Perched atop the vibrant city of Miami, Sugar Miami offers a unique dining experience, with breathtaking views and creative culinary delights.
The first thing you notice upon entering Sugar Miami is the stunning tropical decor. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with a chic and elegant ambiance that perfectly complements its location, and you're treated to panoramic views of the Miami skyline that are simply mesmerizing.
Now, onto the food. The lobster crispy rice was a delightful start to our meal. The combination of tender lobster and crispy rice was spot on, creating a dish that was both flavorful and satisfying. However, the "money bag" dumpling was a bit of a letdown. While the concept was intriguing, the short rib stuffing was disappointingly raw, which detracted from the overall experience.
Thankfully, the crispy octopus came to the rescue. Served with a tangy Romesco sauce, the octopus was perfectly cooked with a delicious crispy exterior. It was a standout dish that left us wanting more.
Ironically, the best part of the meal, the 21+ ice cream, is sourced from a local ice cream maker. We opted for the lucky brownie flavor. Imagine a rich and creamy ice cream infused with a hint of liquor, reminiscent of a decadent Irish Cream after-dinner drink with chunks of brownies. It was the perfect way to end our meal on a high note.
In conclusion, there were a few misses, and the $100 per person minimum felt excessive, especially when served raw food. Grab a cocktail at the bar and skip dinner.
