a Tuesday only to be told it's only on Wednesday, lol. But it was all good as I enjoyed the store itself and it gave us time to look around and explore. It's so eclectic. I loved how it's an open space with so much to look at. There are seats and tables and couches that are different, all placed surrounding the center stage. Graffiti decorates some of the walls, canvas' and other artwork. They sell a variety of teas, natural skin products, plants, jewlery, apparel, shoes, and more. All products are from local artists which is amazing to bring the community together. Now the list of teas are from all parts of the world. They have samples at the counter to smell to help make a decision or to ask questions about. And populae to believe the variety of teas are both cold and hot so there's something for everyone here. The day we came the tea of the day (free samples are available)was a black mint. It was so refreshing that I ordered a large. The owner(he was super handsome and sweet) there at the time let us know most of the tea drinks did not come with sugar which is an extra plus. They also sell pastries and other goodies. While we were there alot of people were just having a nice time looking around, chatting on the couches enjoying tea and some pastry. This place is perfect to come with a great book, grab a tea, and make yourself at home on the couch or other seating they have.
