Another quality Temple coffee location! Great coffee, perfect hot chocolate, and pastries. I really enjoy their lattes, and I've gotten coffee beans from them before. The coffee beans make great gifts, and sometimes there are promotions for their swag as well. Always orderly, and the staff are super friendly and patient. I always see the same baristas, and the lack of change says a lot about the work atmosphere here. You can tell when a barista is new, but the staff here have done coffee for years. The inside is typical, sits about 25 comfortably and there are always folks studying, meeting, and enjoying coffee since this is close to many of the Capital buildings. I just like the vibe and I can see why it's popular. The DT area is not the safest, but if you come in the day/afternoon- you'll get great coffee and excellent service. Enjoy!

Temple Coffee Roasters in Sacramento serves some of the best coffee around. Mine had been perfectly roasted and brewed every time I've visited. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a nice spot to unwind or get some work done, and the variety of seating is good alone or larger parties. Parking can be challenging, and it does get busy during peak hours, but the exceptional coffee and welcoming vibe make it worth the effort. A great stop for coffee lovers in Sacramento!

This is one of the smaller Temple locations, but it’s exactly what you’d expect if you’ve been to any of the others. Temple is super consistent in both their coffee and their staff. The drinks are solid, not amazing, but definitely better than average. The vibe here matches the rest of their cafes. Friendly but with that slightly condescending “we take our coffee very seriously” attitude. It’s not rude, just very on-brand for Temple. Not really my style, but many people who think they are into coffee love it. The space is clean, minimal, and a nice place to hang out for a bit. The pastry selection was a little limited compared to their larger locations. On the exterior it’s a bit more downtown than Midtown, so it’s not the most scenic spot, but it works. Overall, it’s a good stop for a consistently well made coffee and a calm atmosphere. Just don’t expect much warmth or conversation with your cappuccino.

I normally don’t post reviews but we had such a good experience I needed to! My husband and 2 kids (2 & 4 years old) stopped by for coffee & breakfast while road tripping & staying the night in Sacramento. The baristas were all extremely friendly & the coffee & pastries were super yummy. I went to use the restroom & a barista saw me & came right behind me to happily open the door with her key. Then a bit later my husband went to use the restroom & she saw him & came right behind him to open the door (didn’t even have to ask!). My kids were going a little crazy (toddler energy on a road trip😅) & we didn’t feel judged & always met with smiles which is nice 😂 Plus they happily gave our kids small cups of waters with lids AND on the way out gave my kids a toy. Honestly I was floored at how friendly & a great experience our little coffee break was. Thank you Temple Coffee! Making finding nice coffee shops even with littles a great experience 💕

The coffee the best, excellent actually. The baked goods not so good however. It’s fresh but not great. They import from a local bakery daily. Be prepared for a cold croissant, nothing to heat it up with. A cinnamon roll with raisins, such a weird combination. Banana bread with chocolate chips, another weird combo. The decor and design is excellent, gives a warm feeling with wood and earth tones, also the flooring is nice. Clean place also. I would continue to visit this place for the excellent coffee and atmosphere but definitely skip the pastries

Local coffee in a quiet and relaxed vibe. Temple takes care of their employees and covers training and health insurance for them. I can support that for sure! The pour over coffee was great- I think personally I prefer a latte but I appreciate the taste and care put in the preparation. Erwin the barista was super helpful talking with my partner about doing pour over at home.

Visited recently and tried one of their most popular coffee drinks, really enjoyed it. The coffee was smooth, well balanced, and clearly made with care. The space felt welcoming, and service was friendly and efficient. Overall a solid experience and a great spot to grab quality coffee downtown.

MATCHA MIRACLE AT TEMPLE Walked in still carrying the aura of last night's dance floor and Temple was glowing like a Pinterest board come alive. Ordered the matcha latte and--boom--bright green magic, smooth and not too sweet, like it knew exactly how to flip the switch back on. The place is buzzing with light, plants, and good energy. Left spinning with caffeine and optimism, already plotting my return.

I've been to the Temple near UC Davis and it was so cute and magical had to stop by here! Noticed they offer matcha and wanted to check it out, i felt it wouldnt be japanese matcha style im used to bc thats how it is at big American coffee chains. I did ask if it was ceremonial and they said yes. But the taste wasn't like the asian japanese matcha stores in the Bay. It was still nice and u can adjust sweetness level. I went with 3/4 oz sweetener and i think i would go with 1/2 oz for the "not too sweet". Overall solid and cute vibe inside and yummy looking pastries! Recommend!

Great place with great coffee! I had the drip both days with a pastry. The pastries are excellent too although they tend to run low on the gluten-OK ones as the day goes on (there were many more gluten-free when I was there). If you ask for a mug to drink in person, they will give it to you although their default may be a paper cup to go. Friendly staff. A little expensive compared to where I live (Oregon) but probably par for the course for California.

DUDE-- this place is so awesome! They had so many coffee bean options! The employees were so kind and patient with us as we tried to figure out what we wanted! And the coffees are so good! We got the honey lattes and loved it! I left with a bag of coffee too because it was SO recommended! Definitely recommend trying if you're nearby! We got the Java bag!

Wonderful coffee shop in downtown Sacramento. The staff (especially the cashier was very friendly and kind). I ordered a Matcha and it is great. I came about 11 and most of their pastries were sold out but did snag a piece of banana bread (a little hard on the edges but overall ok). The shop was very clean with a lot of seating.

This is such a cute coffee shop and it's nice that it's open late. We wanted to go to a bar for a drink, but the vibes were all off. We stumbled upon Temple by accident. We decided to go inside because it seemed lively and clean. The barista on Thursday night around 9pm was so sweet. I wish I got her name. We ordered a Mexican hot chocolate, single espresso shot, and a cappuccino for drinks. She greeted us kindly and asked for our orders, so she can start them quickly. The other worker on the register was also very kind and welcoming. She asked us if we wanted any pastries to enjoy. We ended up getting the tiramisu. It was amazing. My husband loved his Mexican hot chocolate. We would definitely come back if we are in the area!

Here's a tip. If you go in and look like a bum, you will get whatever you want for free! I used to spend a lot at this place until I started noticing how little they give to paying customers, but will enable the bums outside by giving out free stuff. I've had bums come up to me while I'm outside on the patio and ask for money and will not stop! Had one that told me to go to my atm with them to pull out money! Employees do nothing! I'm glad I don't support this place anymore!

Such a tranquil vibe at this Temple Coffee location. Beautiful coffee bar lined with their coffee beans, two ginormous wooden communal tables, and the staff are welcoming while they focus intently on their craft. Coffee prices are higher at Temple compared to some competitors but it's worth treating yourself to a quality cup of coffee and being in a zen state of mind while sipping it at one of their seats. There's an outdoor area in the front, too, for those who want to soak up some rays. Parking is mainly street-based but there are a couple of parking lots nearby.

Temple is amazing not only does it have a good ambience for studying, but it does have a really good staff lineup. I feel like the ladies that were there were super helpful and understood the type of drink I wanted because sometimes going to a new coffee shop is a hit or miss, especially when Matcha and coffee always have different flavors to them. The lady that helped me was super understanding and when I asked for extra sweetness, she was able to give me multiple examples on what I could get instead. overall, super yummy the only thing is that parking sucks

Came here on a Sunday morning based on recommendation by a friend and enjoyed my experience here! This location is located near downtown Sacramento so you'd need to find street parking around the area. However, I was able to find a parking spot just around the corner right away. The store has ample seating with really simple and wooden decor, and there wasn't a lot of people when we arrived around 10am. My friend usually like their expresso, but they had a seasonal menu with drinks made with homemade ginger syrup, so decided to go with a ginger latte (without whip cream), which I really enjoyed. The flavors were subtle but it wasn't too sweet which was a plus for me. Apparently they usually have a lot of pastries on Sunday mornings, but somehow that day they were busy, so by the time we went, the pastry cabinet was pretty much empty. Overall had a great experience and recommend Temple to those in the area!

I was in Sacramento for a week trip and stopped by here. I usually try to make it to Temple whenever I'm in Sacramento. Service was good. You order with the barista first and then pay at the register. They have an assortment of pastries too but I just went for their pour over coffee. As expected, the coffee was good. Very smooth and not too acidic. I enjoyed my pour over in their relaxing shop. If you're in Sacramento, check them out, especially if you like coffee.

A Sacramento classic, great coffee and pastries. The Cortado I got with the Brazil beans was spectacular. The almond croissant was delicious too. Service was great, no complaints here. Enjoyed the quiet atmosphere inside too on an early morning.

I love temple because the customer service is quick and they always ask how my day is going. The coffee is fresh and on cold days like these who doesn't like a warm cup of coffee. I ordered a half sweet hazelnut latterl and it was the perfect sweetness. The inside is warm and inviting and there are many people that come here to gather. The location is great for downtown

The space has a nice layout and had a lot of people relaxed out doing work here. Plenty of seating here to hang out. They had a regular menu and then a seasonal menu. We got the latte and one of their seasonal offerings which was a cherry coke cold brew with cherry foam on top. The latte was delicious and they made a pretty heart design on it. The cherry coke cold brew was tasty and sweet and you can really taste the cherry flavor in the foam!

Temple Coffee - Sacramento, CA January 23, 2025 I came in at about 9 am on a Thursday morning during a break from jury duty at the Sacramento County Superior Court. It's about a five minute walk from the court house. I got a small medium roast drip coffee and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were delicious. It's always joy to have a really good cup of coffee! The Inside is modern with long community-style tables in the center, a leather padded bench-style seating against one wall with single tables and chairs, and bar-style seating looking out to the street. The Service was very good. It wasn't too busy when I was here and the acoustics are ok.

Beautiful place. It was our first time coming and the man taking our order was so thoughtful and helpful. We order a hot chocolate it was not the best, tasted like warm milk.We also got a matcha which tasted like milk. The coffee on the other hand was amazing, great espresso, and perfect temperature. The place was very packed but that was alright because it is marathon day. My cousin needed to use the restroom, as she was walking out some lady walked up to her and shoved her cutting an old lady. She said Im a paying customer and did not let the elder lady go (the elder lady was a paying customer). My cousin was STUNDEN she did not do anything at the moment. As we were leaving we went up to the lady in a very nicely matter and just mentioned how inappropriate that was. She body shamed my cousin telling her she needs to walk more. Mind you my cousin had 3 kids and is dealing with medical issues. Must she find God.

My mentee decided to treat me to a vanilla latte. This place is very popular and was busy on an afternoon during the workweek.

I've been to the K Street, S Street, and Davis locations before, but this was my first time at the 9th Street one. Large wooden inviting tables inside, and a small patio area for seating outside. Accommodated our large group at the outdoor tables/chairs fine, and we were able to enjoy an after-lunch Temple break and have a team "working" discussion over coffee/tea. All of our drink orders were on one tab, props to the barista who put up with getting all of us taken care of! I went with my absolute favorite go-to order of Bliss Tea (in a to-go cup though); if I knew we were sticking around I would have definitely asked for the whole teapot. The tisane peppermint tea with coconut milk and honey steamed in soy is heavenly. The taste of the tea reflects its name and I get it almost every time I hit up Temple.

Good coffee, but my latte was warm at the best. Maybe I should have let them know that I'd like it extra hot. There was a wait on a busy Saturday afternoon but the line went by quickly. Service was nice too!

Was walking around downtown and needed coffee, so I stopped by here since I've heard good things about this place. The business model is similar to Philz like you order first and then pay as they make your drink. Mexican Mocha (5/5): I wouldn't recommend this if you don't like sweet coffee. I thought it was very good and had really great spice in here. Maybe next time I will try their tea

I went to Temple coffee for the first time last weekend and I got a peppermint iced tea as well as a pastry. Both were delicious, the employees were friendly, and I was able to use the Wi-Fi to get some work done. I didn't find the chairs outside very comfortable, but others seemed to enjoy the outdoor seating area.

Got a strawberry bergamot milk tea and it was so delicious! Everyone here is so nice and it's so clean inside!

In need for coffee nearby, I decided on Temple Coffee Roasters. I ordered a latte with low fat milk and honey. The flavor of the coffee roast was really good. It was smooth and not bitter. I didn't expect to be surprised this early in the morning. Service here is also excellent. The cashier was very friendly, asking how my morning was and any plans for the day. As I told him I didn't have any plans yet, he gave a suggestion of a museum to visit while in Sacramento.

YES to Temple Coffee Roasters! We were in town for the Lizzo concert at Golden 1 Center and lots of coffee/breakfast spots were closed today for the Memorial Day holiday. I was thrilled to find Temple Coffee Roasters to be open. I'd been to a Temple once before in Davis and loved the coffee. Today was no different. Clean, hip interior. Friendly and quick service. Smooth and delicious espresso. We enjoyed a latte, a caramel latte, a drip coffee, and a strawberry donut (one of the many gluten-free options available! Lots of vegan pastries available too). If I lived near to a Temple Coffee Roasters, I'd be a frequent flyer!

I love Temple espresso. And this Temple on 9th Street is my favorite. It has a special atmosphere and the baristas are always beautiful and shining. They always tell you which beans are best to choose and how to decide on a dessert.

I was attending a conference in Sacramento. I decided to walk all the way down to this coffee shop and give it a try. The inside of the coffee shop has a very relaxed feel to it. The coffee was delicious and the service was good.

I knew I was in for a terrible experience when I asked how much the pour over coffee was and the server said she didn't know and that the guy at the register could tell me... after I ordered. Needless to say, it was more than I would've liked to pay for a cup of coffee, but given the price I thought it would at least be good. Wrong. When it came, I honestly couldn't tell if I was drinking coffee or tea. How do places like this stay in business?

What an amazing spot ! The staff was top notch. I love black coffee, naturally the taste is so important to me since there's nothing I add to it. The barista recommended good choices on Guatemala coffee and oferred a sample of it. It was delighful. Super helpful staff with getting the coffee beans ground and making a selection to drink. The place has a good vibe to it. You order first then pay. Plenty of room to sit inside. It's in midtown so parking could be tough, I was lucky and parked in the front.

The best coffee and teas in Davis and the Sac area in general. Super clean and nice crew. Only thing I would love to see is the croinuts that they used to have. Sooooooo good. They have a lot of great seasonal drinks but my go to is a honey oat Matcha for the wife and a quince green tea for myself. I litereally go 2x a day, 7 days a week. Tell them Aaron said hi. Like pokemon, you gotta visit them (locations) all.

Beautifully made coffee's and teas. They do both press and pour overs, with that comes a price $ but if you know what you want you'll pay for it. Staff, location and coffee house interior is great.

Came here since I heard it was a great place to get work done and there's great coffee too! I got one of their specials - the Happy Camper which is cold brew, lemon, chamomile soda! It sounds weird at first but if you like tonic water, give it a try :) Also love the ambiance here, it's a great place where everyone is respectful towards one another so you can get work done.

My first taste of Dirty Chai ($8+) and I loved it! Made with Chai Tea, a double shot of espresso, choice of milk & sweetened with brown sugar. I don't like overly sweet drinks so the double shot of espresso made this drink so enjoyable. Ordering it extra hot is also something I highly recommend. They are only able to make this drink more sweet but not less sweet.

I really just cannot understand why they charge 6-7 dollars for a latte... so crazy. yeah it's pretty good but definitely not worth the price.

It's always fun checking out another Temple location. My most frequent stops are K street and Davis but each Temple location has its own vibe and it's consistent coffee quality and great service from the baristas. Definitely check out the seasonal menus and any specials they have going on. There are often new tumblers and mugs and around the end of the year they do a buy two bags of coffee, get a mug deal. Their holiday mugs are usually pretty cute too. They're also currently doing a coffee passport where you can visit each location to win prizes. This particular location has a good amount of indoor seating as well as a little fenced in outdoor area. If you're at DOCO or in the area, this is a good local option.

What a beautiful and inviting space with a variety of drinks that are made with great care and creativity! First time in and it is the beginning of a date night with My smile. What a wonderfully relaxing way to start the evening.

I love Temple! A coworker recommended the spot, and I have to say I'm hooked! I got a pour over and the barista recommended a bean, and it was very delicious. The environment was great too with lots of seating to get work done.

My wife and I both got cappuccinos to take and drink later. We also got some specialty cream, coffee, soda type drink cold brew that we both really liked. I got an almond croissant that was pretty good and I got a polkadot bar and i took one bite out of and spit it out but my wife liked it for some weird reason.

Good location with nice staff. Second visit here was a good as the first a few months ago. Simple, clean interior with all the amenities as other location. Indoor seating is plentiful with tables and two large community tables. Music is enjoyable in content and volume. Easy to talk with others and still here the tunes. Iced tea and muffin were a welcome break. Enjoy! There is outdoor good amount of seating umbrellas offer shade when needed. Parking is available right in front on street with meters.

This is my favorite coffee place ever. They have NEVER once made my coffee bad. I can tell by the consistent color of my iced vanilla latte, that I'm getting an unburnt flavorful coffee. The service is top notch! They're always nice upbeat, and even remember their regulars. I hope they get nice customers every time! The ambiance is perfect for getting work done or meeting up. I had an interview via zoom here AND GOT THE JOB. I went outside for more privacy and the internet wasn't t too strong and kept glitching. So yes! Visit and eat and drink but NO don't do a zoom interview via their internet. I always get a banana loaf because they make the best with chocolate chips. If I can make it here everyday I would. Ironically, I got a job 2 blocks away from the interview. It was meant to be

Sad to leave three stars as it's such a cute place! Very quiet and peaceful ambiance but unfortunately my drink was not my favorite. I tried their Vietnamese coffee and unfortunately felt very watered down. Their pastries are really good though :) the Polka Dot Loaf was delicious. I recommend them for sure. Service is great as well. As soon as you walk in they will ask for your order to get your order started. By the time you get to the register and finish paying, your drink is out!
