"After helping launch Temp° in Chula Vista last fall, chef Steve Brown has left the South Bay restaurant to focus on creating a brick-and-mortar home for Cosecha, his signature upscale pop-up. Despite some stops and starts, Brown says he’s on the verge of signing a lease on a centrally-located space that will house a catering kitchen and hold an intimate 14-seat dining counter where the chef will cook nightly prix-fixe dinners in an environment he likens to a Michelin-caliber sushi restaurant. Operating partners Mikey Knab and Tecture design group will continue to run Temp°, which serves a bistro menu as well as steakhouse specials and has been well received by the Chula Vista community. Starting this weekend, the restaurant will start delivering food to neighboring beer spot Bar Sin Nombre, with plans to extend the service to Thr3e Punk Ales and other area beer bars and tasting rooms." - Candice Woo

As I entered this restaurant it seemed nice and cozy, until you sit down and notice that the decor contradicts itself for a more upscale restaurant. The food I have to say was overly salted. Not having an option between ice water and room temperature was a disappointed since they only serve room temp. All the food we ordered just was way too salty and I feel like I'm heavy on the salt but this meal was too much. We were not able to finish our meal after paying over 80 dollars for a dinner for 2. I don't think we will be back, for the price I would rather take the drive and eat in little Italy or downtown. They need to improve.

Cleverly named menu items with good flavor. I had the "We'll Always Have Paris" - their french toast, and while the flavor was great it was a little under cooked and came out with a few whole berries instead of the macerated berries the menu listed. Despite that, definitely planning to come try this place again for lunch or dinner.

This is the kind of food you'd expect to get in downtown San Diego or other hot spots. The food was top notch. However, when we asked for modifications to how the plates were described on the menu we were told they had to check with the chef as he has particular ways he presents his food. Thankfully the chef was okay with our requests. Our requests were simple, no cheese or eggs scrambled instead of sunny side up.

3 Stars because it was good but not great. It's probably the only nice place for a decent meal in South Bay but it's a bit pricey for what you get. At the end, we had a large bill and still hungry. Portions are small. Ingredients are good. There are other "great and fantastic" restaurants in San Diego who serve small portions but give you the "wow" factor. If we want to stay local, which I prefer to do to support small local business, we'll probably go back again to see if our experience is different.

What a total disappointment! Was so looking forward to this restaurant as the menu sounded tasty and to have an upscale restaurant in Chula Vista would of been great. We tried this restaurant for brunch. Do not order the crab Benedict’s....it’s fake crab. Who does that! Cheap sell out. The eggs were not cooked properly. Yes, they are suppose to be poached and runny, but the white skin was still raw and slimmy. The country breakfast with the fried chicken was still raw and pink in the middle. Very dangerous. That is a serious issue! Had to send it back and couldn’t stomach ordering anything else in replacement. Out of 7 plates, 2 were bearable, which were the chiliquilies, and that was sub par. What a let down, good luck to them....hope they hire some chefs that can cook within health code standards.
