Templar - Review - Stratford - London - The Infatuation

"Darkhorse has a sister spot in Templar—a wine bar in Stratford with a modern European sharing plates menu. Think truffle ricotta ravioli, sea bass crudo, and more truffle, this time on polenta fries. photo credit: Stevie Campbell Creative We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Sinéad Cranna

Really delightful restaurant, small/sharing plates of great food. Second time we’ve been and it was just as good as the first. The carrots were just as good as the first time we tried them. And the cauliflower was bbqd enough but not too much. Finally the Hake and steak were delicious. No faults and will definitely be going again for a third time! We were lucky to walk up and get a table but I can imagine it could get busy if a show on at the Everyman.

We weren’t expecting much when we walked into the restaurant, but we were very pleasantly surprised — everything was perfect. We’re used to dining out a lot, and it’s rare to find a place that gets so many things right at once. First of all, a big thank you to Claudia, who made our evening. Her service was the perfect balance of friendly and professional, and she made us feel completely at ease from the moment we sat down. The wine list really stood out — affordable but clearly well curated, which is no easy feat. The cocktail menu was also full of creative combinations that actually work — olive oil and vanilla? Who would have thought! But it was genuinely impressive. As for the food, it was simple in the best way — full of flavour, beautifully balanced, and not heavy at all. Compliments to the chef, who even brought a few of the dishes to the table personally — a really lovely touch. Overall, this was such a refreshing and enjoyable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent food, popped out head in for lunch, very friendly service. They had some mussels with ndjua butter as a special, and we also went for the smoked duck breast, oysters and polenta truffle fries. All of it very fresh and cooked well. Would come back again to try other dishes on the menu.

Enjoyed lunch here as wanted to try this new venue. Only 2 minute walk from John Lewis and many of the offices around. The salted baked celeriac was delicious...lots of different flavours that complemented each other. Would be great place to go with a group and try selection of dishes to share. Extensive wine list. Friendly staff. Will definitely return.

Really enjoyed the taste. The sharing plates are surely on a smaller side so you’d need about 3-4 per person if hungry. In that way it might get a bit spenny! Good concept though and great service.

Absolutely wonderful spot. Come 3 mins away from Westfield for really delicious food at superb prices. One of the tastiest meals I’ve had in a while! Lovely date night spot - and you can then pop to the cinema next door. Perfect!

Customer service they provide there is just amazing! Everyone is so nice, kind and open! Chocolate dessert checked all my taste expectations. Chef did a really good job! And cocktails... you can actually taste alcohol in it! Definitely will go back there for another ladies night with my girls 🤗
