"Tel Aviv Grill is an Israeli mini-chain with locations dotted across the Valley (including an excellent seafood-focused branch). Their flagship in Encino looks like any other fast-casual lunch counter, but the food quality stands out like a pair of Crocs at a wedding. As early as 11am, a line forms out front for shawarma, schnitzel, and skewers served with a multicolor assortment of Israeli salads and dips. You'll have a great meal here if you close your eyes and pick from behind the counter at random, but our go-to is the beef shawarma pita generously stuffed with shaved meat, garlicky yogurt, pickles, and chopped salad." - brant cox, sylvio martins

Google
Yeah, it’s a bit pricey—but I’ll always show up for good Israeli food. Everything’s fresh. The shawarma gets a solid four stars, but I’m giving them five because that pita bread, the salad, and especially the schnitzel in the baguette? Next level.

Google
Best Mediterranean food... very generous served. Reasonably priced.. got all the basic of best lunch shawarma, kobob, spicy sausage... great sauces whether spicy, tachini, or spicy mango sauce. And great cabbage ( green or red) and vegetable salad and to add the extra mile grilled jalapeño, and jabka.( yellow spicy pepper) . What a treat... although wasn't very hungry, couldn't resist to eat with great appetite. One glitch, the fried eggplant was soak with oil.. also its known to. Be like sponge for oil, there's ways to lower the vein. Blocker on the veg... Yet overall am amazing treat on a cold, long day.

Google
Tel Aviv Grill's smaller Valley Village space makes up with bigger delicious flavor. Fresh quality ingredients ensures that menu choices are winners. The French fries, fried eggplant and pickles — ADDICTIVE.

Google
If it's not obvious by the photos, Tel Aviv is quality matched with authenticity. Getting a plate full of flavor was a tidbit on The pricey side, however even if this meal cost an arm or a leg, I would happily give up my other limb for seconds. Delicious, amazing service, friendly staff, and above all, kosher! I'll be returning here anytime my family or friends come to visit!

Google
Had an amazing shawarma in pita at Tel Aviv Grill in Valley Village! The shawarma was perfectly seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. The fresh pita complemented the filling beautifully, and the generous portion of toppings made it even better. It was truly a delicious and authentic experience, and I highly recommend this spot for anyone craving top-notch Middle Eastern cuisine. Will definitely be back!

Google
The VERY best Shwarma outside of Israel!! Friendly staff, excellent food, INCREDIBLE portion sizes (I always have leftovers!!) Highly reccomend!!

Dina

Google
The food is delicious! The best shwarma I've had in a while. The store was busy when I went, but I still got my food quickly after placing my order.

Wow... This place is amazing... Everyone is great... If you've never been I suggest you go...everyone is so friendly..perfect perfect perfect. Will definitely come back anytime I'm in town.

Yelp
Yum yum yum!!! Picked up schnitzel, eggplant, Schwarma, rice and Israeli salad for ten. Juan who is professional and cheerful was tremendously helpful in guiding me with proportions and selection. So happy there were leftovers which are now nestled safely in the freezer for a lunch or two. Worth the drive from La Canada to Valley Village. Food well packed, popped the food into the oven on warm, and when guests arrived they gleefully devoured the crispy schnitzel and Schwarma! Next time I'll order more Tahini as I plan to drizzle it on everything!!! I'll ask for the rice and eggplant to be packed in foil container not plastic so that it can be popped into oven too

Yelp
food: schwarma chicken its toooo salty oily service: people working here they got bad attitude they dont smile ambiance: to crowded

Ryananohel N.

Yelp
i come here a few times a month, never disappointing. Delicious, great service. I usually get the Shawarma , it's good either on a plate or laffa/pita

Dan B.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for a long time. The quality has gone down drastically this past year. Service isn't good. They got my order wrong a few times and I never complained. Last time I said something, they told me they would issue a credit for the order and never did. When I called regarding this issue they claimed they never said that and was only willing to offer me extra salads and fries. Why would I need extra fries or salads when I wanted a chicken order to be credited as they originally said they would. Very unprofessional to lie to a customer over a 25$ order. I guess they don't care about retaining good customers.

Barbara C.

Yelp
If you've ever had to eat terrible meat and be kept in a room that's dirty and small, this is the place you want to go.

Melanie P.

Yelp
I love going there when I am craving shawarma. They make it so good and it's always hot and made on the spot. It's always so lively inside and I love the smells. Very nice workers and service is great. Usually take to go and they are not greedy with the portions of food. Would recommend to visit because it tastes amazing.

Tim T.

Yelp
Food is delicious, fresh and made with love. I haven't been so impressed with the overall cleanliness and care as well as quality of food. This place is a keeper. Very kind service. Everything looked fresh and amazing. We got a couple falafel wraps. The spicy sauce is no joke I can't wait to go back for more. Thank you for restoring my faith in falafel. If I could give them ten stars I would.

Lynnette S.

Yelp
It took visitors from Boston to introduce us to this amazing hole-in-the wall restaurant. We have been there twice now. Not much in ambiance but boy was the food delicious. The last time we took out but today we stayed and had 1 plate of Rib-eye, 1 rib-eye in a pita, 1 chicken thigh plate, and 1 chicken thigh pita. We enjoyed every bite. Excellent service. The only problem is parking but that's not going to stop us from returning.

Adam R.

Yelp
Great Mediterranean food, large portions, friendly staff - can't ask for more ! Parking lot isn't fun but it's worth it.

Kian A.

Yelp
Service was cold and unwelcoming, and the food was straight up awful. $30 for a plate of tough, chewy beef, greasy eggplant, and by far the worst hummus I've had in years.

Art M.

Yelp
They always have fresh ingredients, which is the main reason for our visits. Service is always top notch, and the dinning area gets wiped down constantly. I can describe this place with two words consistent and clean!

Ana R.

Yelp
The best shawarma in Los Angeles Live the fries and the fried eggplants. Staff is friendly and serve the food pretty quickly

Manny S.

Yelp
Friendly l service, beautiful setting with lots of light and very clean. The pesto, avocado sandwich was delicious.

Lilian M.

Yelp
I wish that I could give this restaurant a higher review, but unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience. My family and I come here often for Dinner and it's always great. The food is amazing. They are big portions so two people can share one plate. They also have the Kings Table which is one flat price for each person and they give you EVERYTHING! My family and I went for Lunch to Encino and this one cashier/waitress definitely was not trying to go to work that day. She was rude and inconsiderate. She was practically yelling at us for every move we made. We were ordering and she told us to hurry up and then my girlfriend put her bag on the counter for a second to get money out and she yelled at her to put it down and then she yelled at us to move because there were people in line behind us when there clearly wasn't anyone behind us. Then she yelled at us to move because she was trying to put her wallet in her purse. She brings down the whole restaurant, which is the reason I gave the three stars. On a brighter note though, everyone who makes the food and serves the food is amazing. The people behind the counter take care of you very well. If you haven't been, you should go. Just be aware of this cashier(Picture attached)

Mark G.

Yelp
A bit pricey but fantastic food and quantity. If getting a plate I recommend splitting it between 2 people. It's a lot of food!

Mary B.

Yelp
I love the food here! I don't know why it took me so long to write a stellar review for this neighborhood joint? I ordered takeout after grueling day of work. Definitely come here if you're hungry! I ordered the chicken skewer plate with 2 salad sides, and it comes with fries, sauces, and eggplant. The chicken was perfect! The eggplant was a little greasy, and the salad sides were delicious--especially the red cabbage. There's so much food that I'm about to have leftovers for lunch today. I paid about $29, including a takeout tip for the meal.

Andrew C.

Yelp
THE BEST!!!!!! I can't go to Israel every day for Falafel & Shawarma, so I come here to get my fix! This is the best I've ever had outside of Israel.

Lala R.

Yelp
Delicious food. Fair prices. I love the chicken schnitzel and salads (Israeli, red and green cabbage)

Christine V.

Yelp
Really good and fresh fast food but not fast food (if you know what I mean). I wouldn't suggest to eat there since the space is tiny and usually so crowded. Also, parking is horrible but the FALAFEL!

Johann D.

Yelp
Nice little spot we recently tried for takeout. Not sure how long they have been here but I believe there was a similar place in that spot before that we tried once and did not come back to. Tel-Aviv though is another story. Totally enjoyed the food we bought. Nice selection of sides and the portions were great, we shared the feast amongst three people. As far as the take out order there was an issue with the ordering system and the descriptions not being clear enough, it looked like one item was missed based on what was described and what we got. However again because of the amount of food we got it ended up being fine. I think next time I'll try to order in person and ask what all the nuances of their ordering system means so we know for next time. It's all good especially since we liked their food.

Pat D.

Yelp
My order was wrong and I did not like the food very much. It just was disappointing and it wasn't very flavorful and it was super soggy.

julie s.

Yelp
Amazingly good! We ordered a breakfast and a lunch and multiple sides all family style- couldn't even come close to finishing it all. The whole tilapia was the star, with a tangy green sauce. Pita was so fluffy, you had to scrape it off the ceiling! Tarzana is a long way from home for us, but I'd dine at this strip mall gem in an instant!

George N.

Yelp
Food was cold, and not tasty. The fries were cold and the service was not good. Cashier.

Kevin B.

Yelp
Place is pretty bad ass. Me and my girl were here a few weeks ago. I used to live in the Valley. I never heard of these guys. We went to get our Tel Aviv food on. I ordered 2 Chicken and Beef Falefel plates for 3 people. Food was really good here. I like the salad and all with natural flavors. The meat has a nice Kosher feel and taste. Nice staff and owners. Nice place here. We will be back on our next trip.

Mariam P.

Yelp
Food is great but this location is not like the Encino location. It is very small, not a lot of room to sit. It's also not in the best area. If you want to dine in I'd suggest the Encino location but if you just want to get some food on the go, then I don't see why not go here! Service was also great. Very nice workers.

Vlad Y.

Yelp
BE AWARE THE FALAFEL THEY MAKE CONTAINS EGGS Been there 2 times. Stopped by a few months ago and the lady who works there told that falafel is vegan, so I ordered one. Yesterday, we stopped there again, there was a guy at the counter. Just in case, we asked again if the falafel is vegan and the guy told us no. He said they add egg to it while cooking. If you're vegan, make sure to avoid this place

Judy M.

Yelp
The BEST Israeli food in town! I highly recommend the chicken thigh plate. So juicy & tender. And don't even get me started on the hummus & their fresh baked pita. I could go on and on! DELICIOUS!!!!!

Joni Y.

Yelp
Amazing service , food is fresh and good , portions are big and satisfying, nice, authentic music, playing on the background . one of the best shawarma places in all US and I tried many of them , this place is amazing.

Elliott W.

Yelp
I was really blown away by Tel Aviv Grill. The chicken shawarma pita sandwich is just killer. I love whatever they season it with and it's unlike any I've had before. The setup here is great, you pick what ingredients you want as they make your food. It's fast and delicious, reasonably priced, and there's parking. Love this place!

Sam E.

Yelp
I've ordered delivery from Tel Aviv Grill twice now and it never disappoints. They give big portions and they have all the fix ins: shepherd's salad, cabbage, hummus; tahini, pickles, eggplant, fries, etc. I have tried the chicken shawarma which is very flavorful and well spiced and the falafel which are crunchy and tasty. It also comes with pita bread if you get the platter. I have tried this kind've Mediterranean food in Israel and this place does it very similarly. I look forward to trying it in person soon.

Michael A.

Yelp
The food was superb... Each of the five item that we ordered were amazing and surprising. I would recommend this restaurant highly. Our server, Dennis, was super helpful and friendly. A real feeling of caring. I will ask for him again when we definitely return to the restaurant. The ambience was A1. 5 stars all around.

Margo B.

Yelp
I've been to Israel many times , was married to an Israeli . Tel Aviv grill is hands down the best in town . I always get the shawarma , but their pita , salads and their hummus .... omg I could eat it all by itself . The price is a little pricey but the food is plenty , tons of shawarma and salad to last for two meals or enough to share . You get what you pay for , fresh and delicious!!! Oven

Jon S.

Yelp
Whata true gem this place has become. I have never had a bad meal here. It is consistently good. That's tough to say in today's food world (especially in LA). If you enjoy savory middle eastern food this is the place. No need to go to any fancy pants place in the city. Stick to Tel Aviv grill. It's a Plus for being kosher. So you know your getting top notch food. What to go with: chicken breast plate, kafta plate and of course the chicken shwarma plate. But the true banger off the hinges hittin switches in the low-low must eat is the chicken shawarma baguette. It's one of my favorite sandwiches in all of Los Angeles. Things to think about getting when your there is adding grilled onions to anything you get, wedding sauce, tahini and their pickles. Fuckin fahgettaboutit. This is a must try place. They have multiple locations and I have been to them all and every meal is consistently good. That's when you know you have a winner. Staff is always friendly (can be a bit aggressive at times to rush people through the line) and stores are always clean. Its on the pricier side but worth it.

Jarod D.

Yelp
Rating: Excellent. Scale: Bad, Meh, Average, Good, Excellent Comments: Delicious, high quality fast food. Love the chicken shawarma laffa stuffed with fresh salads/veggies/pickles. Huge portions. Had never had sabich before, but now I'm a fan.

kat s.

Yelp
Delicious middle eastern food, generous portions with decent pricing! Highly recommend their chicken Shawarma, and fries!

Howard S.

Yelp
This was the best kosher Israeli food I've had in a while - schwarma, falafel, Israeli salad, hummus, etc. And the service was very friendly and welcoming.

Jon D.

Yelp
Great but pricey. A taste of Israel. everything was tasty, from sabich to falafel to Shawarma. All very yummy. And large portions!

Brandon M.

Yelp
The food is fresh, the service is amazing. It's always busy but they run efficiently. I don't mind waiting for quality.

Moe A.

Yelp
Great food !! The shawarma is like we have in Israel Love the place highly recommend it

Michael D.

Yelp
The chicken laffa is incredible. The hummus is next level delicious, like on a completely different level above all others. Even tho there is hummus on the laffa, i'll get a small side with my order (with additional pita) just to keep eating it. This place is great. Big portions, delicious food and friendly service.

Arlene J.

Yelp
I have wanted to try this place for 2 years. Today I ordered via online on a whim. Staff is pleasant. I ordered Chicken Breast pita, which came with fries and eggplant. I kept my add on items simple (lettuce, tomato, salt pepper etc) in order to taste the chicken. The chicken is perfectly seasoned...I rarely eat grilled chicken as I'm always skeptical there will be a lack of seasonings-This is one of the best sandwiches I've eaten in Los Angeles. The eggplant is so delicious- I am not a veggie kind of girl, but eggplant is the best I've eaten. I have taken off 1 star because my fries were not hot. I live for fresh cut, thick fries, with that perfect crisp, soft in the middle. Hopefully my fries will be hot next visit. I would absolutely order the eggplant and fries only. I will order again next week, actually this weekend.

Matan D.

Yelp
The best food in Los Angeles I love it so much Special service Thank you for everything

Elisa G.

Yelp
This is a really cute clean take out restaurant in Valley Village on Burbank and Whitsett. The tahini is great and it pairs well with the chicken breast. Good Israeli pickles and cabbage 4 stars for the service and cute guys who were picking up food plus they let me sample the hummus which was pretty good!! These guys know how to run a business!! Mazel Tov to them!!

Liron B.

Yelp
Great place always love coming here and enjoy one if the best Israeli food in LA Keep it up guys

Amir B.

Yelp
Over overpriced very small portions, and very very salty not happy before they used to give more bigger plates for cheaper now more expensive and smaller plates

Peggy V.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday night and this place was popping. You pay at the register then bring your ticket to the food counter area. I was really tempted to film the guys prepping but refrained. Maybe because I don't want too many people starting to come to place to get some really good falafels and such hahaha jk!! The food is made to order and they provide ample sides (eggplant, fries, pickles and pickled cabbage). I got the pita falafel with sides and it came out to ten bucks. It was super filling. I got a taste of my dates ribeye pita and it was tender and to die for. I highly recommend coming out to the encino area for some authentic food! P.s. they aren't open on Sundays as it's rest day :).

Rabin P.

Yelp
Great Food!! Eat there all the time. Consistently good. Highly recommend. High quality.

Eric S.

Yelp
Everything is incredible, from the sauces to the meats to the pita and falafel. I was thoroughly impressed by this restaurant.

Hatem B.

Yelp
Food is not fresh, still serve in paper plate and aluminum. Food without taste it is missing spices. If you cannot prepare middle eastern food look for other businesses
