Went to see my first play here. The venue was absolutely beautiful and the theater was just the right size. We ended up with front row seats and I personally wouldn't recommend it! I spent the entire play with my neck on fire and I couldn't see the folks on the back of the stage. If I were to go again, I would be no closer than the 3rd row back.

Google
So far, I haven’t been to any of the shows, but they have a great lineup of theatre productions, and the free exhibit they offer is really neat. I love that there is a Starbucks inside and the view of the lake and the landscaping is so beautiful at sunset. There are cute rabbits outside, too.

Google
Go see their current Gallery exhibition The Return of the Force there thru May 18. Excellent exhibit - the art & the inclusion of the space as part of the exhibit. Be sure to check out the restrooms - just, wow.

Google
I am an actor, and I have worked in the theater there a couple of times, ( I was just there as an understudy last night) and I have been there as an audience member as well. It is beautiful! The scenic town lake is lovely, and the bar and gallery are a great way to pass time before your show begins. Backstage is wonderful. They are a pro establishment, it's pristine, there are several bathrooms, and the dressing rooms are spacious and include a bathroom with 2 stalls, 2 sinks, and a shower. There is a small lounge area, and the stage, lighting, and sound setups are fantastic. I feel very at ease there. There are 2 theatres within the center for live stage performances. One is large, and the other is about mid-size and provides a more intimate theatre experience. I love it there.

Google
Tempe Center for the Arts is a beautiful entertainment structure. It's modern design is reminiscent of Frank Loyd Wrights work. Inside, the seating has four horseshoe levels that surround the performance stage. The acoustics are great. The buildings location is perfectly placed along the scenic south shore of the Salt River. I love this venue.

Jon Gomez

Google
I recently attended an Arizona Wind Symphony concert which was a sold out event, at this venue. It's a fantastic facility with multiple performance venues, excellent art gallery, bar, gift shop, and great view of the Tempe Town Lake.

Google
Bob and Jean A love story was amazing. We were in the last row and still felt we had great seats and could see the stage.

Google
The AZ heat is rising. So naturally I divert into ANYWHERE with AC. I thankfully and serendipitously stumbled into TCAA only to find one of the coolest concepts in "Star Wars: The 777." Lynn blessed me with her customer service and she deserves it all. Thank you! #paylynnmore

Yelp
Despite living in Tempe for years, I hadn't been here until recently! What a great venue. Parking was easy in the nearby garage and validated at the ticketed event. (Phoenix Gay Mens Chorus -- highly recommend their shows as well!) Inside there was a true bar area as well as a small bar cart. I didn't stop by the actual bar but did go to the bar cart. Drink options were really nice -- they had really great options for various boozes and then 2 signature cocktails that had fun garnishes. I had something with mango and rosemary and tequila. The prices were very reasonable! The theater itself was small and very comfortable. We had seats around the 4th or 4th row center and had a great view but it looked like all the seats would have a good view. Bathrooms were very nice and clean. I also saw they had an art exhibit that looked fun and signage for a number of upcoming events. I'm not sure why I hadn't been yet but will be coming by more often!

Yelp
This is such a beautiful visual arts center. I love when I am walking or skateboarding around Tempe Town Lake and pass by this place at night. You can see the neon signs through the window from the outside by the waterfall. Tempe Center for the Arts is both a theater and an art gallery. They are located on the southwest side of Tempe Town Lake near the dam and the pedestrian bridge. Tempe Center for the Arts is not even twenty years old yet. It still looks brand new. I have a seen a few shows here that were put on by Arizona Theatre Company in the 600-seat proscenium theater. They also have another theater that hosts orchestra concerts and other live events. The art gallery is free to check out. It hosts different large and small-scale art exhibitions from various artists each season. Outside is a sculpture garden. Arizona Theatre Company has been around for over fifty years and always put on a good show. Ticket prices are what you would pay at any small theater. You can find a list of their shows on the Tempe Center for the Arts website. Sometimes they host free Ballet Under the Stars nights just outside on the lawn by the lake. We have gotten groups together and set up lawn chairs and have always had a good time. They have open-mic nights on Walk-In Wednesdays and pianists that come in and perform for free in their Lakeside Room. There is a bar that serves drinks and light bites during nights that they have a show. If you don't have an opportunity to catch a theater show here, at least come by and enjoy one of their free events that they offer and check out the art gallery. This is a beautiful place to visit. There is a parking garage to the west or park a little farther in the dirt lot for free.

Yelp
First concert at Tempe Center for the Arts. Excellent venue, sound and scenery. Drop off, parking and access were easy. Ticket pricing was reasonable and student tickets. They also validate your parking.. I like it! Saw Kandice Springs September 24, 2024. Loved it!!

Yelp
Love this beautiful venue. Been here multiple times for dance shows. So thankful for the comfortable seating! It's also right next to Tempe town lake and a walking bridge so if you have time go walk around near by and enjoy the views. If you park in the garage near by bring in your parking ticket because they might be able to validate it depending on the show.

Yelp
I was so disappointed in the Doo Wop Project concert tonight. It was actually a Christmas concert and not much doo wop was played. Had I know that it was mostly Christmas music, I would not have purchased tickets. It's a talented group but they didn't perform as advertised. The Tempe Center for the Arts is FREEZING! It was so cold in there that I wish I had brought gloves. I had a leather jacket, flannel shirt and camisole but I was so cold! Not coming back here.

Yelp
I still love it and it is lovely but am updating to give advice. They need to add a food option here or maybe contract with a local food truck or add sandwiches to go, premade at the bar instead of just chips and such. Other venues have fridges with snack packs in them and cold sandwiches and such. The last time I took in a show I ran into some issues getting here with freeway closures, a major accident, and then after two hours, gosh a football game so yet another 1 hour delay with the wrong detour. Grrrr! I was planning on going to an old college haunt for dinner but that did not work out with the delays and football game traffic/ parking issues. It literally took me 3 hours to get here instead of 25 minutes. I was starving and aggravated by the time I finally arrived to find the parking had even changed to a lot instead of open air parking closer to the door. So I had to make a running dash of it to make it inside on time. I am self evolved enough to know and understand that my aggravation is through no fault of this lovely venue. But I was sad when I found no food options except bar chips. This is certainly not the end of the world but just throwing out that thought since I heard other patrons saying the same thing. They do offer a free voucher to park in the garage or at least they did the last time I was there. It is still a simply gorgeous venue with top notch entertainment presented. I will be visiting again next week but will make sure to eat a large lunch. lol

Yelp
What a great and beautiful venue! Beautiful views with all the glass on the building. Nice bar area with beautiful views highly recommend seeing a show there.

Yelp
I regularly receive City of Tempe emails and was excited to hear about a free Backstage Pass event put on by the Tempe Center for the Arts and Tempe councilwoman, Doreen Garlid. My boyfriend and I have attended performances at the Tempe Center for the Arts in the past, but we were excited to have a chance to tour the facility and learn more about its architecture. This was a fun event on 3/2/2022. We parked in their new covered parking lot and were able to have our parking ticket validated for this event. The tour started at 5:30 pm and was led by Tempe Center for the Arts staff and one of the architects who designed the building. We got to explore the Lakeside Room, gallery, sculpture garden (I didn't even know they had a sculpture garden!), and backstage area. The information was fascinating and we were able to ask lots of questions. The evening ended with a reception at 6:30 pm outside on the patio, overlooking the picturesque Tempe Town Lake. Councilwoman Doreen Garlid answered questions and chatted with the crowd. We even got to hear about a friendly ghost that inhabits the Tempe Center for the Arts. It was truly a fantastic event!

Yelp
I enjoy the variety of entertainment from storytelling to the different genres of music offered Including Afrobeat and jazz. I especially enjoyed the evening featuring three local songwriters performing their work.

Yelp
My daughter and I attended Barefoot in the Park this afternoon. We were very impressed with everything from the parking to the venue to the views , staff were so friendly, and the production was just adorable. We will definitely keep an eye on upcoming performances and go again.

Yelp
I've been here several times in the past few months. It is once of the most spectacular venues in the East Valley. It is iconic in the City of Tempe with its pitched roof soaring toward the skies. You've probably seen in the Sky Harbor Airport. I attended a concert there this past weekend and the acoustics are great. The sound resonates throughout the entire auditorium and it's lovely. The seats are really comfy too. For this concert, the parking was complimentary. My guess is that not many folks knew that since many parked in the adjacent dirt lot. I was going to a pay to park in the structure regardless. What I love about the large auditorium is the wood on the walls. It warms the place and give is such an elegant look. I was told my the architect that the wood is cherry stained oak. There is a rooftop space as well that I was able to tour as part of my leadership group in Tempe. Also there is a wonderful venue in the space located near the negative edge pool. My goal is to be a regular patron. I love being there!

Yelp
I've been here for a speaking event but not for a concert until last month. I went to see Live from Laurel Canyon, a compilation of music from the 1970's. This is a really nice venue. We had great seats, but it was a little smaller than some other similar venues I've been to so it looked like every seat was a good seat. They required vaccine cards for entry (or a covid test) and they do check the cards.

Yelp
My first and last time coming to this arts center. Went to the see The Whiz. The Arts Center sent notice to everyone that there was construction going on and advised patrons to arrive 30 minutes and that we could park in the Ashe Avenue Parking Garage what they didn't mention was that in addition to the construction going on around them, the street the garage was on was under construction and we spent time just trying to figure out where to go. We arrive at the parking garage mentioned in the email ONLY to find out the attendants had no clue what I was talking about when I mentioned they were suppose to accept our tickets for admission. I then had to sit there and read it to them and they let us in. On top of that, the email also mentioned that there would be shuttles to take people from the parking garage to the the arts center. Of course, we couldn't find the shuttle and when I called the number on the email to the box office, I was informed that 1. That parking lot didn't have anything to do with the center and 2. There was no shuttle there. I have included the email that was sent. We arrived and no one gave us a play billboard or directed us to where we could sit although one of the women told us someone would. Unfortunately, this left such a bad taste in my mouth, I would never be back.

Yelp
LP & the Vinyls from San Diego rocked this place last night. Jazz adaptations of some classic 70s thru 90s Beatles, Preston and Oasis by this awesome quartet. LP (Leonard's) love for music shows in the most genuine smile I've ever seen Only thing missing was a dance floor cos people could hardly stay in their seats...

Yelp
Horrible Way-finding- We were hoping to make a day of a Saturday Family Workshop. The actual class was great! But figuring out where to park without any signage anywhere and super unhelpful front desk staff, just made this long drive from Surprise, AZ an abysmal experience. Why on earth would an art center not have signage. Forget about them missing the opportunity to be creative with signs for parking, main entry, etc. this establishment just didn't bother with any signs at all. Except a slew of employee parking only signs they do a really bad job of informing first-time guests where to park. Be prepared to walk I. In the hot heat on foot to get to the building. Not fun at all.

Yelp
Nice gift shop though not open during evening performances. 42nd Street was a wonderful production here. Sound is good and seats comfortable in an intimate auditorium. Brian Simpson was a phenomenal show. The setting is very nice near the lake with soft lighting. I wish the Edge would sell appetizers, then they'd get 5 stars. If I can manage to get here early enough there is art to view I. The gallery.

Yelp
Great find today, I attended a free event at Tempe Center for the Arts (sponsored by Northern Trust), and the first thing that I thought was... who the heck is Northern Trust? I need to send them a thank you note : ) I attended Performance with a View: Tchaikovsky Piano Trio - Free Concert and it was great. They even had free refreshments, that were top notch. They were provided by Atlessa or something like that and I was very impressed. TCA has several different spaces and areas within the building (see my pics), this particular event was at the Lakeshore room, which has gorgeous views of the Tempe Lake.

Yelp
What a beautiful venue! Excellent mid sized auditorium with great acoustic's. Saw a great concert here last night. Not a bad seat in the house even the balconies. Great views of the lake from the lobby.
google avatar

Yahdinah S.

Yelp
It was amazing Oli on Jazz and Jackiem on saxophone. Went for my birthday all by myself I really enjoyed it. It was my first time going to the Tempe Center for The Art. I will definitely be returning when the opportunity presents itself. Note sitting arrangements! The balcony seats are the best seats in the house. If you sit in the front row you're literally in front of the stage.

Yelp
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FACILITY!!! My wife and I got tickets to a play here and decided to give it a try, we drove all the way across Phoenix to Tempe with literally no idea what we were getting into. This Center is absolutely gorgeous and quite capable. WIth a theater for shows, a dance studio, and art studio, a full bar, and private rooms, this place has it all. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and the surrounding area looked safe and catered nice water views and the Tempe bridge. Our production of 42nd Street was well done and has encouraged us to attend more plays in the future. Hopefully at the Tempe Center for the Arts again! Parking was free for our event, something I will never complain about!

Traci H.

Yelp
I have always loved visiting and attending events at Tempe Center for the Arts but when I attended my first event after venues opened (from COVID closures) I had a small hiccup but ..... Michelle and her team righted the ship with ease, grace, empathy and a smile on their face. When they could have taken the easy route and just refunded my ticket - they instead took on the task of making the event work for me. For that, I am very grateful as I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and am happy I didn't have to miss it. Keep up the great work ladies !!

Yelp
Gorgeous location! The Tempe Center for the Arts has the best location in my opinion. It's right on the water and at night it is picture perfect. I've been to a couple shows there and an art exhibit. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's very clean and organized as well. Parking can be difficult at times, but if you bought tickets in advanced they email you with parking alternatives. I highly recommend checking out their calendar of events. They really have something for everyone.

Yelp
My first experience of this Center was during the graduation for a small private college in which I was teaching a few years ago, and I was impressed by the bold exterior design which seemed to reflect the mountains to the south. The theater inside was just as impressive - not a very capacious venue but with a pleasing modern design and spacious enough for a moderate-size audience. As part of the faculty during the graduation ceremony, I was able to use one of the dressing rooms for performing artists as well as see the areas behind the stage and I can say that indeed the theater was designed not just with the audience but also with the stage performers and crew in mind. Other areas within the Center include a studio, an art gallery, and spacious lobby/lounge areas. There is also a sculpture garden just outside the arts gallery. Recently I attended an arts workshop, listened to a discussion by artists who had a presentation that day at the studio, and relaxed at the Friday happy hour at the lounge and patio afterward. On various occasions, I have just wandered around the grounds to enjoy the scenery and the refreshing breezes at the promenade area between the Center and the Tempe Town Lake. This is truly a beautiful, fully utilized multi-function venue and a thoughtful gem offered to the public by the city of Tempe.

Yelp
Beautiful modern building, loved the high ceiling. Multiple beautiful theatre and located right next to the river, it's so beautiful! Plenty of parking and easy to access. We came here for Yelp Event, Alice wonderland rock and roll and we were so impressed how beautiful the theatre was and also we loved the performance very much. Will definitely comeback for more.

Yelp
We went to see a Childsplay show, Phantom Tollbooth. It was cute! The sets and props were really good. Fun thing to do with the kids. The whole center is gorgeous. I also love that they have happy hour with live music Thursdays to saturdays, definitely will be doing a date night soon to check that out.
google avatar

Kelly V.

Yelp
We saw a Stray Cat production here two weeks ago and it was great. (We didn't love the show but that isn't the Center's fault). Parking was a breeze, restrooms were clean and staff was waiting for us to tell us where to go. For a smaller theater with fold up seats, they were pretty comfortable. I look forward to coming back for our next two Stray Cat shows.

Yelp
I love this venue. The location is spectacular and the building it beautiful. They have great entertainment here and always have a great variety of artists. It's also a great location to take pictures for a special event.,

Ken B.

Yelp
Amazing venue my sister and I have been visiting the series by the Arizona republic storytellers project I would highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
I took my littles to see Childsplay production 'The Phantom Tollbooth' and they had a blast. The seating in the theater was excellent so my 6 year old could see equally well as my 11 year old, and the acoustics were also very good. The set was simple but effective and the actors were funny and engaging. I actually caught myself laughing out loud a couple of times despite the fact that the play is written for children. The play is thought provoking and the actors took questions from the smallest members of the audience after the show. They then they did a meet and greet for the children out in the lobby. Overall it was a surprisingly delightful experience and I will try to find a reason to come again now that I know what I good time my kids had with it.

Yelp
What a facility with awesome views and amazing architecture (as said by a non-architect!!) Came here for an awards ceremony and this place is absolutely amazing. Thinking of going to see a show here in the future. Would also be an awesome place to have any sort of meeting or awards banquet. Right off Tempe Town Lake the water flows right up to the building (almost literally) with beautiful arches and the dam nearby. The sights really are amazing especially around sunset. Inside the facility is amazing with glass walkways overhead and a modern feel, the facility really looks top notch. The bathrooms bring out the theater vibe with tile and old school glass lights. Inside, a coliseum setting with three balconies awaits. Overall, this facility is really impressive for similar places I've seen. It's high quality compared to most theaters around. This is definitely an impressive facility for any awards banquet, show, or conference. Beautiful architecture, modern designs and structures, along with the lake nearby really completes this facility. Looking forward to seeing a show here.

Yelp
I've been to Tempe Center for the Arts a handful of times, mostly for really fun events such as the Epik Dance Troop performance this past weekend, Ignite Phoenix, and the annual 20-30 Club Noche de Gourmet. The facility is gorgeous. It sits right on Tempe Town Lake. It has ample parking, and it's pretty centrally located. There are three levels with stairs and elevators, and plenty of restrooms as well. Whether you're considering going to an event at Tempe Center for the Arts as a guest or thinking about hosting an event there yourself, go for it! Just make sure I get an invite as I'd love to join you!

Yelp
Headed over here to take a peek at their Pop Culture exhibit and were blown away once we walked inside. The place is really nicely done, and has great ambiance. They have regular free exhibits in their smaller gallery, which is where our Pop Culture adventure was located. The exhibit had a variety of pieces from local collectors on display and it was fun to take time and look at everything. They were nice enough to allow us to take photos of the collection and we were able to get some fun ones with a "life-size" Marvin the Martian, which was really nicely made. The greeter and art exhibit staff members were both extremely helpful and nice both to us and to the others we saw venturing through. They were also hosting a dance recital for little ones, so we saw some adorable little ones in fun outfits as an added bonus. Overall: A Nice layout, helpful staff, fun exhibit. We'll have to find a show we can make it to, just so we can visit here again!

Yelp
Was here for Ballet Under the Stars on 9/24, which was hosted at the outdoor ampitheatre on the lawns (300+ attendance). Beautiful architecture and public space - great nighttime views of the Mill Ave. bridge from lakeside walkways overlooking Tempe Town Lake, outdoor fountains, spacious lawns. Perfect to catch a concert or view the exhibit collection and a leisurely stroll along the lake afterwards. The Center has both a 600-seat theatre as well as a 200-seat studio and hosts diverse, multi-media programming as well as ongoing exhibitions. The Center is well laid out with plentiful parking, including overflow lots at Hardy/Rio Salado.

Maribel H.

Yelp
We were invited to watch a show that had our kids & family members performing. The theater did not take into consideration our culture & how we support our children in performances. For example when you have a dance company that has 100 kids & where each child has a support network of 5-10 family members and friends not including the general public. Why would you put them in the smallest theater in the building, that is inconsiderate that family traveled from far away & were told to leave the theater. How could you guys have the audacity to ask family & friends to leave the theater because it was at maximum capacity thus robbing the opportunity to watch their family member perform. I would not recommend this theater

Yelp
Please tell me you eventually get tired of sitting at your house watching TV! Take a step away from your couch and buy a ticket to a show at the Tempe Center for the Arts. Everyone deserves deeper enrichment and new experiences. Not only is this an incredibly beautiful venue with a negative edge wading pool but it is also a full service place for entertainment. Think, a bar and snacks! Tonight we (me, my Dad and 4 year old daughter) saw a 55 minute play, called "Phantom of the Toll Booth", and it was so fun to watch! All ages enjoyed it equally and I'm so happy to expose my little one to the Arts. The story was rich, actors were colorful and the meaningful message was not lost on me. Especially, in this age of too much screen time and technology. I highly recommend getting tickets to a show here. Be sure to save time afterwards to walk along the bridge and stroll the Tempe Town lake walk. There is so much to do and see! This would be a great place to go to for a date, for entertainment for children, by yourself.... just go!

Yelp
Arizona inspired architecture; circles and triangles, and Arizona inspired elements; water, fire, zeroscape, dominate the Tempe Center for the Arts. They have a full Fall 07-Spring 08 schedule posted on their web site. Go for a show, but it's beautiful enough to enjoy walking around Tempe Town Lake at Sunset.
google avatar

Marie B.

Yelp
Watched a play here. Very nice seating and gorgeous theater. The best thing is the view from the patio. Overlooks Tempe lake. There are many good performances that take place every day here. We picked up info and plan on going back!

Juan M.

Yelp
Beautiful architecture. Great shows are held here throughout the year. Seats are comfortable and the center is not too far from Mill Avenue.

Yelp
TCA is definitely a Tempe go-to, not just because of the building's beautiful design, views, or infinity pool, but also the shows! Tempe Center for the Arts is a beautiful place. (I've even attended a wedding there!) Even the bathrooms are beautiful!!
google avatar

Natasha A.

Yelp
This facility is gorgeous! It's very practical, innovative, and stream lined. From entering, parking, to finding your event, it's all relatively easy here! The staff is extremely helpful and kind from ticket purchasing to finding the room of your event. I came here on a Friday night for a stand-up comedy show and the whole experience was great. There's an outside area where you can walk along the water and bridge. Also, from the room of the comedy show were tall glass floor to ceiling windows so you can see the lights and water outside, very beautiful! I loved the view from the room, especially at night. The bathrooms were very clean and beautiful. The whole facility is fantastic.

Yelp
For starters the property is so cool! I love negative edge pool on the north & the lake is beautiful. This was my first visit to the center. Everyone was so friendly & offered my small daughter a soft booster seat. I love the intimate theater. Our seats were in row C- three rows from the stage, we felt like we were right in the show! It was great!! I'd love to come back & see another show here!

Yelp
Nice venue for live music. Too bad the bar closes early and the kitchen can't get their act together...

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! This past weekend our performing arts group hosted their annual gala at TCA. Months of planning went into this and the big day was here! As we were setting up everything was going smoothly until we found out the catering company was not going to show. TCA staff jumped into gear and helped up pull off the most amazing night! The support and effort they provided was unreal! I cant wait to do more events with them. I feel so comfortable with them not to mention the venue is stunning! Thank you you for saving our event!

Yelp
I have not been here, but I rode my bike past here in the morning a couple days ago and that statue outside is dope. It had a cool quote and I rode up to look at it then I found out what this place is. I have gone past it so many times not knowing what it was but now I am going to check it out. I guess overall I am reviewing the look of the outside and that statue they have in some glass outside area. Idk what it is, but it looks sick and I like it and now I am going to go see an event soon because of that thing.

Yelp
If you're looking for a little adventure out of the Summer heat, Tempe Center for the Arts is the way to go... Docents are available walk you around and explain some of the intricacies of the building you might not otherwise have noticed or even thought of. Some of the features, such as the theater dome, are particularly impressive. A small art gallery is also open in the center - fun and interesting pieces - some are even interactive like an amped knarl of roots that functions as a drum set... The gallery, along with the rest of the complex, is open Tuesday-Saturday 10AM-6PM during the summer. Check it out!

Yelp
The architecture along deserves five stars. When I drive past Tempe Center of the Arts on the freeway, I can see it shimmering in the sun. When I drive up and park to walk inside, I see its glory and realize this is truly a masterpiece in Tempe. While we don't have an ocean, we do have a "lake"... well maybe it's not a lake to some, but it's as close as we can get here in Phoenix. Tempe Center for the Arts created its architecture so that the water is a negative edge, so that when you look out all you see is miles of water. It's gorgeous. Tempe Center of the Arts is one of the few venues in Tempe that can hold a large amount of people. I hosted an event here in a previous job, and we brought in 250 high school students for a academic day. Not only was the staff a gem to work with, we were able to use every level, knook and cranny of the venue which gave a unique twist to a conference and allowed the students to have some visual stimulation. I have also attended events here as a guest and every time I visit, I walk away in awe of the space. This truly is one of the great venues of Tempe or Phoenix for that matter and I applaud them!

Yelp
Friends and I visited TCftA after having our fill at the Aloha Festival today. Loved the pond/waterfall in the front, with the pebble formation off to one side, as well as the Sculpture Garden. The gallery was open and admission was free, so we went in and enjoyed seeing "American Pop," an exhibit that included black and white lithographs taken on the moon, vintage comic books, lunch boxes, and spy paraphernalia, as well as vintage photo prints of Yvonne Craig as "Batgirl," Vincent Price as "Egghead," and George Reeves as "Superman," to name a few. There were even knitted onesies and photographs of slides of meteorites as viewed under microscopes. It was a nice combination of stark black and white photos and eye-popping color. So nice to be able to use the restroom facilities, as I was not looking forward to using the port o' potties at the festival! Also nice to be able to escape the heat. Funny that, as we're soon going to wish we still had 78 degree weather...

Yelp
I attend a lot of networking events, and frankly, the thought of going to one more "event" on a work night, when I could be home snuggling in my pjs and drinking pina coladas did not thrill me. But I thought, "Hey, I'll try it once, sounds interesting." And golly, was I glad I attended. It was the most fun I have had since, well since I don't know when. The purpose of Ignite is that random people, (who have previously applied and been accepted by Ignite) get up and speak on random subjects for appropriately 5 minutes. Seriously I thought it would be really boring. You know; a bunch of really bad speakers umming and ahing all over the stage, but it wasn't. All of the speeches were insightful and interesting, even the ones that I didn't think I'd be interested in like solar power, or comic books. The audience was huge. I was amazed that so many people showed up to an event that was only advertised through word of mouth. I also met some really interesting people there. The most memorable was the man that sat on my right, Chris Halloran, photographer to stars and presidents. From looking at him you wouldn't have known, but he was one of the few photographers allowed in to photograph President Obama when he came to Mesa. Anyway, I had so much fun, I applied to speak at Ignite 4. Hope I get picked!

Yelp
Beautiful venue, love the architectural style of the building, love the location. Inside, it's bright and airy and the best part is despite the large number of people it can hold, there are no bad seats in the house. Anywhere you seat, you can get a good view of the stage. Keep this in mind if you are purchasing tickets and are on a budget. Even the least expensive seats are good seats! If you are here for a matinee show, pack a picnic lunch and go out to the patio area or stroll to the Tempe town lake, sit away, have your picnic and enjoy yourself!
