Dallas Restaurant Openings to Know in February 2025 | Eater Dallas

"A pair of chefs who met while working at the notorious and beloved East Side dive bar Lakewood Landing opened a tacos-and-barbecue takeaway-only spot that also offers “killer cookies and baked goods.” The founders say their real goal is to practice and build toward landing a presence at the State Fair of Texas." - Courtney E. Tejas BBQ + Tacos

This place is a hidden gem! The service and food are both phenomenal. Those brisket tacos are mouth watering. The potato salad was made fresh not store bought. Homemade indeed. But the star of the show was the brisket biscuit! Man when I bit into it I rubbed my feet together! Lol I was having a true fat boy moment! The brisket was warm and flavorful. The eggs were fluffy and the biscuit was soft and fluffy and homemade! The cinnamon roll was exquisite! Fresh and hot! This place has wowed me. Money well spent! This is my go to spot when I’m looking for quality home cooked food!

The brisket sandwich was delicious and my personal favorite. I would even call it their go-to on the menu. They certainly know how to smoke a brisket. Unfortunately, the Triple D (brisket-beef patties) burger was alright. The secret sauce was okay, but I didn’t like the blend of beef with brisket altogether. It’s new and untraditional, so it’s a view into the pitmaster's mind, which I must respect. The tinga was good, but I'd prefer it to be on tostadas instead of a corn tortilla. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, the buns were soft, and the spicy barbecue sauce was to my liking. Overall, I highly recommend this Tex-Mex barbecue adventure for my fellow foodies.

Everything is delicious and worth it. The cinnamon roll and jalapeño-bacon corn cookie are phenomenal! Service is on point! Great service and chill vibes too. I am looking forward to going back for their lunch menu.

Stopped at Tejas Brisket Co. while passing through downtown Dallas and WOW — this place DELIVERED. I got ½ lb smoked brisket, ½ lb smoked pork sausage, mac & cheese, cornbread, potato salad, and Coke Zeros, and every bite was solid — but let’s talk about the stars. The brisket was unreal. Perfectly tender, insanely juicy, and packed with flavor. It pulled apart effortlessly and honestly didn’t even need sauce — but the BBQ sauce they serve? Tangy, slightly sweet, and absolutely addictive. And the cornbread… OMG. Moist, sweet, soft, and straight-up dangerous. It was so good I went back and grabbed two more pieces just to take with me. Hands down some of the best cornbread I’ve ever had. The sausage was juicy and flavorful, the mac & cheese was super cheesy and creamy, and the potato salad was a great classic side to round everything out. I’m from Los Angeles, CA, and I had high expectations for Texas BBQ — and this place did NOT disappoint. The brisket and cornbread alone are worth the stop. If you’re in Dallas and serious about BBQ, don’t skip this spot.

This place is the real deal. It’s a hole in the wall, and serves absolutely delicious tacos. Each taco comes with its own sauce, and each was incredibly flavorful and unique. Can’t recommend Tejas Brisket Co. highly enough!

The best shocker of the DFW barbecue scene: why this wonderful place doesn’t have a line out the door from open until sell-out? The value for money is astounding. Low prices. Incredible food. Brisket especially. As others have said: this is real deal bar-b-cue. It is a hole in the wall of the best variety: small, nimble, fast and clean. They serve truly delicious Texas barbecue which is purposed brilliantly into traditional plates by-the-pound, also burgers, smoked meat sandwiches and BBQ tacos. Each taco comes with homemade sauce, fresh tortillas and garnish like house pickled onions. From-scratch desserts are amazing too. Don’t miss the bacon cornbread cookie! I’ll be back for breakfast biscuits. Highly recommend Tejas Brisket Co.!

Their tacos and burgers are great. The blondie treat or whatever is fantastic. The lady who seems to run it and is at the front is very engaging and pleasant.

We stumbled upon this place and thought to give it a try, 10/10!! I got the taco combo (chicken, brisket, and sausage) with the Mac n cheese. Everything just hit every taste bud. My husband got the triple d burger combo with potatoe salad and it was the best brisket burger I’ve ever had! Highly recommend, the staff was amazing and so nice!
