Beautiful atmosphere, fantastic live band, and friendly, attentive bartenders. We went for a dinner date and ordered a dozen oysters, entrées, steak, 3 drinks each, and dessert. The food itself was excellent. But the steak was raw, when ordered medium, but this was corrected immediately and effortlessly by bartender without asking.
Although we arrived on time for our reservation, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated despite there being a lot of open seating through out our stay. Our reservations were seated at the bar. They enforce a two-hour limit, which we understood; however, since we were seated 30 minutes late, we reasonably assumed we would still receive the full two hours.
Our total bill for two people was $459 (pre-tip), which was not the issue. Food service was a bit slow, and exactly two hours from our reservation time—not from when we were seated—we were abruptly told to "get up" because they "needed our seats", even though our dessert had not yet arrived. We explained that we had only been seated for about 90 minutes, but the hostess was extremely rude, repeatedly telling us to “get up” "thats how it works" and would "allow" us to eat our dessert standing in a corner.
Thankfully, the bartender took action and got approval for us to complete the 2 hour time plus 15 extra mins. Shortly after, four guests—who appeared to be friends of an employee or manager(?) in a white jacket from Americano, who stayed and chatted with them for a bit. They occupied 4 of the 8 open bar stools, after the employee left, they complained briefly for not wanting to sit at the bar, and then left.
While we were ultimately allowed additional time to finish our meal and drinks at the bar, the way the hostess treated us was disappointing and disrespectful. We were credited $88 for the steak that was raw when ordered medium, we did not ask for it but it was appreciated after being treated so poorly. As paying customers generating over $500 in revenue and tip in 1.5 hours, suggesting we eat standing in a corner was outrageous and mind blowing. I will "Tell My Friends" indeed.
