Just had the worst nightclub experience of my life at Temple last night. I've been to clubs all over the world, frequent SF clubs, and have worked in nightlife for years, so I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly... take it from me this place is a big no-go from the get go. I'd heard negative reviews from my friends mainly regarding the crowd, but decided to give Temple a shot since they booked Green Velvet, a world renowned DJ who I've wanted to see for years. I paid $40 per ticket after fees which I thought was a bit steep but not too far above average for a big name artist. Arrived at the club 30 mins before he went on and was greeted by the longest line I've ever seen at a venue. I find out from another disgruntled ticket holder that they were still selling door tickets & we were being forced to line up together. They also only had 1 ticket checker and 1 security guard who stopped and frisked every single person. Fine. We waited it out and finally got in almost 1 hour later, 30 mins late for Green Velvet's set. Once inside, it was obvious that they'd oversold the venue. It was shoulder to shoulder packed on the dance floor and walkways, line for the bar was 10+ rows deep... no room to dance, hang out or even move around comfortably if you were in GA. This club obviously prioritizes VIP/bottle service, to the extent they've completely neglected the GA patrons who paid a lot of money to be there. We squeezed our way onto the dance floor and found a spot, packed shoulder to shoulder like sardines. That's when my partner & her friend tell me they'd been groped multiple times on the way onto the floor. After all the egregiousness we'd endured, we tried to enjoy a bit of Green Velvet's set.. but it was hard to do when they blasted obnoxious CO2 cannons & confetti on every drop & my friends were getting harassed left and right by creepy, drunk and aggressive men. Horrible. We left early, I've never been so upset and I want my money back. Don't go here, it's actually worth it to wait for your favorite artists to play a different venue..
