In a nutshell; has one of the best egg tarts I've ever had in recent times, good food overall Parking is a pain though considering it is downtown area, they have a small lot for parking next to the building but I'm sure that may get filled up in busy times. The food, dim sum, and egg tarts were all great. Servers were all accommodating. Place has a lot of tables and can sit a number of parties. Designed like most dimsum places. Overall great experience.

Food is authentic and delicious. Price is reasonable. Interior is clean and cozy. If you like Cantonese dim sum, this is the place to go.

No yall aren’t getting it… this place is operating on another level. Beef chow fun is not to be messed with and these folks killed it. Pork dumps and shrimp dumps will have me coming back. And, FOR ME, the stroke of genius was the broccoli with oyster sauce. A favorite dish in general, but the broccoli leaves were especially saucy and delicious. You need to be eating here. Tea Cup Cafe… yeah, light the beam babes. It’s so good.

Tasty salt + pepper green beans with fried chiles. BBQ pork and orange chicken were decent. Jiaozi dough kind of thick but filling and sauce were nice. I ordered takeaway on a Thursday. I didn't get the $5.50 dim sum prices on any of the dishes. I wish they gave an itemized receipt. Maybe it's only dim sum if you eat-in? I'll try again next time before I make a final decision.

Delicious food and great service! The flavors were authentic, portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. The staff was attentive without being pushy, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. Definitely a place I’d come back to for quality Chinese cuisine.

Google
Most dim sum places we've been to in HCOL areas, $5.50 would be a modest small dish with some morsels on the small side. When the food here arrived here, not only were they high quality (below for details), the portion sizes were eye bogglingly large by our standards. Also considering what some other restaurants in this city charge for dishes, the dim sum here and insane value. We had ordered something like 8 dishes because that would have been one meal for two where we've been, so we ended up taking back three boxes! Some of the dishes didn't qualify for the Mon-Thur discount, I'm not sure how it works, but even so, it feels like everything is heavily underpriced for the quantity, quality, ambience, and service. The same size dishes would be at LEAST double what we were charged here. The turnip cakes were huge - perfectly seared and crispy on the surface and turnipy and soft inside. The potstickers were two of the biggest potstickers I've seen. Like empanadas basically. The two alone would be great for a single meal imo. Because they were so big, the breading was a bit thicker, but that made the ratio perfect bc it's a giant meatball inside. The salt and pepper squid was not too salty per another review - perhaps they saw the review bc it actually seemed a bit undersalted, which was fine because there were plenty of dipping sauces provided from all of the dishes. The sweet meat "bbq pork" and green beans were top notch, and I really wished I had the appetite to have more of the sesame balls while they were fresh because it is best that way - shell so perfectly crispy crunchy and mochi/sweet red bean paste inside. I have had better soup dumplings (at more specialized soup dumpling places), but the ones here were good too, just not the star of the show. I can't speak to how these same dishes would taste via take out, particularly the fried foods that do not transport well in closed boxes. They also serve chrysanthemum tea if you do not want caffeine late night, which I appreciated. Atmosphere is good. Not linen napkin fine dining, but tastefully decorated and well within what you'd expect at this price point. They have large tables for bigger groups as well. The silken Chinese embroidery artwork on the far wall is worth a peek if there aren't diners under it - even the calligraphy is embroidered (pics below)! Loved this place, great value for excellent food and friendly service.

Had to stop in and get the steamed yellow cake! Haven't had it in years. Just as good as I remember. Also had some dim sum dishes. The picture is of half of what I ordered.

Google
I would not have known tea cup cafe is a dim sum place if someone didn’t recommend it to me lol! It seems very authentic for the most part, everything was very tasty, and it was all super affordable too! We came in here like let’s go all in splurge for my bday dinner!! and left extremely full with just a $35 bill. It’s nice places like this still exist. Good asian food that isn’t painfully marked up. Great Soup dumplings, the largest I’ve ever seen. Good xiu mai and har gow. Nice and dense. Quality tasting. Okay spare rib with black bean.. Pretty awkward to eat because the meat does not come easily off the bone. For dessert, great Sesame balls, larger than normal. They come hot with a super crisp shell and a satisfying chewy texture inside, definitely try it if dining in! We wanted to try their egg tart but they didn’t have it that day, maybe next time! Lastly, the lobster turnovers. Really annoyed i fell for the review hype. I mean how can I resist when someone was even saying they drive from far away for this lol! It was our most expensive dish and the worst value in my opinion. Very deep fried. Took one bite. Luckily my partner finished the rest, but he agreed it was a regretful order. Dining in was pleasant, tables were a little close but lots of seating. There is one waiter guy. Classic authentic Asian service, efficient and not overly friendly haha just catch their attention if you need anything. You use an expo marker on their laminated menu to mark what dishes you want. This place is great. I liked journey to the dumpling a lot too but that place was like 11-14$ for each dish! Tea cup cafe is my dimsum go to for sure, I’d need a good reason to go somewhere else! Come over on weekdays for really good deals!

Yelp
I came here for lunch one day and it was very busy, especially on weekends and holidays. We ordered a variety of dim sum and non dim sum items. Everything is made in house and fresh daily which is really nice. It's a small family owned business, and service sometimes can be a bit slower during when it's really busy. We ordered the Classic dim sum dishes such as har gow, siu mai, chicken feet, beef tripe, egg tarts and another pastry I've never seen before - a fried dough with some cinnamon in it. All the dim sum was delicious. We also got some beef stir fried noodles which had lots of flavor. Also tried their Singapore noodles and orange chicken (not pictured), very good flavor. Overall, nice dim sum place and will come again. Parking can be a difficult since they have a small lot.

Yelp
Wow! I'd spent ages searching for a place that serves good jya jee gai in the Sac area and was pointed towards this place by a few friendly souls online. My expectations were on the lower side, as it's definitely hard to find that dish these days, but this place blew them out of the water. We rolled up to a mostly empty restaurant and were seated and served almost immediately. The inside is on the sparse side, but is clearly well loved and maintained. We ordered the jya jee gai, house special chow mein, the steamed cha siu bao, and the xiao long bao. All the dishes came out quickly and were all decently good, but the jya jee guy was by far my favorite. It was not too greasy, with the perfect mix of special salt and tasted just like I remember. I'm so glad I finally found somewhere I can trust to make it.

Yelp
Stopped by for to go after a bike ride. Got Shu Mai, Turnip cake, and Tofu wrap rolls (steamed oysters sauce roll on menu). They were all pretty good.

Yelp
We drove to Sacramento in search of dim-sum for lunch. We arrived at Tea Cup Cafe just as the restaurant's "OPEN" sign flickered on. There were three other cars waiting in the parking lot and when we entered the restaurant, the proprietress warmly greeted us; our 5-person party was easily accommodated at a corner table. The restaurant was modestly decorated but everything looked neat and orderly. We placed our food orders as soon as the nice lady dropped off our drink orders; from the regular Chinese menu we ordered 2 house fried rice, half an order of roast dick and walnut shrimp. From the dim sum menu we ordered: shumai, Shanghai dumplings (Xiaolongbao), fried shrimp balls, fried chicken wings, scallion pancake, salt & pepper chicken wings, lobster turnovers, and potstickers. The service was fast and efficient; the lady and gentlemen brought out all our orders with lightning speed and every item we ordered was well peppered and expertly seasoned. We especially liked the chicken wings and walnut shrimp, they were so crunchy but lightly battered, it was like biting into a cloud. We also enjoyed their scallion pancake; it was so light and crisp. The roast duck and fried rice were scrumptious. The fried shrimp balls is one of my favorite dim-sums; theirs had a crunchy exterior and soft, bouncy interior. The shumai was delicious and potstickers were thickk (with two k's). Everyone enjoyed our meal, we ate as much as we could but we had plenty of food leftover to make two entire meals. Aside from the food, when I paid for our meal, I miss-calculated the total; overpaying by $40. The cashier came back to our table, informed me of my error and corrected my receipt; if that isn't an example for the exemplary customer service, I don't know what is. Overall, we had a pleasant meal: the service was superb, the food was tasty and best of all, we felt welcomed-- we ate our meal languidly; we were all completely relaxed and jovial during the meal. Our group had such a good time, we're already planning a return trip.

Yelp
We just don't have enough Dim Sum so when we are traveling it is always a stop I look for! We walked in and were greeted immediately and taken very good care of. It is a comfortable restaurant and somewhere you can easily relax, which is just what we needed. We loved everything we tried honestly but some notable ones were certainly the Lotus Rice, Chive Dumplings and Egg Tarts. The Sesame Balls were also standout, they were very clearly freshly made and piping hot! We were just absolutely blown away with how wonderful everything was. Another winner in my book!

Yelp
I have been here several times. I'm up and down about this place but still keep eating here. Frustrating when they are busy, service somewhat lacking and they don't seem to fazed that I am frustrated. When they are slower, great place to eat in peace and have a great conversation if desired. Food is steady. I think it's the most consistent Chinese cuisine in town. The dim sum is good. The meat and veggies are great Oddly enough the rice and noodles, easiest to prepare, are mediocre. Prices are good....nothing flashy here....just consistency.

Yelp
Meant to go to an American brunch spot after church. But happened to drive by this restaurant. It wasn't opened yet. Waited about 15 min in their small parking lot for it to open. At least they have a parking lot for downtown! Overall a pleasant experience. Food was so delicious! Wasn't a long wait for our food since we were first. Waiter was welcoming and kind. Ambience was okay. Medium size space. Good for kids and groups. My daughter loved the fish tank haha. Only thing is bathroom isn't very clean. See pictures for what we ordered. We ordered fish with salted egg yolk but was given calamari instead. We mentioned it to the waiter and it wasn't a problem to get it changed to fish. She even let us take the calamari home no added charge. Oh and best house fried rice I've ever tried! The toasted aroma and taste. Unforgettable! So glad we accidentally found this place. Will be coming back and will recommend to others!

Yelp
I tried the hagow, chungfun, shumai, chive dumplings, sticky rice (zhong), and spareribs. My personal favorites were the hagow, chive dumplings, and sticky rice. The shrimp in the hagow were huge and had such good flavor. For all the above dishes, total was in the 50s, so a bit on the pricier end, but I also grew up with dim sum dishes being very very cheap (pre-inflation), so my view can be skewed. The inside is classic Chinese restaurant decoration with fish tanks, but if you're looking for a dimsum cart place, this place is not it. You order dimsum off a menu and they bring for you (similar to other places in the area).

Yelp
Went on a weekday for dim sum. The selection of dim sum was great, everything was good, eggplant a little butter but the shrimp on the inside was crispy and really tasty. Salk and pepper wings and the turnip cake was excellent . The servers were nice and attentive. Received our food quickly. Restaurant was clean and started to get a little busy later into the night. The only thing I struggled with was it was so hot inside the restaurant I was sweating. Not sure if they cranked the heater up because it was winter or there was just not good enough airflow. Other than that had a great time and will be dining there again!

Yelp
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant to go to! My go-to order is the General's chicken lunch special. Their lunch specials come with a good amount of food! Soup, an egg roll, chow mein, fried rice, and your choice of entree. You can make 2 meals out of the lunch special! The General's chicken is so good, it's hard for me to try and order something different! This time around I decided to try the beef wonton noodle soup. It was really good. The broth was light, yet super flavorful. The wontons were flavored well too. I think next time, I would just get wonton noodle soup. No need for any extra meat in there.

Yelp
Quick, easy, local Chinese that anyone would like. This is one of those places that you could stop in real quick and take for takeout.

Yelp
best chinese food in town favorite place to be. delicious. great service. shoutout to carson !!!

Yelp
Overall, it was an amazing experience. The service is on point and the food is delicious. I want to order Rice Noodle but they only offer it on weekends. They also have lunch special for 12.99 which includes chicken fried rice, chow mein, soup of the day, one egg roll and the meal of your choice. We got Hunan Beef which is very promising. They have hot and sour soup for today. 8/10 for the soup as it's a bit sour. The Xiao Long Bao (Shanghai Dumpling) and the Roasted Duck are my favorite. The dumplings are juicy and the skin is chewy. The roasted duck is on the sweeter side but we love it. The skin is super crispy and the meat is tender. We would definitely come again if we visit Sacramento in the future.

Yelp
This place is great ! We came for the dim sum. You order it from a menu , no cart here . Everything came out hot and fresh . Prices are reasonable. We liked the fact the place wasn't like a huge banquet like place , so a party of two can sit at a reasonable table size , but if you have bigger party they also have larger tables that can accommodate big parties . Friendly efficient service . This place is a winner !

Yelp
The food is delicious and the staff is quick. There is a parking lot on the side but it's in a walkable location.

Yelp
This is a classic Chinese spot that's been around for ages. We got here at 6 and it was empty but around 7 it was getting crowded. Their menu is huge as you can see. It's really cheap also, even for nowadays. They have like 4 group combo platters which are pretty good too, or I presume, cuz we didn't get that. Me and my friend got combo meals for about fifteen bucks each. They gave pretty small portions of the actual dishes with huge amounts of sides of fried rice and chow mein. The sides tasted alright, just pretty fatty. Kinda bland to be honest. I got orange chicken which was OK, and honey walnut shrimp which somehow tasted like pancakes, that was delicious. It came with hot and sour soup of the day which was...not great. Service could be slightly better, the waiter didn't pay much attention unless we flagged him over, and even then. But it could be cultural or something I guess. Not a real complaint. It's so nice and cheap here though and I could never try everything on the menu though I wish I could. The decor is your standard Chinese restaurant. Parking is great for midtown (downtown?) with a private lot. I think most of their service is takeout.
google avatar

Debbie R.

Yelp
Customer service sucks, ok you done like that, no Customer service at all, they just try to get you out asap.lol only 3 tables at 6pm,better customer service needed, don't make your food taste bland

Yelp
This is an underrated, hidden treasure for dim sum. Highlights include har haw (shrimp dumpling), tofu skin roll, and deep fried eggplant. I want to gate keep this place from getting too crowded.

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Went there on a Tuesday around 7pm and there was only one other person in the place. A couple people came through for take out. Not sure why this place isn't busier... Everything was great! Greeted by a nice woman. We ordered 7 dim sum dishes. A couple dishes were not available but she suggested others that were similar/the same price. We really enjoyed everything we ordered. My husband said the cream cheese wontons were the best he has ever had. I really liked the chive shrimp dumplings.
google avatar

Paige G.

Yelp
Literally the BEST Chinese food downtown! Portions are huge, prices are cheap, food is GOOD! They have dim sum and the typical food, but they're not greasy or as heavy. Everything is always fresh and delicious!

Yelp
4/16/2024 Found this on my weekend trip to Sacramento. Cute little cafe in a quiet part of midtown Sacramento. Parking close to front door. Waiter gave me a laminated menu to order dim sum dishes. Ordered stewed chicken feet and so falloff the bones soft.. Savory turnip cake which was freshly made with dried shrimps. A large plate of Gai lan dosed in oyster sauce, waiter cut them into smaller bite sizes with scissors. The Chinese tamales were big + fresh Everything was yummy Love the location and the cute ambience It would make a great spot to meetup with friends

Yelp
Reservations were made for two large tables on a Sunday at 11:45am and it wasn't too busy, but it started to fill up table by table. The owners at Tea Cafe changed a few months ago and renovations had been made to the restaurant so everything looked pretty new and clean. When it comes to decent service and delicious food, Hong Kong Islander was up there and now, Tea Cup Cafe will be my new favorite. Other than the tripe, which was quite bland, everything else was on point. Cooked fresh, the food was hot, and flavorful. My favorite was the juicy Siu Mais. The service was decent, but disorganized since there was only one man delivering the food, while also fulfilling our requests for refills on our hot tea, getting more sauce and etc. The guy was trying his best. Two different orders were submitted for each of our table and all the items came out for one table instead of both even though there were repeated items. Things were inefficient and they lost track of what items we had received, but I'm sure this will improve as they hire more people and get acclimated to more business. The only bad thing that stood out was the mandatory gratuity of 20% for our large party. Never had I seen a small Chinese restaurant charge that high of a percentage.
google avatar

Rich R.

Yelp
I was in downtown Sacramento and craved Chinese food so I searched yelp and found Tea Cup cafe. This is a standard Chinese restaurant with a fish aquarium inside. When I arrived late Sunday afternoon, the place was not busy so my take out order was done in 15 minutes. Food was delicious. I can't wait to try the other items on their menu.

Tatiana S.

Yelp
I like Asian cuisine, but I would refuse to go to this restaurant again. First of all, my husband was poisoned. And I think that would be the end of the review. But I'll tell you how the food was prepared. I think the shrimps were not cooked. The shrimp needed to be kept in boiling water for a little longer so that there would be no embarrassment with abdominal pain and vomiting. Secondly, the service leaves much to be desired. The waiter is very impudent and hurried. She hurried us with the order and payment of tips. We ordered tea, but it was not brought to us, and we had to explain for a few more minutes that we had ordered tea. Thirdly, the atmosphere is tense because of the hurried waitress. And the hall is very bright, which prevents you from relaxing and enjoying at least tea, because the food is not of very good quality. Decide for yourself whether you will go to this restaurant. Personally, I won't be there anymore.

Megan W.

Yelp
Went here for lunch on a Wednesday. It was pretty quiet so we were seated immediately and service was super fast. We ordered the appetizer combo plate, the string bean beef and honey walnut shrimp off the lunch combination menu. The portions were huge and the food was great. The honey walnut shrimp sauce was a little too thick but still good.
google avatar

Cassondra C.

Yelp
YUM!! Loved the food here! It was served fresh and hot. Loved the combination plates we got. Too full to try the hot &sour soup but it looks delicious! It was our first time ordering here- ready to experiment with other dishes. We will eat at the restaurant next time- very friendly, clean, and feels like the Chinese restaurants I was raised with.
google avatar

Kyra T.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I often stop here when we have an itch for Chinese - we first stumbled upon this place after not wanting to wait for a similar style, overhyped restaurant up the street. We were impressed by the variety, portion sizes, and quality of the food! We love the staff and are always happy to eat in rather than grabbing take out. I've also brought a few friends with dietary restrictions which the kitchen was able to accommodate wonderfully
google avatar

Anthony W.

Yelp
I haven't been to Tea Cup House (formerly Tea Cup Cafe) for maybe a decade or more. The good news is the wok food is pretty good, but the dim sum maybe something to skip for now. We had the Fujian fried rice and egg white/dry scallop rice noodle and they were both done right with plenty of "wok hay" to impart the seared seasoned goodness. We tried har gow and siu mai and they were acceptable but not something I would order again. I'll stick to the best dim sum in town farther south. The service is decent and the waiting staff is polite and pleasant. The dining room is pretty much the same as decades ago, but has not really aged, so they must be doing a good job with the upkeep. The spacious restrooms are remodeled and new, so they get a star for that. If you are in midtown and looking for some decent chinese fare, give them a try!
google avatar

Carmen C.

Yelp
Delicious boba! We got the recommendation from someone and we're happy we visited on our way from Elk Grove
google avatar

Jonathan M.

Yelp
I really like Tea Cup Cafe. For the price of going to Panda Express, you get decent quality Chinese food. Set your expectations correctly -- this is the Hot and Sour soup, Chow Mein, Kung Pao sort of Chinese experience. You're not going to Fat's, or Mission Chinese in SF -- and the price reflects it. It's cheap! Portions are good, employees are friendly, and they are super fast if you call them for an order. Their hot and sour soup and won ton soup are go to's for my family when we feel sick, and the "family meals" are a great deal if you're not feeling like thinking a lot about what you want but want something tasty.

Ju L.

Yelp
Pros: Authentic Cantonese cuisine at unbeatable prices and family sized portions. Ample parking. Cons: Unfriendly and inattentive waitstaff, which is to be expected at a Chinese restaurant.

Yelp
Wednesday was my first time ordering from Tea Cup under the new management. I was skeptical at first, following my Yelp search ... it's a mixed bag, when it comes to Chinese food ratings! However, I took a chance, and I am glad that I did... I ordered the Mongolian Beef and the Mixed Veggies in Garlic Sauce. Portions were LARGE, fresh and hot. The quality of the beef was good, and I loved all the onions. Please note, this dish was not spicy in my book, but something you may want to consider if you ARE sensitive to heat (there were dried chili peppers in the dish). The mixed veggies were very fresh and not overcooked (still firm and colors were bright). The overall taste was also light, and there was a lot of fresh minced garlic. I made two big meals out of these two!!!! Can't wait for the rainy season, so I can try their Wor Wonton and Hot and Sour Soup ... I will report back, once I do :) I will defiantly be back, and it is great knowing I have a good spot located close to my house!! Side note: there is a small parking lot onsite (free) with metered street parking. Allow for extra time on the weekends... Also note, that my order was via takeout - I cannot speak to a dine-in experience as-of-yet!

Yelp
First time here with friend to check out this authentic Chinese restaurant that I've heard so many people raving about ! We got here around typical lunch time and there was only one server for the entire restaurant. Since I'm Chinese and know how to speak the server's native language, we got along just fine lol. We started off with the customary chamomile tea. My friend ordered fried wonton tons and the orange chicken lunch special. She said it was good. I couldn't try it due to my gluten intolerance. Waitress accommodated me with the shrimp pan fried rice noodles with no soy sauce. Pretty standard and authentic. Better than going to Panda Express any day !! Chill and casual ambiance. Nice and quiet to catch up with good conversations Service was a bit slow but there was only one server for the entire lunch time!

Yelp
Best Chinese food place in Sacramento for take-out - hands down. My husband and I love this place way too much (also, for orders over $20, they deliver for free. We place our orders over the phone) The food tastes fresh and is always piping hot. Things we like to order: - potstickers are huge and the best I've ever had - (I don't usually even like pot stickers. Highly recommend ) - Sesame chicken (my husband's favorite) - cream cheese wontons (also a favorite of the husband) - sesame puffs/balls (these are ridiculously good- I dream about them) - chicken with vegetables (nice and fresh) - egg custard roles (yummy desert) - honey walnut shrimp (decadent but delicious) - sticky rice was solid We've only had one thing from here that's kind of meh (pan fried pork rolls. It's like a sausage inside and pretty plain) - sticky rice We've only gotten it as to-go, though we've done delivery and pick-up. Food is always fast, fresh, and delicious! Also portions are very substantial.

Yelp
The employees are lacking warmness and are extremely robotic. There was no greeting when I entered the restaurant, nor a thank you come again when I paid for my check with a tip. I won't be spending my hard earned money here again. I asked the waitress her name and she acted as if she was too good to respond. Complete rudeness and the food is mediocre.
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible combination plate that comes with an elite hot and sour soup. The waiter is a legend as well.
google avatar

Kai E.

Yelp
What happened to this place? Omg has the food gone downhill. My choe mien was nothing but soy sauced spaghetti, no vegetables at all or meat. Same with the fried rice. The sauce on the beef brocoli tasted like it was out of a can. This was my go to spot for Chinese food. Not anymore. Currently searching for a new place. What I got from Tea Cup is unacceptable.
google avatar

PAUL A.

Yelp
I came here on a Thursday afternoon at lunch time. The service was quick and my order came out fast and hot. I ordered the lunch special beef with vegetables. It was super tasty and I had to struggle to finish all the beef. The bathrooms were surprisingly remodeled and super clean and bright. It's been years since I've been here and I'm glad I came back. If you're in the area I highly suggest it. This tops Panda Express any day of the week!

Yelp
Dim sum on par with San Francisco! We went on a lark after the CIM in December. (We used to like New Canton.) This place is smaller but really good quality. We will be back.

Yelp
My family and I ended up eating here on their re-grand opening day. We showed up and they had lion dancing that day! We had dim sum with my my mom since she was here from out of town. The inside looked nice. We ate siu mai, hah gao, cha siu bao, a sweet cream cheese bao, chicken feet, Chinese tamales(no mai gai), spare ribs w/black bean, honey walnut prawns, beef broccoli and veggie soy sauce chow mein. Everything was hot and fresh! I enjoyed everything. My favorite was the hah gao(shrimp dumplings), spare ribs, honey walnut prawns, and the chow mein. We didn't finish our food so we ended up taking quite a bit home. The service was good considering they were having their grand re-opening. Everything came out quickly. My water was never empty and they were polite. We were extra happy because we got a show with our meal too. We will be back when we are in the area. I hope they keep up the high level of service and food quality. I'm glad they re-opened.

Yelp
Solid dim sum in a dive looking establishment. I've tried quite a few dumpling places out, and this place hits the mark for quality to value. Really good standards in Sui mai and har gow, reco the chicken's feet and the Singapore rice noodles. The food is more like 4 stars, but the overall value to quality is 4.5.

Yelp
Food is always great! Service on busy days can be slower, but they are working hard. The atmosphere is good taste.

Yelp
Super disappointed in this place! It used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant in midtown but their food has gone downhill so much. We used to always get the dinner combos and everything was so flavorful and now it's literally noodles with chicken in the chow mein rice is bland has nothing in it. Even the egg rolls don't even come with the little to go cup of sauce they give you a cheap packet of sauce instead. I will not be back after going for the last 5 years. You can drive a little off the grid and get much better food for probably cheaper too.

Yelp
Pork buns are not as they used to be. Everything seems frozen and reheated. They used to have really good buns.

Yelp
Tea Cup House has been around forever - I remember coming here as a kid! It still has the traditional, delicious Chinese food I love. It's definitely not fancy, but that's how you know it's good! For dinner, we like to order off the "chef's dinner specials" menu. Some of our favorites are the Peking spareribs, green beans, stuffed tofu, creamed corn fried fish, and chicken wings. Their dim sum is also good. I like that you check off what you want and they bring it out piping hot. The turnip cake, chicken feet, stuffed pepper, and stuffed eggplant are especially tasty. Overall, I'd return and recommend if you're looking for no frills tasty Chinese. I'd probably eat here more often if I lived closer!

Yelp
One of my fav places to visit for lunch and have dim sum. The people that work there are very nice and friendly. You can also order online through apps or calling. The place is great to sit and enjoy your meal. If you go so try friends the portions are definitely plentiful. Must try for dim sum

Yelp
A local favorite of my family. We come at least once a month. We love good Chinese food, being that my parents lived in NY and LA Rowland Heights area for 30+ years. We enjoy having the option of ordering dimsum the entire day, as well as a full spread menu. They serve Cantonese dishes that we don't see elsewhere. The restaurant is clean, which is rare for a Chinese place and waitresses have always been very nice. Unfortunately, Journey to the Dumpling opened a block away. Although very hip and trendy, the food is definitely not as good and it's pricey. If in the area, give this place a try!!
