Brew Dr. Will Close All of its Oregon Tea Shops | Eater Portland

"Opened in 2006 by Matt Thomas on Alberta Street, the first Townshend’s Tea had shelves stacked with dozens of jars of loose‑leaf teas listed in hefty booklet menus and aimed to serve tea in all its forms — boba, pots of chai, and eventually kombucha. Over time the shops tightened their tea lists to become kombucha destinations first and foremost, and this Alberta location is scheduled to close on Oct. 18 as the company shutters its statewide teashops and clears out loose‑leaf inventory; by the end of the year Brew Dr. Kombucha will be all that remains of Townshend’s Tea." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

I often get the red bull drinks here which I enjoy. I tried the jasmine tea with boba today and asked the staff if it was strong enough to taste the jasmine and they assured me it was. Sometimes I get double shots but they don't do that here. I am happy to report that the employee was correct and it was quite nice. I could taste the floral hints in the jasmine that can sometimes be lost if not strong enough. They have a nice seating area, some uno cards and an accessible ramp.

Our kid loves this place. Great tea options. Lots and lots of flavors, topping, blended, milk tea, egg waffle, hot. Lots of adjustments for your flavor. Never a long wait and friendly service. We love the atmosphere here, great place to visit.

I ordered an avocado smoothie with 25% sugar. When I got it, it was full of ice chunks! I asked if it could be blended more and the lady said that the ice chunks are because there is less sugar. She said that the sugar usually acts as a binder. She did not offer to blend it for longer. While, this may be true that sugar helps act as a binder, avocado is a very creamy binding ingredient as well. I can't believe their blenders would not be sharp enough to blend up the ice chunks, even if there is less sugar! I spent more than $7 on something that is not fun to chew.

We went here to grab some drinks after lunch down the street. The inside was nicely decorated. I ordered the Strawberry Mango iced tea. I couldn't really taste the flavors of both fruits.

I love bubble tea , I’ve been here a couple times before and haven’t had too many problems . This time I walked to Tea & tea craving a bubble tea in 80 degree weather. I was super disappointed when I got on the bus just to taste the nastiest mini bobas I’ve ever tasted I mean it ruined my whole drink . It tasted like the bobas sat in the sink for 24hours with no proper care. Of course I wasn’t going back it’s hot outside . Super disappointed.

Yum! Hot day + T&T slush = 🤤😃. Didn't need any sweater or boba for mine. Very good and cold.

Got a blended avocado with boba. The blended smoothy was delicious but the boba themselves did not deliver. I was concerned as I often find chains just don’t get the boba right. And I think I was right. They are not sweet, taste bland, and are slightly firm in the middle. If the quality of the boba is important to you I would try somewhere else.

Our second time in TNT and our second time where they didn’t have the item we wanted to buy (Tiger Waffle) also even our second choice (a blended tea, I forgot what my daughter chose) item wasn’t available. The item that we did end up picking (Mango Strawberry iced tea) was bitter and did not taste good.
