"There’s a seasonal waterfall on this 2.5 to 4.6 mile trail (we like to do the Skullrock extension to get in a bigger workout)—and there’s also stunning water views. It’s a dog-free trail, great for kids, and parking is simple (there’s a lot at the bottom that costs $10). Photos: Hikespeak"

Yelp
Since our first visit, this trail has become a favorite for our entire family. With multiple trails to choose from, it caters to hikers of all levels, from beginners to experienced adventurers. Although it can be quite a hike, the feeling of accomplishment upon reaching the waterfall is truly rewarding. Even on hot days, the abundant shade makes the trail enjoyable. Parking is convenient, with free street parking near the entrance (On sunset) and paid parking closer to the trailhead for around $12.

Yelp
This beautiful trail can be extra beautiful in early Spring when runoff from the rain creates a waterfall and streams. The path is fairly easy in the beginning near the parking lot, with lush vegetation and plenty of shade. After you pass the various ranger homes and conference buildings the grade begins to get steeper, then more rockier. The reward is a bridge with a waterfall and small pool. Many hikers stop here, have a rest or snack and go back. If you carry on , the trail becomes more challenging but you eventually come to an area with great views before the path winds downward. Completing the loop back to the parking lot is a good accomplishment for the novice hiker.

Yelp
In A Nutshell: -The Temescal Canyon Trail is just okay, but could be better if whoever is in charge would cut back some of the overgrown brush & branches along the trails. -If you are tick adverse & don't want to chance getting them on you especially during the summer months, I wouldn't suggest this trail. -I did a tick check & did not get any ticks, but the chances of them landing on you are exponentially greater due to the overgrown brush you rub up against. -Most people hike the various trails, but I decided to do a nice 4 mile loop run. -The workout itself is very satisfying along w/ the nice, overcast weather. -I would imagine the views to be nice after the low lying clouds dissipate. -Parking is $12 per day, just pay using your credit card at the parking machine. Overall, this is a good workout if you don't mind the narrow trail systems w/ overgrown plants & trees.

Yelp
Nice trail with nice restrooms but run by the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority which has hidden cameras everywhere and places stop signs around corners to extort money out of people. This is all over the internet and there is even an LA Times article about how they will take you to collections and ruin your credit if you roll through a stop sign not placed by any proper road authority early on a weekday morning. Go somewhere to hike where they dont have hidden cameras to scam you.

Yelp
The hike from Temescal Canyon to Will Rogers park is gorgeous! If you're a morning person this hike is a great way to start your day and you might see some deer and rabbits along the way!

Yelp
This was a nice moderate trail. Parking is $12 or free along sunset boulevard. Views were nice at the top, you get a 360 of LA. There were a lot of dogs and families along the trail.

Yelp
After too much rain in LA that made me super depressed and ready to pack my bags and get the heck out of California... the positive side was this waterfall hike was overflowing and beautiful! Not only do you get a nice view of the city and ocean, there is a mix of terrains like cactus and shady trees. (Bring sunscreen for the openings where you might end up lookin like a lobster by the end if you aren't prepared!) There was so much rain last week that the last 10 minutes of the trail after the waterfall where we had to jump over little rivers and pools covering the path, but tbh it was a fun adventure and we bonded with lots of strangers as we all tried not to fall in and helped each other across. Recommend!! Get out of the city and clear your mind. (We did the loop starting with the canyon trail side ending at waterfall btw)
