It’s been a long time since last time i visited. I was in the area so I decided to come by again. I ordered brown sugar assam milk tea and silky strawberry. They looked nothing like the pictured!!! The strawberry drink was refreshing. However the brown sugar drink was the worst that I’ve ever gotten. I’m saying this because I’m a boba addict and I’ve tried so many places. There’s no brown sugar taste and it’s very bitter. I had to throw my drinks away. What a waste!

Great Boba place. Staff is friendly. Free WiFi, lots of ppl hanging out. Choose a seasonal drink which had a cup you can keep $8 : with tip/tax a bit over $9 Get place to get a special treat!

Google
Visited Teaspoon at their newest location for the grand opening. Great deals offered, including BOGO. I will say that their recipes are quite a bit sweeter than the "average" Boba shop. This seems to be more of a dessert drink shop. It's not a bad thing. Just a heads up. The atmosphere was excellent. Nice little shop with interactive decorations near the back of the store. Customer service was superb. Keep up the great work!

Google
Very kind cashier and was very helpful with answering my questions! I have only tried one drink so far— the assam—but it was very yummy. It is not as sweet as other boba places but I don’t mind it that much! The boba is delicious itself which is nice. Definitely have to try more drinks here!

Google
Not bad but not great either. Their sugar levels are different then most boba chains. I usually get 50% sugar because Boba in general is too sweet for me, but their 50% is hardly sweet at all. They were also super busy during the time and only 4 young workers against an army of customers. I will give it another go another day. They even have board games which I thought was cool. Indoor and outdoor seating.

I'll keep this review short and sweet If you're daring enough to select the "no ice" option, be ready to receive a cup 1/4 empty Try this elsewhere.... And you get more product for your dollar Owners / management, best of luck. People will catch on, and won't hesitate to look at another boba shop

Google
It's located in 4S ranch with lots of restaurants and grocery stores near it. We got the Dirty ube cold brew with boba and it was delicious. They plenty of seating and staff are really friendly and helpful.

Google
Teaspoon is my go-to boba place whenever it's accessible and I wish that there were more branches here in San Diego. My fave are Liquid Gold and Grasshopper. Liquid Gold is your traditional milk tea while Grasshopper is fruit and refreshing. The service was fine and their staff were friendly. Glad that this place has indoor and outdoor seating since most of the Teaspoon places i've been to are grab-and-go.

Yelp
Addicted to their Matcha Royale with oat milk! I switch between adding honey boba or getting the version with strawberry - they're both so good. This location is near work, so we usually pick up during lunchtime. My coworkers like their fruit drinks like Lychee on Lychee, Guava Sunset, and the Grasshopper. Teaspoon is always efficient if we order ahead on the app, and they have a good rewards program too! The employees are very nice and will remake your drink for you if there's any issue.

Yelp
How does Vietnamese coffee with Ube sound to you? it sounded intriguing for me so I had to try it... it was good it has the strength traditional Vietnamese coffee. Overall a good afternoon drink but be forewarned that if you can't handle the caffeine it may keep you up at night.

Yelp
Cute shop with a welcoming vibe and friendly staff. It's a nice place to hang out or grab a quick boba drink. The menu is creative and offers a good variety--from classic milk teas to fun blends like Grasshopper and Caramel Cream. The fruit teas are refreshing and usually hit the right level of sweetness. That said, consistency is hit or miss. Some drinks come out too watery or light on flavor, and I've had a few mix-ups with missing toppings or straws. When it's good, it's great--but not every visit delivers the same quality. Overall, a decent spot for a boba fix, but not the most reliable. Worth a visit if you're nearby, just keep expectations moderate.

Yelp
Their menu was a little confusing at first. You can't change the sweetness on the preset menu on the wall but you can "create your own" and pretty much order it your way. We got a gift card and were excited to try but was disappointed that the gift card couldn't be used on the app. I just paid with credit card. When I went in to get my drink, the employee did say sometimes there's a glitch ‍ Anyway, drink was a little too sweet but my daughter enjoyed it still.

Yelp
Came here last night. The boba place is cute and has a great selection of board games so that's fun. You can either order on your own or with the cashier. I'll be honest the service wasn't the best. My drink I did not like it was the brown sugar one it was just to bitter but my nieces Thai tea was great!

Paul H.

Yelp
Terrible. The teas are so watered down. Ordered an oolong tea. Barely any flavor, it just tastes like sugary water. To me this is just greed. How much do you need to make off of one cup of tea? Spend an extra $0.50 and use a little bit more tea to actually make it have some flavor. Would have been nice to have a quality boba tea place around here. What a shame.
google avatar

Adam T.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed the boba here. As an Escondido native, it was difficult to find good boba. Sure, share tea is down the street, but if I had the choice, I think I would come to teaspoon. The price is what I expect of many boba shops. Out of all 3 drinks in the picture attached to this review, I would definitely get the Jasmine Cream again. It was rich, flavorful, but most importantly, not overwhelming. It's that nice tea taste. This shop also features a cute dining area that would be great for studying. The music playing isn't unbearably loud, so it is ideal for a focus mode environment. Service was normal, no rude experience in the visit I had. I would come back here again if I'm in the mood for boba nearby

Yelp
The space is nice and the staff are very nice as well but the drinks don't really do it for me. Particularly their passion fruit green tea is not very good to me. Just for reference I order this drink at every boba place to compare them accordingly and this is easily my least favorite. Even their other drinks are just alright but not really near the level of other spots nearby.
google avatar

Kelvin M.

Yelp
The drinks are consistently delicious, and the quality of their ingredients really stands out. Their tea has the perfect balance of flavor and sweetness, and the boba is always fresh and perfectly chewy. The store is pretty nice inside too! The menu has a great variety, and I love that they offer creative drink options alongside the classics. The staff is friendly and quick, making every visit a smooth experience. If you're looking for a go-to boba place that never disappoints, Teaspoon is it! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I stopped by Teaspoon with a friend after lunch. They have a really good selection of classic and signature options. You can even create your own! I ordered a matcha royale and my friend got a liquid gold. I really liked the matcha royale. The matcha to tea ratio was good. Next time I want to try building my own. The interior space was also nicely done. There was also outdoor seating. Their wall word art was very clever, incorporating their business name Teaspoon.

Yelp
Pretty good but it took a while to get my order. The place also smells like a lot of burned brown sugar so it was kind of interesting!!

Yelp
Whoever did this deserves a raise! My g/f and I just got back from Japan, and she fell in love with anything Miffy. We were in shock when we received our custom Valentine's Day Miffy cups! It really made our day, and we appreciate the little things like this. The fantastic service alone will have us coming back here in the future. Keep up the awesome work over there!

Yelp
Not a fan unfortunately. The most expensive boba in the area and the flavor isn't great. The boba is nice and soft, but if I'm paying over a dollar for salted foam maybe you should give more than 2 oz. I also question whether I got that much because it was such a thin layer at the top of my drink. Clean place and not busy at 11:30am on a weekday, but definitely not worth the cost.

Yelp
Pretty cute place with delicious drinks, I like the fact that it has a kid corner with book and toys kept my kiddos busy.

Yelp
Cozy place to hang out with friends to grab a drink. Variety of drinks and snacks from the menu. Service is friendly.

Yelp
A solid boba place in 4S for the boba fans. Clean, quick order, quick and smiling service, plenty of choice with many of them including toppings. We ordered silky strawberry and strawberry colada smoothie. Both are on the sweet side with honey boba push the sugar to the top. Sweet tooth will be very happy for them Nice place with inside and outside tables and clean unisex restroom. Recommended

Yelp
I recently moved to 4S Ranch and was sad I wasn't as close to my usual boba spots anymore. I came across Teaspoon and really enjoyed it! A plus is that it's the closest a boba spot has been to my home! I ordered the classic Thai tea and it was pretty good. I've been here a few times now and the store is never too busy. The drinks are ready fairly quickly as well, which is great. I've noticed that they also hold a lot of events at the store. They recently did a Super Smash Bros tournament to raise money for a school club, which I thought was pretty cool. I definitely will be coming back again and will keep an eye out for more events!

Yelp
Food: 2.5 Service: 2 Ambiance: 3.5 We were in the area, craving boba and found this place. I was hyped to check it out as there were good reviews and the drinks looked amazing! Upon entering the vibes are bright and fun. There are claw machines scattered throughout and some board games you can play with (thought this was a really neat touch!) There was one other customer when we walked in, and there was no greeting or welcome. There is a large screen with the menu items which makes it really easy! I ended up ordering the dirty ube, Thai tea and taro lover. My friend had been there before and really enjoyed the Thai tea. The drinks came out and they looked sooo amazing! However upon drinking my dirty ube it honestly was the yuckiest drink I've had in a long time. I could hardly taste the coffee and the ube part was like water with maybe a few drops of light ube flavoring. It was so weird! I couldn't even finish it . The taro lover drink was just ok.
google avatar

Char B.

Yelp
Great selection of drinks! We got a matcha, ladybug (passion fruit), milk tea & black sugar assam. The black sugar taste like the Filipino dessert taho! It was really good. Ambiance is nice there's a lot of seats, good if u want to study. Also few claw machines. The workers are very friendly.

Yelp
I can happily admit I come to Teaspoon in 4S Ranch at least once a week. I usually go for a Classic Thai Tea with Lactose-Free Cream (Pictured x2) but I've tried the Assam Black Tea, the Red Bull Sunset, the Mango Funtime, and the Ladybug with Heart Jellies. I've never tried something I didn't like from here. I wish I had more pictures. For their seasonal and new drinks they usually offer samples which is great. I tried the Ube Astra yesterday and it was really good. I always end up sticking to the Classic Thai Tea but that's not to say I don't take a sip of my friend's drink sometimes! It's bright in here and very kid-friendly. Toward the entrance they have some activities for kids if they want to use it. The people that work here are so kind and very efficient. The store is always clean and when there's a line, they get through it very quickly. The music is always very trendy and upbeat, which as a college student I can appreciate.

Yelp
Teaspoon is perhaps the best boba tea shop in San Diego! Their creations are unique and allow for a lot of customization. Their 0 sweet options are truly not sweet and perfect for those who want it. Their honey boba and popping boba varieties are so fresh. And then they have all non caffeinated options for younger children - lemonade with a fruity splash! They offer just one size and are on the pricier side $6.25 - $7 usually , but can vary further based on what you get. They are conveniently located in 4S ranch which really lacked a boba store and seem to be running a wonderful business. Nestled next to chipotle,Mendocino and Sweetgreens, Teaspoon is perfectly located to catch the post meal drink crowd! The staff is always smiling and friendly! I hope they continue to be successful and stay in this area!
google avatar

Allyson D.

Yelp
Their actual drinks are all really great. I like that they use fresh and real fruit. The latest I had was their silky strawberry which is a strawberry marmalade. The service is good, all smiles and cheery even if there's a lot of people inside. The amount of boba left after drinking the liquid is what sucks.. I wonder if it's Their skinny at the bottom shaped cup. It makes it hard, especially with the ice, to swirl your straw around to suck up more boba.

Yelp
Just wanted to update the review and comment on their catering services! We had Teaspoon serve boba at our wedding reception and it was amazing and a huge hit! The price for catering was super reasonable. They even provided a cute wall for the boba and were so easy to work with. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a rainy day for some boba and I came just at the right time! The boba was so soft and fresh so that was definitely a highlight of this visit. There weren't too many people inside, probably because it was raining on and off. The cashier who took my order was very nice and patient with me when I was deciding on what to order. The creamy Jasmine is a pleasantly light Jasmine milk tea. I can see why so many people love it! I also got the lychee on lychee which tastes great as usual. Hope to be back soon for an event here!

Yelp
This review is about their service. Drinks are ok here as they are at all Teaspoon locations (have been to almost all of them up in the Bay), but their service at this Craftsman location needs major help. To start, despite there being 3 employees behind the counter when I walked in, NO ONE greeted or even acknowledged a customer walking in. They were too busy talking amongst themselves about one of the girls being asked out. Literally their convo. Having fun on the job is great, but it comes after doing your job. Second, my order was placed online and I actually went in to pick up before their quoted time so I waited at a table assuming my drink wasn't ready yet. When I still didn't see it after a few more minutes, I approached one of the workers about my online order. It turns out it had already been ready and he took it out of the fridge for me. There's nothing wrong with that, it's awesome that my drink was done way before the promised time. The problem is, as the employee was handing me my drink, he asked if I had asked for my drink when walking in and when I said no, he said they don't know who I am when walking in so I should've asked them earlier. Excuse me, did I complain to you in the first place for you to be so rude to me, a first timer at this location?? What customer expects the store to know them by name as they walk in, if they're visiting for the first time?? NO ONE. You need to calm down and start out by saying hi to customers first. How about we start with that and go from there. And the cherry on top, as I was waiting in the store I heard the employees chit chatting again using profanities. It's an open kitchen and everything is audible to waiting customers. Very unprofessional and childish! NOT coming back here again.

Diana R.

Yelp
Only tried 2 drinks. I liked my jasmine milk tea, half sweet, with fresh taro paste. My daughter said her oolong milk tea was not steeped enough and lacked tea flavor but the boba was good. Good customer service. There were several other patrons before us but we got our drinks quickly.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Came back here and was a little bummed about the lack of flexibility of the drinks regarding their sugar level. Tried to order the taro lover for a friend but was told I couldn't adjust the sugar level because the drink was "pre-made" despite the drink being "very sweet" according to the employee. Then tried to order the the strawberry colada smoothie and was also told I couldn't adjust the sweetness. Ordered the guava sunset and made it less sweet but it was still very sweet so hard to imagine what it would've been at full sweetness. It seems like some drinks here allow you to customize sweetness and other drinks don't but it's not denoted on the menu and I might've just gotten unlucky with the drinks I chose. Still, felt it was a tad awkward and unusual since most competitors allow increasing options for customizing your drink to your preferences. Ended up driving to a local boba shop 10 minutes away that allowed me to order similar drinks at the sweetness levels my party wanted. Overall I'll still be loyal to this place for their creative recipes and on days I'm looking for a big treat for my sweet tooth but will probably avoid on most days when I'm feeling more health conscious.

Yelp
The teaspoon is a great place if you want boba! The staff are excellent! The tea tastes unique! What else could you expect!
google avatar

Katherine T.

Yelp
I appreciate how there's a self-checkout kiosk for when the staff at the register are busy. The drink bases are good, but the boba tends to be clumpy

Sarah L.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday at 530pm and the boba was rock hard. Asked for the toppings to be switched out as it was inedible and was told I could purchase another cup. Def won't be back. There are plenty of other options in the area.

Yelp
So happy to have such a delicious boba place near me! I love their fruit flavors which are really unique blends! Tried the seasonal mango grapefruit swirl which was so refreshing! Also their silky strawberry is such a great flavor combo. The manager and staff are so sweet! Also perfect place to get some work done if needed :)

Yelp
Just came in and the service was very quick. I ordered the Black Sugar Assam: "Creamy rich assam black tea infused with our signature black sugar boba." When I got the drink the boba was very warm which is good because I got regular ice. I mixed it up and the drink was sweet with a deep flavor. It almost tasted roasted in a way. I found it an enjoyable drink. The boba itself was soft and chewy, the perfect texture. I only recommend mixing it when you're ready to drink because the ice in the drink will make the boba chewier and hard throughout the time. (Similar to if you put your leftover drink in the fridge, lol). The boba straw is a bit weird and thin. But you're still able to puncture the lid so it's okay. Interior of the store was really clean and they had several tables inside and outside. The menu was easy to read and they had much more drinks this time compared to the other time I went. The noise level was quiet-average. The music wasn't as loud as last time either, you could hold conversations with this noise level.

Yelp
I order delivery from here at least once a week ! I love the boba texture. My favorites are high mountain oolong milk tea or black sugar assam milk tea. The tea flavor is good and I like the customizable sugar levels.

Yelp
I lived in the bay for ~5 years and Teaspoon was my favorite local boba spot. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was when I found out it would open walking distance to my home!! This Teaspoon brought everything I loved about the ones from the Bay Area - quality drinks, fast service, and good boba. My favorite classic drink is the creamy jasmine - it never disappoints. Other favorites are the silky mango, classic milk tea, and the ladybug. Building your own drink is fun too - an earl grey is my go-to! The kids working are always friendly and quick, location is clean and online ordering is efficient. I am definitely a regular here :)
google avatar

Yelp
High schoolers everywhere. Two drinks for $13. Got the Lime Paradise but when I tasted it, it was kind of a weak Sprite so I took it back and asked to add lychee and then it was actually pretty good! I liked that they had a non-caffeinated option, but next time I'll probably get a normal tea drink. They have the tea espresso machines! Super nice staff. Lots of parking. Lots of seating too.

Yelp
ENJOYING ONE TEASPOON AT A TIME (3 stars) ... is an over statement. The hype is just hype; overhyped. Came here with some expectations because of the raves only to feel mediocre about the hype. Also, appreciate they are trying to be environmental friendly with the paper straws... but them straws are the worst!!! DIRTY UBE ($7.40) - coconut infused ube, with organic coffee, and organic milk. My toppings were honey boba. Went with whole milk, regular sweet, and regular ice. Don't think it's that sweet to reduce the sweetness level. My honey boba were kind of firm in the middle... after awhile they kind of hard. Overall taste, felt like regular ice coffee with a splash of ube flavor. After a mixing it and taking a couple of sips I thought to myself... that's it?! Overhyped. I didn't love it nor did I hate it, everything was average/mediocre. Definitely not in a rush to come back and would probably not order this again and if I do come back look for something else to try on the menu. I'd probably prefer Jamba Juice that was a couple doors down. Just saying. Until the next review....
google avatar

Mei T.

Yelp
Loved the drinks, not the price. I came here with my daughter because we wanted to try a new boba place. I got the Dirty Ube, $6.50, and upgraded to oat milk for $1.00 extra. My daughter got the Silky Strawberry, $6.00, and upgraded to oat milk for $1.00 extra. I thought my drink was on the pricey side, considering it did not come with any toppings. Toppings would have been $0.75 more. Price aside, I did enjoy my Dirty Ube, which was a coffee with coconut and Ube flavor. My daughter liked her Silky Strawberry, which was a strawberry milk. They ran out of honey boba that came with the drink, so we had egg pudding added instead. The drinks were good and customer service was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I would consider coming back if my drink also came with boba at no extra charge....

Yelp
My most recent visit here was great. We placed an online order and came by and had a small wait to pick up our drinks. My cousin recommended their Creamy Jasmine and so I decided to get it this time. I got 50% sweet with boba. It was great! I think I might do 25% sweet with boba next time just to see the difference since I usually prefer my drink to be less sweet. At 50% it's a solid drink and I am excited to let me mom try and give me her opinion as well. The boba is well cooked and the drink was great. I was telling my friend I usually never finish my entire boba drink but I got pretty darn close to finishing this entire cup. We got a little scratcher for LNY so we will be back in the upcoming weeks to use that!
google avatar

Veronica C.

Yelp
We got the Grasshopper tea (lychee and cucumber) with added boba (9/10 very refreshing), the dirty ube (with espresso) added boba (8/10 great however it tasted like chocolate, if you are into it definitely order it! Plus a boost of energy), strawberry matcha with boba (10/10 very delicious plus the strawberries were fresh!!!) we overall loved the service and ambiance of this place, and taste, will definitely come back!

Yelp
After coming across an ad for Teaspoon on one of the social media platforms, we decided to give it a shot. situated in a charming plaza on Craftsman Way, this location is surrounded by picturesque fields and small valleys, making the drive here a truly relaxing experience, regardless of the time or day. The staff is nice and the establishment is well-maintained. Teaspoon exceeded our expectations. The photos displayed on the menu board were an accurate representation, if not even more impressive, when made. We selected the following boba flavors: - Dirty Ube: A delightful blend of coffee, milk and taro - House Milk Tea: Their signature black tea expertly swirled with a hint of cream Not only were these beverages visually appealing with their vibrant layers of flavors, but they were also incredibly refreshing to drink. The texture was smooth and the level of sweetness was just perfect. The boba pearls were the softest we had ever tasted.

Yelp
We were really craving boba as we were on our way down to San Diego from Riverside and saw that Teaspoon wasn't too far off the freeway. We placed an order online for a Thai tea and a dirty ube so we could be in and out. When we came in to pick our order up, we had an odd interaction with a guy at the register who was hesitant to give us our drinks even though I showed him that we had placed an online order. It threw us off, but we hoped the drinks would make up for the interaction. Overall the drinks were alright at best. The boba texture was very chewy (as if it was overcooked) and had a floral flavor that we couldn't place as being a flavor that should have been present in our drinks. The Thai tea was a decent and covered up the boba flavor; but the dirty ube was not that good in my opinion because the coffee flavor didn't compliment the ube. We didn't have a great experience here but hope that it was an off day since it seems to be a very popular spot in the area.

Yelp
I came here during their soft opening and it wasn't busy until after I ordered. I got the silky mango with crystal boba and mango jelly, lychee on lychee, and the black sugar assam. Since I also got a glass bottle, they put one of my drinks in there. All the drinks were pretty and so refreshing. The boba and jellies were really good too. I chose 75 percent sweet, but they only did 25 percent, and it was actually perfect- even my hubby agreed and he never changes the sweetness level. It's a really cute shop in 4S ranch. This is the first shop I've seen use paper straws! The employees are so friendly and nice. Worth a stop if you're in the area!

Yelp
We visited during the grand opening in the affluent location of 4S. Located in the shopping center of Bed Bath and Beyond and next to Baskin Robbins and Moestra coffee with ample parking. The menu is extensive and the employees are friendly. They were able to answer my questions related to a couple drinks. Since I was planning to share my drink with my kids I made sure the drink I ordered was not caffeinated. I ordered one of the seasonal drinks with chocolate and Nutella and my kids loved it. My husband ordered the strawberry sangria and he really enjoyed the drink. You are able to watch the employees make drink with fresh toppings thru a glass. There are several tables to sit and enjoy your drink. Clean and spacious! We wish much success with this drink place.

Yelp
This place has potential. Grand opening this weekend, they offered a bogo deal (honestly, two stars if not for the deal). We tried the coco (Nutella peppermint) milk tea with oat milk and boba. It was a $9 drink that fell flat. There was no tea taste, no Nutella taste (look at how light-colored the drink is); it was basically oat milk. The guava sunset was a bit better, tasting as described - guava, pineapple, lemon; however even at less sweet, it was overbearingly sweet (Diabetes in a cup). This shop is promising, with the great honey boba itself, the ability to customize your own drink, teaspresso (maybe?), and nice indoor seating. Update - great customer service!

Yelp
This place is awesome! My son (9) had desperately been wanting a boba tea because it's all the rage at school - finally took him and the service is awesome. You can order in person or on a computer - the ambiance is nice and small. Very friendly. My son absolutely loved it and asks to go back daily!

Yelp
Their actual Boba pearls are some of the best I've ever had. It's got the perfect chewy texture, size, sweetness, and temperature. If you like boba, you know what I mean when I describe these boba qualities. This spot opened up in 4S Ranch Commons and we are so happy to have them here! Service is fast, the staff are friendly, and they have awesome flavors. I tried out Grasshopper the most recent visit and it was perfect! They do have some desserts, but I only wish they had snacks like Popcorn Chicken or Taiwanese sausages--that would be perfect! ----TL;DR---- Pros: location is great, easy to park, best Boba I have had in a long time, great options/flavors, staff are super nice, not too long of a wait once you place your order Cons: wish they had some snacks but what they already have, we love! Bottom Line: really the Boba is fresh and perfect. Try it and you'll know what I'm talking about. You might see me here!
