"Designer Ted Muehling’s timeless, nature-inspired pieces come in many exquisite shapes—spindly candlesticks, globe-like earrings—and are the result of collaborations with some of the world’s most revered manufacturers from Lobmeyr crystal to Nymphemburg porcelain. At his store and workspace—his studio is tucked away upstairs—you’ll find his jewelry, porcelain, and crystal, displayed in elegant glass vitrines. You’ll also find everything that inspires him, from found seashells and butterfly displays to the work of other artisans like Gabriella Hale and Axel Russmeyer."

Have acquired a couple of earrings from Ted Muehling’s collection at different stages of my time in NY. Jewelry range from really marvelous works to affordable and delightful pieces of cute earrings. The museum-like curation and setting of the store always bring me joy and inspirations. The staffs are friendly without being too demanding, which I really like!

Ted's work is beautiful, sometimes stylized, sometimes naturalistic, and always catches the eye. For the home and the body.

Beautiful and quintessentially elegant, the storefront of Ted Muehling is filled with amazing handcrafted details, jewelry, objects, and books. I fell in love with it each time I visit; the workshop is upstairs and you can hear the sound of jewelry being made, and handmade jewelry is now very rare these days. The store has wonderful team of people, warm, unassuming, knowledgeable and friendly, they reflect Ted Muehling sensibilities. Ted Muehling, unquestionably, is an icon of modern American artist and designer.

I've been a huge fan and regular patron of Ted Muehling and one of his guest artists in particular, Gabriella Kiss for decades, and through three locations. Ted's gallery is itself a work of art, and a treat for the senses to visit. I couldn't imagine a more magical jewelry store if I tried. Treat yourself. You won't regret it.

I have adored Ted Muehling's design for the past 30 years. I have given his pearls and his earrings as gifts to my daughters, and I wear them every day myself. I imagine they wear his jewelry in heaven.

Yelp
I was so excited to finally make it to NYC and Ted Muehling's shop! The shop is lovely and the service was amazing. All of the jewelry is artfully displayed as one would expect. Our entire family are huge fans of his jewelry and it was great to be able to visit the store and peruse all of the beautiful jewelry in person vs online or satellite shops such as ER Butler.

Yelp
Exceptional does not even begin to describe the craftsmanship, design and style of his work! We adore the candlesticks and egg shaped vases, they are grouped everywhere throughout the house, making a statement! Just exceptional!

Yelp
Beautiful things, legendary. Terrible sales staff service. My wife and I there yesterday, only customers in store, to purchase pair of earrings we saw on their website. Ignored by a desultory clerk on phone who turned her back when she saw us (for a good 5-6 minutes) as we looked for help. Saw bored sales staff of 2 wandering around. Finally, caught one's reluctant attention. Didn't go well. Ugh. I mean, who wants to buy a pair of earrings from people like these. We left. The store lost the sale and us, customers who have bought/spent a lot there over the years. For the big money they charge they should be taught better and know better. Someone ought to tell Ted.

Yelp
We came here to buy B a gift - not my style, but supposedly when I wanted to get some David Yurman for B, B2 said B ONLY wears Ted Muehling. Yeah, we got some dainty earrings for B.

Yelp
Designs are fantastic - elegant, simple and beautiful. You should know that already. I have been a fan for a few years. The shop is really neat as well. Sort of museum like. Also a little like someone found an abandoned small warehouse and dropped a bunch of neat looking stuff in it. Staff strikes the very difficult balance between friendly and accessible and downtown cool. But what really moved me to write is a phenomenal customer service experience I just had (and trust me I know as I am a journeyman in high end retail). I purchased a ring from T.M. about a year ago. Important to note that it was beautiful and functioned perfectly. But I decided for my own not especially rational reasons that I wanted to wear it on a different finger. I went into the shop to see if the ring could be re-sized. The difference was +2 sizes which given the nature of the ring was way too much to do and maintain the design integrity of the ring. This is the sort of thing that a store like this takes seriously. I was not overly surprised and respected this as I respect that this is an artisanal business rather than just one moving luxury commodities. However, the craftsperson who was working with me told me that Mr. Muehling was in the workshop, had looked at the ring himself (and yeah this did give me a bit of a nerdgasm) and wanted me to be completely happy with my ring. So they offered to take it back at the full value for which I had purchased it and would sell me the brand new ring that did fit with me only paying the difference (significantly more gold so justifiably higher price). Going back to my retail background. I know that a lot of big retailers do this sort of thing. But I think there is a misperception that due to mark-ups this isn't a big cost. The truth is that if an item can't be re-sold (and the likely scenario is that my ring was not re-sellable and would be melted down to be used elsewhere) the retailer at a minimum loses any profit they would have made from that item and often even more. So we are just doing it in the hopes of future business from you. In the case of an independent like Ted Muehling the costs for this sort of generosity are even more significant as it isn't spread out over the sort of volume that a multi-store retailer has. Also, the possible benefit of future purchases is less assured due to the nature of the product (i.e. how much jewelry does one person purchase). So besides being blown away by the beauty of the pieces, I am completely blown away by this experience and wanted to express my thanks by trumpeting the virtues of Ted Muehling. I would say that this will result in my future business, but frankly I already loved the brand, have bought more than one item both for myself and as gifts, and would have continued to do so in the future even if this hadn't happened. But seriously Yelposphere, get out of the mass retailers once in a while and experience what buying from a true independent craftsperson can really be like.

Yelp
Great shop, excellent, understated design. Pricey but worth it. Trendy chic, the designs are unique. They are sophisticated statements. You will never regret spending money here!

Yelp
3.5 stars. I really don't have a rating for this place - the lightening and surroundings do a lot for the products - its possible the products on their own do a lot for themselves, but I am not in a position to know. The ambiance is soothing and well lit/.decorated. The jewelry is simple. The prices are higher for what to some may look like a simple stone -(I get that an uncut diamond is by no means simple) by high I mean several thousands, but it depends on what you choose. I mention that since the prices are not listed on the website. Purchases most likely range in the several hundreds to thousands.

Yelp
Great selection- beautiful pieces. Woman who helped me wasn't the nicest. She didn't say hardly a word to me when I picked up a piece for someone and did not seem the least bit interested in speaking with me. No hello. No have a great day. Really no words exchanged at all. She just looked at me and handed me the piece I was picking up. Perhaps I wasn't a worthy customer.

Yelp
If you're in the "know" you won't be able to get enough of Ted Muehling and his designs, he also carries some other designers like Gabrielle kiss, so there's other styles to choose from if you aren't into his aesthetic. As for his jewelry, it ranges from $140-220 for his simple earrings to around $4,000-6000 for his diamond or gem encrusted gold Queen Anne's lace earrings. Everything is infused with his subdued elegance and simplicity. The woman who helped us was nice and they even offered to replace the 14k posts for 18k bc of my metal allergy to some types of 14k gold. I am subtracting a Star bc some of their most beautiful pieces are only available in gold- like the seaweed necklaces or Appleseed necklace, making them very expensive. It would've been nice if they had some of those styles in materials more affordable like sterling silver, but all in all, beautiful pieces and a lovely store

Yelp
Pieces made for and by the shop are exceptionally crafted and beautiful. I stopped in to purchase a Christmas present for my mother. The lady who helped me was gracious and courteous, taking extra time to help me choose the right piece. Make this a top destination to buy things for yourself or that special someone. Neither you or they will be disappointed. Prices range from low hundreds to several thousand dollars. There is something for everyone.

Yelp
Special things - some even beautiful in their simplicity - all inspired by the natural world. Unfortunately, the people are negative and arrogant which creates bad karma. Too bad.
