Templeton Garden hotel | Earl's Court, London | England | Smith Hotels

"A dashing townhouse with a botanical bent, Templeton Garden is tucked away from West London’s bustle on a verdant square near Kensington, but close enough to dip into the capital’s whirl. You can expect Victorian bones, a gardener’s soul (seductively landscaped gardens are the heart of this hotel), and just enough eccentricity to keep things interesting. For lovers of leafy corners and tea-fuelled lie-ins, Templeton Garden is your quietly confident city escape." - Mr & Mrs Smith

Templeton Garden Hotel Review | Hotels Above Par

"Opened in April as a design-forward addition to Earl’s Court, this five-star hotel blends whimsical, storybook touches with approachable British sophistication. Set among classic Georgian façades, the property leans into a cozy, literary vibe—think a check-in desk that reads like a fireside nook, a lush courtyard straight out of The Secret Garden (where a ginger-and-white neighborhood cat stops by daily), and a sun-drenched lobby layered in sand, peach, olive, and dusty-rose tones. Interiors favor velvet and suede seating, while the 156 rooms channel English manor comfort with chic four-poster beds, mahogany writing desks, bronze animal coat hooks, and en suite bathrooms clad in glossy oxblood-red tile with both handheld and overhead rain showers. Rooms are stocked with Le Labo Santal 33 toiletries, a Nespresso machine, a tea kettle with handcrafted mugs, and a thoughtful care kit. Amenities include a fitness center, garden courtyard with seasonal activations, co-working spaces and a library lounge, and signature “Refresh Rooms” for arriving guests; the hotel sits a five-minute walk from Earl’s Court Station and positions itself as a tranquil, stylish base for exploring Kensington."

4.5*! Excellent choice if you need to be in this part of town! My mom and I were in a superior garden view room (without breakfast) and it was comfortable for our needs- tons of handing closet and storage space and the bed was comfortable. A few quirks - could never figure out the heating system (4 nights) and the light switches are reversed- down for on and up for off. Bathroom small but practical (tiny glass area to put things or otherwise over toilet) and good pressure and hot water after some fiddling. There are some cute animal head hooks in the space between bath and bed room. Appreciated the windows that open and the courtyard view (quiet except when people are talking outside) and the slippers. It was starting to get cool and windy (need a fall jacket and hat) and they provide umbrellas. Well appointed with sustainable toiletries and fridge and complimentary water, coffee, tea in the room. |Very close to grocery, restaurants, 17 mins walk to Kensington High Street, 2-3 blocks to earls court subway but we used Uber everywhere (eg $25 CAD to Royal Albert hall for a tour; $15 to Adria for well priced, quiet afternoon tea; V&A museum), almost $65 to Yopo at the Mandrake for dinner package deal with Dominion Theatre to watch Devil Wears Prada. |The breakfast (18.5 pound) continental buffet) had some nice inclusions, the vegan full English breakfast was just ok (compared to eg Apex Temple Court hotel); Dolci on earls court was better. ||Everyone here was courteous. I would definitely stay again if I needed to be in the area if the price is right as it is clean, fresh, new, contemporary and boutiquey, and has nice spaces to enjoy outside your room which a lot of hotels seem to be being adding. I’m sure it’s a 5* experience in the summer.

Had a great stay at Miiro Templeton Garden. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. The building offers a breakfast cafe, evening bar for quick bites, and a restaurant which is open at select times. The garden is relaxing and is a nice oasis from London offering a quiet retreat. The hotel is located a quick walk, less than 5 minutes, from Earls Court which offers easy access to the city and mainlines. Housekeeping cleaned daily and our room was always fresh.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. This is our second time at this hotel and we love the decor, location and friendly staff. Rooms are well appointed and cozy. Beds are also very comfortable. The subway station is just a few steps away. Quiet and safe neighborhood too. I highly recommend this hotel.

I really liked the overall vibe of the hotel — relaxed yet stylish. I stayed in a single room, which was a great size for one person, clean, and nicely designed. The toiletries provided (soap, shampoo, etc.) were surprisingly good quality, which I appreciated. The hotel also has a great bar — the atmosphere was welcoming and the bartenders were excellent. There's a lovely garden as well, perfect for sitting and unwinding, especially in the evenings. The only minor issue was the lighting system in the room, which I found a bit confusing at first. But honestly, it didn’t bother me much and didn’t take away from an otherwise very pleasant stay. Would definitely consider coming back!

Excellent hotel, the small details are lovely from le labo in the bathroom to glass water bottles this hotel was a lovely stay. Also, please note how friendly and wonderful the ladies at the front reception are! Clean and comfortable + the cocktails at sprout are AMAZING and the team there is so friendly! Especially the gentleman at the bar.

Loved it!!||It was warm , clean, beautiful room, bathroom, lobby, all the facilities for that matter and the large back garden to relax with a stunning creative drink from their bar ( highly recommend this) and on and on !! || We had originally booked at another hotel close by (loved the neighborhood ) and the rooms were dark and uncomfortable, so we looked around for another one and found Templeton Gardens. ||Upon entering the bright beautiful lobby we were welcomed by the manager Lucy and her bright welcoming tone and smile, and instantly knew this was the place and experience we were looking for in London.||I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone !!

Templeton Garden Hotel London: Serious issues not compatible with these other high scores||||The controls in the room are a disaster:||||1- Starting with the most important: the thermostat. You will NOT find the +/- controls without holding a flashlight to it. (One photo is with the light on- unreadable. The next photo with the faint +/- readable is with my phone flashlight on it.) Should I have to play with every “gesture” I can think of to try to make it work? NO. Is an explanation of how to use it offered in print- NO. Does the person who shows you to your room show you how it works- NO. Inexcusable.||||2- The light switches are all cutesy little toggles. Turn the light OFF- TAP the toggle UP (Really?). Dim the light- hold the toggle UP. Turn the light ON- tap DOWN. (Really?).||||3- Sit in bed at night reading, and if you don’t move much for around 20 minutes, the room lights will shut themselves off. Inexcusable.||||The breakfast is pathetic. Chocolate croissants, regular croissants, terrible little hard rolls, and no bread. Pastries- in your dreams. Cheese- in your dreams. Breakfast goes until 13:30. We were there at 9:30 three mornings. The croissants were all gone by that time on all three days. Do they seem to care- no. Inexcusable.||||Overall a very nice hotel with multiple fatal flaws in this price range.||||Worst of all, I spent the first night awake with the temperature control set all night at 17C (63F) (which I only got through multiple fumbles playing with the thermostat late at night) and broiled all night with non-functional cooling and nothing available for the bed but an arctic thickness down comforter. I complained loudly the next morning and demanded no charges for the night. They moved our room but refused to refund the night.||||And when I complained loudly about the other issues, nobody seemed to care either. I can’t recommend this hotel.

Superb, quiet location 1.5 blocks from Earl's Court Station for London Underground service and an easy 1 block walk to the nearest bus stop. Really pleasant staff throughout the location and speedy service by maintenance (when the safe in my room malfunctioned). The garden space with seating is lovely and the guys behind the bar have a way of making everyone feel at ease - elegant service, but not stuffy. I'd happily stay here again!
