Everything You Need to Know About the Las Vegas Food Hall Boom | Eater Vegas

"The sushi spot Temaki is among the Proper Eats vendors, and the expansive Proper Bar highlights pairings—like a sake and strawberry cocktail—meant to complement Temaki’s sushi rolls." - Eater Staff

Temaki is located in a food court in Aria. It’s pretty convenient to order from any of the spots in this area. The sushi is decently priced and was well prepared. The service and chef were very friendly and helpful and made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Google
I must express my disappointment with my recent order. The lobster rolls, priced at $36 for eight pieces, did not meet my expectations. The lobster meat was cold and lacked freshness, and the sushi rice was overly mushy. It felt as though I was paying for the establishment's overhead rather than the quality of the food. Additionally, the green tea appeared to be colored water without any discernible tea flavor. I would not recommend this particular location.

Google
Conveniently located in Aria Hotel and Casino. Idea of the food court is great. You can choose from variety of food. You do have to get up and go pick up food from each counter individually. Food is just okay. Overpriced just like many of the dishes in Las Vegas. Tuna poke $22, yellowtail role $22. Nothing special, not very good.

On our last day in Vegas, we wanted to grab lunch before heading in the road. When we found out Temaki doesn't do hand rolls to go, we opted to dine in. It wasn't crowded at all on a weekday at 1 pm so our group of 4 had no problems finding a spot on the bar. We all ordered the 5 hand roll set ($38) and added an order of the Maine lobster hand roll ($15). The 5 hand roll set includes salmon, yellowtail, blue crab, bay scallop, and spicy tuna. The best one of the 5 was the yellowtail and the blue crab. Least favorite was the spicy tuna. The Maine lobster roll is skippable. If you opt to do a la carte rolls, definitely get the blue crab, as it isn't heavy with the mayo, and the yellowtail, as they mix in crunchy rice cracker pieces called bubu arare with the yellowtail, giving it an enhanced texture and taste. We tried finding bubu arare in Los Angeles when we got home but none of the Japanese markets nor other Asian markets carry this, so we'd have to find out where Temaki sources theirs! Great service from our server / hand roll preparer and we appreciate him letting us know about the bubu arare. While I miss the Aria buffet (this food court replaced it), I'm glad there's a decent hand roll business to take its place and to fill my sushi needs in a quick serve setting.

Google
Handrolls were the highlight! Toro, lobster, blue and king crab handrolls are a must!

Google
The Otoro hand roll-- it was so delicious and almost rich in taste and freshness. The price was also decently reasonable considering the quality/location ($15 w tip). The sushi bar is limited and small, but it's a quick bite type of place, I couldn't imagine actually coming here for a dinner, more of a brunch, lite lunch or snack, although they have about 4 other varieties of fish including salmon and yellowtail. It's a smaller size sushi bar and the way it's designed is also modern and traditional. Service was fast and friendly, when they saw I didn't get a drink, they provided complimentary filtered water which was nice. There is also tons of seating outside of the sushi bar in the food court area where there're booths and comfortable lounge chairs JT

Google
Yeah, no. $50 plus $5 in tax for 14-15 sushi pieces made up of 90% rice and 10% rather tasteless pieces of seafood, I hope. A profitable business if you get away with it. Product cost estimated to be about $2.30.

Google
The sushi so good the spicy shrimp bangbang is really tasty

Yelp
The hand rolls here are amazing. The hand rolls are made one at a time so the seaweed is nice and crunchy and the rice is still warm. When you bite into it, you experience a nice crunch as you bight straight through the roll. No need to tear and pull at the soft seaweed to get at the meat. It is truly an amazing experience. The service is great and the ambiance is chill. I would highly recommend this spot for all you handroll lovers. This is one of my new favorite spots.
google avatar

Jay P.

Yelp
The quality is very mediocre. I got salmon, yellowtail, and crab. Each one was either too fishy or simply flavorless. The service was excellent and it was clean. But I'll never be back.

Yelp
A hand roll bar at the food court Aria hotel. The mobile menu is different from ordering at the counter. Weirdly they only have good items available for people eating at the counter. We have tried couple appetizers and a hand roll combo. I don't eat raw fish so I had the cooked ones and they were delicious. I especially liked king crab hand roll. Hubby liked spicy tuna and toro. We shared 2 cans of Kikusui cold sake and a matcha iced tea. The seatings were comfortable and service was friendly. A solid hand roll bar for lunch or snack food.

Yelp
Temaki bar is a surprise treat located in the Aria Hotel. This is a reasonably priced sushi/handroll bar. I was looking for a quick lunch that is high in protein and low in fat. I ordered the 3 hand roll set, the seaweed was crispy and the rice was perfect. It's also delicious. I loved my salted edamame! The service was good enough to come back for more. This place is SOLID!
google avatar

Jenny T.

Yelp
Excellent freshly made sushi. Make sure to eat ot right away to enjoy those fresh seaweed wrap. It crunches! Texture is everything ! Fast bites, quick serive and friendly. Go have a try!!!
google avatar

Jazlene T.

Yelp
The toro hand roll and spicy tuna are sensational. Only complaint is the spicy tuna crispy rice is a small portion, so expect to order something else. I sat at the bar and was quickly situated by the waitress. My items came out quickly and they give you the option of tap or fiji water ($6) It's a small bar style sushi/sashimi/hand roll joint. If I'm at the Aria again I would check it out if I'm looking for quick bites

Yelp
Tikka Bar is one of my fav quick and fast sushi roll lunch or dinner spot whenever im in Vegas. Located in Cosmopolitan in district 16 food court area. Just sit down and they will come and greet you. Menu: very simple. I ordered: The Highroller for $41- comes with 5 type of rolls, which are: Salmon Yellowtail Bay scallop Blue crab Tekka spicy tuna They are very fresh, cold crispy seafood with warm rice. You can substitute your seaweed with soy wrap for $1 more Since they are a part of mgm, you can charge it to your room.

Yelp
Great waitress who guided us and got us in, out, fed and happy. Sushi hand rolls were Filling and fun. Tuna was excellent. It is in a food court corner- hidden so it felt cozy. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Fun place to get your sushi fix. Sit at the bar, order some sake and enjoy! The high roller pack was good and very filling. I think 4 rolls would have been just perfect. The server was informative and courteous. Good place for some quick-casual fun sushi dining.

Yelp
The staff were so friendly and inviting, helping with suggestions for Hand rolls. The sushi was superb I've never had more fresh nigiri, they make you one hand roll at a time so the seaweed stays so fresh and crisp. My favorite was the blue crab and the scallop roll. Very fresh and delicious, they also had a great sake menu. We frequently ate here during our stay at Aria.

Yelp
Decided to try this new hand roll places after another Aces game. We were already "in the area" after a quick stop at Crystals. Food was delicious. Will definitely be back if we're in the area.
google avatar

Ry C.

Yelp
The staff were kind. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice was okay. The fish felt like a mishmash of shredded tuna, not really like a whole tuna cut. The ambiance was bar-like. Clean.

Yelp
Honestly, I was recovering from having a weekend bender at EDC, and I was craving something fresh and healthy after surviving off of small bites in the festival. I was looking at sushi or poke around the area, and Temaki was the spot I wanted to go to for dinner. This is located at the Aria in the Proper Eats Food Court, which is on the 2nd level of the Aria. It's not hard to miss, but it is tucked away in a corner towards the bar. I was staying at Polo Towers, so going to the Aria was not that bad of a walk. Temaki offers Poke bowls, sushi, sashimi, appetizers, and hand rolls, but you have to sit at the bar to experience the hand rolls sadly. You can order off your phone or at the kiosks they have around Proper Food to order and pay. You will get an automated text message when your order is ready. I wanted something light, but filling, so I ended up getting the poke bowl which was $26. With tax, I believe it was closer to $28-29. This included tuna, sushi rice, avocado, cucumber, daikon, seaweed salad, crispy shallots, and spicy aioli. The rice did have a nice sweet and savory sauce drizzled on top, which made the bowl come together. The tuna tasted fresh and light, and the additives to this bowl really tied everything together. I will say that this bowl is a bit smaller on the portions, but the flavors were spot on. The only con is that they do not offer other options for poke bowls, so you're stuck eating Tuna. If you're not too hungry, but could use something filling, I'd recommend trying the bowl out! I'll have to come back and try their hand rolls because their toro looks amazing!

Yelp
We ate at Temaki 3 times while in Vegas this past week. The hand rolls were the best I've ever had We enjoyed the yellowtail specialty platter, yellowtail nigiri, yellowtail hand rolls- all were expertly prepared by Tim and served with a smile by Saida. The blue crab hand roll was exquisite! The Sapporo beer and spicy tuna crunchy rice topped off our last visit. Definitely recommend Temaki for your next trip to the Aria! Loved visiting with Saida and Tim - awesome folks!! We will be back!
google avatar

Renee S.

Yelp
Fresh sushi great little bit roll. I enjoyed the crispy shallots they put inside the roll. It really made it special. I will say that it was kind of pricey for such a small roll for that price, I would expect something a little thicker. Best bar is located inside of the Aria hotel in the food hall.

Yelp
Located inside of the Proper Eats Food Hall next to the main bar is Temaki Bar. Out of all the places in the food hall, this was the only place I tried along with oysters in the main bar area. My friends wanted to keep coming back every single day. Personally, I would have tried places outside the food hall on the other days because I like trying new places. Employees here are really nice, helpful and attentive. As soon as you're seated they provide cups of water and get your order in right away. They make the rolls pretty quick and serve them one hand roll at a time so that the seaweed is fresh and extra crunchy! Everything was fresh! Throughout the 3 day weekend, I ordered: 2 Toro rolls 1 Hamachi roll 1 Bay Scallop 1 Yellowtail Specialty Sashimi 1 Blue Crab roll My friends got the special Loco Lobo (I think thats the name) hand roll which had tajin in it, lobster hand roll, salmon nigiri, blue crab roll, & multiple toro hand rolls. Everything I ordered was delicious! I would probably pass on the scallop roll next time but would get all the others again. I wish they had uni hand rolls. I would totally order that! My favorite would have to be the toro rolls and hamachi specialty sashimi. My 6 items for the weekend totaled about $90. Bit pricy but so is everything else in Vegas

Yelp
Quick bites inside the Aria hotel! 2nd floor, Nice staff, fresh sushi & nice smaller sized portions. Maybe not the best for someone ravenous, but we popped by for a light fresh lunch and we're not disappointed. I had the tuna poke & my s/o had the 3 hand roll special. About $24-26 for our plates each & goes up from there. Hand rolls and sushi can also be individually ordered and priced from $7-15 depending on what fish is ordered.

Yelp
Husband wanted to grab a quick lunch. He got laughing Buddha and I decided to order from Temaki bar. Honestly a solid choice. I decided on their poke bowl and it had tons of sauce. Great flavors and everything tasted pretty fresh. The bowl filled me up pretty quickly and I still had some left! Staff was nice when I went to pick up. Overall a great experience at the food hall.

Yelp
If you have tried Kazunori in LA or NY and you are craving for handrolls in LV, I would say this comes pretty close to it. Their blue crab handrolls are 90% there compared to Kazunori. This one is in Proper Eats hall located all the way in the back near the bar. Right now they have their special handroll which is spicy yuzu shrimp handroll and it's really good too. I wish they had uni handrolls. The only negative was that there's no real waiting line structure. My partner and k didn't know where to stand to wait fit the next available seats and no acknowledgment from the workers while we were waiting. I wish they told us where to wait or let us know where is the next available seats.

Yelp
This place was a godsend while I stayed at Aria. I came here twice in one day to really get my handroll fix. The staff were friendly, and so accommodating! They let me switch out rolls in the sets, and continually checked if we needed more water or anything else. I got the 5-roll set (sub tuna for another yellowtail), and then the 3-roll set (sub tuna for toro for extra $). My favorites were yellowtail and the crab. I ordered the toro because I usually loveeee fatty salmon, but it was pretty mid so I recommend staying to their set rolls. I also am not a fan of their cut rolls; I'd definitely recommend sitting down and doing the handroll experience. As far as Vegas prices go, this place is competitive and you'd be surprised how few little rolls it takes to fill you up. If you're about the late night eats, note that while their hours say they close at 11pm, the last call is actually 10:30pm so try to show up a little earlier to ensure you get seated. Will very likely be back!! :)

Yelp
Temaki Bar isn't a bad sushi stop but think compared to what's close by, it's a bit pricy for its offerings and presentation. Temaki is located in the new Aria food court on the second floor near the center back. You can order takeout (via the QR codes all over the place) or sit and eat off their menu. I went ahead and took a seat. Temaki has the usual handroll offerings (package deals that range from about $25 for 3 handrolls to $50+ for 5 handrolls) as well as being able to order a la carte. A little different than other handroll spots, there were also options for other kinds of food items. I opted to get a poke bowl (which was recommended by a coworker) and a blue crab handroll. The poke bowl itself was pretty good. Mainly focused on tuna with the spicy aioli doing a lot of the heavy lifting in making for a a tasty experience. The blue crab handroll on the other hand was disappointing. The crab itself felt like it wasn't fresh and the wrap itself being fairly so-so tasting. Presentation was also lacking. All plates/cups were paper/plastic and felt super cheap. And the pricing was high. The poke bowl was $26 and the blue crab handroll was $10ish. Service was super nice though and wasn't too busy on a Friday late afternoon to find a spot. And overall, I like the vibe of the food hall being fairly spacious and easy to get to. If you have time, I would personally recommend going elsewhere, but don't think this is a bad spot if you want a sushi fix that's in the Aria.

Yelp
Came for a quick bite and was amazed by the service and the food. Saida was my server and provided attentive service and was very kind and friendly would come back just for that alone. Lenny prepared my rolls and answered every question i had and was also very friendly on a busy day. 5/5 would return!

Yelp
Just did not think this place was all that great. The packaging of the sushi was not appealing, wasabi and ginger in packets? The sushi was very average. Just not impressed!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent find. Don't be afraid of the weird food hall kiosks, they have barstools here just like Cosmo and you can order from the human. Great find! From now on I'm coming to this one.

Yelp
Business is located in Proper Eats Food Hall at promendade of Aria Hotel. Business is one of 10 vendors of Proper Eats which is located Aria Promenade. Hours are from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm for Sunday to Thursday; and 11:00 am to 11:00 pm for Friday and Saturday. Menu has cut rolls, speciality rolls, poke bowl, sake, and beverages. We had to order through kiosk and received text for order. When order was ready, I received a text. Our order was spicy tuna roll. It wasn't too spicy.

Jamie W.

Yelp
We went there a couple of days ago for lunch and even though they weren't busy whatsoever, we received the worst service we have ever had there! The manager and servers were busy chatting with one another in the corner instead of doing their job. Our drinks sat empty and since they were not even looking at us, we couldn't even get their attention.
google avatar

Joyce W.

Yelp
Q: What should you do if you're addicted to seaweed? A: Sea kelp "Eat here. Live forever." Temaki Bar: Handroll, Sushi, Sake, will celebrate traditional sushi-making with Chef JoJo Ruiz, local veteran chef and San Diego native at the helm. Since we weren't sitting at the bar to enjoy hand rolls, a basic salmon makiroll was ordered. I believe it was about $16 which isn't a cute price tag but hey, you're in Vegas. So how was it? Well it's a basic makiroll so it's pretty much how you would expect. Every box comes with a dish for your soy sauce and a packet of wasabi. No packet ginger here though. Oh well. It's okay eats! I wouldn't mind trying their hand rolls next time though.
google avatar

Yelp
Welcome to Tekka Bar's sister restaurant, now located in Proper Eats Food Hall in Aria!! I was so happy to have found another restaurant like this since Tekka (located in Cosmopolitan) is almost always packed. The menu is very similar but having tried both, I enjoyed this place slightly more. I ordered the Yellowtail Speciality Sashimi and the 5 hand roll set. Everything was so fresh and my favorites were the yellowtail and bay scallops with their signature dipping sauces (spicy temaki sauce and yuzukosho additional $3, but very worth). Chef Lenny prepared my set and was very knowledgeable in recommendations of fish. Service here was quick and attentive. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!
google avatar

Maria F.

Yelp
Our favorite place in the food court. We've tried a few of f their items but our favorite is the yellowtail cut roll. One day, we ordered three separate times! Yes, we like it that much! The green tea is good. Iced and refreshing! I suggest trying their other options. You may like something else better. As for me, yellowtail cut roll FTW! Enjoy!
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Had a late evening dinner after an afternoon of travel. All of the handrolls were delicious as well as the yellowtail sashimi. Star of the dinner was the spicy tuna crispy rice. We were lucky enough to get two orders as then ended up running out. Even the sake from the can was refreshing.
google avatar

Caroline L.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed in the size of the sushi rolls! This is an average sushi spot and compared to Cosmopolitan's Tekka Bar this is a no for me. Service was pretty fast and the ambiance here is more chill and fancy since it's brand new. The hand rolls are definitely a better choice than the rolls. Coming in at around $14-$15 per rolls, it was a bit expensive for what you get even with consideration of casino prices. I enjoyed the Spicy tuna cut roll with its chili garlic crunch and will have to try the other spicy tuna roll called Moonlight Cut Roll if I ever come back.
google avatar

Leyna K.

Yelp
More like 3.5 stars but I'm rounding down. I ordered a yellowtail cut roll via the link posted around the food hall. It was ready within TWO minutes, which was great but maybe also a red flag?? The menu item description listed green onions AND the photo also showed green onions but mine didn't have any. The roll tasted just fine but wasn't anything to rave about. Wish I had gotten a photo but I was starving after being on the road for hours! The packaging is quite nice but very large for the portion sizes. I hope they're recycled!!
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
Great place for a quick bite. All hand rolls and rolls are amazing. Friendly staffs. Quick service.

Ken M.

Yelp
Fresh and tasted great. I did find it strange that you can't order the rolls to go. I just wanted to go back to my room, eat and watch the game while relaxing. Instead, they made me sit by myself on a wooden stool at the counter, and ate uncomfortably. I get that you want to have the nori crispy, but not letting me leave the counter in a food court is a bit messed up. Change your policy.
google avatar

Shane C.

Yelp
I love a good hand roll spot! Temaki Bar is located at the Proper Eats Hall in the Aria. We came late and sat at the bar. Our server Randall was kind and energetic. Note, you can only order long rolls to go because the hand rolls gets soggy. My bf and I ordered the 5 hand roll set to share. They give you one roll at a time so pace yourselves. Each roll was fresh and we left satisfied. If you're in the mood for hand rolls and staying at one of the resorts near the Aria, stop by Temaki!
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
Yummy hand rolls here if you're looking for a snack or a meal! It's located in the new food hall of Aria hotel. The bar seatings are first come first serve. We went mid afternoon on Monday and were able to get a seat right away. Got the 3 hand roll set which was salmon, yellowtail and spicy tuna. All were yummy and had perfect balance of rice to fish ratio! Didn't enjoy the spicy tuna as much as the sriracha was kinda overpowering the whole thing. If you want hand cut rolls, you can order on the touch screens around the food hall to pick up and you'll get a text when it's ready. It is comparable to the popular hand roll spot at Cosmo but without the crazy lines. If hand rolls with fresh fish and crunchy seaweed is your thing, definitely check this place out! Oh and don't forget to order the side of their house made dipping sauce, the yuzu sauce is amazing!
google avatar

Janette N.

Yelp
I was in Aria and I wanted a quick bite so of course I paid Temaki Bar located in Proper Eats Food Hall a visit again. Although they do offer takeout, eating at the counter will ensure that your dining experience and food quality will be better. My favorite rolls this time around was the salmon and tuna, while my least favorite was the bay scallops as it was a bit fishy hence the one star deduction.
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
First time dining at the new food hall at aria and we chose this hand roll place. Quick service, fresh food, crispy seaweed. No complaints!
google avatar

Bo B.

Yelp
Great little bar to eat some handrolls. I liked the shrimp yuzu one, the scallops one, and the blue crab one. The spicy tuna rice was not as good as other spots so would skip this. The handrolls came out fast. We didn't have to wait too long.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
If you're looking to eat garlic chips for lunch, this is the place for you. Pretty bad sushi. While it is technically sushi, I would personally not call what I had sushi. I don't even know how to describe it. It's like the bastardization of sushi created by AI based on popular food trends. Half my sushi was crunchy for no apparent reason. The other half was close to flavorless. At no point during my 3 rolls did I think there was fish in my mouth. I wasn't eating fish; I was eating pungent flavored herbs. My mouth is literally still burning from ten minutes ago from all the onions and garlic. There is literally a superior hand roll place fifteen minutes away at the Cosmopolitan food court. If you insist on eating here, the only "good" roll I had was the yellowtail cut roll. You will regret it though.
google avatar

Apple S.

Yelp
The options at the new aria food court aren't that great. But out of all this seems to be pretty good for a decent price. The three hand roll was good.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Perfect spot to take a break from the sweltering sun and the pool. Yeah I know it's annoying that they don't allow hand rolls to go but I understand the rationale. Hand rolls are best consumed immediately for the optimal level of freshness and crispiness. All the rolls we tried were great. Service was friendly. Take a break from the loud Vegas casino and enjoy.
google avatar

Les L.

Yelp
Temaki Bar makes made-to-order handrolls in the Proper Eats Food Hall inside the Aria. There is a curved counter where you can sit in front of the sushi chefs but you can also order to-go. I ordered a blue crab hand roll, a salmon hand roll, and edamame to-go. It was all made reasonably fast and the sushi was packed in a paper box. Sadly, the flaps of the box smashed my blue crab handroll but it all still tasted fine. The edamame was a welcome vegetable side dish. All in all, I appreciate a healthier food option at the food hall.
google avatar

Jen S.

Yelp
Super easy to order and pick up. Sushi was fresh. Portion size was smaller than I would have hoped but it's Vegas.
google avatar

Alonzo A.

Yelp
This spot is way better than Tekka and that other spot inside Resorts World. Fresher too. I started with the spicy tuna crispy rice which was a cool way to start with a nice crunch. The 4 roll set was up next and was more than enough food. All were Mt favorites, scallop may have been the best though :) Pro tip: get the yuzukosho & spicy mayo dipping sauces. The only issue I have is the same issue as the other 2 temaki spots on the strip...service flow. Understandably, this a quick service spot. But give me a minute to digest my roll before you lay the next one in front of me. Especially since seaweed loses it's crispness quickly which is essential for temaki. Slow down folks, don't rush greatness. I'd def come back in a heartbeat though. It's on the 2nd floor of Aria inside Proper Eats food hall. Get some!

Jeralin S.

Yelp
The people working there could have been a little more friendly and could have helped explain things better . No one helped or explained anything . I ordered something to go without knowing it was to go and they served it in a box and charged $20 for literally nothing . Unbelievable. The food was good, especially the crab and lobster .

Nguyen L.

Yelp
Love this place. convenient, yummy, cheap and fast. Must stop when in Vegas. Crispy tuna is to die for.

Adrian R.

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite but it took 30 minutes for the crispy tuna rice. They only had one server and managers that didn't know what they were doing. if you looking for something fast and effective stay away from here !
