This place is very close to where I live and it has a nice decor. I really want to like it, but the service was super slow and blow the normal standard. We were seated right away, but had to wait for 15 minutes before a server came around to take our order. And we sat there for another 10 minutes without providing any water. We were so thirsty that my boyfriend had to walk to the bar asking for water. We ordered simple foods like fries, salad and pasta, but had to wait for another 50 minutes to get our food. The place was not even busy. Don’t come here if you are hungry and be ready to serve yourself such as asking bartender for water.

The butternut squash soup was good even though I preferred less cheese. The pan roasted salmon was mostly good -- except the salmon was a tad too salty for me. Nevertheless I still give 4 ⭐ for the food. Server was friendly and welcoming, but overall I give 3 ⭐ for service because two things: 1) no one gave me the proper cloth napkin for dining (after the soup came out, I had to go get my own square paper napkins at the bar), and later when the entree came out, the kitchen staff was about to walk away leaving me without utensils (and still no napkin), and I asked to request them. This is not a nitpick -- it is essential situational awareness that a guest cannot eat without utensils :) 2) it took ~25 minutes for the starter soup to come out, and ~37 minutes for the entree. For context it was Halloween, and there were ~18 other guests inside and perhaps ~6-8 outside, and 2 servers; I don't know if this was super busy for them -- the place was only at maybe 40% capacity though -- but the wait time was definitely on the longer side of the spectrum, which frankly was starting to bug me. All that said I still think the restaurant is worth another visit, hopefully similar issues do not repeat. EDIT: After posting the review above, I looked at a handful of other <4 ⭐ reviews and several mentioned slow service despite small crowds. Maybe this suggests a slow kitchen? One review was from a few months ago, so maybe things haven't changed enough.

You never know what you're gonna get but I gave it a shot. So nice. Spotless clean. Super friendly. Good music at a good volume. And the food was great and came out at a good time. I look forward to coming back. They are open till 3pm.

Lovely quaint place, very modern type atmosphere. I had the pancakes, which you'd think can't go wrong, right? They were easily the most memorable pancakes I've ever had, they were like biting into a cloud. We also got an omelette and potatoes that were also amazing. I was happy to see they also had a fully working bar open at 11am lol. I planned on treating myself to a cocktail and they made me a super sweet and fruity cocktail that I was extremely pleased with. Definitely a great place to check out in the neighborhood. Mind my horrible picture of the outside.

Walking in, I loved the space and decor inside. Got seated right away without a reservation. Unfortunately, service was so slow even on a Tuesday afternoon. It took 40 minutes to get our food and the place wasn’t packed. Food was pretty bland, nothing had salt or pepper on it. Once I doctored it up, it was better but nothing special. Potatoes were crispy though. Also, the breakfast taco was a burrito? And bacon was undercooked.

Went here alone for the first time on a Friday morning/afternoon and easily is one of my fav spots now to study/eat/drink. They had lo-fi type music playing which makes it study friendly. Plenty of people had their laptops open doing work so I felt comfortable chilling there for a minute. Most of the seating is cozy. The highlight of everything I got was the espresso martini, so good! Definitely recommend to spot by :)

I came here with my girlfriend on a Friday night at around 6:30, it was very crowded. We sat for about 15 minutes before our server came over and by that time I had asked the table sitting next to us if we were supposed to go up to the counter to order. We ordered our food at about 6:50pm; fries for an appetizer, a fried chicken salad, and pasta. My girlfriend asked for salmon but they told us they were out which is pretty bad considering how small the menu is and that it was still before 7pm. We sat there with empty water glasses for another 10 minutes until I went up to the bar and asked for it. Between ordering our food at 6:45ish and receiving it all at once at around 7:30, our server never came over to ask if we needed anything even though the restaurant had emptied and we repeatedly saw her just standing around near the bar. The fries and salad were alright, the pasta was bland. We came here because we figured it would be quick but this was easily the most disappointing dinning experience I’ve had in years. We felt like we were being ignored and had the food not come when it did I was about to suggest we just leave. Terrible service, would not recommend. I would give the service 0 stars if that was an option

Google
Overall: Great place and good food. Ambience is chill and relaxed. I went for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. For breakfast, you go in and place your order at the counter and they give you a number to bring to your table of choice. You grab your own utensils and you clear off table yourself. I like this take since it’s super efficient. I think for brunch and dinner you get served as you would normally (not entirely sure)? Good menus and variety. Food came out great! Overall, super chill place. Would go back and highly recommend. Price: $-$$ Service: friendly staff!

Yelp
Love this neighborhood spot for brunch! You have the option to sit down or take out which makes this spot one of my go-to's. They're open all day, including happy hour and dinner, with menus that include a variety of foods that everyone loves. The food is always tasty and made with quality ingredients. My favorite item from their menu is their egg sandwich with bacon and avocado. The sandwich is quite a handful as its loaded with toppings and made with drippy over easy eggs, but each bite is worth the mess! During my recent visit, I tried the Tela's fries that were topped with caramelized onions, ooey gooey cheddar cheese and tender, flavorful short rib. Highly recommend adding the Tela's Fries to the table to share! Any dish you choose is super filling and can be great for sharing. Service is always quick, despite being quite busy for weekend brunches, and staff is friendly. Looking forward to trying out their dinner menu soon!

Yelp
Tela's, I love you, but this time you let me down. I want to preface by saying I usually come for dinner, and all of my dinner experiences in the past have been fantastic. I rave about the Thursday night $30 wine + pizza combo. I really do. But this weekend I went with my book club for brunch, and the experience was less than ideal . I made my reservation for 11 am. Although it took a little while for my group to meet me, we were still able to be seated upon arrival and order coffee pretty much right away which was great. I got a chai latte and liked it a lot, will definitely be getting that again (5/5 chai latte) 2/5 service: we did not receive another visit from our server until 11:45 to place our food order, by the time I had pretty much finished my beverage. Throughout our stay, it was nearly impossible to track down the server; I was not expecting to spend two hours for brunch. 2/5 chicken and waffles: I love brunch. I love breakfast food. I was deliberating between the breakfast burrito and the chicken and waffles, but ultimately caved for the waffles. Sue me! When my meal was served, I was disappointed that it wasn't hot. It was more lukewarm... and my waffle was not cooked all the way, which concerned me. I thought it was interesting that it came with hot honey, but honestly my whole plate felt beige and tasteless, both the chicken and the waffle. I will not order this again. Clearly a popular place for brunch, as by noon the place was completely full. I don't know if they are understaffed or not, but I wouldn't say I had a positive brunch experience.

Yelp
We came on a Saturday for brunch with no reservations and was sat immediately. I ordered the pancake batter matcha which is their special flavor and it was really good. Not too sweet but it had the perfect amount of matcha. The bacon omelet was also really yummy and had a light salad on the side. Sarah was our waitress and she was super kind and attentive. She made sure the coffee was always refilled and the food came out okay. We will definitely be back in the future.

Yelp
BLAT smoked thick bacon lettuce avocado and tomato on the best whole wheat slightly sweetened buttered bread. So good. The service was okay-neutral. The restaurant is cute but noisy; it's good if you want to be in bustling environment. I always go in for the sandwich when available.

Yelp
Tela's just gained a new costumer in me. Literally texted my friend while I was eating letting her know she needs to try this place out. I had the egg sandwich with truffle fries. Bread is toasted but still soft, eggs were seasoned properly and the truffle fries are probably one of the best I've had in Philadelphia.

Yelp
Came here for brunch courtesy of a recommendation and just say the food and mimosa were worth the trip over the bridge. Service could've been a lotto better, but it wasn't bad enough for me to write the place off. I'll chalk it to it just being a day for our server. It's a great place to catch up with friends, first dates or just any date really. Actually ran into a good friend while there which was a pleasant surprise. I shall return and try out some more of the menu and drink options.

Yelp
Frankly, it's over priced. The food is pretty good but you can get just as good for cheaper at other places. I have a beef with them charging tax on the baguettes that you buy to take home. It used to have a really nice grocery section but it's been greatly reduced to just a few trendy items. The bread remains. They never used to charge a tax on it before when it was a grocery. I've asked several times and no one knows the answer. The manager is never available.

Yelp
Great space for a large group gathering. Servers handled our party with ease and food and drinks came out quickly. The happy hour menu was great and everything was tasty. The sliders were my favorite choice.

Yelp
Visited here for brunch one Saturday and the place was poppin! We had a reservation so we didn't sweat it but if you're looking to go there at a specific time especially the weekend I recommend making one. The service was great but the food and drinks were even better. I ordered an Eggs Benedict which was delicious. If you order a side of bacon I recommend asking for it extra crispy as my order came to the table barely cooked in quite a few spots.

Yelp
I am a BIG Tela's fan! It's a great spot in Fairmount for coworking, quick lunches, dates, and an occasional drink. So much to love here: the food, the atmosphere and vibes, bright sunlight, open windows in the summer, and space to spread out. I have enjoyed the yogurt parfait and greek bowl with chicken. They also have really nice egg-based breakfast and brunch options. There is typically a sign in front that denotes whether or not there is service or if you're supposed to order at the bar and sit. There is occasionally bugs flying around and I sometimes wish the market selection was a bit bigger (I think it used to be?) but ultimately it wouldn't be that convenient of a location for me to bop by for specialty items anyways. Pop in for a unique hostess gift, thought! Bottle of wine, etc. Also coffee! Always look forward to my next Tela's trip and appreciate this gem of a spot for existing.

Yelp
Great food , great Ambiance and little attention from my female waitress with a pointy tail. Look at us many times but no eye contact. Only came over one to check on us. She seam overwhelmed. Today is the 30 th of March at 2 pm.

Yelp
Great spot, not a huge menu but what they have is spot on. Where can you go for happy hour on a Saturday night? Here, because they only have dinner 4 days a week or so, so they have a Saturday happy hour. Very neighborhood vibe and wine to go. If you are going to the met for a show this is gem to hit before your show. Obviously breakfast and lunch rock

Yelp
Located in Fairmount, the space is big and has a lot of seating. It took a minute for us to get seated, seems like there was only one waiter around 1pm. The menu has something for everyone- lots of egg options, pancakes, sandwiches, soups, tacos and bowls. I ordered the Matcha Apple Cider which was an unique flavor, more on the sweeter side. The iced coffee with toffee syrup was average and missing the toffee note. The tuna sandwich comes with thin slices of granny smith apple and chucks of celery. The tuna mixture is very fatty and simply delicious. The buttermilk pancakes were divine. They are crispy on the inside and soft in the middle. It comes with plenty of fresh berries and berry compote. The fries are basically McDonald's fries but thicker. SO GOOD! Dropping one star simply because I think the food could have came out a bit quicker but recognize there is a lot going on in the kitchen.

Yelp
Stopped in with some friends for a drink. The white sangria was so good. It was light and refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. Cute place inside. Our server was sweet and patient. We were visiting instead of paying attention to the menu, she had to come back a couple of times before we were ready to order. The fries were a little boring, but that's ok. They weren't horrible. One of my friends enjoyed his chicken sandwich.

Yelp
Tela's Market is a great option for brunch in Philly. However, parking can be tricky so leave time to drive around if you don't plan to Uber. If you are going on the weekend, I would recommend a reservation as wait times can be 30mins +. Even with a reservation you may have to wait for a table to open - its very busy on the weekends. For brunch, we ordered the hot honey fried chicken sandwich, crispy mahi mahi tacos and a chai latte. The portions were a great size and everything was flavorful and well-seasoned. I also really enjoyed the fact that the sandwiches came with a side salad. I would highly recommend and next time I would try the omelette and chicken and waffles.
google avatar

Len S.

Yelp
Breakfast or brunch either works for me when the food is this fresh and delicious. Service was excellent recommend a reservation so you don't have to wait for a table as this place is popular with the locals. Excellent farm to table restaurant.
google avatar

Cassie G.

Yelp
Went in this morning, lovely location, beautiful inside. Unfortunately it took longer to order the coffee then to receive it but the wait was not worth the 4 ppl in line. The latte was awful - it tasted as if the portafilter had already used grounded espresso and poured water over it again. It was so bitter that you couldn't taste the flavoring or syrup added. Since it took some time to receive it and the staff looked a bit stressed out, I didn't want to ask to remake and attempted to save it at home to add some flavoring but it was not capable of being saved. Really disappointed as it's the very few places left in the neighborhood to stop for coffee

Yelp
My hubby and I popped in here on a Saturday morning to grab coffee and ended up staying for brunch since the menu looked good. We were there before the crowd so we got to sit in the cozy sofa lounge areas. The ambiance was very warm and welcoming and service was attentive. We got the chicken and waffles with cinnamon apples and it was a fun twist on the classic dish. While the French toast was quite soggy and less flavorful, the berries on the French toast were amazing. Made me wish I got the yogurt berry parfait instead. Our drinks were 10/10. Hubs got a vanilla honey latte with sugar free syrup and skim milk. I got the honey rose water latte with almond milk. We'd go back in a heartbeat for this drinks.

Yelp
We just love Tela's for breakfast, lunch, or to sit and get some work done. The room is decorated with twinkly lights and tree trunks and there is a lot of space. You order at the counter, get a number, and sit down. I have had the tuna sandwich with apples and cheddar cheese. I love the combination of apples and cheddar cheese but never thought to add them to tuna- so good! Also the bread is fresh and flavorful. Also the grilled avocado salad is very well flavored with being overdone. Grilling avocado adds a uniqueness The avocado toast on the breakfast menu is amazing!! Thick delicious whole grain bread, maybe half an inch thick, covered with another half inch of avocado, decorated with radish slices, and served with a side salad. The coffee (I get black drip) is ok- I enjoy it but wouldn't go out of my way for it. They also seem to have a great selection of beer wine and spindrift!

Yelp
I've always passed by but never had the chance to eat here but I'm glad I did. First impression, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and absolutely lively despite the cold, wet weather outside. It was a Saturday but when I went inside, it had a Sunday brunch type of vibe! It felt like it was going to be a great day as soon as I stepped in. Getting seated wasn't an issue for a party of 2 and it was packed. Our waitress gave us great service as we sat down. We both ordered the egg sandwich and were pleasantly surprised by the portion. The sandwich, served in a brioche bun, was quite large and there were ample potatoes to complement it. Eating the sandwich was difficult since the eggs were over easy so the yolk just dripped everywhere but it's not to the fault of Tela's. It's clearly stated on the menu that the eggs are cooked over easy. It makes some great pics though! As for the sandwich itself, I think the brioche bun just wrapped up the eggs and turkey bacon well. As for the potatoes, they were crispy yet soft on the inside. It's just as I expected and just how I like them. Amazing. I'd come back to Tela's again just for the food and the atmosphere!

Yelp
I've been here many times which I had good food and good service. However, the last time I went the service was kind of disappointing. It was an early Sunday brunch and I understand that is a busy time. We got there and were told most tables were full but we were welcome to sit at the bar, which we did. Seated quickly but it took over 15 minutes for anyone to come over for any water or utensils. The hostess eventually got us water after we had been waiting a while. So we waited and waited for our waitress. Upon sitting down, we saw another table get sat after us and received their coffee and food before we got any service. Eventually the manager came to us after sitting for almost 30 minutes to take our orders. Then the waitress finally came to take our orders but they were already taken by the manager. So we waited for about 10-15 minutes for our food. Food was as expected. Then after finishing our plates, we waited and waited for anyone to come by to give us our check. I eventually got up myself to go to the manager to ask for the check. I'm sad the service could have been better this time around. Sad because I love this place but felt like my experience took away from it

Yelp
The atmosphere is nice, I appreciated the real silverware and cloth napkins. It was clean and cheerful. However, I ordered the brown rice bowl and was disappointed. The other food in our group was better. If you are listing a brown rice bowl I was expecting it to be at least partially warm (the rice). If not, please say so. Cold rice is hard and starchy, I don't know if anyone likes cold rice. The bowls section of the menu were a mixture of warm and cold (like chili and also poké), so there was no way to know. The salad was prettily presented, someone in the kitchen had some good nice knife skills and the mushrooms were thankfully cooked (though cold). There was nothing that held the salad components together and only after I arrived at home did I remember that there was a miso dressing in the description, it was not on the salad. That explains why it was so incredibly boring. Perhaps not worth leaving a review about, but it drove me a little crazy why it was so lackluster. If I had ordered pancakes I am sure I would have left happy.

Yelp
I went in to enjoy myself and grab a bite and drinks for the Eagles SB parade and someone came in causing a scene and being belligerent so I asked to speak to the owner only to find out it was the owner! Will not be back.

Yelp
Back to Tela's for a Friday evening dinner. Grabbed a seat inside immediately, along their storefront window -- very nice. Overall, the food was great. My Moscow Mule was a little light -- great ginger flavor, but wasn't strong on the alcohol; lots of ice. Staff was okay -- unobtrusive, which was nice. Fried Calamari - Very tasty. Good crunch, good sauce, each piece very tender. However, you can see how many little pieces we get for $12 -- about 12. This appetizer is likely meant for one. The sauce was similar to a tomato soup. Tela's Cheeseburger with Avocado - Following the calamari, the size of the burger surprised me. Huge, cooked to perfection (medium) and layered in tomato and avocado, this burger is one for the books. At $18 total, still on the pricier side, but this one actually delivers. Enjoyed the fries as well -- crispy exterior and soft inside. Value: 3/5 Quality: 5/5 Quantity: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

Yelp
I went for dinner with a friend and the food was pretty average. I had the Fish Tacos, which seemed a bit bland. My favorite thing we got was the Flatbread with hummus, baba ganoush, and labneh, that was definitely worth getting a second time.
google avatar

Yelp
First impression you would think this place probably sells very basic American brunch food - BLT, avocado toast, etc. I was surprised to see they have some interesting items on the menu. We went for dinner on a Friday night because we didn't have time to make any reservations. The restaurant was close to empty so if you're in a rush to find a place to eat, this place might be a good option. I do remember it mostly being busy during brunch hours during the weekend. For dinner, they had more interesting items like Korean Fried Chicken, braised short ribs, etc. I wasn't hungry enough and opted for a roasted avocado salad. My friend got the beet salad and the hamburger. Waitress had recommended the avocado salad. I really like the avocado salad! However for the price I would have much preferred going to Sweet Greens or Honeygrow if I was craving a salad. Overall I would say this is a cute and casual place to grab a bite with friends. The ambiance is also nice and waitress was very attentive. I'm very interested to come back for their happy hour!

Yelp
What a cute little place. Just stoped in for a light bite. Everyone was so accommodating. Gives true meaning to the city of brotherly love. I grabbed a water and chicken salad. Sat at the bar with my friend. We didn't order a drink and the bartender didn't have any reason to help us but you only wanted to help. She was overly friendly and when we're done of this nice day and all of the help us clean up. Super great guy. If I live down here I would come here all the time.

Yelp
Woof, I'm not really sure where to begin here. I came here with 2 other people on a Sunday for brunch. The question we ended up asking ourselves and each other was, "Is there anyone here in charge?" and "Is the manager out today or what?" on repeat. We had a reservation and were seated after a short wait. The reason for the short wait was because no one was attending the host station. The restaurant was maybe half full, with a steady stream of folks coming in for coffee. Little did we know this would be the beginning of the confusing comedy of errors we were about to experience. Some highlights: 1. Having to flag someone down to ask how we ordered - no one paid us any attention after being seated, so we had to ask a random staff person if we were supposed to order at the bar 1a. This was confusing because they were not understaffed; there were quite a few folks on staff running food and bussing tables 1b. (Do you know how weird it is to have to ask someone how to order in a restaurant where you are seated and given a menu? It made me wonder if I really had spent too long in covid isolation and I had forgotten how restaurants worked) 2. We ordered drinks and food. The food came out surprisingly quickly (see point 1a: plenty of staff running food). 2a. The food also came out looking like it would be served at Waffle House. Now! Don't get me wrong - I do love Waffle House but they're not out here charging $14 for a bacon omelet (with nearly undetectable amounts of bacon in it) or $14 for a tuna sandwich that comes underfilled on square wheat sandwich bread. 2b. What did not come out until we asked about it was our drinks. We were maybe 1/3 through our meal by the time the drinks were delivered. Additionally, our bottle of water was not refilled (despite having an empty bottle on the table when the server took our order) 3. Ok, I felt this was a big party foul and deserves it's own point: the beer someone ordered (a pilsner) was no longer available so instead of the server coming back to let us know of this travesty, the bartender poured a Belgian style beer with no input from the customer because she did not want [the customer] to not have a drink. I think the solution here would have been let the customer decide if there was another beer they fancied instead of...choosing one to pour? It's honestly too bad because Tela's has such potential: a cool spot, nice enough ambiance, a little market, coffee, a full bar, and a good enough looking menu but really someone needs to whip this place into shape and there could EASILY be lines out the door. In the meantime? thank u, next.

Yelp
This place is a very cute place for brunch! I really liked the interior of the place big tables and lots of great lighting. It does get very busy and kind of loud during the weekend brunch. As for the food, it was nothing super special, I ordered fish tacos, and they were very flavorful but pretty small. Their orange juice was honestly one of the yummiest part of the meal, but it was pretty pricey (6 for a small bottle)! Overall it's a decent spot for brunch, but pretty similar to what you can find in other brunch places as well.

Yelp
Great Food! Local feeling! Chill! Pretty good service for a busy day! Sat inside but it was very cute! Not a serious brunch! overall great place

Yelp
What happened to Tela's? We used to eat brunch here pretty regularly, especially during the warmer months. Something has obviously gone wrong recently. Perhaps they're understaffed, but that's hardly an excuse for how awful our brunch was this morning. For starters, they don't check vaccination cards, and the woman working the register removed her mask to talk on the phone, while customers were waiting to check out. Speaking of that, they have apparently moved to a counter service model, which I don't have a problem with -- except for the fact that the service is essentially non-existent. We had to hunt down water from one of the food runners, and when your coffee is ready, they shout from the coffee bar. My cappuccino was served in a to-go cup, and when I asked for it in a mug (given, you know, it's a sit-down restaurant), the woman asked, "What, do you want me to hand wash a mug or something?" For the record, they do have mugs, which other customers had received -- I wasn't being that ridiculous, and didn't need that snark. They also forgot part of our order, and again, tried putting it in a paper bag instead of on an actual plate. What am I tipping 20% for again? Finally, to top it off: borderline raw pancakes, with streaks of egg white running through them. See the photos. I mean, really? I tried a few bites; honestly, foul. This, plus my partner's mediocre sausage and egg sandwich, which came with what was essentially a meatball of sausage on the top. If you value your health, and want edible food, avoid.

Jane V.

Yelp
Ordered the poached egg skillet and cinnamon roll latte. The latte was incredible, but they hardly poached the eggs. I'm no chef but I know poached egg white aren't supposed to be translucent! The manager kindly offered me a fresh fruit platter, and I ordered the breakfast plate instead. It lacked flavor but overall not terrible. Sadly I'll be skipping on food next time and just ordering coffee.

Came here for a late lunch with friends, and the food was very average. I was hoping for better quality ingredients for the prices, but the burger and fries I had was extremely average. Not bad, but I won't go out of my way to eat here. The coffee was solid tho, I'd come back for that.

Yelp
In the Fairmount area - a great location. I came for lunch and the ambiance of the space is great. Cute, trendy, comfortable. There is also outdoor dining but we opted to sit inside. We chose this place as I was with my cousin and my daughter, and my cousin is gluten free land vegan, and they had a lot of options to meet her needs. Everything was great! We ordered sandwiches which for the quality and price - it was right in line with what I was imaging. Would definitely go again!

Yelp
Came to Tela's to meet with some friends in the area for brunch. I truly enjoyed the esthetic of the establishment. The natural sunlight coming throughh the windows combined with indoor lighting made the space seem so open. The seating options vary between a bench concept or coffee table. Very communal for larger groups. Though pricey, the food was pretty good. I ended up getting what I recall being their weekly or weekend special The Shrimp Gnocchi Bowl. When speaking to the store manager and staff, they exclaimed about how much joy they got from creating dishes. These are really people who love food, and love seeing others enjoy that food. I also wanted to highlight the grocery store. There is a bunch of fresh fruits/ veggies surrounding check out station.

Yelp
I honestly think this is one the best bang for your buck options in the entire city! 1) they are BIG on healthy options, but it taste like a cheat meal. Everything is super delicious and you'll never leave mad about what you ordered 2) the portions are huge, especially for the price. 3) you've got variety, nothing is over-complicated, and you can swing a meal here for early breakfast, brunch, or late lunch. Even cooler - they have an entire market inside which has meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, snacks, etc. I love the atmosphere too, great music and friendly staff. Big farm tables to share with other guests, which makes it super casual but also there are smaller tables if you wanted a more intimate meal. You can bring your pups and sit outside to eat if you so choose. The aesthetic inside is very cool: hanging string lights and greenery, just makes it feel very comfortable and relaxing.

Yelp
They are getting two stars instead of one because the food was actually good. Had a reservation for 7:15 on a Friday night. We were seated quickly but everything service related went down afterwards. We ordered a glass of wine and a glass of iced tea. 25 minutes later we get our drinks. We ordered our dinner when we ordered our drinks. Probably 45 minutes after ordering food, my pasta comes out. Nothing else. 10 minutes later the pizza comes out. We are still waiting on the hamburger. There has been no explanation from the staff. In fact everyone is ignoring us. Finally we get the attention of our server who after taking our order has not been back. We ask about the hamburger and he says he'll go check on it. 10 minutes later he comes out with a hamburger which we specifically asked for without cheese. When we tell him that he ask if we still want this burger. We ask for it to be prepared without cheese. 20 minutes later no update and no apology from anyone. We ask for him to cancel the burger and for the check, he offers to put it in a to go box. We say sure. 10 minutes later he comes back with a hamburger in a to go box and we pay and leave. Nothing was comped and no one apologized. Best yet, when we get home the hamburger has very clearly just had the cheese pulled off from the top. Unclear why that took so long or why they didn't make a new one. There was a bad cheese allergy which is why we had initially ordered it without. Had to be the worst dinner in a while which is too bad because the food we did have was pretty good. The fact that no one even apologized for a disastrous service made this possibly the worst dinner. Just a really really unfortunate dinner.

Yelp
Came in for brunch with 2 friends, wasn't too busy for a Sunday, which was was great. Our server was attentive and we got our orders in pretty quick. Now I typically don't come out for breakfast food bc the breakfast food industry is just so not worth the exorbitant price markups, but I was meeting with some friends and this was close by. The food was pretty well priced (under $20/person) for the city and tasted pretty average, not bad but not anything amazing either. I got the egg sandwich with sausage, and honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was typical breakfast sausage that you could find served in a hospital cafeteria. Potatoes that were served with the sandwich could have definitely been crispier, but they were well seasoned atleast. I think its a nice place to visit and food is pretty average so if you're in the area and need a bite, this place does have decent food.

Yelp
Tela's was my favorite place to get coffee and get some work done pre pandemic! Also loved their grab and gos. Things have changed since 2020. It's definitely a sit down and have a meal vibe and less grab and go options/sit and do your work. I randomly stopped in for lunch on a Friday and it was quite busy. I wish there were more options on their lunch menu but I got the Roasted Turkey Sandwich and a Chardonnay. Both were very refreshing. The side salad was drenched with olive oil which was a shame because the greens were really fresh. I did get a grilled chicken sandwich here before that was very dry with nothing extra really on the sandwich so I was hesitant to try a different one but the Turkey sandwich was moist, flavorful, and neat. You have to pick your own utensils out of a basket/they don't bring that to you when you receive your food. They also don't bring you/offer you water. Pros: Same great ambience and decor as pre pandemic. Great location with large windows. The addition of the bar is fantastic. You can purchase wine, cheeses, crackers, etc. There is a lot of seating inside and outside. You can pick your own seating. Cons: If I'm sitting down for a meal I would like to have some basic things like utensils and napkins brought to me/on the table and water offered. It's not a big deal but it was annoying to get my food and realize I didn't have what I needed to eat it. Also, I had to ask where to find those things so it's not obvious. The register is behind the bar so it's a little tight if the bar is full. Overall, of course I'll go back. Great place to go solo or meet up with friends. I did come here once for dinner and the service was different so if this experience doesn't reflect yours that may be why.

Yelp
Great brunch, great portion sizes and the environment is cozy and very earthy. The pumpkin spice chai latte was also very fall festive. If I had to critic anything it would be the wait time but the place was busy so understandable.

Yelp
First time at Tela's and wow-- talk about delicious. We got the scrambled eggs on toast, the breakfast sandwich, and the pumpkin french toast. Service was super quick and friendly. I wouldn't be surprised if I became a regular here. 5/5.

Yelp
Delicious takeout at Telas! Great spot in Fairmount for dinner or brunch. I love the market inside with coffee, produce and cute home items. Definitely a neighborhood staple. Can't wait to come back to try their brunch!

Yelp
Surprisingly one of a few visits to enjoy Happy Hour cheese plate with spritz's. Delicious and light is what we want for and what we got!!!! Great options. Always beautifully put together and everything tasted great. Little on the pricy side during normal hours but always well executed.

Yelp
Pros: Vibe/Atmosphere Cons: Food and service. Food - I've eaten here twice in the last three weeks, once by myself on a weekday morning, once on a weekend for brunch with friends. The food was mediocre. There was nothing really special about it. It didn't taste great, just okay. Nothing terrible but also not especially enjoyable. The bunch menu doesn't offer sides, e.g., if I wanted avocado just by itself as a side for my omelette. Not a big deal but an easy fix. Service: This is where Tela's really loses stars for me. When I went by myself, I asked for no potatoes. They served potatoes. I also asked for coffee with *very little cream* and I emphasized this. The coffee I received was very pale. Our water was never refilled the entire time we sat there, nor were our coffees. When I came for the brunch, the service really wasn't great. Our server was willing, but didn't seem to have a lot of experience (e.g., didn't know whether they had bloody mary's but made an effort to find out). When I twice emphasized a TINY bit of cream, again my coffee came incredibly pale. Worst still was the host. We had a brunch reservation at 11:30. We were still enjoying our breakfast (partially because of slow service) at 12:30. Very soon thereafter, the host (who was not our server) came by to try and push us out. She did so by first removing our used napkins from the table so that the crumbs tumbled out onto the table and us. We paid and were finishing our drinks when she came back to ask us if we need anything else--again, not our server, and again, trying to hurry us out, and removing our glasses. She also repeatedly and very obviously pointed to us and our table, as she was telling new guests they had to wait for us. She also kept giving us hard stares. Look, I'm sure it's a difficult job to manage tables. But just don't schedule your reservations so close together and you won't have to rush out people after less than 90 minutes. It's not that hard. Unless you want to lose customers. And you've now lost me.

Yelp
Please come to Telas if you're looking for a good atmosphere and chic, instagramable pictures. Don't come if you expect over the top food with a friendly staff. Keeping it brief, first time we went the staff was very dismissive and short to questions we had. Food was alright, nothing memorable. Second time, figured we'd give Telas another go bc it's a 4 min walk, staff again were short w us, French toast was dry, fried chicken sandwhich greasy, and Mac & cheese was room temperature and flavorless. I'll take the extra 10 minute walk to pass by Telas to head to the other brunch places on/near fairmount.

Yelp
Good pastry's and breakfast options, a good spot to stop by for lunch as well. Good to grab and go or sit down
