You can tell everything is cooked with care and pride. We’ve made it a tradition to come here together whenever we want something comforting, delicious, and made with love. Whether it’s dine-in or takeout, the service, food, and atmosphere are always top-notch. Went on an anniversary date with my boyfriend here and we were sat right next to the drink dispenser when there were much better seats open in the restaurant (about 10 free seats) took 45 plus minutes for two plates of food to come out and the honey walnut shrimp I ordered which said a mayo-honey sauce was pure honey, no mayo in sight. It was so strong of a sweet honey flavor I couldn't eat it, if they were out of mayo I would've rather them be honest with me so i could order something else instead of them trying to cover it up with sub-par food.

Stopped by just for boba. Restaurant was empty, was asked to take a seated waited about 6 minutes or so which is fine. Until I recieved the $9 drink that had all hard Boba. It seems they were out of boba and tried to quickly make some instead of being upfront and honest when I ordered.

The last time I was at Tea Garden must have been a long time ago, because it was a buffet when I was here last. Even though the buffet is gone, the food is great and the service is good. I'd definitely recommend it.

I have food sensitivities, so ordered the gluten free general tso chicken. It was so good and the sauce had a little spice which was perfect. Will definitely come back for the other gluten free options!

Keep trying and keep getting disappointed. Some of the sauces, like general tso, sesame, and orange taste more like ketchup than authentic Chinese sauces. I tried increasing the spiciness to medium on my general tso's chicken the last time but it just tasted like spicy ketchup and to make things worse, I was sick for four days while it slowly worked through my digestive system. It could have been the old tasting fried wantons that came with my soup? I ate only a few before tossing in the trash. The crab Rangoon seemed fresh but had only a scarce hint of fake crab in it and was sweet rather than savory so I couldn't finish those either. The staff always say 5 minutes for the call in order to be ready and I show up in 10 but end up waiting at least 5-10 minutes more so I know not to show up for at least 15 minutes no matter what she says. I liked this place for good prices, convenient location, fresh made food, pleasant staff, but the food just isn't quite right for me so I can't anymore. A lot of posters really like it so maybe my experiences were one offs or I've become too picky? I did have an excellent side of vegetables from there once. Fresh, quality, cooked nicely. Hopefully you have a better experience.

This is more than just a Chinese food place. At first glance you might think it's just another one if those cheap fast food Chinese restaurants. However the quality goes beyond that. The cost is still a fair price like you would expect to pay for such a place but you get a little mire than what you paid for. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are experiencing something of another culture that is catered just for you. It felt like a very family friendly environment where my child and I were very comfortable and welcomed. The service was wonderful, everything was brought to us at a good rate of speed and tasted quite fresh. The staff was very friendly and happy to serve us. The quality of the food was definitely better than your average mall Chinese place. It's the same basic menu that you expect to see but the quality is just so much more. My kid and I will definitely be eating here again.

By far some of the best Chinese food in Johnson county. It’s pretty tough to find a Chinese restaurant that uses white meat and this place does! Called in a to-go order for General Tso chicken and it was ready in 5 minutes. Taste, portions, and service was great. Will definitely be back to try some other dishes! Highly recommended.

I've been sleeping on Tea Garden. As a longtime Olathe resident, I can't believe I am just now discovering Tea Garden! This is the absolute best Chinese food in the area. We first tried the Kung Pao Chicken, which was unbelievably delicious, and we've since enjoyed several other dishes, like the Jalapeno Chicken. Their ingredients seem so fresh, with large, bright vegetables. The portion sizes are perfect, offering you two sizes so you can select whats right for you. The regular size easily serves 2. The combo side is perfect for 1 and comes with 2 crab rangoon. The service is absolutely excellent. There are two main folks that must be the owners or managers - and they are attentive, friendly, and fast working. The dining room itself is older, but it is always impeccably clean. They take good care of their place - which is a great sign of how much care they put into the whole business. 5/5, 10/10, this is a new regular dinner spot for us.

Mushu actually had rice wrappers so many give you junky tortilla amazing chicken was sooo yummy nice stuff will return

I had Lucky Family takeout for my first try. It was still hot when I got home. Loved the beef & seafood, especially the monster shrimp! Will have them on speed dial! Janice

The run of Tea Garden being my favorite Chinese food restaurant has sadly come to an end. I only eat takeout Chinese food and have been getting Tea Garden delivered for years and was very happy up until the last few months. Something has changed. The food does not taste the same. I can't describe it. Just different. I don't enjoy it anymore. And, the portions have shrunk very noticeably. I need to find a new spot in Johnson county. If you read this & can recommend a great place, send me a message, please!

We used to love this place but getting takeout tonight was different. I am not sure what changed but the food is not the same and the quality has suffered. The Moo Shu pork was good but the pancakes were thick and stiff and not at all edible. The portions are smaller and the flavor is gone. The service was exceptional and friendly, as we have always experienced. Just want the food back to the way it was!

My dine-in lunch experience at this well-established Chinese restaurant was good, with cheerful, polite, efficient service and a tasty meal. The kung pao chicken combo ($9.99) was served with a smile ten minutes after I ordered at the table. The combos were their version of a lunch menu, with smaller (but still generous) portions, white rice and two crab rangoons. I liked that they offered a brown rice option for a charge but surprised to see that fried rice also cost extra. I wish they were more flexible on the combo sides with options for soup or an egg roll. The kung pao chicken had a flavorful sauce with a good amount of heat (spiciness) and a good variety of veggies. The white rice was okay, while the two crab rangoons were filled with plenty of creamy goodness. I found the dining area to be clean and nice with a mix of booths and tables and soothing Oriental background music, while the exterior needed a new awning. Overall, I'm thinking 3.5 stars and rounding up.

******** February Review ********** It has been a few months since our last takeout order from here and unfortunately, we will need to find another place to eat Chinese food. Food: 1/10 My husband ordered general Tso's chicken. I ordered chicken fried rice and chicken lo mien. The lo mien was great, but the fried rice was awful. It was burned and there were burned flakes mixed in with the rice. The general Tso's had good flavor, but it was drowning in sauce. This is extremely disappointing because their food used to be solid. The price of the food has also increased, but it is definitely not worth it. Time management: 4/10 I also noticed the last couple of times we ordered takeout, the food was not ready upon our arrival. We have had to wait at least 5-10 minutes. We always order at least 30-45 minutes prior to pickup to give them time to prep the meal, but we still end up waiting. Overall: 4/10 We are good on this place. They have changed how they cook their food and their prices have gone up. This is disappointing because they used to be really good. I hope overtime, they will improve the quality of their food and how they cook it.

Went back last night with friends and had the hot & sour soup as well as the pan fried pork dumplings- both were delicious. Service was terrific. A really solid choice for Chinese food in this neighborhood!

This is one of my favorite Chinese places in the area. I've been ordering Tea Garden delivery for years and always thought it was better than others. Food is flavorful, veggies are fresh, and still have a crunch (instead of being cooked to mush). The food is even better when you dine in and it's made to order. I've been a couple times and have never left upset. My favorite dishes are the peppered beef and shrimp or the salt and pepper shrimp. Delicious and highly recommend.

The food is subpar, the prices are too high for what you receive. Customer service was subpar, was made to feel like I was an annoyance.

This place has everything to offer. Delicious appetizers and the crab Rangoon? Absolutely bomb. The Hunan chicken is my favorite. The spicy orange chicken is also great. The service is amazing 10/10 and the bubble tea is also a great option. Favorite place when going out for Chinese.

Tried something new & was disappointed. Some of the chicken in the fried rice was rubbery, but the rice itself was cooked well. The sauce for the Tso's was a jelly consistency. It had a good flavor, not overly spicy but I couldn't get past the texture. My friend didn't think it was too bad but agreed it was odd. I admit that everything tasted better reheated the next day, but won't order these again.

Tea Garden is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The menu is huge and I've never had a dish I didn't like! Beware when visiting or ordering on weekends - they get extremely busy and you'll have to wait!

I came here with my cousin and we both have nothing but good things to say about this place, food was delicious drinks were very good but the best thing about Tea Garden is the amazing service and atmosphere.

5th Chinese Restaurant we have tried on our quest to find our favorite Chinese restaurant after we moved from MN. This was a winner for sure and we will be back. The Crab Rangoon and Fried dumplings were awesome. The best dumplings we have had yet the warping was great and the filling had a great veggie taste. I had the Amazing Chicken...yep that is the name of it..and we had the Walnut Shrimp as well. The fried rice was good also. The Amazing chicken was a good mix of veggies with a light peanut sauce. It had a spicy note on it but I didn't think it was spicy at all. The shrimp was slightly overcooked but that was the only complaint. The staff was amazing and so incredibly nice.

Really great selection of food here. All of your traditional Chinese food along with an expansive menu for vegetarians. Just had lunch here and everything came out extremely fresh and in good time. Wait staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

Prompt friendly delivery on a Saturday night. Ordered the combos - menus said smaller portions but it came with crab rangoons. The portions were still huge. General Tsos Chicken - white meat, mild in spice served with broccoli. Next time I'll ask for more heat Beef with green beans - paid extra for add'l veggies. Asked for snow peas and mushrooms and the did it! So good! Crab Rangoon - Outstanding. Extra full, lots of crab Egg Roll - stayed crispy, full of filling and great flavor My new go to Chinese delivery plChinese

Interesting that Tea Garden is selling boba tea on the weekend now. I love the peach perfect. Will come back to try more choices.

I ordered take/delivery. How did this place get 4 stars? I ordered the staple items in any Chinese Food restaurant. 1) Hot and sour soup - horrible, sour and they added raw button mushrooms which just floated and left this nasty dirt taste. 2) Ma-La tofu - who makes ma-la tofu with fried tofu??? The main ingredient is the silken soft tofu, the main the ingredients was not in the dish, absolute disappointment. 3) Saute Green beans-how do you mess up green beans? Saute with a little oil and garlic, salt and pepper, done. I picked the easiest 3 dishes and all 3 was a zero.

Food is great iv never eaten inside due to late nights but the atmosphere seems fun and the service is great. I love their orange chicken

Food is AMAZING!!!!! Service is AMAZING!!!! Had a delivery and they forgot the pancakes for my mooshoo. The cook literally drove to my house and delivered them personally!!! WOW!!!!! I'm VERY IMPRESSED!!! I won't EVER eat at any other Chinese restaurant!!!! They have my business for life!!!!

First time on a recommendation was surprisingly great! Wife always gets Sesame Chicken to judge a place, and I tried the Amazing Chicken which I've never heard of before. Both were delicious! And the Crab Rangoons were large and tasty as well. Can't wait to try more of the menu soon!

With Asian Pearl being closed due to a fire, we were looking for alternatives. So far we have been very pleased with the food and service.

I have been looking for a new Chinese place to try and decided to try Tea Garden! I ordered a carry out and they told me 5-10 minutes and it was ready within that time, it was hot and fresh! I had the spicy orange chicken, crab Rangoon, and hot and sour soup! It was all great! Will definitely return!

I was told to try this place out by a co-worker. They had raving reviews so I thought, why not? This place lived up to the hype! Those crab rangoons are exactly what they should be, crispy, filled with yummy goodness, and piping hot! I could live on those alone, granted that would be a short life if I only lived in fried foods, but might be worth it with these bad boys! I also got the general tso's chicken. It was sweet at first but with a latent heat. I would have liked a little more heat, but I bet if I asked they could accommodate. The chicken was perfectly cooked! When I had leftovers I almost couldn't wait to dig back in! I have also heard they have a mean sweet and sour chicken if you like that.

This was my 2nd visit to Tea Garden. There won't be a 3rd. Ordered the curry chicken which tasted odd. Not at all like curry chicken I have eaten other places. The fried rice had an old oil taste. Here's where my visit got interesting...the recipe says China Wok Kearney, Missouri. Then it says garlic chicken add curry. What? No wonder it tasted funky. The waitress was pleasant. The restaurant dining area looked clean. I wanted to love this place but it didn't happen.

I liked their lunch buffet, but got turned off by the y health violations I. Dec 2022 (as noted here on yelp) with no inspections since then.

I ordered some food from the Tea Garden. It was good but will never order delivery again! Yelp says it was supposed to be..99 and they charged me 4.99! Rip off!!

Picked up lunch here today & ordered the Combination Pan Fried Noodles that included beef, chicken, shrimp & assorted vegetables. I also order a small side of the Hot & Sour Soup. The soup was good but Sushi UNI still has the best so far. The Pan Fried Noodles was also a delight. They put just enough brown sauce to soak in the noodles to where it was soft but still crunchy. The shrimp & chicken was cooked well but the beef was somewhat a little sweet. Not exactly sure why. The vegetables were cooked well. Not overly cooked or under raw. The hostess/waitress was nice & polite. When I asked if they packed a spoon & fork along with the hot oil I requested on the side, she said yes. Unfortunately, there wasn't a spoon inside for my soup but only a fork. Luckily I had one in the car so it worked out. Most importantly the hot oil was there & I was happy. Edit: I had leftovers from yesterday's lunch for today & after taking the box out the bag today (I didn't yesterday) I found the missing spoon. Oops. Changed my rating to 5 stars. Keep up the good work Tea Garden!

My first visit to Tea Garden. I had the Garlic Chicken and spicy soup. It was excellent. Service was great. They care about the quality of their food and service and it shows. I will be back.

Food was delicious and prices were unbeatable. With the inflation of everything and $5.00 gas prices, this was a great thing to see. Will most definitely be back!

How far they fell from grace! I never give one star reviews and when I feel the need to do so it's usually cause the food and the service were so terrible and so terrible means when I complained they acted like it was my fault or I was trying to get over on them. Like seriously for a 12.99 chicken meal? Today I ordered the same dish I ordered the previous 3 occasions the chicken Szechuan. It was cold, the sauce was so sweet it was slightly syrupy, and the portion was substantially smaller to the point that I took one bite of the chicken and noodles and the lady proceeds to tell me I need to pay for 1/2 the meal cause she says I ate half. No ma'am I thought you ate half before you brought it out3 other people were with me and two out of 3 said there food tasted substantially different than our last two visits. I ask if f they have changed cooks recipes and while the waitress knew everything before she all of a sudden doesn't know this.‍

They now charge you an additional fee to pay with a credit card, and they don't tell you before swiping your card. Then they try to gaslight you like you're crazy to ask why they're charging a credit card fee. This is after raising prices on food already. Extremely disappointing because the focus has clearly shifted. I can't tell you one other business that makes the customer pay the credit card processing fee. Weak.

We were looking for a new Asian restaurant and we found it! We came in on a Tuesday evening about 7. We were immediately greeted and sat down. The service was so good and food was amazing and so fresh! I don't think I've ever had better rice! The rice is really really good! We will be back :)

The food is good! I had chicken fried rice and General Tso's chicken and my date had teriyaki chicken with broccoli, both dishes were delicious. There is only takeout which is good because the interior is not so nice.

This restaurant used to be our weekly lunch place. The ownership has changed therefore the quality is now very poor, the food is cold, and most of the buffett dishes were empty, at 1215pm on a weekday. When the previous owners ran the place food was always hot, fresh, and tasted delicious, and the recipes had not changed for the last 15 years. Now the food including the hot and sour soup smothered in soy sauce. Chinese food is so much more than that, however the crab rangoons, spring rolls and fried chicken were still reasonably good. Fortunately there are several good Chinese Restaurants near by.

The customer service is by far the best that I've ever seen from any Chinese restaurant. The customer service is welcoming and very patient. I love this place. The food is absolutely amazing. Have never had a disappointment there. Definitely give this restaurant five stars.

The best Chinese food in all of Olathe! So happy dine in is back and they did have the best little buffet but, no more (as of 12-2021. Might change but, owner said doesn't plan on bringing back). Perfect variety and cooked perfect. The best veggies fresh and plenty. Even dishes like General Tao's gets some veg. Not greasy or salty just perfect. Never feel bloated like I do from "cheap" Chinese. Price is reasonable for the quality and quantity. Combo meals are great deal. Enough for 2 meals!

Ordered online for pickup on 3/4/23. Was quoted a 20 min. Waited over 45 min past quoted time, and never received our order. No update. No other orders came out. One couple left very angry. I tried to tell the hostess I was leaving and I needed a refund, but she disappeared. I'm out $50 and came home hungry.

Every time I go here, it makes me happy. I am a food service/industry snob, and this place never disappoints me. I always get take out and everything is fast and easy, as it should be with take-out!! But apparently this is not an easy thing for other places to achieve. The service is always friendly and accommodating from the time you call in to order, to the time you go to pick it up. I feel I am getting my money's worth every time!! And they work with certain dietary needs without making it sounds like an inconvenience, which is so awesome!! Love that this is a local, family owned place. I will go here before I go to any chain. Keep doing what you do!!!!
