Yelp
It has been a minute since I've written a review and unfortunately, this experience has inspired me to write one.
We are visiting COMO for work. Here for four days. Not a huge fan of traveling much less spending 4 days in a town in mid-MO that I don't live in... but while here, let's have the best experience, right?
Food. Food is a huge thing for us... we like good experience, good food and a nice restaurant. Starting talking about where we were going to eat earlier today. I spent a solid hour on Yelp trying to find the perfect place.... not over priced, somewhere we can feel like we have a local / casual experience yet awesome food.
So let's talk about the positive. First, we got in immediately. Second, great table in the center of the restaurant. Third, super fast service taking drink and food orders. We both mentioned to each other how glad we are that we chose Teller's! This was a good (but yet short) start of our experience. Drinks were good and served immediately. We ordered a salad to split, it came within minutes... could not have been happier.... until...
.... we waited another 20 minutes for our food. We get it, the restaurant was busy. Typically, I wouldn't have been sore about that but tables sat before us were getting food before we received ours. Disappointing but survivable.
Then, the food came. S.U.P.E.R. D.I.S.A.P.P.O.I.N.T.I.N.G. The worst. We ordered two wraps and two sides of fries... it came with two wraps and one side of fries.
Person #1 (me), Chicken Caesar wrap with waffle fries ( I asked for curly, I received waffle because they were out of curly). Caesar Wrap - hard no. The chicken was so old / cold / dry, I couldn't chew it. The wrap itself was inedible. I pushed it around my plate and gave up. The fries were horrid. Cold, stale, hard, they literally cut my gums, I was bleeding when I left the restaurant. I was so concerned about the age of the chicken, I Googled the local health department to notify them of bad food being served. My meal with 101% awful.
Person #2 (partner) Pork wrap with sweet potato fries. Pork wrap was fine. Nothing to write home about. Wasn't great, wasn't bad, it was at least edible (the only thing on the table that was edible). Sweet potato fries.... well wait a minute... we can't comment on those... they never made it to the table.
So, let's talk about the service... because after your meal arrives, typically someone checks to see if you are satisfied and if your meal is good? NO. NO NO NO. Never happened. 3/4 of the way through our horrid meal, I mention to my dinner partner that no one has checked on us... he brushed it off and said there is no way we're being ignored... so we started counting the times the waitress walked by our table without checking on us.... we got to 9 times. NINE TIMES our waitress was within 12" of us and never once asked us 'how we are doing', 'how is the food', 'do you need anything else'..... NINE. TIMES.
47 minutes. 9 pass bys. Horrid inedible food. A $40 bill. No apology for the horrid service and crap food. Nothing. No resolution. Simply, 'here's your bill'. Full price for all of it. I'm not the guy that doesn't tip 30+% typically, but for the first time in years, that didn't happen tonight.
NO. APOLOGY. They couldn't have cared less. An hour on Yelp to land on a review like this is... well... sad.
If you have any other option in Columbia.... choose the other option. Teller's is NOT the place to check out while in Columbia.
