If you're into craft beer then making a small trip outside of town to Telluride Brewery will be worth your time.
Like a lot of smaller breweries it's located in an unsuspecting business park, probably a mile or two outside of Telluride. Be warned that the term 'tap-room' is very generous in this situation. They are obviously very short on space, but are making the most of what they have. There is a small bar and a small amount of room to stand while you drink - no bar stools, seats or tables. I wish there was a patio or something outside to enjoy the beautiful Telluride scenery, but alas there is not. On the bright side, you are right there, up close and personal, in a working brewery which is cool.
The actual brewery employees also work the bar so it can be a bit hectic. On my visit they were obviously busy working on the equipment and getting ready to can beer. They did their best to be friendly and attentive, but I almost felt like I was an inconvenience.
Wife and I went down the entire tap line and the beers are very good. Aside from a one or two I didn't care for, the beers were delicious, fresh and well made. FreakyFish - a Belgian double IPA, was my favorite. Prices are fair - bought a sample of everything, a pint, and a glass and walked out for less than $30 after tip.
Definitely worth a stop by, but know this isn't your typical taproom. Good place for a quick beer but not somewhere to spend an afternoon.
