Ted’s Bakery - Review - Oahu - The Infatuation

"Ted’s Bakery is a plate lunch destination. The takeout counter attracts lines daily for their heaping katsu plates, charred BBQ short ribs, and loco moco. And while the savory stuff is all great, you’re really here for the chocolate haupia pie. The wiggly dessert is well worth any time spent sitting in highway traffic—it’s velvety, creamy, and finished off with squiggles of airy whipped cream. Sitting at one of the picnic tables with a whole pie all to yourself is a peak North Shore activity." - Julia Chen

Seclusion, Surf, and Shrimp on Oahu's North Shore

"Cap off your trip to the North Shore with a slice or three of chocolate haupia pie at Ted’s Bakery. There’s a reason Ted’s is always mentioned in conjunction with the North Shore and you should believe the hype — this is chocolate-coconut-whipped-cream euphoria. Ted’s also serves traditional Hawaiian plate lunches and a long list of sandwiches. Grab a seat at a roadside picnic table — the lack of view means nothing will distract you from your pie." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Really cool local joint! I’d personally stick to their baked goods and sweets as those were downright tasty. Was a little underwhelmed by the fried rice that came with my corned beef and eggs. Desperately needed some sauce and seasoning and some more time in the wok. The breakfast sandwich could benefit from a condiment as well! The banana pancakes were perfect and we are going back for additional sweets we didn’t get to try. Super friendly service as well!

This is one of the must try places in Oahu if you have a rental car!! We went for lunch and had the pulled pork sandwich, short ribs, and barbecue chicken. Each of the plates came with macaroni, which was delicious very creamy! As for pies and sweet treats, we ordered the chocolate cream pie, the coconut cream pie, the pineapple, macadamia cheesecake and a raspberry filled doughnut. You cannot go wrong with anything that you order in terms of dessert. All of it is delicious. This will add to your happiness. Tables are outside and space for parking is decent.

I stopped by Ted's Bakery on my way down from the North Shore after hearing great things about it. The staff was helpful and friendly. I ordered the Loco Moco along with a side of Spicy Garlic Shrimp. My family ordered the Chicken Katsu w/ the regular Garlic Shrimp. The Loco Moco was really good with 2 beef patties, sunny side up eggs, and a nice gravy. The beef was fresh and had a nice beef flavor. The Spicy Garlic Shrimp was pretty amazing! The Shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was buttery, creamy, and nicely spiced. The Garlic Shrimp was also amazing if you don't like spice. This is a great spot to grab lunch or dinner whether you're heading up or down the shore.

Google
Yummy place! All the meals come with your choice of a piece of pie. The pie was just alright, but the garlic shrimp we got was great! It was pretty empty when we went so food came out fast, but it gets packed. Most searing is outside

Yaasss Ted’s Bakery! 🤗 I was exploring the east side of Oahu when I passed the bakery. At first, I was not going to turn around but something said stop and check the reviews. I did! Glad I did! Everything I bought was so delicious! The Pineapple Macadamia Nut Cheesecake was beyond delectable. It was fresh, I could distinctly taste every ingredient. I also bought the day old pastry bag. It had the pecan roll and 2 danishes and 2 other pastry. So good!

Visiting the North shore during our 2025 Oahu trip, we ended up at Ted's Bakery. This is definitely a place where the locals go as it was busy the whole time we were there. We ordered the Ted's Bento, the BBQ Short Ribs and a guava cake. They were very flavorful plates with adequate portions. Service was good but since it was so busy the service was a little slow. It didn't help that we went there on a weekend. So that explains the volume of visitors.

Google
Haupia chocolate pie is why we came but we ended up also trying the blueberry cheesecake and bread pudding. All 3 were yummy and delicious. Line was long and took forever but its because people just cant decide what they want until they get to the front and then sit there for 5-10 minutes to decide. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Google
Stopped here on the side of the road as I seen how good the pies were on tiktok. It was delicious!! About 330 calories for the small slice. I wanted chocolate peanut butter but they were out of it.

Yelp
TL:DR; Good food, quick service (even though the line can be long), plenty of seating, accepts Apple Pay, FREE slice of cake or pie when you purchase a Special Plate Lunch. Born and raised on the island, visiting this place is a normal go to when driving around the island. Every time I come here, I always get either the Loco Moco or the two choice plate. Can you believe there's even a three choice plate? If you're visiting here for the first time, the parking lot may seem a little small, but there is parking a little further in the back, too. If you've never had a Loco Moco, it's basically a plate lunch with a bed of rice, their famous homemade hamburger patty, two eggs, and a scoop of mac salad, covered in brown gravy. Now, for those of you who are from Oʻahu and are familiar with the old Kakaʻako Kitchen, their homemade hamburgers taste very similar -- which was one of my favorite places to go to in town. After ordering your food, they will give you a pager to let you know when your food is ready. You can choose to eat outside on one of the picnic tables under a large tent, or you could drive up the road to Sunset Beach, park your car and enjoy the view. Either way, this is a great place to stop at when heading to North Shore.

Yelp
Everything we've tried while in O'ahu was excellent! My favorite was the fried rice special, first time we went, i got the Portuguese sausage but it was only like 5-6 slices lol. So the 2nd time we ordered work corned beef hash and it was sooo delish! the ube filled glazer was good too, not too sweet. I would've preferred my waffle to be more well done aka crispy lol but it was good overall. The line can get long so be mindful of that, they have a parking buy most people park on the dirt by the side of the road. I wish i could've tried their pies but we didn't have enough time so that gives us an excuse to go back :)

Yelp
10/10, totally worth the drive from Waikiki. This pie? Hands down the BEST I've ever had. The crust just crumbles in your mouth, the passion fruit doesn't overpower, and the cream? Melts like a dream. Not too sweet--just the right balance in every bite. The garlic shrimp rice plate? Butterlicious! Way better than Giovanni's or Jenny's. Imagine fresh Parmesan on top of garlic drenched in melted butter, soaking into shrimp perfection. The portion size? Was just the right amount! Service was quick, even with a line out the door. I just wish SF had a pie this good! Only outdoor seating, though, and fair warning: the birds are on a mission to join your meal. They're bold, they're persistent, and they don't believe in personal space. But hey, other than that, it's an amazing experience!

Yelp
MUST TRY!!!!! we got the famous pie and it just melts in your mouth.... it was well worth the drive and will definitely recommend this spot to anyone traveling to Oahu!

Yelp
Ted's Bakery is a local restaurant in Haleiwa that specializes in pies and other Hawaiian goodies. They have won first place for many years in a row for the best of Hawaii. For the food, I would give it 3/5 stars. Food: We ordered the loco moco and chicken katsu. Our friends ordered the slices of pie but I was too full to try the pies. The loco moco was good but did not excite me. The chicken katsu was also standard and didn't have too much meat. Most of it was breading, but the portion sizes were generous! Next time, I'll have to try the pies, which is what they're known for. Service/Ambiance: There are tables outside to dine at. The cashiers were helpful and friendly. Overall, I left underwhelmed, but don't think it was a fair assessment of what they're known for, which are the pies. I will return but won't be ordering food from them.

Yelp
Ted's Bakery in Sunset Beach has a new, renovated look. Also, there is now a tasteful display of all Ted's brand products, including their famous pies. Serving sizes were generous like traditional Hawaiian mixed plate lunches. Without the hungry young man in our party, we probably wouldn't have been able to finish them. Our garlic shrimp was peeled and easy to eat. Seating on the shady patio under big trees across the parking lot from the restaurant was pleasant. The nearby restrooms, while conveniently located, were unfortunately disgusting. They were not kept clean, and there were no towels so everyone left the restrooms shaking wet hands. Speaking of the long wait, the addition of a buzzer system for alerting customers when their order is ready means we could sit down outside rather than having to stand up inside waiting for our order to be called. Basically Ted's Lunches include a free slice of pie or cake. But we bought different flavor extra 3 pies. That's not enough for us, we also bought 3 different flavors of pies! I may be here for this pie rather than plate lunch!

Yelp
In my opinion Ted's Bakery serves a better garlic shrimp than Giovanni's. They are however a bit further up north but if you're looking to just adventure around the island, this is the place to go. Every order also comes with a complimentary pie, which is nice but def leaves you feeling very full. There is ample amount of seating both in front of the restaurant and behind it where the restrooms are located. The restrooms however are single stalls for men and women so plan accordingly if you have to go.

Yelp
Came here for one thing and one thing only: their famous chocolate haupia pie. There's a convenient parking lot on the side of the bakery. As you walk up to the door of the bakery there are lots of picnic tables of groups eating plate meals outdoors under shade. Inside the bakery, the pie slices are in the fridges on the left and in front of you is a large case of other bakery items. I came in the late afternoon and while there were no more chocolate haupia pie slices in the fridges, the lady at the register was able to go to the back and bring out a huge box of more pie slices when I asked, including the chocolate haupia! The pie was slightly frozen when I bought it and first tried it in the car, but it was still excellent. It was not too decadent and still really hit the spot. We drove to a nearby beach to eat the pie outside and by that time the pie had fully thawed. It lived up to the hype and I'll be back to try other flavors next time.

Yelp
Clearly this place is immensely popular. We were in North Shore craving some plate lunch and as we drove by Ted's, we noticed that it didn't look like too many people. We figured perhaps a shorter line / wait time. was that a mistake. But we'll come back to that. First the food... it's good but it's not great. My kalbi was too fatty. And mac salad drowning in mayo. But all that said, portions were generous and you're dealing with laws of supply and demand. Demand is high and, on this side of the island, supply is low. Where I really have to dock it another star is the wait time. Wow. There was literally no one in line when we got there. So we walked right up and it still took over 40 minutes for our four orders; for plate lunch! I guess as newbies we didn't realize that a lot of people must order online for pickup. But still how you gonna take the better part of an hour for plate lunch?! To be fair... I didn't order any baked goods. And I know everyone says this is where Ted's is the best. Will try again (if I do just get one of those pies in Times or Foodland).

Yelp
pastries and pies are worth the wait! the food is okay, maybe a bit over rated. service was kind. it's crowded? idk it was under whelming to me though

Yelp
This place is a local legend!! You must put it on your bucket list and go!!! We love it so much we even got the chocolate macnut pie for Thanksgiving. Service is always quick and top notch! Surfer vibes that goes along with the north shore. During the weekend make sure you go early if you want to have your pick as pastries go fast!! Breakfast portions are pretty large and easy to share. We love this place and stop by often even just to have a sweet treat! You can never go wrong at Ted's!!!
google avatar

Haley N.

Yelp
TED'S! We dream about their pies and garlic shrimp! Their fruit pies (blueberry and peach and lilikoi) and their chocolate haupia are top notch. Their garlic shrimp is my personal favorite on the island, I love that it is already pre peeled and easy to eat. So their garlic butter is on the shrimp itself rather than the shell--which is how a lot of other places do it. The prices are a little steep, some of the pies can run upwards of $7 per slice. But you know, treat yoself! TIPS & TRICKS: * Lots of seating outside and great parking, get lots of spoons and share with your friends. * Head over to Sunset beach after for a nice dip in the ocean or a hike up to the pillbox, you can spend all day up here!

Yelp
Stopped here on a road trip to try to famous haupia pie. It was good, many customers were getting the pie slices to go. We also tried the macadamia nut pie and it was very good. We also tried the mahi sandwich and a burger as we were hungry. You order inside and wait for your buzzer to go off. There is seating outside, it does have a lot of birds by the tables so I don't suggest feeding them. The cashiers were friendly.

Yelp
I've been hearing about this place. Read that the chocolate haupia pie is a must try. I was driving home from a day at the beach and decided that if it was still open when we went by I'd stop. Sure enough we got there 15 minutes before they closed. I had a couple of people in line in front of me. Most of the items in the display case were gone and I didn't see the chocolate pie so I asked. She pointed me toward the cooler where I could choose from individual slices or whole pies. Boy could I have been in trouble so many varieties to choose from. I ended up getting a blueberry cream, the chocolate haupia and a slice of bread pudding. She bagged it all up and off I went with 5 minutes to spare. Got home and had to do a little taste testing. So good! I honestly couldn't pick a favorite. They were all very good. I don't think you can go wrong with anything if it's following the sampling I had of these three flavors. Enjoy!

Yelp
Ted's Bakery, especially the cream pie is a must visit for any north shore trip!! The food and lunch options are good. But it's all about the pie! Picnic area is clean and tidy! Everyone is quick and kind ! Go in and get a slice! The Chocolate Haupia pie is the most famous, but personally I love the chocolate peanut butter just a little bit more !!
google avatar

Yelp
Ted's is the whole reason why tourists even go to the North Shore. No, it's not the relaxing small town vibes, not the world famous pipeline, not the humongous waves that surfers all over the world chase. My gf told me that the only way to get Ted's pies now is to actually come to the North Shore. (Did they stop supplying grocery stores?) either way, we came in on a Monday afternoon, granted it was a long holiday weekend in Oahu, this place had a steady stream of traffic. Since it's been almost a decade since I've been here, things have changed quite a bit. There's a small area located to your right up upon walking in where they sell some bakery goods and other confectionaries and merchandise. To the left is the Refrigerated section where you can get pies, slices, etc.. My gf bought two pies: a Lilikoi and a strawberry guava. I got a Guava jam for my FIL to bring back to Germany and a slice of the chocolate macadamia nut pie. That night after dinner at home, we devoured slice on slice of Ted's pies. The strawberry guava was so fresh and a delight to the mouth. The Lilikoi one is my fave: luscious flavors of light fresh whipped cream and delicate Lilikoi on top of a buttery crust. Hallelujah. FIL loved the chocolate macadamia nut pie and said he's never tasted pie that good before! One hour drive up North from HNL and you are in pie heaven. Do it.

Gina T.

Yelp
Ted's chocolate haupia pie has been a go-to when in Hawaii for the last decade at least, but these days they have gotten so big that quality control is maybe not peak. You really have to pick through the single pies to find a good one, and I had no desire to choose anything out of the bakery cases because of all the flies in there. Service the last few times has been fine, just not friendly. They are definitely too busy. It's a great location and I'm sure I'll still stop once a trip in the future for a beach pie.
google avatar

Chelsea P.

Yelp
Friendly service. Long line to order but it moved fast. Tip: look at the pie menu ahead of time and/or grab the slices you want from the fridge before going to the register. Go early for more options, by the time we got there the guava was sold out. Lots of covered outdoor seating. Highly recommended stopping here.
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
For the TLDR version...Come for the food & stay for the pie! To expand a bit, this spot is definitely a go-to if you find yourself in the North Shore and want some hearty Hawaiian dishes (ie BBQ, shrimp, plate lunches). After your meal, you definitely need to scoop up at minimum a slice of their famous pies. Particulary ono is the chocolate haupia pie!
google avatar

Regina L.

Yelp
Great little restaurant on the North Shore serving up delicious plate lunches! We arrived around 11:30am on a Saturday and was able to walk up to the counter to place our order without a wait. It did pick up a bit over the next 30 minutes though. I decided to get the "Special Plate Lunch" of the Three Choice Mixed Plate ($22.88) with Mahi Mahi, Hamburger Steak and the Chicken Katsu. Each Special Plate Lunch also comes with a slice of pie so I grabbed their Chocolate Haupia Pie since that's what they seem to be known for. The food was ready within 10 minutes and I was really pleased with everything we had. The Mahi Mahi with accompanying sauce was flavorful and delicious, the katsu was warm and crispy, and the hamburger steak with onions was hearty and yummy. Each plate lunch also comes with a scoop of rice and mac salad and while I'm usually not a huge fan of mac salad, I actually really liked the one from Ted's Bakery! It didn't have a heavy lingering mayo taste which I appreciated. I'm not a huge coconut fan either, but also enjoyed the slice of Chocolate Haupia pie. The crust was still relatively flaky and while, it certainly wasn't the best pie I've ever had, it was a great way to complete the meal. Portions are generous so if you don't typically have a huge appetite, you might be able to get away with sharing the Three Choice Mixed Plate. Service was friendly and I appreciated how there were picnic bench style seating outside for guests to enjoy their food.

Yelp
Spicy garlic shrimps not for the faint of hearts. Bomb.com. Better than Giovanni's. They are over rated. Just because they are famous doesn't mean there isn't somewhere better. Ted's is known for their pies, but they need to be known for their garlic shrimps as well! Please come here to try and rate yourself. There is a parking lot, which is great! A great selection of bakery items. I have not tried it all, and some merch for sale. I have only tried their Hauipua cream pie and macadamia nut cream pie. They sell single serving slices which makes it awesome! There is also a lot of bench seating under a tent. This is a must stop by.
google avatar

Andrea W.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! It is a must stop for lunch or just a slice of pie while in North Shore. Their pineapple cheesecake is to die for!
google avatar

Breanna N.

Yelp
Experience (4/5 stars): *Food: chocolate haupia pie was delicious! Wasn't too sweet, though I tasted more chocolate than haulia. Fluffy whipped cream on top, pudding texture filling inside, with hard crust *Price: ~$25 whole pie & ~$6 single slice Overall, I'd recommend coming here if you're in North Shore!
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Get here fast honey because the breakfast fried rice will sell out it's that good! Lunch specials dont start till 10:30. The donuts are BOMBS! And the staff is sweet! The places feels local and has the recognition to prove it! I can't wait to come back here when we return to Oahu!!
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Greeted by the women behind the counter when I arrived, so nice and friendly. Ordered the Mahi Mahi plate with brown rice and a green salad along with the Loco Moco with brown rice. BONUS is that my order didn't take very long, 10 min. max. Dessert: slice of the chocolate haupia pie. Everything was Onolicious and will definitely come back one more time before heading back to the mainland. I loved the option of: white or brown rice. Green salad or Mac Salad. eggs on loco moco are made to order. I didn't eat there but the tables out front were clean and plentiful along with plenty of parking. No pics, because we ate it before thinking about yelping it.
google avatar

Kirby H.

Yelp
Nice place, pies were good. Pecan pie was what you would expect from a pie place but nothing special. You will want to stick with their cream pies in my opinion. The garlic shrimp, now that's where it is at!!! My wife's favorite!
google avatar

Melissa W.

Yelp
Started visiting once a year when my family comes here on vacation. The pies are so good! The macadamia nut one is my favorite. The guava one is also really good and chocolate haupia seems to be a favorite. Never had a bad pie slice! We also usually order a breakfast plate. I've had the Portuguese sausage, spam, and eggs here, a classic Hawaiian breakfast. Recently had the loco moco. It was tasty, and we paid $.31 for extra gravy. Only reason for 4 stars is because this last visit, the pie slices we got were icy like too cold/frozen which semi ruined the texture and ease of eating. Service isn't overly friendly, but I've never had bad service. You go inside to pick pies from the fridge and order food that they make fresh for you. Then there are lots of tables outside with covering to block the sun. Definitely worth a visit when you go to the north shore!
google avatar

Joshua S.

Yelp
So the prices here were great compared to other places on the island. You get a lot for your money. The food was good but I wouldn't say great. I felt the cheese actually took away from the shrimp. The service was great. It's worth a stop if you're passing by but I wouldn't drive just to eat here. We sampled a ton of pies. The regular chocolate was best. Most were too sweet.
google avatar

Jace T.

Yelp
Warning... check your order before you pay and be ready to wait at least 30mins to get your order. Located on the north shore of Oahu, down the street from Sunsets, they have a small private lot, outdoor seating only and restrooms opposite restaurant by the pavilion next to parking lot. Spent half a Benjamin on a reg Mahi Mahi plate, Ted Bento... which we thought was a Ted's Omelette but the server didn't mention to is they don't serve the omelette during lunch he's... and a slice of chocolate Mac nut pie... and a 15% tip... I'm holding off on the 1-star rating because this place employs SOME hard working people excluding our server, who definitely didn't seem happy to see us nor work on this day on top of not informing us the Ted's Omelette wasn'tavailable and just rang us up for a Ted's bento we did t know was coming. A few other negatives... 1) no mac salad with bento 2) no katsu sauce, but made my own at condiment bar 3) Mahi Mahi was drenched in oil... bottom of plate was soo soggy I couldn't finish the last piece of Mahi and I HATE wasting food! 4) waited 30 mins while other around were waiting longer! 5) the pie was warm because we waited to eat after out plates I'll end hea and mention we won't be coming back to this location anytime in the near future! Grind On, Pau!!!
google avatar

Vivian A.

Yelp
Ted's Bakery: the place for the pies! We came here around 4pm and it was pretty crowded with the after surf crowd. We waited about 15 minutes for our food. What we swallowed: *GARLIC SHRIMP: This was pretty good. The garlic was flavorful and the shrimp were fresh. Comes with a free slice of pie (win!) *CHOCOLATE MAC CREAM PIE: This was really good. Loved the little bits of mac nuts. *STRAWBERRY GUAVA PIE: Our favorite pie hands down. The flavors just marry so well together. The OG spot in the North Shore. Get your pies!
google avatar

Akita M.

Yelp
A must stop when in the North Shore. The garlic butter shrimp was full of flavor and sauce. Definitely one of the best ones I had while in Oahu. The banana cream pie was magic in the bite. So light, fluffy, and goodness! I wish there was one near me in California. I would eat one a day!
google avatar

Kelly N.

Yelp
Best chocolate haupia pie ever! The pie had the most fluffiest and smoothest consistency. The chocolate custard was perfectly balanced and the cloud like cream was so incredible together. I'm not a big pie person but this really amazed me!
google avatar

Tommy C.

Yelp
Been coming here for over a decade. While it's been good to see the business grow, it's also sad to see it lose some its charm and quality. Shoyu chicken, loco moco, and chicken katsu have always been favorites. The consistency in quality has varied in recent visits. Chocolate haupia pie is a classic. Online QR code ordering is convenient. Sticky picnic tables and flies buzzing around is the outdoor dining vibe. Miss the old umbrella tables. Overrun with tourists during peak season.
google avatar

Judy M.

Yelp
If you go to the North Shore (Hale'iwa), don't sleep on this spot! You can even order online, ahead of time to save having to wait in a line, in person. Of course do try their award winning hopia cream pie, but we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious their plates were. We got a small Mahi Mahi and a small loco moco. My only regret was not having room for other items! They have a parking lot (seems ample), and lots of covered/shady outdoor picnic tables. We came here after visiting the North Shore beaches, before heading back to the hotel. Worth a visit if you're in the area!
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
Whenever we drive to North Shore, Ted's Bakery is a must stop. They serve breakfast and lunch but I go for their desserts. Specifically, the chocolate haupia cream pie. This is always a treat. Sometimes the lines are long but they have a refrigerator for quick service that has precut pies and pieces for quick checkout. There's picnic tables outside to eat and they have clean restrooms which makes it a nice pit stop on our drives around the island.
google avatar

Linda H.

Yelp
Hawaiian Pies anyone? The pies really are super good but why is the checkout so lacking? The process just to get the pies is to squeeze past the line and go to the left refrigerated case inside. Pick your pies. Get back in line and wait to pay. The bulk of your wait time is spent in this line. I too wish they sold them at Foodland for the convenience because they are the better tasting Chocolate Haupia Pie.
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Soooooo good! This place is soooo worth it. I dream of their good evening though they aren't known for their pies which was also fantastic. Don't miss out!
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
Heard this place had the best chocolate haupia pie and I have to agree!! 'Chocolate Haupia Pie': the chocolate and haupia part were like a thick custard, and overall very rich and smooth. I really liked the whipped cream on top, it was light, fluffy, and kind of reminded me of cool whip! Paired with the pie crust, it was so delectable!! Aside from their infamous pie, they also offer plate lunches and other pies/bakery items as well. Plenty of outdoor seating and has its own parking lot too!
google avatar

Myning C.

Yelp
Love the Choco Haupia Pie! Never checked out the actual bakery but decided to .... wow eye candy for baked goods for sure ! Pie was awesome as always but the Ladies behind the counter started using their native language to make fun when I asked for a plastic bag- although I dont understand Tagalog they kept on laughing and saying "plastic bag" in English - seriously ladies if you are gonna be cappin - find the vocab in your native language

Yelp
We came here as a suggestion from family that has come here and ones that live on the island and I wish we had known about it on previous trips! We all loved what we got and all of it tasted amazing! I got the fried rice omelet with spam and it was so good! Everything in it came together great for flavor. My husband and his little brother got the fried rice special which also tasted amazing! The fried rice here was amazing and I wish I could get the recipe! We also got a cinnamon roll before we left and oh my gosh that thing was amazing! They have a huge selection of option to pick from as well which is great! The menu also features food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner but I will say get here early because the line gets very long. They staff is super friendly as well and were awesome. They have seating outdoors as well and they are close to the beach so you can go relax after eating. I loved this place and definitely will keep it in mind and recommend to others!

Yelp
This place runs like a machine! Lunch was so delicious. Our food came out quick and fresh. My chicken Katsu was hands down the best thing we had. The loco moco had delicious flavor, but the quality of the burger wasn't the best. Either way, it was a great experience. We would be back!

Yelp
Cute bakery in the North Shore! We came later in the evening, so a lot of things were already sold out. But we got their famous Chocolate Haupia Cream Pie and Pineapple Macadamia Nut Cake. The pie had a beautiful balance of decadent chocolate and rich coconut with the lightness of the cream. It was also not overly sweet. I'm also not a huge pie person, so I probably wouldn't get it again, but for those who enjoy pie, you would like this. The Pineapple Macadamia Nut Cake was an amazing piece of cake. Truly. Cinnamonny spiced cake on the bottom with a pineapple layer, cheesecake, and another pineapple topping. Light and not heavy or too rich at all. Absolutely delicious, and I would get this again in a heartbeat. Overall, I highly recommend this bakery! They have a lovely assortment of pies, cakes, pastries, and more! And come earlier in the day before things are sold out!

Yelp
Delicious donuts, amazing cakes! I have known this for a while. But as an East side local, I had no idea they offer so much tasty food: egg sandwiches and other tasty breakfast treat! Ono!

Yelp
Solid bakery stop. Never had haupia pie before, but it was good. Their lunch plates include a complimentary slice of pie/cake. Personally, would not recommend their garlic shrimp plate, since a very different palette style to the typical shrimp plate around Hawaii. It was very cheesy (lots of Parmesan cheese) and the shrimp was soaking in a pool of butter. I'm sure their other lunch options are better... but they're also a bakery! So rating is primarily for their pie alone, not lunch.

Yelp
Todays is my sister in law birthday so decided to do the trek all the way out to north shore . I wanted to buy some Ted's pie for her birthday cake . It was overcast morning left my house around 8:30am got to Ted's Bakery around 9:25a. They open at 8:00am and it was already crowded . Lots of tourist a few local customers . Ted's Bakery located on Kam Hwy once you pass Sunset Elementary School not farther down on the Mauka side of the road is the Bakery. In the years they added table benches in front of their establishment for customers to sit and dine so you hardly can see their Teds Bakery signs . Ever since Covid they decided not to deliver their pies to the Market. So if you're craving Ted's pies you'll need to drive to the North Shore . I ordered their very popular Chocolate Haupia pie along with their blueberry cream . I also ordered their French donuts the signage showed $4.29 I asked the person at the counter if that's the price for only one piece. Luckily she responded no its 4 pieces wow! Support local whenever your in the area

Yelp
The disappearance (and reappearance) of Ted's pies from local supermarkets forced me to travel to Pupukea to visit their store. Isn't that a good excuse? I hear tell the pies run a few dollars less at the store, maybe justifying the gas it took to get here (lol). What you'll find is more than just pies, though. We didn't try their savory food, which seems to get mixed reviews here, but we did get some non-pie sweet goodies like chocolate croissants and a pecan cinnamon roll. The chocolate croissant was good and covered in a thick layer of semi-sweet chocolate. The pecan roll was about 3" thick with a nice sticky pecan topping. It went great with a cup of coffee! Yes, we did get our favorite chocolate haupia pie but we haven't gotten to it yet. I'm sure it's going to be the same glorious decadent pie we've come to expect. Service is great and speedy. You can snag a pie or a slice and just pay at the cashier. ambiance? Hey, it's the North Shore so expect outside seating in a casual atmosphere.

Yelp
Had to stop and get pie while taking family around the island. Our fave is the chocolate haupia pie but we discovered the chocolate CUSTARD pie! I think it's now our favorite now. Not only they have baked goods but they also have hamburgers and plate lunches. We got the hamburger steak plate which came with 2 scoop rice, mac salad and lots of grilled onions. I asked for the gravy on the side since I don't like my plate drowned in gravy. The hamburger was nicely done but salty! Even without the gravy. Tasted good but too salty for us. There's tables to eat at right outside the entrance but go over to the left of the building -there's shaded tables near the restrooms that people overlook. Ample parking too. A must stop for any around the island holo holo !

Yelp
Delicious pie but come early!! But the time our group had made it out to Ted's all the fresh pies were out but we were lucky enough to snag the last chocolate haupia pie from the prepackaged fridge section. And how glad we were to snag this pie! The chocolate layer was light and fluffy more mousse like while the huapia layer was like jello. Of course the combo and flakey crust made for that not over the top sweet bite. This was the perfect snack to pick up and enjoy at a beach or even at one of the many picnic tables set up outside!

Yelp
We stopped in for a snack and ended up with a guava smoothie (OMGOSH it was perfection), a slice of guava strawberry cream pie and chocolate peanut butter cream pie. We shared our goodies on the patio to end a perfect day at Sunset beach!
