My husband had seen a video on Instagram highlighting this place and that's what convinced us to go LOL. Dang those persuasive IG reels!! I think the big draw to the Tea Lounge is the views of the Strip from the 23rd floor, but we happened to visit in the middle of their 23rd floor renovation, so currently their Tea Lounge experience is being held on their 3rd floor, I believe until June 15. There is a small disclaimer that states this if you make your reservation online, but I also received an email a day afterwards to reiterate that the 23rd floor is under construction, and they offered to let me cancel if I wasn't aware. I really appreciated the effort to be transparent, and I'm sure some people only want to come for the view, haha. My husband and I are total foodies however, and were just really interested in trying the food, with the view being a bonus.
It was easy enough making the reservation online (maybe because of the renovations going on?) and we were promptly seated after checking in with the hostess. We were seated by the window which was nice, but obviously the view from the 3rd floor isn't that spectacular or anything, haha. It's a small room, so it felt pretty intimate, and it also helped that there were only 3 other parties in the lounge with us. They have a set menu for the food portion, but you get to pick one tea per person, and they have a decent selection of black, green, oolong, artisan, and herbal teas to choose from. If tea isn't your thing, I believe you can pay separately for soft drinks, coffee, etc. My husband and I ended up picking the monkey picked oolong tea, and the pu-erh tou cha artisan tea. The oolong tea was a little too light for our tastes, but the pu-erh was great!
For their spring menu, the four savory sandwiches we were given were porchetta, curry chicken, egg gougere, and smoked salmon. My husband and I both LOVED the flavor of the curry chicken the best, even though the bread was definitely on the dry side. The egg was also really good and flavorful, but honestly we enjoyed all of the sandwiches!
The two scones were buttermilk and blueberry (I'm not sure if this changes by season), and I love that they come warmed up! They were super buttery and delectable, and it was definitely one of my favorite parts of the meal. On the table is Devonshire cream, lemon curd, and berry jam, to eat with the scones. The lemon curd was perfectly tangy and refreshing, and the berry jam was also sweet and delicious!
Honestly, by the time we were done with the sandwiches and scones, I barely had any room for dessert, lol. I bit each one just to try, but I definitely didn't have the stomach to finish everything, haha. We had a chocolate hazelnut tart, blueberry cheesecake dome, raspberry pistachio macaron, and coconut choux. While very aesthetically pleasing, I do think taste-wise, the desserts were not as satisfying as the sandwiches. If I had to pick a favorite, I really liked that the chocolate hazelnut tart was rich without being too sweet and I also really enjoyed the toasted hazelnuts in the dessert.
I can't remember exactly, but I believe it was about $62-65/person for the Tea Lounge? But considering that we got SO full, and it's in the Waldorf Astoria, I don't believe it's a bad price at all. We're definitely planning on coming back the next time we're in Las Vegas!
FYI: The Waldorf Astoria in Las Vegas only offers Valet Parking, with no option of self-parking. On their website, it states the price of valet parking is $45, so my husband and I parked off-site and walked over. I had called the Waldorf Astoria general number, and they told me it was a flat $45, regardless if I was staying at the hotel or if I was just dining. However, once I was at the Tea Lounge, the hostess told me that they do validate parking, and it would either be free or significantly discounted (to $10 is what she said). I can't vouch if this is actually true since we didn't get to test it, but this is what I was told.
