Disgusted to say the least. I ordered a chai milk tea with boba and received a milky clumpy mixture; no matter how much I shake or stir, these clumps of what tastes like graham cracker dust won’t dissolve.

The bubble tea used to be better for the price. The service is super fast but the quality of tapioca is low. Watery, as other reviews have said. Also you have to stir your own drinks..

The service is Insanely fast. When ordering a bubble tea for myself they are pretty much done with the order before I finish paying. Plus the drinks taste great. Strawberry black tea is my go to.

To keep it succinct, Boba was very thin (watery) as mentioned in other reviews and very expensive (S 6.75 M $8.50 and L $10~) compared to other places like Gongcha. It was also very sweet for “regular sugar” and overall, it was just mediocre. I did like the matcha/brown sugar flavoring though and how they didn’t overload the drink with ice. Clean atmosphere and good staff! Probably would not return though. From a honest viewpoint from a local, gongcha or any other major boba chains are a lot better and cheaper than this.

I have gone to this location many times, but this was the first time I tried the pistachio cake. It was so good! It was light and very tasty, and I will definitely purchase it again. Make sure you download the app in order to get points.

Great place for boba tea and it was delicious surprise to find that they also served frozen yogurt. The staff was super friendly and made the whole experience a great one. Also Jen was awesome help!!

So I find myself back very near Columbia University again and decide to drop into Tea Magic as I have pasted it so many times in the past, I was a warm Saturday night and as I enter I notice that the shop is empty. Well I initially think...great no waiting. I look at the menu and that have a nice variety of drink options. But why hasn't anyone else come into the shop? I place my order (Black Milk Tea, Boba and some salted cheese action on top). They ask me what size and then point to their cup sizes. Their medium is like a large in most places and they large is looked like a 1/2 gallon. No one needs that much. Maybe its for a contest like if you drink it in 30 seconds you get a t-shirt. I get the medium and then the young lady behind the counter tells me the price.....$9.00?!?!? Well now I know why no one is in here. Glad I did not got for the large....I would have had to take out a loan. Now my expectation of this drink was now much higher. I have to say that it had great tea flavor and the boba and salted cheese were very good. Was it $9.00 good. I don't think so. I am taking off one star for the price. Other than that the drink was good and the inside of the shop was nice.

Horrible! I don't write reviews but I'm extremely disappointed that I have to advise the rest of you to save your money and not buy from this place. I ordered an "oolong milk tea" but this tastes more like sugar and milk. Steam Bun (pork) is not worth it, tastes like plastic and the inside was rock hard! Had to throw out the buns because i knew if i couldn't bite it my stomach wouldn't be able to digest it. Do yourself a favor and avoid a trip to the ER guys. Food quality is not worth such expensive pricing. Ridiculous!

As some other reviews mention, the boba is super sweet. The drinks are decent but pricy for portion and quality. Service is prompt and there are some seats so perhaps worth it if you're looking for a place to sit.

This spot is really convenient just 3 blocks south of Columbia's campus and close to the 110 St subway (1 train). It is small inside but there are a few tables and a counter to order at the back. There are a lot of different milk and non-milk/fresh tea options and more than a dozen toppings to choose from. Although there are options to customize the sugar, I ordered my drink with the lowest sugar option possible and it was made with full sugar anyways. The drinks are SO SMALL for the price!! The small size tea with boba cost $7 and was literally the size of my palm.

Pass by here pretty often but never got a drink here. Finally stopped by this afternoon. I wanted a brown sugar matcha latte with boba and saw they were advertising this exact drink on their window along with a line of other matcha drinks. The drink came out quickly, cost almost $8 for a small. Boba prices have gotten crazy. Boba was chewy, could have been cooked just a little longer. The drink itself was too sweet. At first i thought it was bc of the boba but it was too sweet all the way through. Matcha flavor was there but I wish it was a little richer. Would ask for 50% or even 25% sweetness in the future. Overall enjoyed the drink. Am not convinced to stop in for sure next time but also not dissuaded. Would stop in again if they offer another drink I happen to be craving

Has simply never led me astray. Tasty teas made with barely any wait. Not much of a crowd too--if you're unlucky on timing you might run into a recently-released class of Columbia kids but barring that it's a chill spot. Drinks are usually too sweet but they're endlessly customizable so, y'know, customize them.

Super bummer. Came in and got a black tea with bubbles and 75 sugar. Heads up if you're lactose intolerant or dairy allergic, they use cream instead of a nondairy creamer. Ended up being charged twice for the same drink. Second time it was made, it was made without sugar. All around awful time here, would avoid.

Just went in today around 5:30. I asked to taste the frozen yogurt and they said no. What kind of place has frozen yogurt and doesn't let you taste it first? No thank you. Went across the street to Pinkberry where they couldn't have been nicer. Skip this place.

Tea Magic is delicious and the service is great. The price isn't expensive. Their tea shop is very student friendly!

I am addicted and I mean addicted to boba coffee milk slush thick blended smooth with boba on top before they seal!!

Okay, part of this was my issue. I ordered the brown sugar milk tea, which has pictures of tapioca pearls in it. The picture does say "toppings not included" but not being someone who gets too much boba tea, I didn't realize that meant the tapioca pearls in the picture. However, the thing that upset me enough to write a negative review in times of COVID was them sending me a very tiny slice of cake, it was about 1/3 of the size pictured on seamless. It was a $9 cake! I'm unemployed, this was a splurge. I reached out to magic tea when I got my order, offering to send a photo and they said they were unable to do anything for me. I will say the peanut butter explosion was good, but I am soured by the whole experience.

The tea is lovely but I boba could use some improvement. I got the jasmine green milk tea (50% sugar)with boba and in terms of taste it was delightful and refreshing; however several of my boba were too chewy and slightly dry. The interior is standard and nice, not the best place for working. Their sizes are interesting, the large is insanely huge! lol

I ordered delivery from Tea Magic yesterday and I was so disappointed. I ordered a Nutella crepe with strawberries and bananas, a tapioca boba crepe, a Taro milk tea, and a strawberry milk slush. The total was surprisingly high, but I was really craving a crepe so I didn't mind. My tapioca boba crepe looked more like soup when it arrived. There was jiggly egg pudding that tasted like bad cantaloupe all over the crepe. The crepe itself was so thin that I was actually impressed. The boba in the crepe was okay, which was its only redeeming quality. Overall the crepe tasted like Aunt Jemima's syrup, which was sad for about $15. The Nutella crepe was okay, but that's only because it's hard to ruin Nutella and fruit. The strawberry milk slush was strangely tart but my friend was happy with this. I really didn't like my Taro milk tea because it was sickly sweet with just 50% sugar. Save your money and order from any other bubble tea place!

I order from this Tea Magic location often via Uber Eats. Their delivery is ALWAYS fast, and I never had a wrong order to date. I love all the bubble tea flavors, and I usually add the popping bubbles to them. Since the cups are sealed, there's never any spillage on delivery. I love it!

Delicious bubble tea! I've never been to the actual store but I've ordered their tea through Uber Eats several times. Their mango green tea is delicious and my brother told me how much he enjoyed the passion fruit slush. Would highly recommend if you're in the area or can get delivery.

Who doesn't love a boba spot that delivers quickly! If you are in the morningside heights area and a boba tea fanatic, than this is definitely a spot to check out. I got my standard passion fruit black tea with boba and it was delicious, not too sweet and they were very generous with the boba. Plus the price is just right! Definitely a great boba spot.

I've gotten violently ill and i'm so sure its from the bad milk they put in my drink, since i ate nothing processed that whole day. Never going back to that place, since they are a store that is RELYING solely on their milk drinks, so i'm extremely disappointed. I told my friends and they also decided to never go there again, since they don't look after our drinks- especially the milk which goes bad in a few hours, which every 5 year old would know. Since they didn't pay attention to their work, i have been trying to clean my car for a day but the smell won't come off. I hope tea magic workers be a bit more resourceful next time and care for their customers, which they should do unconditionally.

Place was kinda cute & bubbly but i was so disappointed with the Strawberry Banana Nutella Crepe that i got. Not only is it $14.15 (including tax) but it was very thin and messy .. i eat crepes often & i know how they should look & taste like but this one was drowned in "Nutella" i couldn't even see the crepe. Not only was it drenched in Nutella but it seemed like the Nutella was watered down cuz it was very liquidy & Nutella is thick & rich .. it didn't taste right. There were very little strawberries & bananas too. Also i literally just walked 60 feet outside the shop to eat & found out it wasn't even warm .at all! Hope you can understand my disappointment but if im paying $14 for a crepe it better be good or have at least a good presentation.

I been to tea magic in 72nd broadway so tea magic on 110th cathedral Broadway didn't disappointed me either. The workers were extremely nice which was a big plus toward to this review. I got the Thai tea with grass jelly and pudding for extra cost of each. The amount they gave it was a lot. I asked for 25% sugar and she was like sure why not. Than i also ordered lychee black tea but according to the menu they had lychee green tea. I told the lady in the front can i get with black tea instead and she was like sure. All uniform essential workers will get a 15% off through walk in only. They have this punch card where you get 10 stamps and you will get $3 off if I'm not wrong. The inside well organized, they also sell bottle drinks, macarons for $2 each, they have pudding, and more. If you order drinks online I believe you cant ask for stamps because when I ordered online through 72nd tea magic seamless they were like I cant give you stamps. Overall it was great experience at this location.

Ordered a hazelnut milk tea. The "hazelnut" flavor was literally a splash of Coffeemate creamer. This is by far the worst tasting boba I've ever had and will not be back. Tabaar, Gong Cha, and Shiny Tea are all much better than Tea Magic. Hard pass forever.

Great bubble tea spot. I get the large strawberry black tea with bubbles all the time. Admittedly it is a bit pricey but dang is it good stuff. They also make great slush and milk tea.

Was excited to try this place but when I came they didn't have regular boba. What kind of bubble tea place doesn't have tapioca boba? It was disappointing.

This place is great in terms of the location, especially if you're a Columbia student or employee. I like their honeydew, lavender, and rose flavors. The lavender and rose flavors seem like they are fresh and made with real flowers/plants rather than powder. I think the price point- small lavender tea with boba is $6.53 which seems steep but it's worth it for the flavor. I noticed recently they changed their cup to a mini stubby cup for the small, which I think is super cute!

As a entrepreneur and business owner that also started when I was younger in the restaurant business. I always try to give constructive criticism to other business owners, as well as calling out their employees that poorly represent the business they chose to work for. There was nobody there, the one attendant lady had the biggest negative attitude. I even had to ask her if anything was wrong with her. Her response was "I just woke up" followed by a bunch of attitude and slamming things after I asked her if she could use nondairy milk instead of cream. My drink was decent, but I won't go back and her negativity was so intolerable that I had to write a review so hopefully the owner will see it. C If you can't serve others with a smile, or at least, without the small brat attitude, then someone else deserves the job! And I left this because she was hell-bent on holding her attitude towards a customer in an empty store..

If you are looking for a good milk tea place that is open late near Columbia, this place is perfect! I loved how big their large size is. As you can see in the picture, it'll last you awhile and really fill you up. Flavor wise the teas were pretty good, average milk teas and the boba was well made although I would have liked more in the Thai milk tea. The frozen yogurt was also surprisingly good. They were very generous with the amount they gave us. It was tart and sweet with incredibly fresh strawberries. Great place for some pick me ups in the the middle of studying!

They overpriced everything and charging for everything their Milk tea series is way to sweet, the Magic crape is super small like the size of your palm lol. Go somewhere else and don't waste your money there.

Got my taro bubble tea with almond pudding. I had never noticed pudding as an add on option before and was curious, and it added a nice creamy sweetness to the tea. It wasn't thick, like your standard vanilla spoonable stuff is. In fact I couldn't even see it, it blended in completely. I'd love to get this again.

Really cute bubble tea place in the heart of nyc right next to Columbia! The inside, menu, and cups are quite modernized and they also have a lot of different Asian food options. They have shaved ice, frozen yogurt, and sparkling bubble tea which I'd love to try! They also have desserts in the fridge next to the counter as well as food like dumplings, tea eggs, crepes, and soup. The place is quite small, as is expected with nyc places, and there was only one person working there which made it a bit slow. But I liked that they had options for less sugar and ice. P.S. bubble tea tip: ask which flavors can be done with less sugar without distorting the flavor (usually black tea, green tea...) those will be made with actual teas as opposed to powdered flavors that are presweetened and often made with chemicals!

My favorite boba tea cafe in Uptown! Although pricey (A little less than $6 for a rather small tea with boba). **They have a $6 card minimum. My favorite is the Pomegranate Black Tea. It's very flavorful but also VERY sweet. I either get it at 50% sugar level which is apparently the lowest they can do (no 25% option) or no sugar added because the Pomegranate syrup is very sweet. I've also had the Mango Green Tea which I thought was okay, not as flavorful as the Pomegranate. The boba is decent. Most times the boba is a nice chewy consistency but on one occasion it was rather hard. However, $0.75 for a small serving of boba is very overpriced. Most boba places in the city are $0.50 and give you much more boba. I've also noticed that whether you order a size small or large, they give you the same amount of boba. In term of atmosphere, theres around 4 small tables, all with good lighting. Although it's not the best place to study due to the loud pop music playing in the seating area. Great grab and go place for boba tea in Uptown, however I highly recommend that their management re-consider how high their prices are, especially given much of the population in that area is students.

This cafe is small but very cute. They have a great selection of bubble teas and snacks/desserts. There's a good amount of seating inside if you want to chill. Staff is very friendly as well. I looooved the lychee green tea, the flavor was perfect and not overly sweet. The tapioca boba was very good too. Only thing I didn't like is that they have a minimum of $6 in order to use your card - that means you either need to bring cash or order a large drink. I also noticed the prices are much higher than other stores downtown. Still worth checking out!

Pretty average boba place, located really close to Columbia University campus. Service is friendly and the place is clean! I'm only rating 3 stars as the boba was a bit soft for my taste. Prices are average as well. They only go down to 50% sugar for some drinks. It looks like they recently introduced the brown sugar and fresh milk with boba drink, if you want to try that. I would come back for a quick boba fix.

Got the lavendar milk tea with Almond jelly. I love how this place has almond jelly and lots of other options from different flavors of popping boba to egg pudding and the classic boba. One thing that surprised me was the sizing options. The large (30 oz) looked huge and so, I opted for my usual 16oz or medium. It's a good place to get a large bubble tea for bubble tea lovers.

I feel like it's unfair to leave a review and I've only been hear once. so, this is just a benefit of the doubt review/rate. I came in hear looking for something quick. I'm not a straight up dairy person, haven't been for a minute, I do almond milk. So, looking at their teas I was excited to try their honey jasmine green tea. The man at the register, older and dressed in plain clothes, asked what size and if I wanted bubbles. I was shocked but pleasantly surprised that bubbles came in it so I said yes! After my order is processed he proceeds to make my drink and soon after his phone rings. While he's making my drink he's talking on the phone. Eventually he turns around and gives me a cloudy drink. Man, I'm stuck. Confused. Huh? So I just take the drink bc maybe this is how it's suppose to be made AND I have a bus that I've never taken before to catch. My first sip and I'm go "yeah this is milk". I could've went back and told him that this isn't what I asked for. But I didn't even feel like it because maybe just saying "honey jasmine green tea" was wrong. I probably should've said "dairy-free" too. Or he could've asked me tea or milk tea, so this confusion won't happen. Nevertheless, the drink was drunk. It wasn't that bad but I don't do dairy. I'd come back only to try the tea. TEA. And if it's not what I ordered I'll be sure to tell them and be specific. Point of this review, I didn't get what I ordered but it wasn't bad just not great. Be specific when you order

If you are accustomed to California boba, you will be very dissapointed. They really need to improve the quality of the tea to be charging the same price as places like gong cha in the neighborhood.

First and last time here. I asked for a drink with tapioca on the side. They gave me a drink with the tapioca in it. When I said they got my order wrong, they said that they couldn't fix it. And they don't offer refunds. Go to the bubble tea place down the street instead.

Some of the flavors are decent, but alot of the drinks have little to no flavor and just taste like colored milk. I wouldn't bother at all with the food, it appears at a lot of locations that so few people order it that they don't know how to prepare it properly.

Terrible terrible customer service. I ordered a gift pack $79.00 group of 8 teas. My first order. This was a gift for my daughter who was excited to try the tea. I like to purchase local to help out local small businesses. Well, Magic Hour tea is 34 miles from my home and it took 15 days to process the order and get it to me. Their website said it would arrive in 5 days. When I contacted them voicing my concerns, after 18 days, it just happen to arrive the next day. Funny how that happened. Also, I then received a response 3 days after sending inquiry. The response to me comes back to "Dear one". Your order was delivered on the 3rd and they listed the tracking number. No shit! Nothing about sorry for delay or anything about hoping we enjoy the tea. My the way on the message I sent them, I signed my full name. I don't need to be talked down to as "Dear one". Be aware of their poor processing practices and their condescending communications. I see from reviews, I am not the first to complain about their customer service. I will never order from these people again!!

I used to go to Tea Magic a lot when I was a student, which was well before I knew about Yelp. I finally went back when I was in the area and had a good experience, just as I used to. Upon arrival, there was a decently sized line, but orders were taken quickly so, despite the business, service was quick. Tea Magic also has a decent seating area for those who wish to hang out. I ordered coffee black milk tea with 50% sugar and bubbles. It had great flavor and they gave me many bubbles. The bubbles were a little too squishy, but still good. My girlfriend had oolong milk tea with bubbles and no sugar. It had a great toasted flavor and was enjoyable. Overall, Tea Magic is a decent bubble tea place in Morningside Heights which, unfortunately, lacks the plethora of bubble tea spots that you find further south. It has good seating, good prices, and a large variety of flavors.

They have many kinds of milk tea and I like it! I got oolong milk tea with bubble and I could taste strong oolong flavor which was nice! My friend got coffee black milk tea and it was just okay I think. Their bubbles were cooked too much and smashed.. I wish the bubbles were more firm!! There was a long line when I got there but it went faster than I expected. There are some seats but not many. I hope they cook bubbles better next time and I would come back to try other flavors!!

The bubble tea here is solid and comes in many fruit and milk flavors, and a choice of either slush or tea. The tapioca pearls are chewy and you can customize the amount of added sugar to your tea so that it is not too sweet. You can also add different toppings to your drink - my favorites are the boba poppers and fruit jellies. The prices are very reasonable but beware of the $5 credit card minimum - a bubble tea costs a bit less so be prepared to buy another snack as well. I've had the tea eggs from here which came in a ziploc bag and were too salty. They also sell other frozen desserts like shaved ice and frozen yogurt. There are two flavors of frozen yogurt on their menu - original and cookies & cream - but I've gone three times and every time cookies and cream wasn't available. If they consistently don't have a flavor, maybe they should take it off the menu? Overall, solid bubble tea and reasonable prices - great place for a quick snack near Columbia.

The bubbles are solid. Lot of good flavor options. Great location for Columbia peeps. It's not on the same level as Boba Guys (ie not the highest quality natural ingredients) but it works well for what it is. Instagram @_dasharenee

I love this boba place, it's so convenient to Columbia and the flavors are great. I will say there are a few staff members (not all) that are a bit snarky but it's a NY thing sooo ‍

I swear I reviewed this place and for some reason Yelp says I haven't, so here we go ..... This is one of the first boba spots in the area that I'd go to at least twice a week to get my fix in the first year I moved to NYC. However, after Culture Tea opened, I went there more often. I now only come to Tea Magic when making a run to Westside or something else that is closer to it. The store has one long bench against the wall with about 5 small round tables and a few seats. There is a counter on the other side of the store for people to place their drinks and lean on. They have free Wi-Fi in the store, so often you'll see students "camped" on the tables or side bench against the window. Other than boba they have a variety of food: steamed buns, dumplings, tea eggs, snow/shaved ice desserts, etc. So definitely a good choice for a boba and a snack. The service is usually quick, however they do not like making any changes after making your order, so be sure you know what you want. P.S. Don't forget a stamp card if you plan on making multiple visits.

This place is great. The atmosphere is nice and friendly. I have 3 different orders that every single time never disappoint. Strawberry Milk Tea with Strawberry pop balls. Honeydew Milk Tea with extra boba. And Passionfruit Black Tea with passionfruit pop balls. I am never disappointed and always leave with a huge smile on my face.

TeaMagic is definitely a hit or miss place. Some of their flavors are the best I've ever had, while others are quite literally their worst. Here's an overview of the flavors I've had: 1. Hazelnut: Amazing, literally my favorite flavor ever. This is my usual order. 2. Taro: Also amazing, one of the best taros I've ever had. Definitely more on the sugary side (which I like). 3. Coconut: Very good -- more on the coconut side than the milk (which i like). 4. French Vanilla: Solid, definitely up there, but I've had better french vanilla. 5. Almond: Absolutely not -- Horrendous. Please do not get! 6. Black Milk tea: also incredibly mediocre! regretted trying it.

Ordered the mango sparkling with boba. Though it is not a tea shop I would go out of my way for it was very refreshing and the boba was the right texture.
