I'm a big fan of Temple Coffee. I like coffees with stone fruit notes and this is one of my favorite rosters. I had the Lotus blend pour over, quite tasty black and as you can see I prefer it with cream. The coffee cake donut was moist and the frosting was not too sweet.

I found myself in downtown Sacramento on a very warm day and wanted a coffee and snack while on break from my seminar. This location is on a quiet side street and not too easy to see unless you are looking for it. The inside is an odd juxtaposition to other shops with its ultra modern look and concrete decor. However, the coffee and food are great and perfect for a quick working lunch. I like the large table for sharing and the entire place is very elegant and well designed. I like thoughtful design and Temple Coffee impressed me. Hope you like it too. Michael Delehanty Compass Real Estate

It's solidly good. However, I did ask for a coffee that was sweeter and had a lot of milk. He forgot to put in my milk, and I dont even know if he put the syrup in there. Had to add my own half and half and syrup to make it taste okay, and it still was so strong. I like my coffee milky white but still really strong. Wierd ik. Idc. Anyways. Beautiful little gem. Went in like as soon as they opened. The muffin I got was weird and gross, but I did order the weirdest thing on the menu, the lemon lavender muffin. My love, however, ate their pastry right up and loved the coffee. So it was good considered.

This morning, I stopped by for a matcha latte, and I was pleased with the excellent customer service. I was interested in purchasing a tumbler to keep my drink hot, so I asked the barista how long it keeps items hot. She mentioned that she had a tumbler in her car overnight during winter, and her drink was still hot. I sipped my latte immediately after buying it, and it was nice and hot. After that, I poured the remainder into my tumbler. However, one hour later, when I tried my drink again, it was only lukewarm. Unfortunately, I don't think the tumbler is worth the price. That said, the service here is great.

The atmosphere walking in was inviting and warm. The girl behind the counter had exceptional customer service. I told her to surprise me, and she asked me a few questions and nailed the coffee she made for me. Fantastic in house roasted beans and super fresh. All around 6 out of 5 stars. Definitely recommend for other people. The price wasn't too bad. It's a little more expensive than starbucks, but the quality and freshness are second to none!

Google
The natural ethiopian pour over was tasty. It comes in a pouring carafe, which I've never had for coffee before. Free tasting of their staff pick Columbian pour over. Staff was super friendly. They had lots of options for tea, so the wife was happy too!

Google
I love Temple espresso. And this Temple on 9th Street is my favorite. It has a special atmosphere and the baristas are always beautiful and shining. They always tell you which beans are best to choose and how to decide on a dessert.

Google
Good vibes, great drinks and pastry items offered. Had a wonderful first time visit. Staff members are friendly and very welcoming to all. Made really good food recommendations too. Chill vibes to sit and work.

Yelp
DUDE-- this place is so awesome! They had so many coffee bean options! The employees were so kind and patient with us as we tried to figure out what we wanted! And the coffees are so good! We got the honey lattes and loved it! I left with a bag of coffee too because it was SO recommended! Definitely recommend trying if you're nearby! We got the Java bag!

Yelp
The best coffee and teas in Davis and the Sac area in general. Super clean and nice crew. Only thing I would love to see is the croinuts that they used to have. Sooooooo good. They have a lot of great seasonal drinks but my go to is a honey oat Matcha for the wife and a quince green tea for myself. I litereally go 2x a day, 7 days a week. Tell them Aaron said hi. Like pokemon, you gotta visit them (locations) all.

Yelp
Temple Coffee - Sacramento, CA January 23, 2025 I came in at about 9 am on a Thursday morning during a break from jury duty at the Sacramento County Superior Court. It's about a five minute walk from the court house. I got a small medium roast drip coffee and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were delicious. It's always joy to have a really good cup of coffee! The Inside is modern with long community-style tables in the center, a leather padded bench-style seating against one wall with single tables and chairs, and bar-style seating looking out to the street. The Service was very good. It wasn't too busy when I was here and the acoustics are ok.

Yelp
Such a tranquil vibe at this Temple Coffee location. Beautiful coffee bar lined with their coffee beans, two ginormous wooden communal tables, and the staff are welcoming while they focus intently on their craft. Coffee prices are higher at Temple compared to some competitors but it's worth treating yourself to a quality cup of coffee and being in a zen state of mind while sipping it at one of their seats. There's an outdoor area in the front, too, for those who want to soak up some rays. Parking is mainly street-based but there are a couple of parking lots nearby.

Yelp
I knew I was in for a terrible experience when I asked how much the pour over coffee was and the server said she didn't know and that the guy at the register could tell me... after I ordered. Needless to say, it was more than I would've liked to pay for a cup of coffee, but given the price I thought it would at least be good. Wrong. When it came, I honestly couldn't tell if I was drinking coffee or tea. How do places like this stay in business?

Yelp
This is such a cute coffee shop and it's nice that it's open late. We wanted to go to a bar for a drink, but the vibes were all off. We stumbled upon Temple by accident. We decided to go inside because it seemed lively and clean. The barista on Thursday night around 9pm was so sweet. I wish I got her name. We ordered a Mexican hot chocolate, single espresso shot, and a cappuccino for drinks. She greeted us kindly and asked for our orders, so she can start them quickly. The other worker on the register was also very kind and welcoming. She asked us if we wanted any pastries to enjoy. We ended up getting the tiramisu. It was amazing. My husband loved his Mexican hot chocolate. We would definitely come back if we are in the area!

Yelp
The space has a nice layout and had a lot of people relaxed out doing work here. Plenty of seating here to hang out. They had a regular menu and then a seasonal menu. We got the latte and one of their seasonal offerings which was a cherry coke cold brew with cherry foam on top. The latte was delicious and they made a pretty heart design on it. The cherry coke cold brew was tasty and sweet and you can really taste the cherry flavor in the foam!

Yelp
A Sacramento classic, great coffee and pastries. The Cortado I got with the Brazil beans was spectacular. The almond croissant was delicious too. Service was great, no complaints here. Enjoyed the quiet atmosphere inside too on an early morning.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday morning based on recommendation by a friend and enjoyed my experience here! This location is located near downtown Sacramento so you'd need to find street parking around the area. However, I was able to find a parking spot just around the corner right away. The store has ample seating with really simple and wooden decor, and there wasn't a lot of people when we arrived around 10am. My friend usually like their expresso, but they had a seasonal menu with drinks made with homemade ginger syrup, so decided to go with a ginger latte (without whip cream), which I really enjoyed. The flavors were subtle but it wasn't too sweet which was a plus for me. Apparently they usually have a lot of pastries on Sunday mornings, but somehow that day they were busy, so by the time we went, the pastry cabinet was pretty much empty. Overall had a great experience and recommend Temple to those in the area!

Yelp
I was in Sacramento for a week trip and stopped by here. I usually try to make it to Temple whenever I'm in Sacramento. Service was good. You order with the barista first and then pay at the register. They have an assortment of pastries too but I just went for their pour over coffee. As expected, the coffee was good. Very smooth and not too acidic. I enjoyed my pour over in their relaxing shop. If you're in Sacramento, check them out, especially if you like coffee.

Yelp
I was attending a conference in Sacramento. I decided to walk all the way down to this coffee shop and give it a try. The inside of the coffee shop has a very relaxed feel to it. The coffee was delicious and the service was good.

Yelp
Good coffee, but my latte was warm at the best. Maybe I should have let them know that I'd like it extra hot. There was a wait on a busy Saturday afternoon but the line went by quickly. Service was nice too!

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful find! Went out to lunch around the corner and on the way back to the office stumbled across this spot. Great coffee and service. Will be back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
In need for coffee nearby, I decided on Temple Coffee Roasters. I ordered a latte with low fat milk and honey. The flavor of the coffee roast was really good. It was smooth and not bitter. I didn't expect to be surprised this early in the morning. Service here is also excellent. The cashier was very friendly, asking how my morning was and any plans for the day. As I told him I didn't have any plans yet, he gave a suggestion of a museum to visit while in Sacramento.

Yelp
Got a strawberry bergamot milk tea and it was so delicious! Everyone here is so nice and it's so clean inside!

Yelp
My mentee decided to treat me to a vanilla latte. This place is very popular and was busy on an afternoon during the workweek.

Yelp
I've been to the K Street, S Street, and Davis locations before, but this was my first time at the 9th Street one. Large wooden inviting tables inside, and a small patio area for seating outside. Accommodated our large group at the outdoor tables/chairs fine, and we were able to enjoy an after-lunch Temple break and have a team "working" discussion over coffee/tea. All of our drink orders were on one tab, props to the barista who put up with getting all of us taken care of! I went with my absolute favorite go-to order of Bliss Tea (in a to-go cup though); if I knew we were sticking around I would have definitely asked for the whole teapot. The tisane peppermint tea with coconut milk and honey steamed in soy is heavenly. The taste of the tea reflects its name and I get it almost every time I hit up Temple.

Yelp
Was walking around downtown and needed coffee, so I stopped by here since I've heard good things about this place. The business model is similar to Philz like you order first and then pay as they make your drink. Mexican Mocha (5/5): I wouldn't recommend this if you don't like sweet coffee. I thought it was very good and had really great spice in here. Maybe next time I will try their tea

Yelp
I really just cannot understand why they charge 6-7 dollars for a latte... so crazy. yeah it's pretty good but definitely not worth the price.

Yelp
What a beautiful and inviting space with a variety of drinks that are made with great care and creativity! First time in and it is the beginning of a date night with My smile. What a wonderfully relaxing way to start the evening.

Yelp
ALWAYS LOVE TEMPLE! I will always make a stop here to order the Mexican Hot Chocolate. You can also order it iced on a hot summer day. So rich and creamy and the homemade whipped cream is the perfect addition. Workers are always so friendly -- some of the best customer service ever! Great place to study. Seating outdoors and indoors.

Yelp
Cute, modern coffee shop close to the Golden 1 Center. Nice break from the Starbucks & Peet's hype. Staff were very friendly. Coffee was great. My sister-in-law ended up not liking her Mexican Mocha so they exchanged it for another drink for free which I thought was kind of them.

Yelp
My wife and I both got cappuccinos to take and drink later. We also got some specialty cream, coffee, soda type drink cold brew that we both really liked. I got an almond croissant that was pretty good and I got a polkadot bar and i took one bite out of and spit it out but my wife liked it for some weird reason.

Yelp
What an amazing spot ! The staff was top notch. I love black coffee, naturally the taste is so important to me since there's nothing I add to it. The barista recommended good choices on Guatemala coffee and oferred a sample of it. It was delighful. Super helpful staff with getting the coffee beans ground and making a selection to drink. The place has a good vibe to it. You order first then pay. Plenty of room to sit inside. It's in midtown so parking could be tough, I was lucky and parked in the front.

Yelp
Came here since I heard it was a great place to get work done and there's great coffee too! I got one of their specials - the Happy Camper which is cold brew, lemon, chamomile soda! It sounds weird at first but if you like tonic water, give it a try :) Also love the ambiance here, it's a great place where everyone is respectful towards one another so you can get work done.

Yelp
My first taste of Dirty Chai ($8+) and I loved it! Made with Chai Tea, a double shot of espresso, choice of milk & sweetened with brown sugar. I don't like overly sweet drinks so the double shot of espresso made this drink so enjoyable. Ordering it extra hot is also something I highly recommend. They are only able to make this drink more sweet but not less sweet.

Yelp
Overall, temple coffee was great! I went with my parents and they like it. I ordered a matcha latte for my mom and ordered a vanilla lemon muffin. The baristas were nice. The mexican mocha was sweet yet crowded with whipped cream on top. The matcha latte was fine. The matcha latte was not at all sweet. Overall, temple coffee was great! Yelp
Good matcha but definitely add extra sweetener. I usually get brown sugar added. Spacious interior. Great place to get some work done.

Yelp
Friendly staff and really great coffee. There were five or more coffee shops closer to my hotel and conference but this was worth the walk.

Yelp
YES to Temple Coffee Roasters! We were in town for the Lizzo concert at Golden 1 Center and lots of coffee/breakfast spots were closed today for the Memorial Day holiday. I was thrilled to find Temple Coffee Roasters to be open. I'd been to a Temple once before in Davis and loved the coffee. Today was no different. Clean, hip interior. Friendly and quick service. Smooth and delicious espresso. We enjoyed a latte, a caramel latte, a drip coffee, and a strawberry donut (one of the many gluten-free options available! Lots of vegan pastries available too). If I lived near to a Temple Coffee Roasters, I'd be a frequent flyer!
google avatar

Brittany L.

Yelp
Temple is okay but I think over hyped. Mocha is very sweet. Has more of a milk chocolate flavor which isn't my personal fave. Tons of coffee bag options to choose from that it's a little overwhelming. I've brought some coffee to my sister in the Bay Area and she wasn't impressed. Beautiful shop, but definitely over hyped.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautifully made coffee's and teas. They do both press and pour overs, with that comes a price $ but if you know what you want you'll pay for it. Staff, location and coffee house interior is great.

Angel N.

Yelp
One of the worst lattes I've had in Sacramento. I usually don't have an issue with the coffee here and I've been here a couple times prior to this visit. The latte I ordered today was BITTER and tasted so bad. It wasn't sweetened with vanilla and I think if you're paying almost $10 for a latte, it would include what you paid for. Disappointing... I think there are far better coffee shops to go to.

Trevin P.

Yelp
Love their coffee and the floors are such a vibe!!!! Also the service is on point. The best coffee in midtown. Highly recommend
google avatar

Yelp
Sad to leave three stars as it's such a cute place! Very quiet and peaceful ambiance but unfortunately my drink was not my favorite. I tried their Vietnamese coffee and unfortunately felt very watered down. Their pastries are really good though :) the Polka Dot Loaf was delicious. I recommend them for sure. Service is great as well. As soon as you walk in they will ask for your order to get your order started. By the time you get to the register and finish paying, your drink is out!

Yelp
AMAZING! Starbucks has been replaced, the ambience, service & food are all amazing, I couldn't help but thank my server today she was absolutely wonderful!

Yelp
Great coffee stop in Sacramento. Excellent pour over and espresso drinks. Keeping this in my back pocket for the future.

Yelp
It's always fun checking out another Temple location. My most frequent stops are K street and Davis but each Temple location has its own vibe and it's consistent coffee quality and great service from the baristas. Definitely check out the seasonal menus and any specials they have going on. There are often new tumblers and mugs and around the end of the year they do a buy two bags of coffee, get a mug deal. Their holiday mugs are usually pretty cute too. They're also currently doing a coffee passport where you can visit each location to win prizes. This particular location has a good amount of indoor seating as well as a little fenced in outdoor area. If you're at DOCO or in the area, this is a good local option.
google avatar

Diane L.

Yelp
Great coffee and very friendly staff! I loved the gingerbread late over the cold season.
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee place ever. They have NEVER once made my coffee bad. I can tell by the consistent color of my iced vanilla latte, that I'm getting an unburnt flavorful coffee. The service is top notch! They're always nice upbeat, and even remember their regulars. I hope they get nice customers every time! The ambiance is perfect for getting work done or meeting up. I had an interview via zoom here AND GOT THE JOB. I went outside for more privacy and the internet wasn't t too strong and kept glitching. So yes! Visit and eat and drink but NO don't do a zoom interview via their internet. I always get a banana loaf because they make the best with chocolate chips. If I can make it here everyday I would. Ironically, I got a job 2 blocks away from the interview. It was meant to be

Yelp
Good location with nice staff. Second visit here was a good as the first a few months ago. Simple, clean interior with all the amenities as other location. Indoor seating is plentiful with tables and two large community tables. Music is enjoyable in content and volume. Easy to talk with others and still here the tunes. Iced tea and muffin were a welcome break. Enjoy! There is outdoor good amount of seating umbrellas offer shade when needed. Parking is available right in front on street with meters.

Yelp
Consistent. Stopped in again. Wanted something different. Matcha latte w oat milk and light brown sugar. Spot on. So good. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Douglas L.

Yelp
Definitely one of the good coffee spots. Give you an idea, I'm a Dutch bros, original Pete's coffee drinker, I will drink a Starbucks, but it's burnt coffee and not a bucks fan. So with that in mind, temple is a step above, not a five star. But it's worth a visit and enjoy a cup. Keep up the good work temple. PS I'm picky giving out 5 stars.
google avatar

Yelp
We were staying around the corner and decided to grab our morning drinks and a pastry from Temple. The space is clean and modern with beautiful, long wood slab tables. I got an iced oat milk latte and my wife had an oat matcha latte. We shared a ham and cheese croissant. I thought my iced latte was great - nicely pulled espresso shots that weren't too bitter, but emphasized cereal and caramel notes. My wife thought the matcha latte was good but slightly preferred the one from Cora a couple blocks down J St. The croissant was a bit disappointing - the ham and cheese were cold inside and the croissant had no crisp to it whatsoever. No offer to warm up the croissant either so I'm not sure if they even do that there. Aside from the pastry, my only complaint is the price - an iced latte with alt milk, tax, and tip will set you back almost $9. I suppose for an occasional splurge, it's great. But to grab every day? I'd need to take out a second mortgage to afford to pay for that lol
google avatar

Tony V.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, outstanding service, and ample space make it an ideal place to accomplish work. The matcha latte I had completely revitalized my body. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
I've been to this location several times and the service is always consistent! The customer service is on point and and drinks are made fast and taste amazing! My to go to order in the summer is the Iced Green Tea. It's very refreshing and light. You also can't go wrong with their Cold Brew. Perfect for the summer.
google avatar

Yelp
Temples coffee is amazing. You will not get a better cup and all Sacramento. They are danishes also pretty good. If you want a great cup of coffee, you'll never go wrong.

Yelp
Cozy atmosphere and exquisite taste of coffee in Temple Coffee in downtown Sacramento. Love this place Also service was good
