My go to place whenever I want to relax and recharge. Tea is the best. Cakes and cookies are also delicious. Have had so many lovely times here.

I simply love TeaHaus! I enjoy sipping on a cup of tea from their extensive selection, catching up with friends, or reading a book in the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The pastries are great too!

WOW! My husband and I were caught in a downpour while out together. We had been eyeballing this place as we do like tea, and this gave us the push to finally run for cover inside! We ordered our tea and the cashier was so helpful, and pricing and treats great! We sat down and realized the table said “NO WI-FI NO LAPTOPS” - we laughed as we had planned on getting on our laptops, but rolled with it! There’s tons of board games, we selected checkers. We drank tea, had snacks, and ended up having one of the best date nights we have ever had waiting for the rain to stop! We played endless rounds and finished our teapots. By the end we wondered why more places weren’t encouraging this kind of connection - this place is special - thanks for a great time and the gentle push🥰!

I love coming here for the tea. They have just about everything you could want! But their expansion to cocktails has made this a great place to enjoy a drink over conversation (love the NA options, too). They play the music at the perfect volume to hear people and for it to feel like a relaxing space. Their tonic is the best I've ever had by a WIDE margin, both as a G&T and a tonic + soda.

Google
The Tea Haus was exactly what I was hoping for. A great selection of teas and sweets in a cozy, inviting environment, perfect for catching up with friends and family. The wall of tea is quite impressive, and easy to navigate (especially with the expert help of Paul!). So many great varieties and flavors to choose from. I look forward to coming back!

In January, my daughter sent me to Teahaus for a bag of her favorite almond tea to bring to her in Barcelona. It smelled so good, I bought a bag for myself. I've been back twice since then, stopping in after a dinner out with my partner for tea and dessert. YUM! The owner is lovely, as are all the staff, and the place is cozy. Next time we'll be trying one of the tea-infused cocktails!

A cozy and comfortable spot to unwind after work, offering delicious tea and delightful little desserts. 💕

Google
The staff were nice but not knowledgeable on the products sold. We got the Ukrainian honey cake and had decent flavor but was pretty dry, wish they would’ve shown us what the inside of the cake looked like or had more information on the description of the cake before we purchased it.

Yelp
Kevin really buttered our buns today. Every one of the staff was lovely and had great conversation. Kevin generously wafted a variety of teas for us to smell and choose from. We ended up choosing Turkish Apple and Passionfruit. We finished off with a Horchata and a Margarita macaroon. I love Teahaus and have returned year after year. A great place for tea, cocktails, or treats. A raise for everyone!

Yelp
TeaHaus has been one of my absolute favorite Ann Arbor spots since I moved here 12+ years ago. Admittedly, I was a bit heartbroken when they changed a few of their dining options up during the pandemic and subsequent expansion (what would I do without my English Quickie??) but I have to say the changes have been for the best and what was once an already special place is even more amazing. First off, with the expansion they've added more seating and renovated it to a cozier place. They still have all my favorite baked goods (scones, macarons, etc) but they've added even more options including cakes, savory bakes, etc. And they have a bar! Yes, they have a nice menu of unique, tea based cocktails, as well as mocktails. And of course, the tea is still just as amazing as it's always been. The wall is full of options and, like before, it's just as hard to choose. Most recently I came on a Friday night to pick up a gift card and it filled me with such joy. They have a no-wifi/device policy during certain times and I have to say, seeing a packed house of people playing games, working on puzzles, sipping tea and cocktails, and just enjoying time socializing and TOGETHER was a soothing balm during a frigid January night. I walked out with my gift card for my cousin plus a duo of scones for breakfast the next day, some petit fours for a lil' sweet treat that evening, and a delicious spiced apple tea to go. I'm already excited for the opportunity to visit with some friends of family some upcoming evening and enjoying a warm cup and some warm company. Oh, and though I can't get my beloved English Quickie on the regular anymore, I can still join them for high tea the last weekend of every month to get my fix of finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats.

Yelp
After hearing nothing but positive things for the past year about this place, I finally decided to check it out. For some reason I expected it to be super tight and intimate on the inside, but they had more seating than I was expecting. Before you get in line, there are samples of the daily brews available to try. When I entered, there was one Rooibos and one green/black blend, both of which were nice. The other advantage of the daily brew is that it's nominally cheaper than the other teas they have in stock if you're getting tea service. They have a massive selection and the staff was very knowledgeable about the products they had in stock. I gave a brief description of what I was looking for and they pulled three off the shelf for me to smell, all of which fit the profile of what I wanted. I opted for a 20 oz pot of the autumn spice ($5) and found a seat at the "bar". My tea was ready fairly quickly and was delicious. They also have milk, creamer, and oat milk to the side along with several options for sweetener. One of the shticks of this place is that they don't allow laptops or have WiFi, which I naturally have mixed feelings on, but there are enough places for remote work in AA where it's nice to have a space to unplug. I do wish they had a better system for turning over tables, though, as there were quite a few people camping out with board games, books, you name it. At the very least, they could take a waitlist; I felt like I was fighting for my life trying to get an open seat. Many people had pastries on their tables, all of which looked nice, but weren't the sort of pastries that I typically spring for. Maybe I'd try them at some point, but I wasn't feeling it yesterday. Overall a great space to relax. Love their hours too - open until 8pm most days!

Yelp
Can't say enough great things about the Teahaus. Loose tea heaven. Macarons, too! Now, me, being a coffee guy, is a total rook in this shoppe. Yet I'm welcomed like one of the regulars. They even take the time to explain all about these wonderful teas. One of the advantages of meeting in large groups is sampling. Seven different teas and seven desserts. Sullivan's Irish Breakfast tea was a hit as was the Nepal Shangri-la. Some terrific desserts and finger munchies, too. They also stock accessories and sell teas for home brewing. Although, I prefer to relax on site, with family and friends. 10/24

Yelp
Came for a muffin and tea. Muffin was good though the $5+ creamsicle tea tasted like water, notified the barista and they told me to add sweetener, seems like they should have assisted me with something more of my liking that didn't need to be doctored up. After adding sweetener and ice tea still tasted like water, threw drink away! Waste of money and time, won't be back, extremely disappointed.

Yelp
This was my first time at TeaHaus, and I was there for a first date. There is pretty limited seating, but it isn't bad. There is a massive, well-organized tea selection and you can ask for recommendations or for a worker to waft the smell. (The tea is also for sale in different quantities.) I ended up getting a 20oz iced cream of earl grey. There's a mini fridge with milk options, and a simple syrup for sweetener. The scones and macarons were pretty good, with real clotted cream and yummy lemon curd. I'm giving 4 stars for lack of seating, and running out of scones 8 hours before closing.

Yelp
Wonderful tea shop, and I've been excited to watch their expansion over the years! Always the best place to go for quality and well-sourced loose leaf teas (the owner is so knowledgeable and travelled), teapots/tea accessories/mugs, and gifts for tea lovers. They also have fun pastries, including huge macarons, to munch on with a fresh pot of tea. They are also great community members, hosting and/or a part of many events! Today my husband and I went for their Full English tea, first time back after many years. It's now offered one weekend per month (check their website for exact dates), with a phone call and deposit securing your reservation. The tea is hosted in their next door space - Eat More Tea. I absolutely love having this tea option in Ann Arbor! Compared to teas in other large cities, this is a fun and very affordable way to enjoy this nice experience. $50 per person gets you unlimited tea (can try as many different ones as you'd like as well), plus a tower of savory and sweet goodies - a variety of little finger sandwiches, the classic scones with clotted cream lemon curd and jam, and a few small sweets. Some of their bites feature tea as well, such as the lavender shortbread with earl grey tea, and a brie open faced sandwich bite with pears I assume are steeped in a rooibos tea. Delicious! Everything is tasty and it's a good amount of food for lunch (if you ask me, my husband said he could eat more haha). Fun way to spend ~an hour and a half!

Yelp
On any visit to Ann Arbor, I'll make at least three hours to meet up with a friend and buy a bunch of tea to take home. The TeaHaus has a warm atmosphere and has lots of thoughtfully items for shopping (and which I bought). The desserts are baked well and professionally, and I loved the GF option of a dense cake that went well with my perfectly brewed pot of tea. I also love the petit fours, but making the decision about what to choose was a tough one, requiring much deliberation. I'm familiar with their tea selection, since I order from home. And I order from home because the Assam Mokalbari is one of the best teas I've ever had. The Earl Grey is also highly recommended, as is the O'Sullivan's Favorite and the 5 o'clock and the Oolongs. It's obvious the Tea Haus knows tea, that they're true tea lovers, and that they get those of us who are as well.

Yelp
I've been a regular at TeaHaus for a couple of months now and I will admit that this is the perfect spot to grab some tea and relax. All of the staff members are knowledgeable about tea and usually have good suggestions if you aren't sure of what to order. 100% recommend this place for anyone who loves tea.

Yelp
TeaHaus is the perfect embodiment of cozy, and was probably my favorite place I went to in Ann Arbor. They have a HUGE selection of teas, so tea lovers will have a blast here. They also have pastries such as macarons, cookies, cakes, and scones with clotted cream and your choice of berry compote or lemon curd. It seems like the pastries vary from day to day or maybe week to week. The teas are brewed fresh and taste incredible! The pastries are also quite yummy. I particularly enjoyed the chai spiced cake, gluten free almond cake with lemon glaze, and brown butter macaron! This was my first time having scones with clotted cream and jam, and that combined with tea it felt like I was having the full English experience. TeaHaus is a no-screen place with no wifi, so you can't sit there with your laptop out and be doing work or studying because their main objective is for you to disconnect and talk with friends, play board games, or relax with a book and enjoy your own company. There is a good amount of tables inside, and a couple cozy corners with couches and board games. It was the perfect place to escape the cold. If you're looking for a place to catch up with friends, this is the perfect place! I can also see myself bringing a book and reading here, but it can get loud so I'd recommend some headphones.

Riley S.

Yelp
Great customer service. I would highly recommend checking out their website before stopping in to get an idea of what you want, their selection is huge. Last time I stopped in I came out with seven different bags of tea and have loved each of them.

Yelp
Good vibes and funky teapots. Soothe the soul with a pot of tea for optimal rejuvenation and tasty treats that curl the toes.

Yelp
So awesome. If you are a tea connoisseur this place will not disappoint. No real written menú but rather decide based on all the containers of tea lining the back wall. There are crazy amount of choices. I went with the wild cherry but next time will go for the strawberry mango. Husband had pear flavor which he loved too. Friendly service and fantastic product. Some limited seating available in this adorable shop on the campus of U Michigan. Definite local gem.

Yelp
I've never seen so many types of tea in my life. It's $5 ($6 for their fufu kinds) for a pot of any of them. They don't trust customers to steep their own, but apparently you can say you like it strong. I was surprised they had some gluten free options, but unfortunately the 'rose-glazed pistachio' cake was not good - oily and near tasteless. Also got a bit of weird attitude from the staff when I tried to clean off my table after the tea and put the pot on the counter - I didn't understand the 'Bus around the corner' sign.

Yelp
My husband and I travel to Ann Arbor frequently. However, on this particular visit we drove past TeaHaus and decided to stop. I am so glad we did!!! This place is amazing. I am all about ambiance , good service and decor and this had it all. First of all when we walked in the place was buzzing with business which was nice to see and we took a seat at their really cute bar ( not knowing you have to order at the counter around the corner ). They have this huge wall filled with tea canisters that you can select from hot or cold and you pick it up at the bar. I was super impressed with and loved my tea selection which was a cinnamon vanilla rooibos blend caffeine free...delicious! And the price reasonable about $4 (can't remember the oz). After I get my tea we sat at the bar and just chilled and the coolest part is that owner was there at the bar and started talking to us telling us about the shop, renovations, hours and some events they have. She was super nice very helpful letting us know the process of ordering. Great service!! They do have some food items but I was there for the tea which did not disappoint. I highly recommend this place and will definitely make this a stop each time I'm in Ann Arbor....it's lovely! Thank you

Yelp
Another part of my "Birthday Package" was a wonderful trip to the TeaHaus Saturday late morning with my sister and her oldest daughter (my niece & Godchild). It was right smack downtown where parking is a nightmare-but they have lived here for more than 30 years -and know all the tricks so found a spot a couple blocks away. This casual concept was also very welcoming. You go up to the tea bar where they have a huge volume of dried teas. They have a written description of every tea and you can ask to smell the blends to see which one is best for you! My sister and I ordered their "Fall Harvest Blend" and my niece ordered a "Ginger Spice Blend" . Once ordered you pay and then can go to a table OR to the sweet & savory pastry order area or-they have a coffee & wine bar that wraps around the back. Frankly, I don't know how anyone gets by the pastry area without ordering !!!! They have everything from freshly made french Macaroons to Chocolate Mousse to Scones of sweet or savory variety, and many varieties Shortbread cookies. Everything was delicious. It was a wonderful place to chat and catch up after a busy week! BTW-no Wi-Fi available and no laptops allowed. Can you imagine? They encourage human interaction.!!!! Highly recommend if you're visiting the great City Of Ann, Arbor , in Michigan. PS-the young man that took our tea order, and our pastry order was very patient and professional. You could tell he enjoyed his work!

Jo M.

Yelp
My first visit! My tea tasted excellent after a 12 min wait. It was a busy day. As I walked in, I noticed 3 counters. There's no indication the counters have different services. There's no signage to assist where to go to place your order or to pick up your order. Special needs individuals would have a more rewarding experience if there was signage in place. Thank yo, greatly.

Yelp
Such a cute place to catch up with friends or study. The food is quite pricey and sometimes doesn't warrant the cost, but the daintiness of it all certainly adds to the experience here. I usually get the english quickie, which includes a scone with 2 jams, lemon curd & clotted cream, a dessert (I always go for the macaron), and 3 savory options. The scones are AMAZING - so wonderfully buttery and flaky. For the savory options, I prefer the salami and chicken salad, but they're all delicious! The macarons are the biggest ones I've ever seen. However, although they're good, I still prefer the ones at Le bon macaron, which are more intense in flavor. Unsurprisingly, the tea here is the best part. My favorite is the strawberry mint lavender - such a comforting flavor with a refreshing aftertaste. I have not visited since before COVID, but I look forward to the day when I can return for another afternoon of tea and scones!

Yelp
Do I think these macarons are authentically sized? No. Do I think these macarons are a great bang for your buck? Definitely! I absolutely love coming to Teahaus. The HUGE macarons has a variety of flavors that they keep changing and consistently taste delicious. I recommend that if you want to try multiple flavors, to share with others. I think one Teahaus macaron is probably the size of 3-4 "normal" macarons. In addition to the macarons, I absolutely love the tea here. I think it is such a unique experience that the staff let you smell the tea leaves. And ever since the pandemic, they are able to fan the leaves so you can smell it even through your mask. I would say my absolute favorite tea flavor is the Silverneedles White Tea. It is so light and refreshing to have alongside your macarons. Another favorite and unique tea flavor of mine is the Blood Orange one.

Yelp
Strawberry tea was amazing and scones were so good I loved the white chocolate raspberry and lemon curd were wonderful. We tried all the toppings for scones and lemon curd was the favorite. Loved the tea so much we brought some home. Quiches were both delicious and it was a fun afternoon with my girlfriend.

Yelp
TeaHaus is a pretty cute tearoom in Ann Arbor! There are two different sides when you walk in - a side for tea (made to order or to-go) and a side to order food. The side with the food has about 8 tables to sit at after you order your tea and food, but some tables may be reserved for afternoon tea. We went on a Sunday afternoon around 2-3pm and were able to get a seat before a crowd came in. You have to order on both sides separately if you want tea and food, but you can make a tab and pay it on the other side which makes it easier. English Quickie (one scone + clotted cream, one dessert, and three finger sandwiches) - The English Quickie is a great deal, only $10.25 for a tea set! It was a good amount of food for an afternoon snack and it paired nicely with some tea. The scone was really good and the sandwiches were pretty standard! There is a very big selection of awesome teas that cover the wall of the tea shop. The workers are very knowledgeable and can make recommendations on the teas. They are pretty reasonable to drink in the shop too! Only $2.95 for 12-oz hot tea or $3.85 for 20-oz hot or iced tea. We tried a small hot hojicha tea and a large iced peach oolong tea I think. They were both good! This is a cute little tea shop which is very reasonable and has a wide selection of teas. It's really cute and I would recommend!

Yelp
This review is about the TeaHaus private event full English tea service only. Private events are held in the tea room, which is decorated in tea-inspired and whimsical knick knacks, which created the perfect atmosphere for my bridal shower. We added a floral arrangement to the front window, but really no additional decor was needed. The private event menu allows you to select five savory items, one specialty scone (in addition to the traditional scone), and three sweet endings. Our selections were printed on menus by the TeaHaus and provided with each place setting. Everything was delicious! Each table of four was served their own tower with enough bites provided for each guest to try everything. My favorites included: the cucumber sandwich, peppered salami and herb butter crostini, and the key lime tartlets. At the end of service, boxes were provided for guests to take home the leftovers, which we had a lot of given the generous spread. Our server was an absolute darling! She was so sweet and attentive, even asking if I needed anything extra to take home since brides frequently do not have much of a chance to eat while entertaining guests. This was such a tremendous and special experience; I highly recommend the TeaHaus for bridal showers or any party to celebrate your gals!

Yelp
TeaHaus finally reopened their indoor seating and I could not be more ecstatic!!! I've been coming here for their macarons and tea for the past three years but was never able to experience sitting inside to enjoy my tea fresh. The interior is absolutely stunning and gives the coziest vibes! The decor made my heart melt, and it truly is a wonderful place to relax during the cold winter months. The tiramisu I ate was delicious, and the staff were extremely helpful in suggesting which tea I should get. I ended up getting the Eierlikör tea, which has a creamy eggnog taste. I am beyond overjoyed and can't wait to come here with my friends!

Yelp
The Tea Haus is a place that even a daily coffee drinker like me found to be exceptional. While I start most days with a cup of Java, I had long wanted to check out the Tea Haus. After a book club that I'm a part of decided to make that our meeting place for February, we made reservations and eagerly awaited the day that we would go there. Located not far from Ann Arbor's Kerrytown, as soon as you walk through the doors of the Tea Haus, it's clear that you've entered a relaxing oasis. Our group was promptly shown to our table, and our tea orders were quickly taken. It didn't matter what tea we chose to start, because with unlimited tea with our reservation, we could easily choose a different tea for our next pot that day. Around the time that our tea arrived, the tiers of food began rolling out. Sweet, savory, vegetarian, and omnivore -- there was something for everyone with the full tea service at the Tea Haus. We sipped our tea, nibbled our scones, and munched on dainty sandwiches, all while discussing our monthly book selection. It was the most perfect setting for a get-together like that, and one that I highly recommend for group events. But even if your plans only include a party of one, add the Tea Haus to your list of places to check out soon!

Alex R.

Yelp
Before the pandemic, I used to enjoy working at TeaHaus, despite their egregiously overpriced tea. Disappointingly, it appears the current owner prioritizes compulsive sociality over the neurocognitive and professional needs of their customers. So, if you're similarly not amenable to ableist nonsense--or if you simply do not enjoy having your individual behavior regulated as if you were a misbehaving child--I do not recommend coming here.
google avatar

Grace K.

Yelp
I've loved Teahaus over the years of living in Ann Arbor, and have only come to love and respect them even more after seeing the ways they've supported Ann Arbor community since everything shut down in March. They kept kids fed with lunches schools would normally provide them if their families are unable to and provide dinners for Food Gatherers Community Kitchen. On Juneteenth, all of their sales proceeds were donated to area black-owned businesses and Focus (non-profit civil and human rights org in Detroit). Despite everything happening, their service continues to be stellar and tea/food top-notch! Teahaus allows contactless payment through their website where you can select items for your order and collect everything the next day. I've ordered sanitizer, tea, macarons, a small glass teapot, and bake-at-home scones with all the fixings (house-made lemon curd, marmalade, clotted cream, and berry compote YUM!). They've recently installed a pick-up window next to their front entrance. Convenient and safer than entering indoors to make your purchase. In summary, I've been impressed by TeaHaus's service, quality and selection of products, and dedication to the well-being of the Ann Arbor community. I will be continuing to shop here throughout the pandemic and after.

Yelp
This is a really cute place to drink tea, shop for tea-related goods, do work/read, or just hangout with friends in Ann Arbor! The service is so personable, warm, and knowledgeable, which honestly can't be easy because their menu offers such a wide array of teas. The woman behind the counter recommended the Kukicha Hojicha when I said I like green teas, and I decided to be adventurous and get it iced and carbonated (hey, I was semi-hot from walking around exploring downtown Ann Arbor!) It was a unique drink that surprisingly worked--very cool and refreshing. I think it's so cool they can make any tea carbonated. I've never seen that before, and then they'd never heard someone ask for that type of tea carbonated before they told me! You don't have to be a tea connoisseur to appreciate TeaHaus. Don't delay, visit today

Yelp
I have a new bad habit of getting French macaroons from here when I'm around. :p they are huge! Their flavors change every month too. They're all pretty sweet and most don't have strong flavors other than sweet but it does hit my sweet tooth. The cafe area is nice to sit down in especially during the cold winter. Haven't tried anything else from them but the food looks like it could be good and so does the tea.

Yelp
The macarons are delicious! My friend and I split the sugarplum and the winter peppermint one. The sugarplum absolutely melted in my mouth. The peppermint one tasted like a candy cane. Yum! They were huge too and big enough to split. I had a black tea: lavender mint. It smelled really yummy. The taste wasn't bad. It was my birthday so I had my tea for free. It was a nice tea pot size! This place has a cozy feel to it. It is great for good conversation. The staff were so nice and helpful. My friend started a tab and we forgot to pay when we left. Came back in 20 min later to pay and felt horrible about it. They were soooo kind and understanding! Definitely recommend this gem!

Yelp
This is a great place to grab a warm drink especially when it's cold outside! I got the China milk jade tea and it was so delicious. I was told by my brother that they brew this over hot milk, which gives it a wonderful taste! I definitely recommend coming here to get some quality tea/coffee!

Yelp
Teahaus is just such a gem. Since the pandemic (perhaps before, not sure) they've been actively helping the community by offering free meals to those in need. They've been super smart about converting their business to be safe and following guidelines from the state gov and health recommendations. Not to mention they have a delightful selection of tea and food available to pick up in a safe manner. I've been very happy with my assortment of teas, tea-infused butter, and fruit jam I ordered in the summer. They have a pretty good selection of herbal teas if, like me, you are caffeine-sensitive. Online shopping was easy and pickup was swift and safe. Looking forward to trying more of their selection, including curbside scones and toppings!

Yelp
When I used to live in Ann Arbor, this was one of my go to tea / afternoon spots whether to hang out with friends or to just come study. The tea selection is extensive and there's a whole room filled with hundreds of jars of tea that you can smell before committing to get a whole kettle of it brewed. You can also buy some of it to go. The food is yummy too, there's finger sandwiches and other snacks you can get along with your tea. The macaroons are AMAZING, they're so large and there's so many fun flavors. I always come here to get macaroons whenever I'm back in the city. Love this spot for an afternoon snack to hang out with friends.

Yelp
TeaHaus is probably my favorite favorite place in Ann Arbor. I cannot stress how cute and aesthetically pleasing this place is. Lowkey might be my stress reliever place. Service: The service is normal but they do help you when picking out your tea. I should probably explain the setup... You walk in and they have this huge book of different types of teas and you can choose from there. Then you can either take it to go or get it in like a cute teapot and cups. Then they serve it to you. There is a separate place to get desserts. Food/price: Got to say hands down try the big sized macaroons. It is so worth the price. And for the teas, I like citrus teas so the blood orange is my favorite. Audience: It is good for any audience: dates, friends, and even to have a cute tea party! (AHH I saw three little girls dressed up as fairies and the stacked fancy desserts) Recommend/tips: Remember space can be an issue and sometimes you might have to ask for a to-go! :(

Yelp
This review is not for the English tea service, this is solely based off dropping in and grabbing tea and macarons. They have a wide range of teas and it's almost overwhelming, but the staff did a great job at helping me out. I really liked the environment and how peaceful it seemed inside. I asked for a sweet tea and they recommended the peaches and cream which I thought was good, but not all that sweet. I ordered 3 macarons (I only remember the flavors being candy corn and plum) and they were surprisingly average. They looked delicious but I wasn't a fan of any of them. I wish I could say I love this place because everyone I know speaks so highly of them, but I just wasn't a huge fan.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in Ann Arbor. I love the tea selection, the quality, the staff, and the environment. Everything is high quality with thoughtfulness to those coming. Raw honey, teaspoons, personal teapots, it's all great! The staff and owner are kind and considerate. Feels like they love having you there. Treat yourself and try the English tea party. The finger sandwiches, scones, lemon curd!!, and all the tea you want. I'm a big fan. TeaHaus is my cup of tea! Wish I could give them 6 stars!!

Yelp
This is a favorite spot for any tea- and macaron-lover in town! I docked it down a star due to several factors. First, the layout of the place can be confusing to newbies here. The shop has two entrances, one that is more food-focused (which has more tables for sitting at), and one that is more tea-focused. You can run up a tab ordering from both sides of the store to ensure that you get both food and drink, but the process for this is not clearly marked out, and so you do get quite a few people wandering in and out of both sides amidst the tables of dining customers, in the process of deciding what to feast on. Secondly, the decor of this place is confusing - parts of it evoke a tea merchant's counter from a century ago, whereas other parts of it (like their utilitarian modern black chairs and table) - decidedly don't. Thirdly, they don't have or didn't offer a menu you can hold in your hands for the food side (they have a tea list on the counter for the tea side), so that it can be difficult for people who aren't able to read the menu off the wall board, and you end up standing there awkwardly gawking in front of the food-side cashier before you make your order. The tea side of this is amazing. There are so many varieties of tea that it gets difficult to choose one to try. They serve many varieties each of black tea, green tea and floral tea, and allow you to smell before you make your selection. Tea brewing is kept to a high standard - when you order a pot, they finish brewing the tea and serve it without the tea leaves in order to ensure it does not oversteep. A 20oz pot is good to share for two people to have perhaps 1.5 tea cups each. I tried the lychee black tea and would highly recommend it, but I suspect that the other flavors are excellent as well, so do whatever catches your fancy. The tea-side of this shop also features a range of tea brewing paraphernalia, if you're looking for a gift for any tea-loving friend. The macarons here deserve a paragraph of their own. They are about a (small) palm-size each, and are lots of macaron crust filled with some cream. Friends of mine come here especially to obtain a macaron. I could distinctly taste the bourbon pecan flavor in my macaron cream and enjoyed that; however my slight critique is that the cream was unevenly spread throughout the macaron. But if you're having one of those days that a smaller-sized macaron won't cut it, you know where to visit! Service was great - but the customer experience was limited by the layout factors I mentioned above. By the way, this place also features a fairy door (pictured), for those doing that tour around town!

Yelp
I strongly hope that no one goes here to have a long study session. While TeHaus is a niche spot, it's pretty popular, so seating may not be the easiest thing to find. -------------------------------------------- When you walk in, you may be pleased to smell a mixture of scents, ranging from earthy to milky smooth, etc. There is a wide assortment of choices, which may make the process of finding that perfect tea to drink even more difficult. Luckily, there's a very detailed and helpful tea menu, although, it's more of a manual. They are very eager to allow you to smell the different types of teas, which makes it even easier to decide. What I especially enjoyed about TeaHaus was that instead of filling up a large teacup with tea, it is served in a teapot, which makes the whole experience more ~authentic~. Overall, if you're looking for a nice and quiet (but not too quiet) place to catch up with an old friend, new friend, or to quietly do some self-reflective reading, TeaHaus is the way to go.

Yelp
I got Victorian Earl Grey tea and two macaron, they were so good. I think I'll be back with all my girlfriends so we can have our tea time! ‍ If you the English high tea, with many deserts on the plates, you need to reserve. They don't provide the service or the deserts without reservations. :( Thank you TeaHaus for such a good experience, I particularly enjoyed smelling all of the tea leaves when the worker helped me to decide what kind of tea I like. Favorite place in Ann Arbor! Great service too.

Yelp
What a cute spot in A2! It's in a fantastic, convenient location too. I was looking for a place for solid Chinese tea and Teahaus definitely delivers on that. We ordered: *12 oz pot of Yunnan Pu Erh - I liked this so much that I bought 50g to take home ($5.70) *20 oz pot of Oolong *Scone Plate (traditional scone & specialty scone served with clotted cream, lemon curd, haus-made compote, marmalade) - not the best scones I've had -- they were a little bitter for some reason but acceptable! Love me some clotted cream. *Lavender Shortbread Cookie: almost a little bit too lavender-y which reminds me of lavender body butter/soap, but the shortbread texture was great! *PB&J (strawberry pink peppercorn) Macaron - It tasted exactly like an uncrustable haha. I didn't think I would like this one at all, but it wasn't bad *Alfajores (dulce de leche sandwich cookies) - these were my FAVORITE of the bunch. The shortbread was wonderfully buttery (I even liked the crumbly nature of them) and the dulce de leche added a beautiful delicate sweetnesss. I could have eaten 3-4 more of these, easy. Note that if it's not a premium tea, it's one pour only (they brew it for you & don't give you the tea leaves). I'll be back for high tea (must make reservation in advance!) 273/365

Yelp
Street parking, but there are lots nearby as well. They have lots of tea options, but I love their macarons. So many flavors and they change them up every few weeks. Sometimes they have them for the season which makes it fun too. I always try to pop in for some of their macarons when I'm in Ann Arbor.

Yelp
Adorable tea shop, great tea and service! Come for the full English Tea Service! Tucked away in historic Kerrytown, TeaHaus is a very cute local tea shop in Ann Arbor. With a friend visiting in town, I thought it would be fun to do something different so we did the Full English Tea Service. You have to make reservations ahead of time, so make sure you do that, but they are very accommodating and weren't booked at all for a Saturday afternoon. We even arrived early and they had our table all set up already. The great thing about Saturdays in the dining room: it's a no-laptop zone! With the Full English Tea Service you get: * Bottomless teapots so you can try all the tea you want * First course (a soup) * Tower: finger sandwiches, scones w/ all the accouterments (clotted cream, lemon curd, jam, marmalade), macarons, cookies, petite fours They were even accommodating and made vegetarian finger sandwiches for me. I tried the Indian chai which was pretty much identical to my mom's, so that was great! For the vegetarian finger sandwiches I had: * Spinach Artichoke crostini * Egg salad (with a horseradish mustard. SO good) * Brie and fig jam crostini Everything was so delicious! The clotted cream and lemon curd on the scones were to die for. The macarons were so light and flavorful and the petite fours were very rich but delicious. The price for the full service is $28/person which is reasonable considering the service is fantastic, the staff friendly, the food delicious. I paid the same for a place in Birmingham and it wasn't nearly as good (their accommodating to vegetarians wasn't nearly as nice). I would absolutely recommend TeaHaus to folks for either the full service or just buying tea and eating in the cafe!

Yelp
I love TeaHaus. I stop by there both to buy loose lead tea to brew at home (their selection is huge and no matter what type of tea you'll prefer they'll definitely have something for you) and to order food and get reading done in the store. My go-to is the English quickie, it's a very good deal. For a little over $10 you get a scone and all the fixings, three finger sandwiches, and a dessert of your choice. So far I've been impressed by everything I've had! One thing to note if it's your first time there is that the way you order can be confusing--the food ordering is in one room and tea ordering is in another, and if you plan to do both just tell them so and they'll start a tab for you. Another thing to note is that seating is limited. Last time I was there I saw multiple parties who had planned to dine in end up getting tea and food to go because there was nowhere to sit--they looked sad.

Yelp
Came here about a month ago with my sils and it's such a cute little tea place! I wish there was more room to sit (like more seating tables) because we had to wait until a table left to be seated. Other than that everything was so cute and the macarons and tea were delicious!! Next time I'll have to come and try the full service english tea

Yelp
This was a lovely downtown Ann Arbor experience. Per the recommendation of my dining mate, I ordered the coconut green tea and was not disappointed. And, because you can't have a full tea experience without a scone and clotted cream, I opted for the scone sampler that featured a specialty scone and classic scone alongside clotted cream (YES), jam and lemon curd. The whole round up was delicious. I appreciate that on the weekends this space is laptop/phone free. This seems to be a trend with teahouses and the world could use more of this lately. Luckily, it was kosher during our Tuesday morning visit for us to work on our laptops for a bit while chowing down. Note that this is a great spot to experiment with new teas. The wall on the tea side of the business if filled with dozens upon dozens of canisters for customers to smell and try something new. For those with an appetite, they also offer a rotating menu of macaroons from a neighboring bakery as well as savory options like quiche and tea sandwiches. My only complaint would be that ordering on the separate sides can be somewhat wonky especially when they're busy around lunchtime.

Yelp
I love this little tea house. Their wall of tea is exquisite. I like to come here with a friend, catch up, over tea, and have a little treat to eat. They have cute tea related tools and teapots to browse through, too! Look closely and you will find the fairy house in the wall!

Yelp
I stopped by here because I was craving a macaron along the way of my travels. I think their giant macarons are what make this cafe unique from other tea shops. I wish I had taken my macaron pic with an object near it to reference its size! I also like how you can read the various tea books alongside the walls of the shop if you have time to sit down for a while. I would say this is a great cafe in which to study, but they don't open that late into the evening and there is limited seating. Overall, it's a cute daytime cafe if you want to get a little bit of work done while the sun is still up.

Yelp
Absolutely love Teahaus, Lisa is a delight! I used to come here at least once every other week for the English Quickie with a friend prior to moving back to Detroit and it always felt like a calming oasis with really, really good scones. I miss flipping through the binder of tea flavors and choosing what pot I wanted to get that day. I haven't been back since the pandemic started (pretty much confined to delivery lately) but I used their online store to send a friend a small care package and had a great experience with their delivery speed and customer service as well. The tea is always high quality and their selection is MASSIVE. I'm currently very into pumpkin chai but their roasted almond is my favorite tea ever. I have unashamedly purchased it by the half pound, not the ounce. I hear they have Tea to Go, but haven't tried it yet. It seems like they've been putting in a lot of effort to keep things as safe as possible and updating customers on any changes.

Yelp
Tea here is out of this world! Macaroons are delicious and I love all of their little treats! Looks adorable when you walk past and it's even cuter on the inside! 10/10 would definitely recommend!
