12 Best Places to Eat and Drink in Frederick, Maryland | Eater DC

"Fresh, handmade pasta is the name of the game at this Italian joint. The crab and lobster ravioli is fabulous, as is the squid ink bucatini with a cornucopia of seafood. Of course, if nothing on the menu quite strikes your fancy, you could always have the kitchen whip up your personal masterpiece — just choose your pasta and sauce combination." - Lulu Chang

One of a kind experience. This little gem of Frederick has been on my list for quite a while and I was finally able to try it. We were very kindly greeted and welcomed from the moment we stepped in. The menu options are just right, gives enough to choose without being overwhelming. We were even shown how rigattonis were made, right there, fresh on the spot. Btw all the pasta they serve are made in that location, you can see and you can feel it's fresh. Reasonable price and very pleasant experience. * There's no water refill and no ice, you buy the bottle or a can of soda. * No customization - they say their dishes are the most authentic Italian cousine, and I believe it. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

I've had pasta in multiple places, and I have to say that this is one of the best in Maryland. The pasta was fresh and cooked to perfection. The sauce was just delicious. The place is small and street parking can be challenging but we are definitely going back. Would have loved an espresso, unfortunately they don't offer any kind of coffee. Oh and the tiramisu was really good.

The commitment to quality is clear from the moment you take your first bite of the tender, fresh pasta, made in-house every day. The Milanese delivered a perfect golden-brown crispness, with a seasoning that brought out the best in the cutlet. But the showstopper was the ravioli—silky little pillows bursting with flavor and bathed in a truly luscious cream sauce.

What a great local Italian spot! The owner was super friendly and welcoming, and you can tell how much pride he takes in his food. Everything’s made fresh with ingredients imported from Italy and recipes from his wife’s Italian family, truly authentic! We had the Ravioli Fritti with arrabbiata sauce and the Tavola charcuterie board to start, both so good. The gnocchi special with Bolognese cooked in Chianti was rich and full of flavor, and the chicken Milanese with fettuccine Pomodoro was excellent. Their homemade pasta really stands out. We finished with the Panna Cotta topped with mixed berries, the perfect ending. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared and yes, we definitely left with leftovers! Definitely a gem, can’t wait to go back!

Wow! This place is amazing. I’ve never had a better Arabiatta sauce. The pasta was perfect, the owner was very kind and taught us about the pasta he makes. Loved the food so much I went in the next day for take out. If you haven’t been, treat yourself!

We stumbled upon this hidden gem of an Italian restaurant in Frederick. It completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like family. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Every detail on the menu speaks to tradition and authenticity. The dishes are crafted from cherished Italian family recipes. You can truly taste the love and heritage behind every bite. The quality of the food is outstanding. Each ingredient is incredibly fresh, and the homemade pasta is a standout. We ordered three different dishes, and each one was absolutely delicious. Rich in flavor. Beautifully presented. Cooked to perfection. Our server, Harold, was exceptional. He was attentive, kind, and genuinely cared about making our experience memorable. It was my wife’s birthday, and thanks to Harold and the wonderful team, we had a fantastic lunch celebration. Behind each dish is a story. A connection to the Tempo family’s roots. You can feel that passion from the kitchen to the table. Thank you to the Tempo family for such a warm and unforgettable experience. We will definitely be coming back. And bringing friends.
