Where to Eat in South Loop

"A nostalgic destination for cakes, muffins, and a plethora of baked goods, this Black-owned indie bakery is a tribute to chef and owner Veranda Runsewe’s mother. A Hyde Park native, Runsewe supplements her food menu with more than 40 loose-leaf teas from Milwaukee-based Rishi Tea." - Ashok Selvam, Naomi Waxman

15 Drive-Thrus, Walk-up Windows, and Limited Contact Restaurants With Great Meals in Chicago

"TeaPotBrew Bakery, a family-owned cake haven in South Loop, has recalibrated its space to keep workers and patrons protected during the pandemic. Staff use dividers and floor stickers to show people where to form a socially-distanced line inside the bakery, but if numbers become too great, they immediately switch over to a numbered buzzer system with devices that alert waiting customers that their orders are ready. There are also two retractable garage doors that workers open when the weather allows it." - Naomi Waxman, Ashok Selvam

TeaPotBrew Bakery in South Loop brings Chicago joy during the pandemic - Eater Chicago

"The cakes at TeaPotBrew Bakery, which opened in 2018 at 1802 S. Wabash Avenue, are filled with nostalgia and family memories. Runsewe grew up cooking and baking alongside her mother in Hyde Park. She remembers asking for an Easy-Bake Oven one Christmas, but her mom did her one better, allowing her access to the real oven." - Angela Burke

Google
A gem. Found by accident. We encountered excellent service from owners and staff who seem to be passionate about their offering. They took the time to educate us on all they offer once they discovered we were first time customers. My wife loved the tea. I had the banana bread which was excellent. I also tried their turkey sandwich. Excellent. We plan on going back as there are more to explore from their menu. You are able to purchase teas to take home.

Google
Please do not think you are just coming In here to grab you some lipton tea or your gas station coffee. Selections upon selections...I love the fact that she has such a variety of decaffeinated teas. Customer service was great as soon as I stepped in. Nothing big but just cozy with a few seats. Visiting from another state and finding this gem was awesome. I wish you all the best in the future.

Google
This place is phenomenal!! The owner is not only very kind and incredible at making drinks, but really knows what recommendations to give based on preferences. I told him what I was in the mood for and he recommended the hibiscus tea with pomegranate and mango, it is divine! He also recommended their best selling coffee cake as well as their pumpkin spice w/ cream cheese muffin, both are out of this world!! They are so flavorful and moist, honestly haven’t had baked goods that hit like this in a while!! Highly recommend this place and will be stopping by again soon!!

Google
Love this place! Super friendly staff with great iced tea! Their chocolate chip banana bread was yummy too. We went on a sunny spring morning. They had their doors opened up to the outside and we enjoyed the sunlight and cool air. Great vibe!

Google
Cute little tea shop and bakery with garage style doors. Indoor and possibly outdoor seating available (it was raining when I stopped in). They had many tea and flavoring options. I got a mint green tea with rose flavoring and it was absolutely wonderful. Their mini banana bread loaf was great too, so fresh. Highly recommend coming here!

Google
I absolutely love tea! I had been looking for a cute, aesthetic bakery place that had tea and/or coffee or something in Chicago that I could go to with my dad when Google recommended this place for me. I went there on Mother's Day and got a peach tea and some macarons and absolutely loved it! My dad got a soup of some sort and also thought it was great. They were so good, in fact, that I ended up bring like 6 of them home for a few of my friends. I got back in the car to leave and realized that there wasn't going to be enough for everyone. I went back in and got more and everything was good. We drove around Chicago for a little longer looking for cool things and I ended up going back AGAIN to get even more! The staff were so nice about it and one of them even made a joke about me thinking they were so good I came back twice! The entire place literally made my entire weekend better and I'm so glad I found it. I will definitely be going back! Side note: I came all the way from in northwest Indiana just to try this place and and I was not at all disappointed!

Google
I stopped by here on a Wednesday, mid-day. I was greeted when I walked in and immediately felt comfortable. The owner was spectacular and so kind. I got the vanilla bean iced tea and the turkey sausage egg and cheese and everything was AMAZING. the tea is not just your normal Lipton tea. Its a million times better. Another plus is that they're black woman owned. 10/10 highly recommend and will be back!

Marc-André R.

Google
I really wished so more after reading the reviews. Still giving low 4 stars because I feel it was just not a good day and these are easy fixes. Here are my recommendations to make it way better. I did enjoy the friendlyness of the barista. I would clean up the place a little, I feel that the big freezer in the middle of the place distrupts the decor. I would not run a violent movie on the TV, i was expecting lounge music or the news at least. I was dinning in so i was expecting to have reusable dishes instead of plastics trowable containers and cardboard cup for my tea. I would not leave the cinamon buns in the pan, for mine had a metalic taste. Also the barista had to open the doors to let the smoke out at one point. So i was smoked in and freezing. Just a bad day I guess. I'll give them a second chance if I ever return to that area.

Yelp
I ordered an ice mocha. The woman who took my order was very nice, very personable, very professional, and very quick with my order. The place is nice and cozy with great ambience great energy. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
I finally made it in to check this place out and it did not disappoint. All of the food menu items from the breakfast sandwiches to the macarons are freshly made. For my beverage I got a iced chai, which was really good. Drinks come in two sizes for the ice drinks. The croissant breakfast sandwich was also good as I had that for my breakfast and the quiche for a late lunch. I went with the chicken over the tomato and spinach, but both looked good. The staff was very friendly and informative. I definitely will be back again.

Yelp
Tea Pot Brew Bakery is located in the South Loop and is a black-owned business that I will support any time I'm in the neighborhood. True to its name, there are lots of different teas to try but also some coffee drinks too. The pastries are made in-house, and are delicious. The coffee cake was the right mix of sweet, crumbly, and soft. I also had a croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage and egg nicely toasted. The croissant was buttery goodness. The owners and staff are friendly here, and they know your name if you're a regular. This is the kind of place that warms your heart and pleases your tastebuds.

Yelp
Okay, how have I not been here sooner?! I love Tea Pot Brew Bakery! My husband and I were running errands in the south loop area and were en route to find a spot for coffee (at our typical large chain coffee shop) but then spotted Tea Pot Brew on the way and literally pulled off to the side of the road to make a pitstop. While driving by, I looked out the window and said, "oh look, that's such a cute little spot!" My husband replied, "Let's try it?" and no more than 5 minutes later we were parked, inside, and browsing their menu. I like to think we're spontaneous :) Their customer service is fantastic and SO kind. Everyone that worked there (I believe three people in a rainy Saturday morning) greeted us with a warm hello. I absolutely loved how all of their windows were open and they have those large openings that used to be garage doors that were converted into windows. It was slightly rainy but there was fresh air sweeping into the cafe and it was the loveliest moment patrons can experience while ordering their coffees and mingling with folks (and dogs) in the neighborhood. It was cool and the drizzle/rain was refreshing, but light enough to literally open everything for the breeze. I don't know why but I absolutely loved that. I love a seasonal iced latté (pumpkin spice) and my husband got a slice of their bread, I think it was a fall spice cake but it escapes me now and I couldn't snap a pic because it was eaten so quickly. The person behind the counter checked in to ask how the bread was and jokingly asked, "do you want another?" His family member (he might've mentioned sister or cousin) was far back behind the counter working the bakery/oven. All the desserts and baked goods are made in-house, and they even take custom orders for cakes etc. I love this little bakery cafe and can't wait to go back. It was the perfect place to grab coffee and a pastry, and there are plenty of outdoor seating areas to linger. I'm a fan! I'm on IG: @gratuitousgourmande

Jimm C.

Yelp
ordered two coffees and a sandwich and they messed the entire order and it took 20 min. I would understand if it was busy, but they admitted they forgot what I had ordered
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Wow...saw the good reviews and were excited to try it, but in practice it was not a good start of the day to get yelled at to order within 5 seconds of looking at the menu. Once we chose something to order (within 10 seconds), we were told they didn't have the items! Needless to say we just left. If you want "rude", this is your place!
google avatar

Taylor M.

Yelp
Every-time I come here the service is stellar, coffee is great, and food is on par. I cant ask for much more! Love their outdoor seating area.

C C.

Yelp
This was my second time going in years. The first time my partner and I had an unpleasant experience, the family that runs it is rude. Today, I tried again and had an awful experience. The woman was so rude. I felt like crying and ashamed for how she was raising her voice at me in front of others. I was even afraid to ask her about the pastry I was looking for. And of course, she ended up being mean, rude, condescending. Very disappointing.

LoriLinell H.

Yelp
Great coffee, pastries and service. They remember your order! I'm a regular. V's pound cake is the best!
google avatar

Angela F.

Yelp
I'm not a regular here but try to stop in a couple of times a month. I usually go for an iced latte and a baked treat. The coffee is fine, but their baked goods are where they shine. They're delicious! I like to stop by on weekends when my pup and I are out for our long walks. It's easy to hook him up and keep an eye on him since their garage door is usually open. My last visit was really disappointing. It was one of the really hot July days. After I ordered and was waiting for my drink, I asked for a cup of water. I was told by the young man behind the counter that they are not allowed to give water to customers. I thought this was strange since they used to have a cooler with cups in the corner. After a couple of minutes, the guy asked me if that was my dog. I said yes and said that's who the water was for. I was beyond annoyed and just wanted to get my order and get out of there. I think it was really bad customer service, especially in a neighborhood where there are lots of dogs and residents who like to support small businesses. I look forward to more visits to Spoke & Bird and Sip & Savor where dogs are welcome.

Yelp
Came here on a whim looking to kill some time. I got a peach tea, and my husband got a matcha. Was pretty quick, obviously we had to wait for my tea to brew. They don't have much indoor seating right now (just 2 seats at the side bar), but if it were nice out they do have outdoor seating. Was a little disappointed we couldn't sit inside for a little while sipping our teas - they still have no dining in policy due to Covid. As long as you know that in advance, you should be good!

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing! They use all fresh ingredients and real butter. The berry coffee cake is delicious as are the cookies!
google avatar

Josalyn M.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop! It black own and located in a convenient spot in the South Loop. I got the rose latte with soy milk which was delicious . I ordered two apple scones to go with a slice of citrus pound cake for the hubby. It safe to say this coffee shop is now one of my go to for my latte fix. SYOY

Yelp
Love this Black Owned Business!! I'm so happy the South Loop has this spot. The building is so cute and recently they've added seating outside the front of the store. This is a perfect spot to grab a quick drink to go as they are very quick! I've had their lavender lemonade, macarons, chai latte, and iced coffee and everything is always great.
google avatar

Yelp
Best blueberry muffins EVER!!! You must try. In fact all of their baked goods are amazing. Great customer service. I'm a fan.

Yelp
Very good local coffee shop! I pass by TeaPotBrew Bakery every morning on the way to dropping off my daughter at school. Always a great experience with excellent coffee and bagels. Very accessible if you're on a bike or using a big stroller. Witnessed a very strange customer who was very argumentative and made completely baseless racial accusations (wish I took a video because it was truly wild). The staff were calm and professional the entire time and handled it much better than I would have. I will definitely be coming by more often.
google avatar

Marie F.

Yelp
Tea Pot Brew is close to my job and I drive past them daily. So I decided to stop in and I'm glad I did. Bonus they are black owned. When I walked in I was greeted. I had never been there before so I did need a few extra minutes to look at the menu. I ordered a lemonade, Earl Grey Tea and a Chocolate chip cookie. I love Chocolate chip cookies and this one did not disappoint. It had the right amount of Chocolate chips and just delicious. The lemonade was okay not my favorite as I like the perfect balance of sweet and tart and this one was just tart. The Early Grey Tea was something new for me so I wasn't sure how to make it how I like. I did figure it out afterwards. Price point was average for a good coffee shop. I will be stopping by again.
google avatar

Lynette H.

Yelp
I love it here! I've dropped in a couple times now and each time has been great. The staff is always so nice and welcoming. I've tried their iced teas, their vanilla bean latte and a pastry. I can't remember the name of the pastry I got but it was like a raspberry coffee cake pie thing. Anyways, whatever you order I don't think you can go wrong here ever!

Yelp
After a warm day scouting out various tourist venues we decided to visit Navy Pier. We strolled along the pier for about an hour and by then we were hot and thirsty. We had passed this business as we checked out the scene. I remembered a sign with a picture of an iced latte so we headed that way. There was a single person at the business who I later learned to be the owner. I ordered my latte and a Pellegrino for my wife. The service was fast and friendly and ahhh ... the iced latte was oh so satisfying. If you're ever at the pier, check this business out where coffees, teas, fresh baked goods, ice cream or frozen yogurt are the fare of the day. You'll be satisfied as well.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous quiche! Great coffee! Wide variety of macaroons. Staff are super friendly.
google avatar

Rose S.

Yelp
Fantastic! Tired of the chain coffee shops and saw this little building. Loved the people, offerings, coffee and the cinnamon rolls....Yumm-o! This is a must try if you in Chicago!

Tony ..

Yelp
Walked in the first time today and everyone there was warm and welcoming! After talking with one of the workers, I was convinced to get the mixed berry coffee cake, which to my delight was one of the best pastries I've ever had. Would definitely recommend this incredible black owned business to family and friends!
google avatar

Jai P.

Yelp
The place had a nice vibe to it. The decor was nice and the person behind the register was kind. I tried their pumpkin muffins and macarons. As a food blogger, I have tried a lot of muffins and this one is on my list of favorites. It was moist, warm, and flavorful. I could taste all the spices and I love the drops of cream cheese on the top and inside. To make it better I would suggest flavoring the cream cheese with vanilla extract or even some plain sugar just to give it more of a taste. Now, for the macaroons, they were a plain NO for me. They looked like they were sitting in the case for days and were dried out. It lacked flavor and was not worth $2.50. my own macaroons could beat theirs...but other than that. I will definitely be back for their muffins.
google avatar

Morgan S.

Yelp
I'm not normally big on quiche, but so glad I tried it here! Seriously the best I've ever had, it was delicious. Their coconut macarons are fantastic too. Excited to try more

Yelp
Man, man, man I can't believe I never been to this place being such a desert whore! Walked in one Sunday looking for soup, but stumbled upon the kingdom of desserts and of course my favorite....HOMEMADE BROWNIES!!!!! The brownies and sour cream pound cake are so freaking good! I love the service as I got to know the owner by driving by and yelling out the car to make sure the brownies were done I love small businesses that make products from scratch with love!!!!
google avatar

Ojus P.

Yelp
Love this place! They've provided to me a pattern of taking standard desserts and adding an original, delicious twist. Brownie - 5/5. Perfect brownie, Moist inside, crumbly outside. Special. Coffee Cake - 4.5/5. Blend of textures really well executed. Hard base crust that gets softer with a buttery, sugar lightness. Surprising fruit layer that adds a great change-up. There is still the classic top crumble but the flavor is much less dependent on that than a classic coffee cake. Rice crispy treat - 3/5. Solid and quite well done but I wouldn't get it again.
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
The coffee & tea are good. But honestly this place is all about the employees. They are friendly, knowledgeable and love their jobs. The vibe of this place is a combo of the open air environment and this phenom staff. Bonus...they have some syrup flavors you can't get everywhere.
google avatar

Len L.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to drop by to see for myself what everyone has been yelping about and glad I did. I was able to grab a couple of sweets such as the blueberry muffin and mixed-berry crumb cake. The staff was very friendly and served me with my treats. The cakes were very fresh and delicious. I will have to try the coffee next time. I would definitely come back for more.
google avatar

Kwality T.

Yelp
First I want to say it is a very laid back environment. If you need a peace of mind and want to leave Chicago for a moment I recommend this place. All of the pastries are freshly made, the staff is very friendly. The place feels really homey and like your somewhere else. The atmosphere is modern with a twist or artsy. The Raspberry Green Tea is amazing in flavor/ taste. Very peaceful place. Come here and get peace, lastly but not least the company is Black owned. Please support any and every Black Business to help build more like them. It was a pleasure and you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is super adorable. They have great selections snd the service is very accommodating. My good friend bought me a bday voucher because we LOVE SUPPORTING BLACK BUSINESSES. I ordered what they suggested and it was really refreshing. It was a cold green tea I believe. I also got a rice Krispy snack blueberry muffin and a puppucino which my dog figured out if I drink he drinks too. Yes I would patronize again! Thanks guys!
google avatar

Yelp
Oh how I love Tea Pot Brew Bakery!!! This adorable business offers everything you need from a small neighborhood business! The small spot is set up in a spacious way. Even now, with COVID, the garage door is open and there is a one way flow. Windows at one end allow sunshine to warm the room. The back outdoor area normally has cute seating when our Chicago weather cooperates. The sweet owners welcome you in. I feel like I'm in their home. They know and remember their customers and create an atmosphere of love and bonding. They truly appreciate your business and I appreciate their creations made with love. I stopped in for a coffee and decided to also try their cute little Veggie Quiche. I was so excited to try it that I forgot to take a photo. Trust me - it was so beautiful and tasted DELICIOUS!! I could eat their quiche everyday. For all South Loopers - you are lucky to have the gem in your neighborhood. For everyone else - it's easy to get to and has tons of parking. So get yourself over there. You can thank me later!

Yelp
This tiny garage doored-coffee-shop next to a Goodyear Tire Place sorta hides in plain site--opened winter 2019 but they are gonna get hotter this summer. Baked-goods in house and big new outdoor seating will make this a new favorite. Quality of this place exceeds expectations. Local owners are working the counter and very friendly. It has a high variety of loose teas, but my black drip coffee was balanced and strong. But here's the thing that sets it apart: they bake all their own stuff in-house. Every day. In small batches. And it's damn good. Oatmeal cookie came warmed up without asking! And they donate baked leftovers to the neighborhood homeless shelter. Little touches really make it. Well designed for small space--blue and gold accents. I sat "for here" - and got a warmed mini towel! (wow-unexpected). With some parking spots in back (south loop--wat!)--and right next to a major bike lane from south up to the loop, this is a great place to grab-to-go. If you're staying--indoor seating is limited (6-12 seats), but this place is planning on expanding sidewalk and outdoor deck seating for summertime. Can't wait. The owners rehabbed an old building that was sitting empty for 15 years, and it's hard to imagine better new unpretentious South Loop stop. (Honestly, this place might give the overpriced Spoke & Bird down the street a run for its money). Glad it's here!

Yelp
Stopped by on a quiet Friday morning to grab a fully customizable cup of tea. Their tea selection and added flavors is impressively comprehensive, making sure there's a cup of tea for everyone. Co-owner Yomi is incredibly friendly and helpful in explaining the drinks, pastries, macarons, cupcakes and other desserts. You can either check out their Instagram or ask for the planned tea parties, live music or activities to be held here. Free parking is available on 18th St. Just look for the small entry on the west side farther away from Goodyear. The cafe has two roll up garage doors that open up in warmer weather.

Yelp
Some of the worst customer service I've ever seen at an food establishment. They act as if they are doing you a favor by buying food from them. I'm really surprised this place is still open to be honest. Usually bad news travels fast..apparently not fast enough in this case I've been to this place several times in the past 2 years and even took a break from them cause we noticed they were more being closed than open for a while. Our initial thought was maybe they were reconstructing or revamping after receiving a string of bad reviews. But after a revisit almost a year later we they are still up to old habits. Poor temperament, harsh attitudes towards customers, and treating customers as if they are disposable. News flash to management: customers make your business! Respect customers make them feel wanted and appreciated. They constantly fail to do this. Never again.

Yelp
One of my third grade students that lives in the area actually told me about this spot and said she had a great time with her mom and that I should try it! A couple months later, I finally did! They have a great variety of teas and you can add an additional flavor to it too if you'd like. I got the hibiscus berry, which didn't have any caffeine (just what I was looking for). I also ordered the Turkey Sandwich, which was super tasty! Early in the morning, it's pretty quiet but as the day passes SO many people came in and out, with that being said it got a lot noisier. On the right hand side there are a couple of high top seats and on the left hand side there are about four tables. A lot of people came in to grab coffee and go, others brought their kids to sit for a while. The staff was super accommodating with those families and were kind to the kids. They even set out a few samples of different teas and cookies! I really enjoyed my experience here, but I will say it was pricier than I'd like. Would I return? Definitely. However probably not super often. I do hope to come back to try the macarons.

Yelp
*As an update: The owner responded and did not recognize the harsh tones of the staff, only the need to protect themselves as a business. Disappointing.* After months, we WON'T be back. Half of the staff were rude and unprofessional... Assuming that their customers were trying to get over on them. Here's the backstory: My partner and I went to the Tea Pot Brew Bakery last Saturday morning, like we have been doing every weekend for months now. We placed our order and sat outside to wait for it. After about 10 mins, I checked back at the front and the larger male cashier told me my drinks were ready-- he smiled and joked like all was well. I took the three drinks, went back to the patio, and saw that they were the wrong drinks ebtirely. A young lady with a short haircut noticed there was a problem and walked back in with us. I was then met with-- "Why did you pick up three drinks if there were only two of you?!" from a younger lady worker. I said I didn't know what my partner ordered, I just took what was handed to me. We then get our correct drinks. Okay, she popped off at me, but I let it roll and gave the benefit of the doubt. Then, our pastries were ready-- now, this place has good pastries, so between us we ordered 5 different ones. I take the bag, step away, and check the order. Only four pastries are in the bag and the receipt says five. I go back up to the counter and say we're missing a scone. "Check their bag!" the larger male employee said. Another male employee (Alex, maybe) said it's okay and handed the scone to me. The larger cashier again said, "Check their bag, man!" Look, I had the bag and receipt ready for them to check, but the fact that he hollered TWICE to make sure we weren't trying to get something for free when we've been coming there for months spending $30-$45 a trip every Saturday is ridiculous. I might expect this type of treatment from some establishments, but I do not come to a Black-owned business to be disrespected or treated like a thief. With that, I won't be back. Which I hate to say, since I am an avid supporter of local businesses. If you decide to go, do so at your own risk, always order a large (tiny sizes), and be ready for someone to treat you unprofessionally as well.

Yelp
We ordered my son's graduation cake from Teapotbrew Bakery and Cafe after having it recommended by friends. I am still dreaming about this cake. Worth every penny. If Veranda, the owner and baker, was on the Great British Bake-off, the judges would be commenting on how perfect the sponge is. In addition, the atmosphere and staff are so welcoming. They took the time to get to know us and congratulated our son and welcomed us to the neighborhood. I will be back for the quiche, macaroons, gelato, and tea!

KJ E.

Yelp
This place is a gem! The tea I had was perfect. Didn't need any sweeteners or anything! For you caffeine fiends, don't worry they have coffee too. Also, the baked goods are nothing short of divine. Truly delicious. I'm only sad they're not open every day!
google avatar

Yelp
This place literally just opened for business today. Small place and they only have a couple of seats inside although I can see that they have a nice patio outside probably for spring and summer. This place focuses on tea (as you can expect from the name!) but not to worry, they do have some coffee for coffee people! So don't feel left out, coffee lovers! I tried the tumeric mango tea. It was so good and perfect for my upset stomach. My mom got a white rose tea and she said it was good. So, yay! We also got their spiced cake! Now, this is one hell of a good cake. It was the perfect balance of sweet with a touch of cream cheese on the top. So good that i finish mine in two bites! Overall, will definitely go back here since its a hop and a skip jump from where I work. Congratulations, teapotbrew! And welcome to the south loop!

Yelp
It's got a really good vibe and the baking is fantastic. I'm eager to try other things at this location. I visited when it's cold so although they have some outdoor seating I just took my drink to go as did many regulars who the owners knew on site or by name.

Yelp
Poor service. Bakery items are good. Coffee and tea are ok. I love the overall concept of this place. I just wish the service was better.

Yelp
This lovely bakery is a few blocks away and my go-to for a quick treat. I've only eaten their banana bread because I really like banana bread and theirs is very good. But I promise to branch out at some point lol. The people who work here are always friendly and positive and I'm happy to patronize it.

Yelp
Update: the owners response itself speaks for their bad customer service. She suggests that their service will be subpar unless every customer counts their macarons and complain about it for them to not cheat on the customer. Oh yeah if we get caught we might not cheat and give you the right order.

Yelp
This place is just so cute! I have walked past it a millions times and finally decided to stop by, and I was very pleased. This service was great, and the owners are very friendly. They have soooo many flavors of lattes to choice from. I finally decided on the Tiramisu Latte which was delicious. I got a chocolate chip cookie and a macaroon to go with my coffee. I typically don't even like macaroon because I normally find them too sweet, but this one was just right. They pound cake was sold out when I went, but I will for sure go back and try it.

Yelp
Stopped in on a whim when we were at our dog's vet, and wow, what a fortuitous find for us! Fantastic place, people and food. Best quiche I have ever had; I do not like quiche but they have made me a convert with how good theirs is. Also, best macaroons my wife and I have ever had and she is a connoisseur. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
TL:DR - Beautiful friendly little tea shop. Tea selection is large, but mostly flavored Argo/Teavana type tea flavors. Super friendly staff. Not a ton of seating and small number of outlets prevent it from being a favorite study spot. I think there are sooo many things to love about this place, but there are also a lot of expectations when you see a legit 5 star establishment on Yelp (not a 4.5, but a 5!) that were not met. First off, this place is small and quaint, which isn't bad. It's an old re purposed garage. It has about 3 or 4 small two person tables. I came in the winter, so the garage doors weren't open, but I really anticipate that it would be nice in the spring and summer with all the fresh air. The other thing is that the people who work here are genuinely the nicest people IN THE WORLD. Talking with them, you can tell they genuinely love what they're doing, they love the neighborhood, and really just want you to have a nice day. From talking with them, I know it's a local women owned shop, and you just love supporting places like that. I was really excited coming here, because I was looking for a local study spot, and I LOVE tea way more than coffee, and who doesn't like a pastry with their studying? I got a rice krispie treat, and it was delicious. I'm not sure if it's made in house or not, but I'm good with it either way. The only big downside for me is the tea. Like if your place has "tea" in the name, it should be a place to go to get hard to find teas. And to be fair, this is just a huge personal preference (hence why I gave it 4*s vs. 3*s), but a lot of their teas remind me of the types you find at teavana are argo tea. Like Peach Flower, or rosemary hibiscus. I'm just looking for some really good classic unadulterated Asian teas, like hojicha, or matcha. The other thing is that there is a lack of outlets for studying. They had a powerstrip at the bar, but it's hard for me to sit on a barstool for hours to study. But overall, this place is still amazing, and I will be back. Maybe not for long study sessions, but def to catch up with friends or to people watch in the spring with the garage doors up.

Yelp
This business is so well run. The staff is so kind and knowledgeable about their teas. They have a very family oriented feel when you come in and such a wide array of tea options. Amazing place!

Yelp
Oh my gosh let's just talk about how cute this place is!! I finally stopped in after months of wanting to and it was SO worth it. I had the barista craft me something yummy because there were so many options. She made a turmeric blend of something... amazing. Then I decided to get the spinach and tomato quiche just for fun. Literally the best thing I've ever had, breakfast wise. To top it off the owner was there and just so sweet! New fav spot!!

Yelp
Easily my fav new tea spot! The pastries are delicious and so are the iced teas. We've had the blueberry rooibos, ginger lime, patagonia wild guava, and some citrus iced tea. I will definitely be coming here regularly!

Yelp
Having this super cute and delicious bakery within one block from me is really going to test my soul on a daily basis. I suspect I am going to have more cheat days than I care to mention. For the past 2 months, I have driven by making a mental note to stop in. Today I finally stopped and oh my, the smell of baked goods wafting in the air, made me want to buy everything. I stopped at a chocolate chip cookie and a slice of the citrus pound cake...today. They also carry an array of macaron cookies which happen to be my fav, so yeah, I'm in trouble. The staff is also so nice and accommodating which makes stopping here a no brainer.
