Old-fashioned butcher shop and gourmet deli. The wagyu beef sandwich is delicious and I highly recommend it. Everything is fresh and delicious. Excellent cheese and meat selections.

I was looking for something quick to eat before going on a boat cruise. Ted’s Dockside is amazing! The sandwich was incredible. Staff was all very kind and attentive. There is so much in this shop that I will likely break my rule of always trying a different restaurant when I visit Charleston… because the steaks I saw looked and smelled delicious! They also give back to the community which is great!!

Great little find! We had just gotten off the ferry to Fort Sumter and were looking for a place to grab a quick lunch. A young lady overheard us trying to figure out were to go and she said Ted's was her "go-to" sandwich shop. That was all we needed to hear. We popped in and were thoroughly delighted. Everyone was super pleasant and the sandwiches were yummy! A++

Ted's always hits the nail on the head when we order catered lunches for quests. Everything is packaged neatly, labeled, and tastes amazing! Huge shout out to Ted and his staff for always being accommodating and friendly!

I gave Ted's four stars because the sandwiches we bought were amazing and exceeded my expectations. I love how they offered different types of unique drinks you can't always get in a typical restaurant. The shop was very clean and gave a very inviting environment to come and get lunch and just hangout. The service however was just OK, the cashier didn't really seem like he wanted to be there but wasn't necessarily rude. If it wasn't for the great food, I would honestly not come back. A small place like this, that attracts tourist, should be expected to have better service to match the quality of it's food. Service has always been a pet peeve of mine, which is why I may seem to be a bit harsh. I would however recommend their sandwiches.

Got the wagyu beef sandwich. Meat was tender and delicious. Blue cheese aioli was mild but perfectly applied. Bread was soft and the onions and mushrooms were also applied perfectly. Great lunch!

Fri nights are the best! They have wine tasting, a special menu, anything from the case can go on to the green egg & very friendly service! But overall it's a very cute neighborhood spot with a butcher shop, selection of cheese, wine, frozen options for meat & pasta and other accompaniments

Incredible food! We had the special which was an amazing pork loin. Hubby had an incredible T-bone that was melt in your mouth tender. We went early for the wine tasting that was $5 and went for charity. They have some amazing bacons and sausages that we brought home for later. This is my new favorite Friday night spot!!

This place is fun. From the moment you walk in the door Ted's feels like how you'd like a sandwich and butcher shop to feel. Classy, filled with all sorts of high quality meats, deli items, drinks, and even some desserts. There is a counter where you can order a variety of fresh salads and sandwiches if you are dinning in with a solid selection of choices. Indoors there is plenty of seating even on a busy day, with a cool busy downtown vibe overall. On this visit we sat outside, which is out back and could be missed if you didn't know it was there (Pro Tip!). We ordered several sandwiches and enjoyed eating on their back courtyard picnic tables. Overall, it was enjoyable experience, so we are looking forward to our next visit! Guten Appetit!

Ted's Butcherblock in Charleston is a fantastic deli offering a variety of meats, seafood, and sandwiches. I enjoyed a BLT with potato salad and a glass of rosé, and everything was delicious. The sandwich options are great, catering to a wide range of tastes. While the dining area is small, the place does a large carry-out business, making it convenient for those on the go. The staff was friendly, adding to the pleasant experience. Located near the waterfront, Ted's Butcherblock is a great option for a meal before or after a visit to the aquarium or Fort Sumter. Highly recommended!

Absolutely wonderful spot for lunch, especially when visiting the aquarium, Fort Sumter visitor center, or the international African American museum as this is within walking distance of all three. There are so many options to choose from, with wonderful sandwiches, salads etc. I had the barbecued pulled pork panini with a fruit salad side, which provided just the right mix of the tangy BBQ sauce and the sweet fruit salad. I even loved the organic iced tea, which was flavorful tea and required no additional sweetener. Pricing was very affordable averaging less than $20 per person, quite a value for all that was delivered. The location is a well-designed meat/cheese shop, and restaurant all wrapped into one, with comfortable seating and a very friendly staff. This was an excellent experience, and I would certainly highly recommend it.

This wonderful lunch spot is near the aquarium, Fort Sumter visitor center, and other museums. We decided to have lunch here between museum visits. They have salads, soups, and sandwiches. I had the Italian sandwich with a side of gouda macaroni and cheese. Both tasted great. My husband had the pulled pork panini and a fruit cup. He also loved both items. They also sell wine, cheese, meats, seafood, and desserts.

We had the wagyu beef and the pastrami sandwiches. They were a good size and very delicious! One side was fruit and the other was the chips for an upgrade price . They were delivered to our table in a timely manner.

We randomly chose this eatery for lunch. I had the Roast Wagyu Panini sandwich with fruit salad. It was so good. The spices, beef, and ciabatta bread came together beautifully. The staff was very accommodating, especially to my friend who was gluten intolerant. It's a great atmosphere for everyone from families to singles. Parking maybe tedious because of it's location but it's worth a try. I forgot to take pictures:-(

I had the Wagyu Roast Beef Sandwich with a side of Gouda Mac, and it did not disappoint. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft inside and the roast beef had an aioli spread on top. I didn't think I'd like it without cheese but it was great just how they make it.

I stopped in yesterday with a coworker for lunch. Having never been here, I have to ask myself why I've never been here. This place is a gem. I ordered the special sandwich for lunch, with a side of mac n cheese and Lowcountry Kettle chips. Root beer to wash it down. The sandwich was a spicy rotisserie chicken with jalapenos, onions, pesto, cheddar, on a ciabatta role. Each bite was perfect. This sandwich special was truly special. Taste and flavor had just enough kick but not enough to make you regret biting into it. We arrived around 1pm, and if you have flexibility to do so, do so. Getting there at peak lunch time is not advisable if you plan on sitting down to eat. They're popular and busy for good reason.

We were early for a harbour tour and wanted a bite for lunch. What a great surprise this was to find, it was a little out of the way but 10 minutes from the waterfront. The sandwiches were freshly made with real meats not deli cold cuts and the pulled pork was amazing

Everyone had a great time! Wine by the glass had we had the house white and house rosé. Both wines were light and went well with the big flavors in our sandwiches. Sausage sandwich was kind of like a big bratwurst but with so much juicy flavor and great mustard. Pickles on the side were perfect too. Enjoyed the potato salad and cole slaw as well. Everything tasted home made and fresh. A+

The only thing wrong with this place is that I'm made I haven't been here sooner! This place is amazing! Great prices! Food is so delicious! I tried the wagyu panini and Gouda Mac no complaints! I'm a picky eater on quality and everything about this- the bread, meat, blue cheese aoili, etc are sooooooooo goood. It's different, it's high quality and it's great service. Staff were super friendly. This place wasn't too crowded. And the groceries (Italian, French) meats, cheeses, pierogis, etc look so good! I def know where to buy my guanciale when I make carbonara now!

Went to the aquarium and tried to find a place for Kate lunch. Thought that the bridge run crowd might have cleared out of the Biergarten but no dice. Tried to find another place close and Ted's is a gem. Great service, great food and super friendly staff. Couldn't recommend it more and wish I was cooking steaks tonight as I would have bought some.

Ted's is my favorite butcher shop in town! They have a small market area with local products, frozen meals, and a great wine selection. The employees are super knowledgeable and always willing to help! They are quick and welcoming! This is a great place to grab a delicious lunch. There is casual seating indoor and outdoor. Some of my favorite things include the macaroni Gouda shells, pasta salad, sandwiches, and chili. They are known for having lovely Friday night sit down dinners although I have yet to attend. There is a nice restroom in the back for use. Parking can be a nightmare during lunch times but there is plenty of metered parking on the back side of the building.

Fantastic sandwiches. Had the wagyu and the caprese sandwiches. So flavorful. Would absolutely go back next time I am in town.

I mean this quite litterally when I say this, but this was not only the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had, but also one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The meat was a perfect slice and as you can see the meat to bun ratio was a perfect 10/10. The pickle slaw added the perfect amount of creaminess and acidity too the sandwich and had my tastebuds yearning for more. Don't even get me started on the smoked cheese slowly dripping into my mouth. The only critique I have is that it was a salty cut and the pickle makes the sandwich a little more salty, so if you aren't a fan of salt then take this comment with a grain of salt. Otherwise this is the go to item on the menu no questions asked

Honestly the best steaks in town. The Friday night specials are always good too. Prices are very fair on food and bottles of wine. Love, love, love Ted's.

Great food! Quaint setting with friendly staff. Ordered the BLT and was not disappointed, thick cut bacon, fresh greens fresh tomatoes on a ciabatta bun.. I would highly recommend!

We stopped in after we had a disappointing cancellation of our ferry trip to Fort Sumter due to weather. This spot is a combination deli and butcher shop so don't expect ambience. The sandwiches we ordered were delicious and large. The pastrami was made in shop and it took 3 weeks to complete the process. They are known for their beef sandwiches which was medium rare, the way I ordered it. If we are ever back in Charleston, we would stop by here again.

Tomato bisque was awesome. Bought a quart for dinner tonight. Loved the atmosphere and the cheese selection

My mission was to come specifically for the Butcher Shop to fulfill a gift card I had received quite a while ago. Located on East Bay adjacent to a convenient parking lot with lots of other shops and offices near by. Perfect. The Butcher Shop also has an eat in option which surprised me and for which I will return. The butchers are numerous, working behind the counter to ensure your preferred cut of meat is perfect. They have a huge selection of varying types of meat and sausages, chicken to duck, game, pâtés. It truly is a cook's delight here. And if you are unsure about anything the butchers are eager to help. Definitely worth the trip downtown and I will definitely return to restock!!

Great food....best deal in Charleston. The only downside is the only serve dinner on Friday night.

Awesome addition to any neighborhood!! Incredible selection of specialty meats, cheeses, fresh pates, and seafood. I cannot recommend this unique lunch spot highly enough. AND if you see it in the case, they will cook it for you. I was especially excited to see items from south Louisiana!! What?!!!!

Yum! This was a recommendation from the guy who owns Gale's restaurant. I ordered Small custom chopped salad and the sandwich of the month! Omg amazing. Turkey, cranberry Mayo, celery slaw!

OMG! The March featured special of corned beef and cabbage on rye was the best! So tasty and delicious. My husband got the bbq pulled pork and said it was tangy and loved it. It's off the beaten path with locals, not tourists. We thought it as well worth the walk. Nice ambiance and friendly.

Strip steak was excellent. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Caesar salad nice size for sharing. Definitely would recommend. Close to hotel (Hilton Liberty)

This is a cute place downtown, next to East Bay Deli. My friend took me here after raving about how good it was. We ate lunch. I was craving a hotdog (which I was originally planning to order at the other place we had planned to go to) and was happy that they had one on special for that day (i.e., they don't serve them everyday). I ordered a hotdog, a San Pellegrino drink from the fridge, and loaded potato salad. My friend ordered a sandwich with macaroni and cheese. The place is pretty expensive for a quick lunch, but it's reflective of the quality of the food. My hotdog was good, but not the best I've ever had. I didn't love the chili on my hotdog, but there was nothing wrong with it - just my preference. It was more of soup chili with beans and not "hotdog chili." The loaded potato salad was delicious, and it would make a great side dish at any party or dinner event. My friend's chicken and parmesan sandwich was absolutely delicious, and at the same time, it is something that could be purchased (or made) at most sandwich shops. The macaroni and cheese was also good - cheesy and creamy - but needed to be heated up a little more. All in all, I really liked this place. I don't think that I will ever go out of my way to go here again, but I would not refuse or complain about coming here if someone else wanted to take me. I say give it a shot. If you live downtown or otherwise nearby, I think it would be a great place to have meetings with some charcuterie and beer.

I had the beef sandwich, which was pretty dang good. It came with the world's smallest cup of mac and cheese, but that's okay because it's meant to just be a side. I'm not sure if we met the original Ted or not, but I am of the assumption that everyone in there was named Ted, which is neat. I hope to one day return and try the Italian sandwich as I am Italian.

Stopped here while killing some time and hunger pains before heading to the Ft. Sumter tour nearby. Overall I like this place, but my sandwich was tough to deal with - in a literal sense. We ordered at the counter, with my choice being the wagyu beef panini. I can say I didn't read that it had mushrooms - so I had to scrape them off which is my fault. However, the beef was inedible. The gristle outnumbered beef pieces, ans I found one bite meant pulling all the beef off the sandwich- chewy and crunchy with all the gristle that ruined the sandwich totally. I liked the bleu cheese aioli on it. The sides of potato salad and cole slaw were very well done - full of flavors But the meat again ruined this for me. Cool place - staff is great and friendly

I ordered a beef tenderloin and salmon for a party recently and both were cooked to perfection and everyone raved about them! We also have ordered sandwiches and sides and have never gotten anything less than delicious. So happy to have such a great place in our town!

Ted's is a great butcher located off of East Bay Street. I haven't eaten there for a meal but have always picked up meat to grill later. I didn't give it 5 stars because honestly while the service is great, the meat never seems worth the exorbitant price you pay. They have a deli that you can order sandwiches and sides (a lot of "to go" and pickup orders) as well as the butcher where they will cut meat up for you. Always fresh, very friendly, but be prepared to drop a lot of money to buy even basic meat.

Finest selection of meat in town. Cannot overstate the deliciousness of the steaks. Ted and crew are the best!

If you haven't eaten at Ted's then you are clearly failing at life. The food here is so good that sometimes I want to shake the table or pick up my plate and eat it faster. And don't even get me started on Esther ~ she is without doubt the Queen of Ted's ~ always kind, always so thoughtful and can pick out the most delicious wine for any occasion. Friday nights at Ted's is a little piece oh heaven. Put this one on your list NOW!

Wow, what a find, in Charleston!. There was a fair amount of people having lunch, servers were busy, friendly, attentive. We actually went in for some pancetta which was rather difficult to find elsewhere. But we found it here, they were able to cut exactly what we needed, they wrapped it up. And we were out the door in no time. I would definitely stop by here for lunch, as food looks wonderful.

We both the Wagu Roast Beef sandwiches, Blue Cheese aioli, mushrooms with fruit. Choose from Cole slaw, fruit, potato salad, with your sandwich. Cold drink but not cups or ice only cans or bottles. They have meat and seafood market inside.

I had a great experience at Ted's. I ordered the bacon jam burger and was not disappointed. This place is unique because my burger was cooked to order on the green egg out back. Not many places around here do that sort of thing.

There were three of us today. Two loved their sandwiches, an Italian and a roast beef sub. I did not. I got the veggie panini. They shredded carrots, yellow squash and zucchini and then sautéed it. Unfortunately that technique released a ton of liquid onto the bread leaving the too half of the focaccia crispy and delicious, and bottom half a soggy mess. Also, the veggie mixture was so over salted it was inedible. I would definitely go back, but I wouldn't get the veggie panini. The potato salad however was worth the trip!

This place is delicious and have so many different options. From meats, fish, sandwiches, wine, cheese, to pre made picnics they leave everything a foodie could ask for. I will say the meats are a little expensive compared to other butcher shops in Charleston so if you're looking for high quality with the high prices this is your place. Great overall and the sandwiches are also superb!

Great spot for a quick lunch! We stopped here while on vacation before going on the Fort Sumter tour. You order at the counter and get your food pretty quickly so great if you are short on time. I got the Waldorf chicken salad sandwich which was really good with a side of Mac and cheese which was served cold which was odd but good. People with me got a lot of the smoked meat. We saw the cook out back on our way in and I believe all their food is super fresh. They also had free water out in the middle of the restaurant. There is plenty of seating and they also sell items to bring home and make. Would come back again if in the area

So good and reasonably priced. Shared surface lot for customer parking that was was busy, people were idling waiting for a spot. I can't wait to come back and try other sandwiches!

We had meatballs, BLT, and a Greek salad. They were all delicious! Probably the best BLT I've had! The Mac and cheese was good also as the side to my sandwich. I would definitely recommend!

I got the Capri sandwich with a side of mac and cheese, and it was very good. The city area is clean and all the workers are very friendly. With a variety of meals to try on the menu this place is definitely worth a visit for anyone in the area.

We ordered Thanksgiving turkeys from them with some sides and gravy. Food was delicious!! Ordering was a major hassle. I called 4 times to place an order and they were too busy to take my order every time. They asked if they could call back, which they did but I missed the first call . . . regardless it was a hassle. When we got there for pickup they had my name wrong! They found my order and all was good. We will use them again and I'd love to try a sandwich or two, but maybe we'll go there to order. We'll definitely be back in spite of the hassle.

Went here on a recent visit to Charleston but have definitely been here before during my previous time in Charleston. This time around we have covid restrictions so slightly different. Nonetheless, I helped myself to a delicious glass of rose and order a curried chicken salad for lunch. The chicken salad was soooooooooo good. I sat in the corner with my computer, a water, and my food and drinks. There is so much more to enjoy about this place (great cheese selection) but I will have to do that next time. Definitely check out this place for lunch if you are in the area!

A deli and a butcher shop along with eat-in tables. They do dinner and also catering. Had the Pastrami sandwich, bread was very thick. Pastrami a little too fatty for my taste. All in all a good experience. Fresh food, good prices, a smile by all. Wife had the chicken sandwich, loved it, she too said there was too much bread. All a matter of taste. This is a must try. Next time, I will bring home some deli meats. Frank G

I read the reviews and was really excited to try this place. I ordered the veggie panini and the hubs got the waygu sandwich. My favorite thing between those two was actually the potato salad that came with it. The potato salad had good dill flavor. The mac and cheese side is served cold, it's not bad, but who ever raves about cold Mac and cheese? The sandwiches, in my opinion, were both overwhelmed by the flavor of caramelized onions. I love caramelized onions, but this was just too much and none of the other flavors were strong enough to come through. Totally edible, but nothing I really care to try again.
