Best Restaurants in San Diego’s Point Loma Neighborhood | Eater San Diego

"This new boba tea spot (which boasts a Harry Potter themed bathroom) has garnered solid reviews since opening in mid-June. There are egg puff waffles on the menu and the drinks, which range from taro black milk tea to a strawberry smoothie and peach green tea with boba, can be customized to preferred sweetness levels. Stop by during happy hour (4 to 9 p.m.) for a 10% discount." - Keri Bridgwater

I used to come here everyday after school and it was so good. I would come with my friend and we would all have so much fun. There is a PS5 and a claw machine for people to play on to! The boba taste so good and I will always love this place. The inside of the shop looks really cool with lots of decorations. I also always see the same lady working every single time and she and the other people work so hard.

Google
Nice quiet area to sit at. But the parking in this area isn't the best. (2hr Street parking only) There is only 1 person running it so orders can take a little bit. But there is enough stuff to look around while you wait for it. Or you can call ahead to pick it up. The boba runs a little sweet so would recommend ordering at 50%.

Google
We have been here two times already and it is quickly becoming our to go place when we are visiting Sunset Cliffs or Point Loma. The shop is small and cute - we like the interior a lot, looks like a lot of care was put in it. There are a wide range of choices - you can craft your own drink or use a preset. First time we tried brown sugar milk tea with popping boba - it was good, but popping boba was a bit sour and it didn't go perfectly with sweet beverage. However, it was our own decision to combine the ingredients. The other thing we tried was Almond Milk tea with boba - this one was solid and the texture of boba is nice. The second time we ordered Raspberry fruit tea with cheese cream -- that was very refreshing and unusual! A lot of cream too which is a plus for us. The other beverage was passion fruit with coconut jelly -- also quite nice. Have their visitors card - already 4 drinks out of 10 to get a free one! Will return once in the area when we have a boba craving.

Finally got to try tea here. Boba pearls were great and other flavours were good as well. Big menu, lots to choose from, milk teas and fruit teas. There's a cozy seating area inside and free wifi.

Google
Cozy local neighborhood tea shop. I've been ordering the milk tea with almond flavoring and brown sugar boba....would definitely recommend. Looking forward to trying a few other flavors as well.

Google
Had a great experience at this Boba Tea shop. Great atmosphere, great location and great customer service. They were friendly, helpful and patient with every customer. A large variety of tea drinks. Would definitely return and recommend to any friends around the neighborhood.

Google
First time visiting. Very inviting area both inside and outside. We got the mango & strawberry smoothie, Thai and taro bobas; all were just ok. We were disappointed that the mango and strawberry smoothie was made with flavoring and not actual fruits. Will not return but I do recommend for first time guests to try it out for themselves.

Google
This is such a cute little tea spot in Point Loma! The best Thai Ice Tea I've had in San Diego! They even ask you how sweet you would like it💚 The owner is super sweet as well! This place is a must if you are ever in Point Loma🌅💚🍉🍍🍓

Yelp
As a true tea lover, I make it a mission to try different teas wherever I go. Whether it is a traditional cup of green tea, a perfectly brewed chai, or a milk tea with boba, each experience is a chance to explore new flavors and appreciate the art of tea-making. I stopped by Tea's Moment, and even though they were about to close, the owner was kind enough to take my order. She even asked me what I was craving in a tea. I told her to make me a Thai milk tea with boba, and she delivered exactly what I wanted. The tea was smooth, perfectly sweetened, and rich in flavor, with the boba having just the right chewiness. Beyond the tea, the customer service was exceptional. The owner was friendly, patient, and truly cared about making a great drink. That is something you do not always get in every tea shop, and it made the experience even better. If you love milk tea, herbal tea, or just a relaxing spot to enjoy a drink, Tea's Moment is worth checking out. Rating: 5/5 - Great tea, great service, and a great experience.

Yelp
Cute boba shop in Point Loma that has eclectic decorations and a gaming area. I'm still a little confused on the name since the cups and other signage says Yeeha Boba, but whatever the official name is, I really liked their drinks. I stopped by on a Saturday and there was a large party of about 12 that was ordering right before us so the wait was a little long, however the 2 people working did a good job of cranking out the drinks. I was especially glad they were able to make it lactose-free and had some pretty good flavors. I stuck with my go-to taro slush and added Oreo and boba. The prices were pretty average, considering I got a few add ons. As someone who's pretty particular about my taro drinks and this was so good, perfect amount of sweetness (25%), consistency and blended the taro and Oreo very well.

Yelp
Really small and chill spot- giving Internet cafe vibes. Service was good, the bobarista was quick with our drinks. One thing that was bothersome was the immediate tip percentage on the tablet being automatically set to 28%. Not really from San Diego so I guess I just wasn't use to such inflated prices for something as small as a drink. Or I'm just cheap. Now for the drinks- I got taro and my girlfriend got Thai tea. Both were yummy and pretty standard drinks. Now for the reason this place got 3 stars instead of 4, the so called smoothie listed on the menu. Take a guess on what flavor it is, because it's definitely not watermelon or cherry- it's strawberry. The most synthetic strawberry smoothie you could ever have. We were really upset for my friend who was expecting a creamy delicious drink made of blended strawberries. Instead we got a poor recreation of a 7/11 slurpee. Really turned her off from ever trying a new boba shop again. Overall 7/10 for the first two drinks. 1/10 for the "smoothie."

Yelp
Came in and ordered Taro Tea, Jasmine Teas and a Mango Tea. Fast order BUT BUT BUT there's a cat or dog hair on the lid of my drink!!!! She heard me complain but didn't offered a new one. Just ignored me. Took out the lid and drank it anyway. Not sure I will come back. They have a console in the lobby tho.

Yelp
Always enjoy my boba tea here . They have a great selection of teas and boba. I go in all the way with traditional and bursting boba in one drink . The name has changed so when you see the sign outside it may be confusing to you . Very cute shop has its hipster decor, with great seating it's chill & inviting . I saw a few board game options if you want a hang spot too .

Yelp
Swung by San Diego and saw this place on the corner so me and my boyfriend came to check it out. A nice drink for this heat would do it. The menu has a choice of options and you can always customize to your liking. I typically go with something fruity and simple so I kept it light. The prices are reasonable and the cashier was very kind with suggestions. Love this cute shop and will be coming by again if I am in the area.

Yelp
Easy to find on the corner, enticed in by the açai bowl sign. It was hot and I was looking for something for late breakfast. The bowls and the smoothies look the most appealing lots of interesting unusual flavors you can't find elsewhere. I opted to try something new & different.: Ube Wan Fruit Granola Bowl - medium (smaller size). Good, It tastes like Ube coconut milk ice cream. Fruit and granola on top were fresh. A little smaller than expected for the $11 price, which I think was a little too high given what I got, which was worth about $7-$8 compared to Nekter. Quiet place, plenty of seating, chairs, high and low and couches with tv screens and gaming consoles. Interesting art, wall installations and a book shelf for browsing while you sip. I'll be back for a smoothie as it's just down the street from church.

Yelp
I had never been to Tea's moment until a couple weeks ago, as it had always been closed when I had tried to go for morning coffee/tea runs. On a Saturday, I wanted a cold drink to bring to an event at the nearby library and was excited to see that it was open. Generally, I find it pretty easy to park on the street nearby, as there are many two-hour parking spots available. I walked in to find a few table occupied, but it wasn't busy. The place has a clean and modern aesthetic with a bit of a chill coffee shop vibe. It was a rather warm afternoon so I told the barista that I wanted something cold and refreshing without being too sweet. She suggested the fruit teas, and pointed to the menu, showing off several different fruit flavors. I chose the mango. She noted that I should choose a lower percentage of added sugar in order to ensure that it isn't too sweet, so I choose 0% with no other toppings or additions. The tea was ready almost instantly. The large tea came in a really cute plastic cherry blossom cup with a lid. It was adorable, but a bit of a waste of plastic. The mango flavor was good and strong, but even with the 0% added sugar, it was far too sweet for me. I ended up sipping it for about two hours, as the sweetness was too much for me to drink quickly. I am not a fan of sweet drinks, and so perhaps this tea shop isn't the right place for me. If they are open when I am passing by another time, perhaps I'll try the regular (not fruit) coffee or tea to get something more to my taste.

Yelp
Tea's Moment has been the longest lasting boba tea shop on this busy corner of Point Loma. The inside of the suite has remained the same with occasional updates to the menu. They don't have a dedicated on-site lot so you have to drive around the nearby streets to locate open curbside parking. With Point Loma High School right across the way, this can be challenging depending on which day and time you come. At my most recent visit, boba pearls were sold out so the lady at the service counter allowed me to pick another topping for free. I selected the coconut jelly for my passion fruit green tea with 70% sugar and 50% ice. There was already yogurt jelly included in the drink. Adding the second jelly type made the concoction too chewy which was my mistake. The beverages were a little more expensive compared to other areas of town that have nearby competition. Since Point Loma doesn't have many bubble tea places, Tea's Moment is a convenient spot for those who want a fix without having to leave the neighborhood. I am sure the high school students appreciate having this option within walking distance for them.

Yelp
Puff cone with ice cream was good. It was huge for $8.50. We also ordered original milk tea and a pineapple green tea. Both were good, but on the sweeter side. I ordered them in 70% sugar, and next time I'll do 50% instead. Ambience is nice. There a few sofas some tables and chairs. Cute cafe to hang out or bring your book. Owned by a young family. So it was nice to support small family business.

Yelp
We were craving a sweet drink, so we decided to take a quick visit to this establishment. The rose milk tea reminded me of home, and the boba balls were perfectly chewy. The barista who created our order was very nice and service was friendly. The interior was very creative, and would be a perfect place to chill with friends/family.

Yelp
I wanted a little treat after a really warm day and saw Tea's Moment's on my way to Ortiz's Taco Shop. The shop was really cute, they kept the cafe really well ac'd which I am grateful for. I ended up ordering a large Passionfruit ice tea with lychee jelly, the cashier asked if how I wanted the sweetness and I said regular. The cafe also offers snacks and bubble waffles, which I think I might get next time I come back. My tea was really nice, it was a little sweet, so next time I'll only ask for 75% sweetness and they're really gracious with the lychee jelly, some places don't put enough. I really want another passionfruit tea now that I am writing this!

Giselle

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times, everytime forgetting I had been here before. The drinks themselves are good, but the tapioca pearls themselves are not the best. They are often chewy. The last time I went they were so bad I ended up taking a few napkins to spit out the bobas as i sipped on my drink.

Si M.

Yelp
Cute place, looks like it'd be fun to hang out with a piano, video game console, books etc. I'm usually picky about boba tea and go to Convoy or other places with lots of different types of fresh tea but I was thirsty after walking and wanted something in the area. I always judge places by their jasmine milk tea and it was pretty decent with no bitterness, right amount of milk, not too too sweet at 50%. I got lychee in it this time and it was the usual jelly that you get at any boba place. But I'm giving a review as they were very fast getting the order out, it's a cute local business and overall the tea was pretty good in a pinch!
google avatar

Denice R.

Yelp
Quaint spot. Very cute. Lots of tea options. Will return, I've got several other drinks to try. Ah... if you're into video games, you can play some here! It's a really cool place.

Yelp
The young girl at the counter was the rudest. She had that "I hate everyone and this job attitude". The iced tea wasn't even cold. More like room temperature. The place didn't have a good vibe. Felt a lot of negative energy coming from that place. Maybe the girl was just temporary and they replaced her with somebody more personable and friendly, But I wouldn't know because I'll probably never go back.
google avatar

Miranda M.

Yelp
The server taking orders was kind and fast. I got the honey black tea with boba with 30% sweetness. Once we got in, I saw that all flavoring was done using powders. The boba itself was nothing special, a little on the hard side. Overall, the tea was fine, a bit sweet for the lower sweetness level. The price point was good at $6ish so not a big loss. The people running the store were nice! I would likely not go back here, but it's not the worst place I've ever been.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
The interior decor of this boba place is so cute! I got the raspberry milk tea with boba which was very good and a rare flavor I haven't seen before. The boba was fresh (soft and chewy). The bathroom was also very clean and well-appointed.
google avatar

Jodie L.

Yelp
Love this place. It's on the corner across from the high school and street parking can be tough but most of the time people leave very quickly. I always opt for their large milk tea boba with half sweetener. It's always consistent and the people working here are very kind and pleasant. There are a few couches and tables for seating but it never gets crowded. Very relaxed and chill environment, easy breezy! Highly recommend.

Yelp
My bf and I stumbled on this place and were happy we did! The staff is super nice and helpful and patient. They have a great variety of drinks to choose from and I was super tempted to get an acai bowl but I had to stop myself lol the mango fruit tea I ordered was bomb and I like that you can adjust the sweetness. Also the inside has a great photo op area :)

Woodlyn P.

Yelp
My favorite boba shop. Love the Thai tea with almond milk and boba. It's addictive!! I order it with zero sugar and it's super good.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Tasty boba... my first time at this location. Cute, quaint atmosphere with a splash of hipster. The milk tea was delicious - I ordered it with zero sugar, no ice, boba and Oreo cookie crumbs. Delicious!
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
While I really appreciate that they offer oat and almond milk as alternatives here - it makes me sad that the quality of the drinks overall are pretty subpar. Especially because there aren't really any other boba spots in the area. The boba could be slightly softer, they use powdered non dairy creamer (I'm not a fan) and really seems like they possibly rely heavily on artificial flavorings/syrups for their flavours (also not a fan of). Our passionfruit drink had no fresh passionfruit in it. The jasmine green tea was super brown and opaque which was very unusual for a green tea.... It looked more like a black tea with powdered creamer. Really wish they'd step up the quality here.

Yelp
Located in Point Loma, this boba spot is cornered in a small business park on the main street. Make sure to pay attention to your GPS as Tea's Moment shares an entrance with another business. Street parking is available but scarce. We got lucky as we pulled up. Anyway, the interior is set up in a very thoughtful way -- with brick walls and hanging shelves, one can appreciate the time it took to put it all together. The boyfriend wasn't in the mood for anything but I was so I ordered the Lychee fruit tea with lychee jelly (they don't have lychee bits which sucks because I would have preferred that over the jelly). I asked for it to be at 25% sweetness level but it still came out a bit too sweet for me. They're trying so I give them credit. I saw lots of cool options on their menu so check them out when you're in the area. Support local y'all!
google avatar

Somi J.

Yelp
Cute shop! Parking is only street parking at least what I saw. In a corner shared with a barber shop. This place is pretty big for just a boba shop. Bunch of couches to sit and few tables here and there. Cute decorations. The check in for 10% off of your drink does not work here. Apparently they have a new owner. I've got black tea, honeydew with bobas. The bobas were cooked correctly and service was fast. There were a lot of options. We will stop by again if we are back in the town.
google avatar

Andy C.

Yelp
The decor in here is warm and friendly, and the boba is amazing! It was nice and cold (even at 50% ice) and the coffee flavor was nice and strong. Highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Emi B.

Yelp
Loved this tea and the boba. The place was pretty cute and nice to hang out for a bit. Just wish the lids were the sealed on type, otherwise loved it!
google avatar

Shaedyn M.

Yelp
The coupon on here was from an old owner, so apparently they have new ownership? Their cups say one brand and the store is called another. We got our drinks 30% sweet and it was undrinkable. Someone mentioned this being the best matcha so I went for a matcha and I taste Zero tea flavor. It tastes like cereal milk. The back wall had multiple powders used for flavoring and whenever I see that I usually turn away but I trusted the reviews. However, I think the new ownership means new everything and the previous reviews are not relevant anymore. They were kind enough to remake one of our drinks before I had a chance to try my matcha, and them making it "less" sweet was doing 0% sweetness. I didn't bother even asking them to remake my matcha at that point. The only non dairy milk they had was the non dairy creamer, so no oat almond soy etc. sooo. Yeah. With all of the options for boba in this city, we personally will not return. If the reviews are for an old ownership, I believe a new Yelp page should be made for the new company to reflect so they can use it to improve their business. Best of luck.

Debra R.

Yelp
Pretty cool place, nice variety of drinks and snacks, and the decor/aesthetic is relaxing and fascinating, especially their Hogwarts themed bathroom. Staff are friendly and service is quick. Seating is plentiful, with couches, high tables, regular tables (great for studying), library, and gaming area.
google avatar

Katherine L.

Yelp
2 for the flavor and good boba. But -3 for the sketchy sizing of their cups. I won't say anything negative about them; I'll just give y'all a big tip when ordering, ORDER a SMALL there is the tiniest different to the LARGE
google avatar

Leslie C.

Yelp
I came into this place as I was in the mood for some boba! Like most places I visit I like to read the Yelp reviews and then decide if a place is worth trying. The pro about this place was the milk tea of course, but to me the milk tea was lacking in quality. It tasted as if it was powdery( almost as if it was not properly mixed. Second you will see that there is a coupon available upon check in. When I showed the individual assisting me, she stated that the shop is under new ownership and they no longer honor this coupon. ** please note that they will not honor the 10% off discount, and they are not very nice about making it known**
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Brown sugar milk tea boba taste straight up like milk. Boba is not sweet either even though I ordered the drink at 50%. It's nearby a high school which is cool and the store itself is pretty small. Ran by 2 people who I think are the owners. I forgot to add that the matcha green milk tea here tastes so Americanized! Literally you can go to Starbucks and order a matcha there and it tastes the same. Cheap matcha quality and you can see from the register that their flavored tea or milk tea drinks are powder. Im from the Bay Area where there's a lot of good boba spots. Maybe San Diego just isn't the place for me to get boba. 2 stars for me.

Leilani O.

Yelp
What a lovely crowd. The ambiance of this place is simply superb. How convenient that these kiddos can go to this boba place after school! Lucky them! I'm jealoushope this place brings you as much joy as it has me and my sweet friends!! I got the honey green tea I highly recommend! Great service chill vibes!
google avatar

Linh N.

Yelp
First off I want to say I love boba so much I think if you took an IV from me, my blood type would be milk teas. Please save your money and go to a real boba shop. Had to toss it after two sips. The first was ughh, the second was to make sure it was very ughh (and it was). Not even sure how they got this many stars but trust me don't go here unless you're ok with cheap, mid tasting drinks.
google avatar

Tammy W.

Yelp
Super cute little boba/tea shop. So May varieties of teas and combinations you can create to meet your own desires . The inside decor is inviting and unique. Too bad we couldn't enjoin the sitting areas due to covid but once restrictions are lifted I'll be sure to go back and hang out.
google avatar

Chu Y.

Yelp
It's just mid. Nothing special about the tea at all. The boba is hard and not very chewy. There are plenty of better boba shops to go to in SD. Don't spent time coming here.
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Delicious !! Fast great service lots of little things for families with kiddos ! Definitely recommend !
google avatar

Maria G.

Yelp
We came here after going to Cabrillo National Monument because it was close by. Loved the decor - very warm and welcoming. I can see that this cafe would be a nice place to dine in and hang out during non-pandemic times. The drinks were very good. I loved the rose milk tea that I ordered. The other tea we tried was the Taro Milk tea which was also very good. We both got half ice and half sugar which came out perfect. My favorite thing about this place that I wish other tea places do is to make any tea drink caffeine free. I would give an extra star for that. I highly recommend this place for teas. Great selection of teas and drinks. We will definitely return.
google avatar

Dan W.

Yelp
My boyfriend bought me the black tea with cheese cream, and I have to say I was really impressed. The black tea was strong, and it was a fragrant, deeply-flavored tea (not some hokey pokey Lipton situation). I am normally a Jasmine green tea person, but I was totally won over by this tea. Tip: Order your tea drink with less or no ice, so as not to dilute the tea flavor!

Florence L.

Yelp
The cutest family owned boba shop! The service is quick and the customer accommodations are great from the decorated bathroom to the free wifi. I loved the rose drink I had as well (black tea, 50% sweet, with boba)!!

Sloan F.

Yelp
Baller ass boba and super yummy lavender tea. The owners are awesome and the place is great
google avatar

rebekah p.

Yelp
Grabbed some boba and bubble waffle. Loved the mango green tea boba. Also try the Lavender milk tea boba
google avatar

Ninna Alessandra Arcena A.

Yelp
Milk tea drinks are 10/10. Service was great! The owners were really accommodating and friendly. Free wifi, and a great study spot for light studying/getting homework done. Sometimes it can get busy, and they keep the radio playing so if you get distracted easily, it might not be the ideal study spot for you. Otherwise, this place is pretty cool!

Yelp
Just dropped by with my siblings for a quick drink, and as soon as you walk in the shops look alone was great. The aren't as many drink options but there is a good selection. I personally got the honeydew smoothie and it was amazing, it was 100% sugar and it was sweet enough for me (it may be a little sweet for other people though).

Yelp
I happened to be in the area and was about to head back to LA but wanted to grab some drinks for the drive. Came in about 6pm and there was a about 6 orders ahead of us. The place is really clean and super cute. With the pandemic, they were definitely following the state's guidelines. Everyone had masks on and social distancing while they lined up to order and wait for their drink. I felt really bad for the ONLY one person working in the shop. Kudos to her for working her butt off, you can tell she knew what she was doing but she needed help. We order the following drinks: 01. Rose Black Milk Tea w/ Boba 70% Sugar (Med) $4.29 - 3 Stars - Definitely a bit too sugary, should've gone with 50%. Just a hint of Rose, wished the tea was a bit more stronger. Boba was a bit on the hard side. 02. Black Milk Tea w/ Pudding 70% Sugar (Med) $4.29 - 3 Stars - Pudding was a decent amount but the same with the tea being a bit watered down and the 70% was too sweet. 03. Lychee Smoothie w/ Boba 70% Sugar (Med) $4.79 - 5 Stars - This was so refreshing and slushie, the Lychee flavor was just perfect and the Boba was just the right texture of chewiness. 04. Almond Black Milk Tea w/ White Boba 70% Sugar (Sml) $3.79 - 5 Stars - This was really GOOD and not too sweet at 70%. The white Bobas had the perfect bite and sweetness. One of the BEST Almond Milk Teas I've had in a long time. 05. Mango Green Tea 50% (Med) $4.29 - 3 Stars - This was good but wasn't the best I've had, it was a bit watery like the Black Tea. The sweetness was perfect for this flavor. Needed a bit more ice as well, it was a bit warm to taste. Verdict - If I'm in the area again, I would definitely come back for the Smoothies and Almond Milk Tea and try other tea flavors. Location - Literally on the corner with their name on the white Brick wall. Parking - Didn't have it's own parking spaces. You just have to find parking on the street or find a spot in the "30-minute only" zone. Just read the signs in case. Decor - Super cute and very CLEAN space, the bathroom was clean. Social Distancing Policies - Definitely was following the rules. Must wear a mask to enter. The tables had an "X" marking you can't use them.

Yelp
I love this place, always quick, always good. I like the balance of their flavors, never too sweet but always so good.

Yelp
*Business operating during the pandemic "thank you" - Review #1 I've passed by this place for the past 3 weeks and noticed it was open. I love milk tea but usually go around Convoy although I never found a a spot that I absolutely loved. I can say that I love the milk tea at Tea's Moment. I can't believe they've been around for about a year and I've never stopped by. I will certainly be going back. This place is the absolute cutest and honestly so very clean. The person working there was such a sweetheart and was patient as I made my order. I'm so glad I found this place especially at this time. This simple pleasure really gives me joy at a time like this. I highly recommend. They also have a lot more to offer. Check them out!!

Came here on a weekday late afternoon. It's in a quiet location, but there were several customers inside. We ordered a few drinks as well as their egg puff (waffle). I really enjoyed my grapefruit green tea. Lovely, refreshing flavor. Not too sweet. The egg puff was sweet, soft, with an ever so slightly gooey center. Prices are fair. Street parking. Several small tables. A cute place to hang out for a bit. Cute decor along the walls to peak at.
