Yelp
I recently went with some friends for the first time. Below I have posted their review and the restaurants response from Google. Honestly, I wasn't even going to write a review because they did say they were under new management so I wanted to give them a break. But when you answer a not terrible review with lies and terrible statements, well, then I cannot stay silent. In addition to the issues my friend posted about I will add some of my own observations. I was the only one who had the soup. Lentil. It was not bad, but extremely watery. And the statement about all the food being made from scratch, well...somehow I have my doubts. I have gotten a turkey sandwich from Tin Muffin Cafe (TOTALLY RECOMMEND!) and the turkey was freshly roasted and off the bone. The turkey on my sandwich here was as if it was deli turkey from a local grocery store. Did not taste fresh or homemade. We went for lunch, we did NOT go for high tea, and we DID NOT have a reservation so their accusation of us canceling it is completely false and a desperate attempt for them to save face. There was only one table occupied besides ours the entire time we were there. Overall we hadn't planned on coming back and certainly weren't looking for a free meal! I'd turn it down even if they had offered. Want a good breakfast/brunch/lunch...there are many places that are fantastic. This is not one of them.
Your untruthful reply prompted me to add this. We were there when stated. We never cancelled our reservation, which was not under my name so how could you say that it was cancelled since you don't know who I am? We didn't have the high tea as I stated, we ordered from your lunch menu, so that's what I reviewed. We returned the chicken salad because the texture was unpleasant. We had to ask you to take it off the bill. I was very honest with my review and for you to imply that I lied is not good business. Here is the reality. The food was meh and we will not be returning. If you had simply thanked me for the honest review (I mentioned you just bought the restaurant and it should get better) and didn't lie about me not being there, I would have thought...good for them. But I won't lie in the rating to please you. You can do better. Good luck.
Keeping in mind that this is a new owner and probably a new staff, there are a few things they can do better. It's a teahouse and we had to ask for a teaspoon to go with our tea. The food was ok. The tea was good. We ordered off of the lunch menu which was overpriced. There was hardly any salad on the plate, although the dressing was good. Maybe the high tea is better. The decor was amazing, but the chairs were really uncomfortable. Hopefully, it will get better with time.

Alice's Teapot Cafe (Owner)

While we are newly opened, we've worked with heart and hustle to create a space where harmony, magic, and fantasy come to life. Everything at Alice's Teapot Café is made from scratch with care--from our delicate macarons and hand-pressed scones to our Dubai Tarts filled with house-made pistachio cream and our lemon curd tarts topped with caramelized blueberries. Even our soups and salads, slow-cooked with fresh ingredients, have already earned a reputation for being among the best.
That's why your comment and rating left us scratching our heads--especially since our records show your reservation was canceled. We're also well aware that, in today's landscape, some negative reviews stem from competitors or those hoping for a free meal by posting false critiques and waiting for a "come back on us" offer.
At the moment, we're fortunate to be delightfully busy and deeply supported by a community that values kindness and understands that perfection lies in imperfection. We proudly reserve our space for guests who bring good energy and appreciatio
