Telegraph Canyon Trail stands out as one of the signature routes within Chino Hills State Park, frequently highlighted by Modern Hiker and the Chino Hills State Park interpretive staff. The trail traverses grassy meadows and wooded corridors, offering chances to spot mule deer and native birds. Its moderate length and varied terrain make it a favorite for those seeking a half-day adventure with a real sense of immersion in the Inland Empire’s natural landscape. The park’s official website confirms the trail’s open status and ongoing maintenance.

Chino hills State Park is absolutely gorgeous in the winter time. A blustery February morning was a perfect hike. The $10 parking is well worth it as the hill to walk up to the state park. It's the hike in itself. I recommend you drive as far in as you can and then find a trailhead from there to really get a good understanding of how huge the park is! It's so picturesque, like an old western movie. I was just waiting for John Wayne to ride up on his horse... It would be nice to see the state park have goats graising the hillside's to keep the fire danger low and also supply us with an never-ending supply of shepherd's pie.
