"Teaspoon, the Bay Area-based boba chain, opened its first Texas location in Austin earlier this year. It is found in North Austin at 10515 North Mopac Expressway, Suite B215 in North Austin since February 11. The menu includes its usual offerings, including its staple drinks like milk tea, Thai tea, Liquid Gold (a honey oolong tea with cream), and a taro beverage; along with house creations like Grasshopper (a lychee green tea), Silky Mango (mango puree, milk, and honey boba), and Strawberry Matcha Royale; along with coffee like the Dirty Ube. Founder Amy Lai started Teaspoon in 2015." - Nadia Chaudhury

Found a gem y'all! First time here, we got a Taro Lover and Dirty Ube. Both drinks are delicious, not overly sweet and it's has flavor.. like a party in your mouth kind of flavor! I got to come back kore often to try the whole menu.

Google
It’s a 3 star for the drinks for now - I am willing to come back and give it another try once they fully open on April 1, 2023. I would award Teaspoon an absolute 5 stars on branding, ambience, service and the fancy equipment but the drinks leave a lot to be desired. We tried the dirty ube which is supposed to be this unique blend of coffee and ube but in reality, it was just meh. The dirty brown sugar was nowhere to be seen either - that’s on regular sweetness. The jasmine cream tea was too watery even with the lowest amount of ice. They have to step it up if they want to deliver the promised quality of the unique drinks on the menu that matches the images of those drinks. There are a lot of good options popping up in Austin from Happy Lemon to Feng cha and Gong cha, and you gotta offer something unique and better to attract boba or bubble tea lovers. Loved the space though, very clean, well maintained and good high chairs and group seating available. Hope they improve the quality of the drinks after their full fledged opening.

What a great new boba spot in the Arbor walk! Fresh ingredients, Lactose Free options, low sugar options... all v. important for a boba enthusiast. Strawberry milk tea is my go-to, and Teaspoon makes the Silky Strawberry, which is based on an in-house made Strawberry Marmalade! No additional sugar added, but still a good amount of sweet. This one is not your low sugar option. Neither is the Black Sugar Assam TBH, this drink is also not sweetened but the caramel they use adds a food dose of sweet. I loved that they took the time to discuss the sugar contents and various options with me. They were busy, but I never felt rushed. Another major plus is how fast the drinks came!! They know what their doing, no growing pains here despite just now soft launching. Will definitely be back!

Google
This is my favorite boba place in Austin! Based on their menu, they seem to specialize more in fruit teas but still have a variety of drinks for everyone’s taste. The drinks are amazing quality and unique. They have a seasonal drink to keep the menu fresh. Great service and calm atmosphere. Not much seating to be a good study spot.

Google
Interior design is very modern. They made good use out of the space that they have in the store. The menu is not overwhelming with essential and unique boba drink flavors. I ordered the guava sunset with the least amount of sugar level available. The drink was still a bit sweet but I enjoyed how refreshing it was. The milk tea with the honey black boba was okay. Not much tea taste to the drink and the boba was not very consistent; initial sip the boba was soft and chewy then it was hard and undercooked. I prefer boba that is soft and chewy. The dirt ube coffee was unique. I tasted more coffee than ube flavor but it was good.

Google
First time to Teaspoon ordered the Macha Royal with strawberry and boba and it was good, their boba was perfectly cooked and had a good sweetness from the brown sugar. Guava sunset was good too not too sweet. Not really a fan of the Grasshopper, it is very light and kinda tasteless, kinda tasted like cucumber water. Will definitely be back to try more drinks.

A new boba place in Austin. The pearls themselves were perfect and the different tea flavors were very unique. I will definitely be coming back to try more.

Decided to visit this newly opened boba spot in North Austin! I feel like the boba scene in Austin is a tad scarce so when I found out about this place, I was excited. I rushed over with two of my friends when I saw on Instagram that they were doing a happy hour before close. It was a perfect opportunity! It did not disappoint. The employee at the front was so friendly and even asked how to spell my name correctly even though I was fine if it was butchered haha. Service was quick, but there weren’t many people on this particular evening so please be patient if it’s busy on another day. I got a Thai tea and it was pretty good! Sweetened to my liking, but the star was the boba for sure as it should be because it is a boba shop. My other friend got a matcha drink and she seemed to enjoy it as well. They have some goodies too that I’ll hopefully get to try next time. Good experience and a nice end to a Monday evening.

Yelp
5 solid stars for their Flamingo and Lychee on Lychee drinks! Such a varied menu to choose from and we would've tried more but we were wanting something fruity and refreshing and light so we opted for these two.. and they were GREAT! Flamingo is a mix of passionfruit and watermelon with boba and fresh passionfruit! Holy smokes what a great unknown combo! Lychee on Lychee was superb as well- one with honey boba and one with coconut jelly. Service is friendly, interior is clean and comfortable. Parking outside. Cash and cards accepted. Can't wait to try the other locations outside Austin!

Yelp
Another boba shop has opened near my office in the past year, and it seems their specialty lies in their tea offerings. They've invested in espresso-like machines that brew tea instead of pulling shots of espresso, which is quite innovative. I particularly enjoy their Strawberry Sangria, a black tea infused with strawberry marmalade. The inclusion of strawberry pieces adds a delightful sweetness to the drink. They offer a convenient app for rewards and ordering ahead, which enhances the overall experience for returning customers. The shop itself is cozy, with only 2-3 tables and some stools along the wall for seating. Despite its small size, there's ample parking available in the area, nestled between two restaurants. Service is pretty quick when I came so that is also a plus.

Yelp
Friendly employees, amazing service, and delicious boba! I ordered online but was late to pick up my order and they offered to remake my drink since the ice had melted--so thoughtful! The drink itself was delicious, the boba soft, chewy and sweet, and the tea flavor was strong. Overall, I was very impressed by this place, and especially the service, and I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Super helpful and friendly staff. This is a skinny little bubble tea shop in the Arborwalk shopping center between Southside market and Mighty Fine. It has seating and tables if you want to bring your laptop or just relax. I love Ube but it was the afternoon and if I have caffeine too late in the day, I can't fall asleep at night. I asked if I could get the dirty Ube without the coffee and they were able to accommodate. And they were able to do less sugar. I added pudding to mine and it was the prefect afternoon refreshing drink. I'll be going back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
I've been hearing good things about Teaspoon so I thought I'd give it a try while I was in Austin. I got the grasshopper, lychee green tea with fresh cucumber juice. I added aloe with half sweet, light ice. It was such a refreshing drink! The service was great and helpful. I see why the reviews are so high. The prices are on the higher side but I'd say it's worth it since they use fresh ingredients. The menu isn't very expansive which I appreciate, quality over quantity. The space was also super clean. This will be my new go to when I'm in Austin!

Yelp
Awesome boba shop with tons of excellent options. I've been going to Teaspoon for years in the SF Bay Area and was so happy to learn that they have a location in Austin too. My favorite drink is the Taro Lover, which they make with real taro chunks. Pair this with boba and you have a whole meal in a cup -- it's super filling, yet not too sweet. The service is excellent and all employees I've interacted with during my multiple visits to this location have been fantastic. I only wish that there was more outdoor seating/the shop was in a more walkable part of town, because unless you stay to have the drink inside, everything surrounding this store is a huge parking lot.

Yelp
I used to go to their Sawtelle location almost every week and I was ecstatic when I saw they opened one in Austin. This location does not disappoint! Their honey boba is a must-try for boba lovers. The rewards sync across all their locations which is a bonus :) Just note that not every drink is customizable in sweetness.

Yelp
I was recommended this place by some friends and family members, but I thought this place was alright. I got the seasonal grapefruit garden which was good. My friend got the grasshopper and he had requested less sweet, but it came without any sweetness so it tasted like cucumber water. The ladybug was good, but pretty sour and had too many seeds in it. The thai tea was not bad, but I prefer the ones from thai restaurants. The milk tea was also not bad, but I do wish the tea flavor was stronger. The boba tasted alright, I do wish it was steeped in flavor/sugar more.

Yelp
The wall art is very cute and juice-dominated drink selection is fantastic. However, it is so small and crowded inside that it was difficult to feel comfortable. There are only two tables and one long narrow counter that feels squished. The line was very long, and I'm honestly not sure why it's so popular. I was in the Domain and my friend had heard about Teaspoon, so we decided to meet here. The drinks are very pricey here. I had the Lychee on Lychee tea, which was a nice drink on a hot day. Speaking of the hot day, the AC could and should have been much cooler than it was, especially with the shop so crowded. The one garbage can was in an awkward location, and there were was a very small pile (not in a holder of any sort) of napkins, which were also in a strange location only at the pickup area instead of at the tables. Parking is simple in the lot.

Yelp
Drinks were very tasty but also very sweet! (Considering I asked for 1/2 sweetness in mine). Their recipes are pretty and creative. The size of their cup seems to be smaller than the standard boba tea but it's decent enough. My crew was happy with their choices as well. Service was pleasant, no bells or whistles but polite and friendly. The place seemed clean and welcoming. I liked the fact that the straws weren't plastic but bamboo fiber! I would probably go back again to try different flavor and their coffee.

Yelp
This is a lovely spot to get boba with friends and family! I got the lychee on lychee with 50% sugar and it was pretty good, but I liked the honey pear-adise a lot better, but I think it is a seasonal drink. I normally get 0% or 25% sweetness at other boba shops since boba can be too sweet for me sometimes, but for this place I suggest getting a greater sweetness (especially for milk teas) since if you get less than 50% there is not much flavor. The prices are steeper than other shops, but they have a wide variety of drinks on their menu, and I am excited to try new flavors in the future!
google avatar

Adiba O.

Yelp
Their boba is so good! I would say a tad bit more pricier than other places nearby, but the quality is better. The service was kind and there is some seating to chat if you wanted. The ambiance is bright and clean. Their milk tea is sweet even at 50% and tastes more watery than creamy, but I didn't mind that. Their Thai tea and guava sunset is also delicious!

Yelp
New boba spot in town (located in the Arbor Walk shopping center next to Massage Envy) and it is ! The line moved quickly and I overheard other people say it was their 4th or 5th time there since they opened last week--a pretty epic endorsement. They gave samples of the taro milk tea and it tasted like Lucky Charms marshmallows! I ordered the guava sunset with regular sugar and regular ice and it was PERFECT. The boba was just freshly made and perfectly cooked. Nothing worse than under or overcooked boba which I've had at other places in Austin. Loved the super friendly staff and the organic milk (and lactose free) options. My friend loved her White Crystal with lite ice and 75% sugar. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Their dirty ube is wonderful! I have been here a couple times and tried it with an extra shot, with oreo crumbles, and the classic and each time it has been great. The classic version does seem to be the best or at least my favorite. They're very quick and also have an app to allow online orders/reward points.

Yelp
One word. YUM! Coming from Seattle (a big boba city) I have been waiting to find one I like in Austin. This is the first authentic boba place I've found. They have a decent sized space with a few tables. Staff is friendly upon arrival. The menu might take you a minute because they have so many options but I've had several and they were all delicious. The house milk tea and Thai tea are my twin favorites! Also love that they allow you to customize ice level and sweetness if you're not a big sweet tooth like me. Drop by if you're in the area!

Yelp
Got the Liquid Gold with honey boba. The honey boba was soft and sweet. You can really taste the tea in Liquid Gold, fitting for a place named Teaspoon. I want to come back and try the other flavors like Mango! The inside walls are very artistic and love the colorful-looking drinks!

Yelp
I was excited to hear about yet another boba shop opening in the area, but I'm always wary when they first open - there are usually a lot of kinks they have to work through before they reach consistency. With the growing competition of boba shops in Austin, there are higher expectations set in place for new shops. OVERVIEW: Convenient area, clean, aesthetic shop, large menu (seems to lean more heavily on fruit-based drinks), flexibility in menu, slightly pricier than comparable places. I was not impressed with the 2 drinks we ordered, but I would be willing to try other things on the menu. PROS: - Cute tea shop, nice aesthetic - Friendly staff (they offered samples) - Wide variety menu (if you typically prefer fruity drinks, they cater to this; you're also able to "create your own" drink, which I've never seen before) CONS: - Slow service (understandable as they're new and very busy) - Slightly pricier (base drinks start at $6 or $6.50, toppings are $0.75 each, milk/cream substitutes are +$1) - Drinks were watered down/weak in tea flavor (tasted mostly like cream) DRINK RATINGS: - Black Sugar Assam (3/5): This wasn't as sweet as you'd expect, given the ingredients. It also did not look as light as the picture, like it lacked cream (opposite of the Liquid Gold drink). Overall sort of disappointing in flavor. - Liquid Gold (2.5/5): I love oolong tea and it's usually my go-to milk tea. I ordered it as-is, with their lactose-free house cream and added honey boba, and I did 25% sugar and less ice. It mostly tasted (and looked) like cream. There was hardly any tea flavor, which was disappointing; the ratio just seemed really off. The boba was soft and chewy and I enjoyed the honey flavor.

Yelp
Came here on a whim with my husband for the first time. Husband got the dirty ube latte and I got the guava sunset lemonade. Both were extremely delish. Guy at the cash register whom I'm assuming was the owner was very nice and attentive!

Yelp
We saw that Teaspoon has a soft opening and decided to try them out. We had visited other Teaspoon locations in the past and so we had a good idea of what the ambiance should be like. When we arrived we saw a group of people in front of us, but it was hard to tell if they were in line or waiting for their drink after ordering. We chose to go with a Creamy Jasmine and a White Crystal. We originally wanted a Matcha Royale with Strawberry, but they were out of strawberry. This is a bit surprising as 4-5 drinks on their menu uses strawberry, so I found it odd that they would run out of such a highly used ingredient. It took them about 10-15 min to make our drink, which is a very long time compared to other bubble tea joints. The drinks we ordered were good, albeit a little watered down. They only have bamboo paper straws so that is something to get used to. I think a big plus is that they offer lactose free milk for free creamer as an alternative. Otherwise, oat milk was available for $1. We may choose to revisit in the future once they get some of their kinks worked out.

Yelp
Matcha latte with mango purée and silky mango are the best here. Matcha is strong and mixed so well with the sweet mango purée for a delicious drink, no additional toppings needed. Silky mango is sweet and smooth. Regular sweetness is just enough. Grasshopper: Very refreshing lychee green tea topped with cucumber juice. Lychee jellies enhances the lychee flavor even more. Brown sugar assam: It's alright, I wouldn't order again. The tea tastes like it got watered down. Brown sugar isn't as fragrant. Boba has a nice and chewy texture. House milk tea: We came for the grand opening so we got to have a sample of this. It also tastes like it got watered down a lot. Not sure if it was because the whole pitcher was under the sun with melted ice cubes, but the milk tea in black sugar assam is also watered down. I wouldn't come here for the tradition milk tea and would go with other fruity drinks. The shop is very cute with limited tables and chairs. There's a long row of narrow tables along the wall as well. Staff is well trained on all drinks and able to answer all the questions. Pricing is definitely on the high side - $6 for a house milk tea with no toppings. Other fancier drinks are $7 or more. Given the investment they got into creating an upscale look for the shop and the rent they have to pay for this location, it's not a surprise. It was a great experience!

Yelp
MATCHA ROYALE WITH MANGO That's your next order at Teaspoon!! It's my secret menu!! The strong matcha flavor mixed perfectly well with the sweetness of mango. I guarantee it will make your day 200% better. Their shop is nicely decorated with several seats, but if you wanna hang for a while, I recommend the outdoor seating right in front of the store. Their other drinks were good as well: If you're going for refreshing, do grasshopper or guava sunset. If you're going for creamy, do silky mango. Their milk teas are alright, I do feel like the tea flavor is not as strong so I'll just stick to my matcha. One plus point is that they use paper/biodegradable straws!!! The price is indeed a bit steeper, high $6-$7, but given the location, their great customer service, cute shop, and most importantly delicious and high quality drinks, it's justified. It's a yes from me.

Yelp
I wish I could try everything on the menu! Seating is limited, but if you go at a quiet time it's a nice place to do work- wi-fi is pretty glitchy though. Ben and the staff are super friendly and personable. I ordered a Liquid Gold which was not bad, it was strong on a honey scent though. The strawberry colada drink was tasty but definitely on the sweet side. Next time, I definitely want to try their dirty ube and some of their fruit-based drinks!

Yelp
I have to give an honest review. I hate to and that's why I gave this place 3 tries on 3 separate occasions couple weeks apart. With 3 different groups of people. And I can not justify myself to give it as high as the majority of people here sorry. The staff especially the owners I assume 2 men are the nicest they can be. The staff that I met different girls on different occasions are nice and accommodating too. And the place is super cute BUT when I go for boba I want it to really hit the spot. I like to taste tea or coffee in the midst of the sweetness and I would like it to be done right when asked about ice and sugar level. And the boba needs to be chewy perfect. Kung Fu tea has got it down. Even Teapioca their boba pearls are almost always on par. Ding Teas crystal boba is perfect as well. So I expected this to be too. All that to say I know they are new but that's why I went 3x and gave it the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it was me? But how uncanny it was always that the group I was with colluded the same thing on different drinks as well. Can it be I went on off days? This past Saturday definitely was I believe because I heard similar things from my friends who went on Saturday after and before me. Yes I told you there's a large group of people I know some who have gone every day for the last week raving about this place and people who are and have been excited to try it out. Suffice to say my experience is sub par. My 1st try with the taro and my friends black milk tea was probably the best but it wasn't stellar. It was good. It's a pricy tea a bit above the norm so we expect a bit better. But it was passable. And if you follow my food account and yelp reviews you'd know we try out bobas across the nation and in town so we know what's good and what's not. 2nd try different group of people was a let down again. I had to give taro a 2nd try and this time the sweet wasn't there. My friend did not like the cucumber one. She had it redone. My daughter tried it and said the tea was good but not stellar. The other person who got grasshopper said it was ok and again another with the black milk tea was just ok but she did say hours later it got better lol 3rd try was the worse. This past Saturday. Line out the door after lunch. But we saw multiple different groups of friends there and line moved fast. The owner took our order and was amazing and kind. He knew the drinks well. We were confident it should be good. We got the dirty ube, 2 ladybugs which are passionfruit base and I have to get a tea. The golden oolong sounded great . I base a good place by how well they do this simplest thing. A regular oolong tea. I asked for full sugar on all the drinks. Didn't take too long for them to whip it out even though the line was huge. Dirty ube is so pretty BUT we tasted no coffee no ube. And because it came out to a near 10$ with a milk sub we had to ask if they can redo it. I hate to ask but this case we had to. They were so nice about it and did it apologizing. Ahh they are so nice. BUT after tasting it it was better. Tastes a bit of coffee but no ube and still subpar. A bit watery The worse is my friends' ladybug which they were so excited about was horrible. It was watery. They couldn't even drink nor finished it. That was a bummer. They are avid boba drinkers too from out of town and know their teas and said it was the worse passionfruit drink they've ever had :( My tea I am sad to report was pretty bad. It was like water and tea. Much like I can mess up at home. The boba is chewy and slightly sweet but I asked for 100% sweet but the drink was not sweet at all. I asked for 100% sweet on the ladybugs too but they were water. I did taste the tea but the balance wasn't there. Ahh idk what happened. Maybe it was too busy? But now I am tentative to retry. I never had a stellar experience and the price of these drinks aren't cheap. My son and friends went yesterday and he said ladybug was ok and another friend went today and got the golden oolong and said it was just ok :( not wow. So I had to give my 2 cents because too many people are coming and leaving and I would like everyone to get an honest review. Tbh I will and may go back the 4th time if I am with a group of friends who wanted to try it but to go on my own accord idk. Anyways. Cute place. Great sweet staff. Hopefully it can get to be stellar for the price you may. There is too many other boba shops in town that houses a pretty mean boba so this new one has to live up to the hype.

Yelp
Brand new boba shop in Austin! The cashier was super friendly and offered us a sample of the taro milk, and I really liked the flavor! Very fragrant, and not too sweet. I think that's the general trend of the drinks here; not too sweet. All of the drinks we got were 75% sweet and were borderline bland, which means any less sweet would be super bland I think. We got the taro lover, liquid gold, and creamy jasmine. All 75% sweet with light ice. The taro lover had taro chunks in it, which I think you can omit because the cashier asked if I was ok with taro chunks. I said yes because I wanted to try it but I think I would leave them out next time. I thought the drink itself tasted really good but the taro chunks weren't my favorite. Their boba was nicely sweetened and chewy as well! The liquid gold had a creamy, fragrant flavor. The oolong tea flavor was mellow but I could still taste it in the drink. The creamy jasmine had a stronger flavor in my opinion because of the jasmine tea, and it was fragrant but maybe a tad bit more bitter/stronger compared to other places that have similar renditions of this drink such as 85 Degree and 7 Leaves (imo 85 Degree and 7 Leaves have better jasmine tea with cream drinks). I think between the two, I preferred the liquid gold. However, these drinks did taste a bit watered down, but maybe more sugar would help. Their menu seemed to have a lot of really interesting drinks, so I would like to try more flavors next time! The drinks today I would probably rate closer to a 3/5 (except the taro lover; that one was really yummy), but since they are still having their soft opening and are really new, I think there's room for improvement. They also have a sign saying that they will remake drinks if it is not to the customer's liking, which I really appreciate! They also use bamboo fiber straws, which I was skeptical about at first because I thought they'd be like paper straws and start to get soggy after a while but they surprisingly held up! A great environmentally friendly initiative. There was some seating but not a ton, and the inside had beautiful murals on the walls.

Yelp
Super cute location in the middle of Arbor Walks so a great break in between doing errands. Drinks: Their drinks menu has some really fun combos. I really wanted to love the Ladybug because I'm always on the hunt for a good passionfruit boba. The plus sides are fresh passionfruit seeds for that burst of flavor, but oddly enough there wasn't really the tartness I'd expect out of the drink. The strawberry sangria is good and has nice sized chunks of strawberries involved. Unless you are a super sugar fan, I'd recommend asking for less sugar. I'm planning on coming back soon to give their dirty Ube a shot. Logistics: Big parking lot so very easy parking. The space is pretty small inside with only a couple tables and a small bar area, so a bit better for grab and go.

Yelp
Went for National Boba day as they had a promotion for a free topping, and they were packed! However despite the never-ending amount of customers, the workers were working hard and working fast. We did still have to wait a good amount, but I imagine it's not too bad on a normal day. I got the lychee on lychee tea which I thought was great! The lychee flavor really comes through but it doesn't overpower the flavor of the tea itself. And lychee jelly is always good! I definitely want to come back and try their other flavors because they have a lot of unique options, but it definitely is on the pricier side.

Yelp
I have to enjoy the non business much as I can before they end their sod opening because I can see this place getting crazy popular. A lot of the ingredients/drinks were out of stock when we went (I'll excuse that to it still being a soft opening), so didn't really get to try the drinks we wanted to try. I love the fact that most of the menu are fruity drinks. We ended up ordering the Guava Sunset and the Silky Mango both with honey boba. The honey boba consistency was great. Bouncy, chewy and not too hard. The guava drink was pretty sour for my taste but you get a good guava flavor. I got 70% sugar on that. It didn't taste watered down either. The mango drink felt smooth and hits the spot when you're looking for a fruity milk drink that is all too rare. I'd definitely be back to try the other drinks I didn't get to try.

Yelp
Teaspoon is one of the best boba places I've been to in Austin. The honey boba is always coated to perfection and is never hard. It's the perfect consistency of boba! They have some seats. I would say it's a great place to catch up with a friend but would not try to study there (although they do have outlets). I get their Thai Tea with honey boba, and it hits every time. They can't really adjust the sweetness level of thai tea since it's premade, but it's not too sweet and it pairs well with the sweetness of the honey boba. It's so rich and creamy and it's full of thai tea flavor. The fruit teas are also very good! It's very light and refreshing and it's not very sweet either. I believe all the other teas you are able to adjust the sweetness level. If you're ever in the area, I recommend for you to try! Customer service is great also!

Yelp
Glad to see a boba spot open up nearby! Location is convenient to grab lunch or dinner at a neighboring restaurant and pop in here for dessert. Since it was my first time, they walked through the menu and offered samples of the taro lover and silky mango - both were creamy and delicious, the silky mango's flavor was reminiscent of a mango lassi! I opted for the house milk tea with 50% sweetness, less ice and half boba. The tea was strong without being overpowering while the boba had the perfect chewy consistency! Overall, highly recommend trying Teaspoon. I'll be back to try more of their drinks!

Yelp
Teaspoon is one of the newer boba spots in Austin, one that opened within the last year. They have a variety of drinks- the matcha royale is very good, particularly with their homemade strawberry marmalade (made with strawberries!). The black sugar assam was not too sweet. The boba was very well cooked with the perfect chew. I do wish the tea flavor was stronger. There is plenty of parking in the shared parking lot.

Yelp
The Strawberry Matcha Royale just hits the spot every time. It is so milky and creamy with great matcha flavor. The real strawberries are the cherry on top. With every sip, you get a chunk of strawberries that adds the right amount of sweetness to the matcha. Only downside is that this place is definitely pricier than other boba shops. My one drink cost about $8, but it doesn't take away from how good it is. Plus, their service is super quick and friendly.

Yelp
Awesome boba and even more awesome service! I went to try out Teaspoon after hearing good things about it and I ended up really enjoying it. I was originally going to get one of the drinks with boba but they had run out of boba (I did come pretty close to closing so it wasn't that surprising). The worker was very nice and gave me a lot of different recommendations after I told him it was my first time. I ended up getting the Taro Lover which is a taro drink that comes with taro chunks. I loved this drink, it was nice and creamy with a good taro taste to it and the chunks of taro added a nice texture. I had never had a taro drink with actual taro in it and I really thought it added a lot to the drink. I will definitely make sure to come again! Tips: - Don't come too close to closing if you want to make sure you get boba. - The taro drink is really nice if you're a fan of taro you will not be disappointed. - Customer service is really good so don't be afraid to ask questions!

Yelp
Waiting to come here after the hype was tough, but definitely worth the effort. The drinks here are different in terms of variety and quality, and in this case, that's a good thing. The staff was wonderful, answering any of our questions and in general gives the impression that they're all just having a fun time. I ordered the Black Sugar Assam and let's first talk about sweetness. As a baseline, my usual order at boba tea places is 50% sweet. I've read from many reviews that this is a very sweet drink, and while it's definitely sweet, it's not as overpowering as I was afraid of. It doesn't look like you can adjust the sweetness for this drink, but I found that it matches my sweetness preference very well and would order this again in a heartbeat. The boba was excellent; drink it soon to take advantage of how warm, soft, and sweet it is. The assam gives this drink a stronger tea flavor than drinks from other boba tea places and I definitely appreciate that. The assam flavor itself was truly unique, although I've yet determined whether or not I truly like it or not. For the lactose intolerant people, they do have milk substitutes and their house cream is dairy free. For the environmentally conscious, their straws are paper and compostable. The location isn't super ideal, but if I'm in the area and craving some sweet boba tea, it's hard to pass this place up.

Yelp
i tried teaspoon this past weekend after hearing so many good things and they did not disappoint! there was a long line but it quickly passed and we were able to get our order pretty fast. there were a couple items on the menu that were unavailable which is understandable since they've been so busy. i really liked the silky strawberry! it was creamy and sweet strawberry milk but i wish there was more of the strawberry flavor. the mango funtime was a refreshing slush! it was a good combo of sweet and tangy. the boba was also chewy and fresh! there's sm other drinks that i want to try i def need to stop by again! what we got: - silky strawberry w boba - mango funtime w boba ig: @whatsviveating

Yelp
I recommend Teaspoon. I was driving by and saw a soft opening banner. I assumed it was boba shop and I was correct. You walk in very nicely decorated. Great spot to catch up with a friend or study. They have a variety of drinks on their menu and pictures of what they look like. The ingredients and teas all looked like high quality. I ordered a white crystal. White grape tea infused with oolong with lychee jelly. It was refreshing. The right amount of sweet (they ask for your level of sweetness). Their is a Korean grape drink that taste like this which reminded me of childhood. I came back for the taro lover and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The right amount of sweetness. And the boba I added was fantastic. The staff is very welcoming and kind. I will say the drink did take a bit longer to take then I had realized that they literally were brewing my white grape tea in like a espresso machine but for tea. The price is on the higher end for boba but it's worth it. Definitely will come back.

Yelp
My favorite spot for boba in Austin and shockingly, it's never packed. My favorite drink to get is their jasmine milk tea, half sweet with boba. Without the sweetness adjustment, the drink is too sweet for me but I love how you can really taste the flavor of the tea. My husband likes to get Thai tea when we get boba but unfortunately, you can't adjust the sweetness level for Thai tea here since it's premixed. Eventually, I plan on trying their regular milk tea but haven't been able to get anything else since I'm obsessed with the jasmine tea.

Yelp
Newest boba shop in town and I've had this chain in California and Teaspoon I think is now the best in town, even as they iron out kinks during soft opening. They have the two most important aspects to boba nailed down for my preferences - strong, high quality tea and perfectly qq boba. They make their tea espresso style where they tamp down the tea leaves before brewing a strong shot of tea that will get diluted by ice, etc, so the tea flavor really comes through. The honey pearls are just sweet enough and have perfect elasticity, chew and a good amount to boot. They have samples of the day, which also give you a chance to try more of the menu. At this point, I feel like I can say the fruity drinks here are very, very good and highly recommend them if you want something less tea forward. The lady bug and the silky mango are both fruity delights that sound exactly like how the menu describes them. If you want something more classic, I would recommend the creamy jasmine, followed by the liquid gold and then finally the house black. If you like green, oolong or black tea, take your pick, I just generally lean towards jasmine and oolongs and less so black tea. The jasmine is floral, light and refreshing, while the oolong is smooth as, well liquid gold. The black tea definitely has more of that tannic flavor going for it, which if you like, that's great. I generally get my drinks 50% sweet. All in all, probably going to be coming around at least once a week (to the detriment of my health, but the joy of my soul?).

Yelp
Taro milk is my standard when comparing bubble teas though milk tea is a close second. If you're a taro fan you'll like this place. There's real taro in this drink which I haven't had in a milk tea ever. Like most boba shops these days not every drink comes with boba pearls you'll have to add it and they have popping boba too which is basically fruit filled if you want to add some bursts of fruit flavor. I opted for the honey boba for some boba texture in my drink. They did ask the ice level which is nice. I just went with the normal amount but next time I'll probably reduce the amount of ice since it always interferes with getting the boba pearls. This is also the first boba chain I've been too that uses bamboo straws. They don't get all mushy like other alt straws but you'll have to be a little more patient when trying to fish out the pears and taro from your drink. As for sweetness, I didn't adjust the sweetness at all on my drink and I have to say the drink was just right more like 40-50% sweetness at other places. The shop is pretty narrow and there are a couple of tables and some seating on the side for single drinkers. The ambiance is pretty much the same as most boba shops. Order first and head to the back and order your drinks. I do like they ask your name so you know when your order is done. Some places don't and it just makes waiting for your drinks less stressful when they ask for your name. One last thing, this shop is in the satellite part of the shops at arbor. It's sandwiched between mighty fine burgers and the bbq market. So if your looking for this shop it's not where all the big box shops are. Just a minor gripe - the garbage to throw your stuff away is right in front of the waiting area where you pick up your drinks - so you have to navigate around everyone waiting. It would've been nice to be located closer to the door than the middle of the shop.

Yelp
Honeycomb banana latte- indulgent amazing and good to soothe your throat!! this is the best boba i have had so far in Texas! Even through uber eats delivery, they package it so well it won't spill. You won't find any complaints here! also 50% sweetness is still good sweetness for me and the default ice is not too much!

Yelp
I tried to come here for their grand opening but the line was WAAAY too long. Luckily I had made a previous visit a few weeks before. The place is really clean. They even had samples of their Liquid Gold and Thai Tea. The first drink I got was the Silky Mango with boba. I liked the mango purée in the drink but I was just expecting a little more texture in the drink. Next I had a Strawberry Colada. This was a refreshing drink. It tasted just like you'd expect: a strawberry, pineapple, coconut smoothie. Lastly I got a Matcha Royale with Strawberry. The drink looked pretty with 3 layers of color. You do have to mix it up for it to taste good. Since the straws are made of paper, they don't really puncture the lid well so the matcha green tea would leak out of the lid until the drink was at a low enough level for me to fully insert the straw in. If you just taste the matcha green tea by itself, it's a bit bitter. Overall the drinks are good but a little more on the pricey side. Also it would be nicer if the paper straws weren't as flimsy so that you can get a cleaner puncture when sticking the straw through the lid.

Yelp
I've stopped by here a few times and always found the service friendly! So far, I've enjoyed the drinks I've gotten from them and their boba is super soft. I dont usually get boba but for those who do, I don't think you'd be disappointed. Their brown sugar boba is solid and I think I liked it better than their house milk tea. However, I think the best drinks I've gotten from here is their non-tea ones. The grasshopper one was super refreshing

Yelp
This tea place is bright and lovely, however, when I ordered my drink without ice, the girl didn't mention anything about it means less drink. We have been to so many different tea places, ones that reduce the amount of tea when you order no ice, usually inform you that. The drinks taste ok, but not that good. I would not recommend it. Go to Sharetea instead.

Yelp
The house milk tea was legit and the perfect amount of sweetness (I ordered 50%). The boba was fresh, with a nice soft and chewy consistency. My kids enjoyed the silky mango, which is like a mango smoothie made with organic whole milk. I appreciate the quality ingredients that go into their drinks. As another reviewer mentioned, they have this crazy espresso machine but for tea, which is pretty neat to watch. There are two cute instagrammable walls (if that's your thing)--one with boba and the other with the Austin skyline. It's in the same complex as Chuck E Cheese's, so treat yourself to some boba as you drown out the ear-piercing sounds of children and blinding neon lights. You deserve it.

Yelp
Really nicely designed, quaint boba shop in the Arbor Walk, located between SportClips and Massage Envy. Drinks are a hit or miss, some are decent but others are meh. Creamy jasmine was good, not too sweet. But matcha royale was a letdown. No matcha taste at all. Sugar and ice levels are customizable but they vary between different drinks, not very consistent. Service was reasonably fast.

Yelp
After trying a couple more drinks here and coming back a few times- its definitely changed a bit since the first time they opened. Which is probably expected but still a bit disappointing. Their non- tea drinks including the taro are just not that good. However their tea based drinks are still solid including the jasmine, white crystal, and liquid gold. Their boba is sometimes out or just not as sweet and i feel like the quality is all over the place sometimes as well with the drinks being overly sweet and not- depending on the day or whos making it. With numerous other boba shops opening up in Austin im not sure if this is one of the best anymore but still a super solid spot for tea based boba drinks!

Yelp
So happy that we now have a Teaspoon in Austin! This was one of my favorite boba shops back in California. My go-to drinks are silky mango and matcha royale with strawberries. I have visited this location twice and both times the service has been really good. Because they recently opened (soft launch) the might be a little slow with the drink orders but it is well worth the wait. We will definitely be regular customers at this location.

Yelp
Was good and clean. Drink combos are great. We got tropical colada and the taro lover and the taro flavor is not as sweet or strong as some of the shops that use Taro powder for their drink. I liked it might try something else next time. Also the colada took some time to wait for.

Yelp
My favorite from teaspoon is liquid gold. It's the perfect blend of tea and milk for me. The guava sunset and their mango Funtime are good. Their honey boba is chewy and sweet which I like. I tried their grasshopper, and it tastes like cucumber water. Their matcha strawberry is a bit watered down. The white crystal isn't my favorite, but my friends like it. It's just a personal taste. One thing I don't like at teaspoon is that the line forms right at the door, so sometimes you have to wait outside in the sun if it's gets busy. I think the line should be a loop towards the back, so more back space can be used and people don't have to wait outside.

Yelp
Honest Review for the Dirty Ube (w/ an Oat milk substitute) Drink at Teaspoon in Austin, TX // 2.25.23 Pros: -Workers are incredibly nice, patient, and helpful even with a line out the door and a lot of people waiting for their drink. I think it's so important to have workers in a business that exude that kind of energy and vibe so that was really great to see! -Interior is cute and happy. -Drink is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Very pretty and insta worthy! Cons: -I tried going into this place with not high expectations since I know a lot of people have been raving about Teaspoon... but even with that in my mind, I didn't like the taste of this drink... after mixing the drink, I took 3-5 sips and it tasted like water :( -I couldn't taste the coffee or ube... -I got "regular sweetness" but it wasn't sweet at all. -I had to get a dairy free option so I had Oatmilk in my drink... I don't know if that "watered down" the drink flavor... but the drink WAS semi creamy from the oat milk... just tasted like nothingness... :( -also, my drink was $9.40 (bruh ) As much as I didn't want to, I ended up asking one of the workers how my drink should taste and they said I should taste more Ube than coffee, but I told her that I couldn't taste anything, so they kindly made me another one.. the new drink tasted a bit stronger in coffee flavor, but still watered down and not strong in any flavor... Overall, I think this place is really cute and has some amazing workers (so so kind) but I didn't like my drink at all :( and the people I went with ordered the Liquid Gold & Ladybug drinks and they said theirs tasted watered down too :(
