Houston’s 12 Best Bubble Tea Shops | Eater Houston

"Keep it classic at this boba tea chain with traditional flavors like honeydew, jasmine, coconut, or almond milk tea with a heaping scoop of boba. For folks who can’t decide, Tealicious also offers a split cup option, which allows boba enthusiasts to try two different flavors of tea at once for just 30 cents extra." - Amy McCarthy

Google
They have great drinks but they are somewhat overpriced, I mostly recommend the taro smoothie peach with mango smoothie with tapioca.

Bellin Tantania

Google
Very convenient area. Spacious parking lot. I got the soursop slushie with bobba and my hubby got his the lychee slushie with lychee, mango jelly and bobba. I like the decorations from the exotic of fruits. Very cute and clean store.

Sophia

Google
They got my order wrong. I ordered a Thai iced milk tea and they gave me a milk tea. My companion got a jasmine iced milk tea, yet it didn't really taste like jasmine at ALL, the milk tea I got tasted more like jasmine than itself.

Jenna DVC

Google
Staff friendly, little but cute. I tried the Thai tea milk and was very good. I will come back to try others. I recommend this place if you like bubbles teas. They chance the name, now is tea bubblers instead of tealicious.

Google
Drinks are fantastic! Really love their smoothies, lavender milk tea, and milk juices, which are packed with flavor! I saw their exotic macaron menu and got excited; I admit I was disappointed when I found out they switched to Loves' Macarons, which carries more basic flavors. They're still tasty, I just miss the exotic flavors T^T. Overall, great tea place with awesome employees--definitely recommend coming here!

Google
I've only been here once but man was it good! Got the Vietnamese ice coffee over ice with tap and it was about $3.69 for a regular. Good price compared to other places. The coffee was super strong not diluted at all. I would definitely come back!

Edwin Charly

Google
Used to be tealicous but now it’s the tea bubblers and they only have one person running the whole thing. Quality has dropped.

Andrea Orozco

Google
First time trying this tea shop and it did not disappoint! Their prices are a bit higher than other shops around but the drinks were amazing and I’ll definitely be going back.

Yelp
This is a family owned and operated company. They are always so nice The owner knows me by name. I always ask for the 25% or 50% sweet depending on what my blood sugar levels are
google avatar

Klemens T.

Yelp
Came here for the first time with my wife. We ordered the milk tea with coffee jelly and the strawberry banana smoothie. Both very delicious and the price wasn't bad. If we're in this area again, we'll definitely stop by. Staff is very friendly snd fast. There's a few tables and chairs to chill at. Large parking lot.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious teas and smoothies and even more delicious is the boba! There is only one size and you can pick the amount of sweetness. I ordered the avocado smoothie and milk tea. I used to go to this location as a teenager when they first opened about 15 years ago (and I can't remember the name) and they have been through a few owners. I have always been impressed with the boba and the same goes for this place. A solid place to go to for boba.

Harry J.

Yelp
Drinks and service are awesome. Store is very clean and fresh. Love their brown sugar milktea. Recommended
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
A little hidden but a decent place for boba tea and for a decent price. Service is quick and friendly. Drinks are a little on the sweet side but the boba has great texture. Passion fruit tea is my favorite from here.
google avatar

Zoe P.

Yelp
Taro milk tea is $5.50 and i said easy ice and sugar with Lychee Jelly. Extra $.30 for saying less ice. Lychee Jelly is $1. I am a regular at Kung Fu Tea and they charge 0.75 for toppings. My drink didn't taste right at all. First and last visit to this place for sure.
google avatar

Karina N.

Yelp
Good tea! We got there as they were about to close. I felt the urgency - I get it. The tea is good! We bought 3 and took them to go. My sister loves this place so we will be back!
google avatar

Katie D.

Yelp
Ordered a coconut milk tea. It was good. I give it a 4 but overall the place a 5 here's why. Was greeted by the older gentle and young lady. Place was beyond clean and very well kept. Cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
They make the best tea ! I absolutely love the milk tea with boba ! So yummy! It's always my #1 place to go when I want a tea! I always recommend this spot ! Me and my sisters love it here !

Moises V.

Yelp
Quick service and very friendly staff! Bubble tea was great and did not feel rushed at all!
google avatar

Charline N.

Yelp
Still has the tea flavor I remember from high school taste, not bad plus the price isn't like the average $5 boba costs now. Today was convenience, but the person taking the order (fair skin with crooked eyebrows) either has RBF or having a bad day...cause she wasn't nice. Asked her what else came as lychee flavored and she was quick to dismiss me.
google avatar

Ashley N.

Yelp
Amazing service, great flavors and tastes delicious! Can't go wrong with taro coconut with boba, Avocado, or any of their many smoothies or a slush. They took my card the other day when I only ordered two drinks with toppings. They are always so nice and good covid protocols. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I randomly stopped at Tealicious needing a refresher after being out in the heat all day. So I actually got three different drinks , wanting to explore the menu. Passion fruit iced tea - delicious , refreshing just what the dr has ordered to quench your thirst . Watermelon slushy - amazing ! And last but not least lavender milk tea - I officially lost it at that point , it was incredible, I was skeptical about it before ordering , as many lavender flavored food items taste like soap , but not in this case . I will definitely return to try other things !!!

Emily C.

Yelp
I absolutely love the milk tea with boba ! So yummy! It's always my #1 place to go when I want a tea! I always recommend this spot !

Yelp
Love this place. Wide menu selection. They have delicious drinks made with fresh fruits and fresh boba everyday. :)

Amanda E.

Yelp
I love to get Thai tea with Boba here! I've had other drinks that are good too, like passion fruit tea with egg custard. That one is super sweet though! They have a lot of seating, but nothing to keep you here like other tea houses. They don't have any games, so I usually get my drink and go. Definitely get the stamp card for buy nine drinks get one free drink, but I will say it's not really one free. I got $3 off of my purchase when my card was full. Update: my Thai tea was weak and the boba were kinda soft today. Inconsistent!
google avatar

C N.

Yelp
Awesome place to get Vietnamese coffee blended. It's the right amount of drip coffee flavor. So many places make their coffee taste either burnt or overly sweet which I don't enjoy. I'll definitely come back here and get this drink again.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
A reliable and great spot for boba. All of their smoothies are great, but avocado is the most popular for good reason. The owner has that Filipino hospitality. You can tell they're trying their best during Covid
google avatar

Iqra A.

Yelp
All I gotta say is AHHH-MAZING!!! The taste of the Thai tea is perfection !!!! And boba's are made fresh each day!! These guys are the sweetest people, each and everyone of them know how to treat a person nice and politely!
google avatar

Ryan T.

Yelp
This is close to home and it's priced fairly for each drink. I spend around $5 or less which is the average price for a milk tea or boba drink. The boba is fresh, soft, and chewy. You have alternatives if you don't like boba. I usually go for lychee jelly or grass jelly. My go to is the jasmine milk tea or honey tea. I think I've tried almost everything under teas for this place and I like it all.
google avatar

Yelp
Our hospital staff take turns buying the floor assorted Teas from this spot. Never disappoints. Nice refreshment for the Nurses.
google avatar

Edelyn C.

Yelp
It's as good as any other tapioca place but the reason I would rate them so low is because they only accept cash, which can be inconvenient for a lot of us nowadays.
google avatar

Steven T.

Yelp
This boba shop is very cheap. I personally enjoy buying a durian smoothie here because it's cheaper and is available here than any other boba shops.

Yelp
This was the only place for bubble tea that I could find on the map in this area so we decided to check it out. The place was a little tricky to find since it was at the end of a cluster of Asian businesses/shops (pho shops, hong kong grocery store, etc). Lollicup was cute and peaceful, no loud music and the blender wasnt going off every second and when it did it wasnt as loud as I am use to in other teahouses. There were a few tables and couches inside that were nice. It smelled and looked clean. There was always a worker behind the counter and the prices for the different teas were a lot cheaper than I was use to seeing! A lot were around $2.50 where I'm use to them being at least $3.25 or so. I got a peanut milkshake with coffee jelly and tapioca. The tapioca was great, not too hard and not too soft (I've gotten mushy tapioca before at other places, bleehhh.) The peanut shake did have a slight aftertaste though, but maybe its due to a different peanut mix? My friends got a watermelon slush and an oreo milkshake which they both enjoyed. The milkshakes seemed a bit thin, but not bad, although I prefer them to be a thicker consistency. All in all I would say that its your average bubble tea place. Not the greatest, but no where near the worst. Would be back! (as stated in other reviews, bring cash!)
google avatar

Dew H.

Yelp
It's a ok bubble tea. I would give more star because staff is not so friendly. The girl behind the counter acting like she doesn't want to be there.
google avatar

Nam N.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the jasmine tea, coffee milk tea and a Vietnamese coffee done Saigon style with some regular milk to dilute it. Great customer service.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
The girl at the counter is so sweet!! I always get the taro slushies for my sister and I. They're really yummy. We're a little addicted. Yes prices have gone up a little but with covid going on no one can blame them. Nevertheless they're still cheaper than most mainstream chains. Support local businesses yall!!
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
Loooooove them! I get good service. They r very understanding when i always order a large split because if my toddlers.
google avatar

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Very delicious! It is really cheap and satisfying. My sister ordered a passion fruit slushy and I ordered a Thai Iced Tea w/ boba. I think this is my new favorite spot. Support your local family owned businesses, both parties will feel great afterwards. They are also hiring.
google avatar

Kayla M.

Yelp
I always get Boba here when I'm in the area. Sometimes they make their drink too sweet but the last couple of times, they made it perfect. The boba balls were nice and soft and the Jasmine milk tea that I always get was sweet but not too sweet like the other times. Wish they were closer to where I live, I would go everyday.
google avatar

Lee V.

Yelp
My first time here with my family and we all LOVED it! We ordered the lychee and passion fruit real fruit slush, which were super fruity and delicious with real fruit pulp. We ordered the strawberry and vanilla smoothies with boba, which were both delicious as well. But the real winner was the iced royal milk tea! That was the most delicious drink EVER!!!!!!!!!! Enough said! **They do, by the way, have the best boba pearls I've ever tasted! Maybe it was just our lucky day? Perfectly cooked, chewy, no bite to it, just dang perfect! It went so well with their already delicious drinks!
google avatar

Chili B.

Yelp
Love coming to this place, especially there other places but this place is just right to drive far for. Haven't been here for a long time, always been delicious each pull by. But yesterday I decided to stop by, whoever work yesterday, one she made it super sweet, second my sister found a hair inside drinking from it. Glad I finish mine, I wanna to surprise her after she been asking me to get her the winter melon, drop by with a disappointed in my sister face. 3rd don't you all use gloves for food handle, that service girl look sick. It might take me a wild to go back! But y'all need to be careful n work on food handle!
google avatar

Jeannie M.

Yelp
Love their Milk Tea and slushies. Being going here for years now and it still the best boba milk tea up north. Their boba is always soft and chewy.
google avatar

S C.

Yelp
Decently priced boba, just wish their online menu reflected their in store menu as the online menu doesn't list the different types of add-ons; they also don't have bursting "popping boba" with fruit juice. Which is strange because even the tutti frutti yogurt shop has it... but I've tried various mixtures of literally every type of flavor on the menu and haven't been let down by any thus far. Taro milk tea is pretty much what I order regularly now, and kids will probably enjoy the cute little chibi art drink covers.

Yelp
For a place that has been open for 6 years, the decor was way past its prime. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Also, Lollicup was very hard to find. For reference, it's next to Hong Kong Market and behind Pho Danh. The milk tea is good here. Comparable to Joi's or Taphouse. I can't vouch for any other drinks, but a lot of people were ordering their fruit slushes so I'm guessing they're good/popular. The boba itself was chewy and sweet; it reminded me of mochi. I have to dock off another star for the blasé service. The girl making our drink had the unhappiest face and looked like she just woke up. She had a sour look while handing people their drinks, which kind of irritated me. I don't understand workers like that. If you are having a bad day, fine. But don't be so rude to people who are contributing to your paycheck. Anyway, I didn't really appreciate her bitchiness, so....doubt I'll go back. We'll see.

Yelp
I knew it wasn't a good sign when I walked in and saw my dad and his friend shaking their heads. I didn't think anything of it and went to put in my order for a Thai tea w/ egg pudding. (Good stuff btw). Anyways, the lady taking my order was like.. What do you want? She didn't look at me and when she did.. it was a mean look for not being specific about what pudding I wanted. Boy did I wanted to punch her in the face. I walked back over to my dad's friend and he just blurted out, "STUPID GIRL! STUPID BUSINESS!" I chuckled a bit... now I know why they were shaking their head. The service here is hit or miss. I know I didn't come here for about a year or so because the first girl who made my drink was rude. Unfortunately, this is the only decent bubble tea place in the north side of town... so not really any other option. All I have to say is... this place could draw in a lot more customers if they change up the attitude and service. People would happily come back and bring their friends. No one wants to visit a business if they have to deal with a bitch nasty face of an attitude each time.
google avatar

Christine M.

Yelp
Living up here on the NW side of town, there aren't too many places you can go for some milk tea. Many of the places have closed down...oh so sad I must say, due to location, profits, rent or what not. So Lollicup is one of the few that are left standing. There's a great variety to choose from. The traditional milk tea is pretty good and their tapioca is not too chewy and not too soggy. It's hard to say that they're perfect but they get pretty close. Although every batch is different so really it just depends on the day you go. I like their pudding milk tea without tapioca because it already comes with bits of pudding in the drink so why clog it up with more stuff unless you like it that way. The only downfall with this place is that it is cash only so that means stop by the ATM on your way unless you want to pay the fee at the bank in the same shopping center.
google avatar

Rex C.

Yelp
I give them a 3. They would have gotten a 4 or 5 but I noticed some ting that turned me off big time! I got large watermelon juice and for one it wasn't filled up all the way. For 2 this is the main reason they get a 3. I saw them putting in this clear liquid and I asked what's that. They said sugar for flavor.. are you fucking kidding me? Defeats the whole Damm purpose of drinking a healthy clean drink! They should ask the client I'd they want that nasty ass. Sugar/corn syrup..
google avatar

Andrea N.

Yelp
There's not many tapioca places up north. Coming here is for desperate boba craves. Yeah, I have that. I don't really like it, but it's decent comparing that there are not many other places that have it. The cashier seemed annoyed, so I just wanted to get out of her way. I asked the difference between royal milk tea and milk tea, and she said she didn't like the royal as much. So tip: just stick to milk teas. The boba was smushy and tasted a little overdone. I had the jasmine milk tea and it was really bland, I assume they use the powder? I think they added way too much water. I guess the craving is... sorta satisfied?
google avatar

Surruh E.

Yelp
- Only accepts cash - only open until 6? Really? Most of us commute out of North Houston for work/school. I love boba but they just lost my business because I never get home before 7pm. - No wifi. Nah.
google avatar

Tiffany N.

Yelp
Boy, I MUST agree with our fellow yelpers....the service was bad. I barely see an actual smile on their face. This time was no exception. NO SMILING. So, this 4 stars only give to their drinks and so not for the service. We ordered Durian Avocado (for those never have durian before or don't like it, DON'T attempt to try it since it has very strong smell), Coconut Milk Tea (boy, it was good), and Coconut Vanilla Snow. They were good. They had artificial flavor, but they're good. My overall favorite is Coconut Milk Tea. MORE SMILING IS A MUST!!!!
google avatar

Jessica T.

Yelp
Biggest perk is that it is nearby. But definitely nothing outstanding.
google avatar

Sherrie S.

Yelp
This is the very first time we were trying the boba teas that are all the craze now. So glad we chose here for the first time, they were soooo good. We got the coconut milk tea we loved it & we are so glad we did. We went somewhere else to get our second ones (because Tealicious was too far ) & they were weak & the tapioca was old & falling apart. We could not finish them so as soon as we can we are getting back to tealicious.
google avatar

Hibari I.

Yelp
I may have put 4 stars, but 3 1/2 stars may be a more appropriate rating. They have a large variety of drinks at reasonable prices, however there isn't much consistency in the quality. There have been times where the drinks are satisfying, however there have been other times when the proportions of ingredients are haphazardly mixed. I would give this place 4 stars when the owner is making the drink and 3 stars when anybody else is doing it
google avatar

Mai S.

Yelp
i never go out of my way to come here. the service and the drinks are just ok, plus they don't have almond pudding to add to my jasmine green tea! but the drinks are decent. not my go to place but if I'm in the area, ill stop by... but they do have a punch card (buy 10 get 1 free), which you must remember because they don't combine cards! lame!
google avatar

Lucy T.

Yelp
Very cheap and inexpensive drinks compared to kung fu tea. Ordered a lychee slush, watermelon slush, and Vietnamese coffee for my family which were all so good. The slushees tasted exactly like how you would eat the fruit, they also used fresh fruit rather than just using syrup. The Vietnamese coffee was also very strong and sweet like how my family likes it. Was very impressed for my first time here!!
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
I go here because it's so close and there are bearly any boba places near north Houston. The drinks are pretty decent in my opinion and parking is so-so. The service is so-so like after they make my drink they'll be like "thank you" but that didn't happen until recently(they probably read the yelp reviews...jk) but over the years their service has improved. I will be coming back because of the convenience. Oh yeah another thing their decor is kind of outdated... But whatever!
google avatar

Shelly W.

Yelp
Always great! I wish I could try them all but I love the plain milk tea with pearls. I don't know what gave me the idea to try milk pudding but I did and I freaking love the light sweet creaminess of it. I always get it now. Beware though it gets really busy in the afternoon on weekends. Sometimes you wait a minute, sometimes you wait ten.
google avatar

Isabel C.

Yelp
I'm not a big fan of tapioca or jellies. I know, It's just unnatural, but I love milk tea! I grabbed a chai milk tea here (because it sounded pretty interesting) and it was good! I like it. It reminded me of the chai tea that I get from Starbucks. I've had the regular milk tea and it's pretty decent as well. The price is alright and the drinks are alright, but I wouldn't rave about this place. I think I was way too spoiled by Momoko in Austin. That's my gold standard for milk tea and macha green tea in the States.
