"Cap off your trip to the North Shore with a slice or three of chocolate haupia pie at Ted’s Bakery. There’s a reason Ted’s is always mentioned in conjunction with the North Shore and you should believe the hype — this is chocolate-coconut-whipped-cream euphoria. Ted’s also serves traditional Hawaiian plate lunches and a long list of sandwiches. Grab a seat at a roadside picnic table — the lack of view means nothing will distract you from your pie." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Outstanding restaurant. Staff is friendly and efficient at taking orders. We came here twice for breakfast and once for lunch. Service and the food did not disappoint. Service was fast each time and food came out fresh and piping hot. Fried rice, omelettes and lunch plates are top notch. Mixed plates are a very good offering if you’d like to try two or three of the menu items during lunch time with an included slice of pie. BBQ Ribs, Garlic and Spicy Shrimp are delicious. The Strawberry Guava and Bavarian Peach pies are delicious. Highly recommended.

Huge portions and excellent flavors! All the donuts were excellent. The cinnamon roll was meh. Too much dough, almost like a cinnamon sweet bread. The Denver Omelet was huge and packed full of flavor, cheese, and veggies. Potatoes were nice and crunchy. Pancakes were fluffy and sweet enough you don’t need syrup. Egg sandwich was huge as well, packed full of goodness. Total North Shore beach vibe, lots of outdoor seating. I do want to add, the staff seemed grumpy. Maybe that’s the vibe there, but not sure. The lady helping us also could barely understand me and vice versa. She wasn’t very helpful. But we did get our order correctly. Put it on your Hawaiian to do list.

I understand why this is such a draw. The food looks so so, but when you taste it, it brings you home - it's pure comfort food all the way. Although most of the people are tourists, locals also make a fairly large group (they bike or walk there), which is an indication of how good the food is. Light meals this is NOT. The servings are huge, so you will struggle to consume it all - most of us have to take the rest with us for later. The burgers were okay, so stick with the Hawaiian plates. Hawaiian cuisine is based on starch and protein (but they have brown rice!!!!) so it hits the spot rather than sandwiches and the bread. The baked goods are excellent - they are light and not sooo sweet, which fits the Asian taste buds (but the fruit of the island makes up for the sweetness). Our party was only visiting - but they demanded a second trip for the baked goods (it was that good!). However the location is a bit dingy - the bathrooms were on a separate adjoining lot and not well kept. You must take out the food (no indoor seating) and don't be surprised that all they have are picnic tables right outside. Lines to order for the food are long. Parking is tight (due to the high demand for the food.) The service was meh - all they want is your order and then move on to the next customer. That said, the people at the counter looked exhausted and it was only 11 am! However, their gift and souvenir section was clean and well stocked, so if you must buy a shirt or other items, be sure to have someone wait in line for the food before you go shopping (so you can ring up the selections at the same time as the food order.) Still a must go location!

Very popular bakery on the north shore. We only had the chocolat covered croissant, but it was very good! Lots of places to sit, lots on the menu, clean place. Highly recommended!

Teds Bakery offers some delicious mixed plate lunches, loco moco, breakfast options from macadamia nut pancakes to various omelettes. Great option for breakfast or lunch if you plan to visit one of the north shore beaches. Whatever you eat, must also get one of their sliced pies. Best option is chocolate haupia pie. Other flavors are strawberry guava creme pie, chocolate macadamia nut, peach, blueberry, regular chocolate, etc.

Our tour guide brought us here for lunch and it was really good. The prices are not bad for Hawaii. My boyfriend had the mahi mahi sandwich and it was good. I had the grilled cheese and was a little disappointed they use processed cheese slices instead of real cheese but the bread was good. There are some gifts and souvenirs inside and they sell gift cards. There is a public bathroom.
