The Best Food on New Orleans’s Canal Street | Eater New Orleans

"Tempt is the breakfast, lunch and dinner joint in the sassy Saint Hotel, a handsome space facing Canal Street. The menu is kind of funny — everything is “wicked”; “sexy”; or an “aphrodisiac.” The burgers and sandwiches are tasty and the variety — from shrimp and grits to boudin balls and salads — gets the job done." - Beth D’Addono

Tempt is inside The Saint Hotel. We are staying at the hotel and decided to eat here twice. Once for lunch and once for breakfast. Both times there was no wait to be seated. Lunch was very good. For breakfast they have a buffet. The food was good. Prime rib had a very good seasoning. Biscuits and gravy were also good, but I prefer a sausage gravy. Overall it was a good experience and I would come back to eat here again.

The Tempt Eggs Benedict was a very unique and delicious plate. The regular scrambled eggs were poorly made and not up to standard for what the restaurant is. Atmosphere is nice and service was good.

Food was delicious! We were staying at the hotel and decided to enjoy a few drinks our first day. We had such a great experience, we decided to have brunch there the second day. We were not disappointed. Not only was the food great but the costumer service is outstanding. Best shrimp and grits we’ve ever had! Will definitely be coming again when in town.

Had breakfast here during our stay. The food was PERFECT. The service was the best as well. Leah (I think that is her name) was so friendly and helpful. We chatted my whole meal and I got a lot of great tips on places to see in NOLA. Unfortunately, it closes at 2p due to COVID so we plan to eat there a 2nd day to try the gumbo. Bloody Mary's are "one of the best I've ever had and wonderfully spicy" in the words of my husband.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE their food! Atmosphere... staff.... everything. Chicken and Waffle cone... perfect.... Shrimp and grits.... perfect! I even ordered take out when I was checking out. My daughter LOVED IT. Since I’m local I will be making my way back! I have so much more to try.

I have eaten 3 meals here and each experience was wonderful! The food was EXCELLENT! But it was the staff that blew me away! From the servers, the evening chef Darrell and the manager Lea, I was impressed with how friendly, helpful and genuine everyone was! Especially with how hectic Mardi Gras is. I will absolutely eat here the next time I'm in New Orleans! Thank y'all so very much for being part of the reason my vacation will always be one of my best memories!

Ordered the Voodoo Omelette and crawfish nachos. The food was delicious, the atmosphere made you feel like the main character in a 1920's movie and the waitress was amazing. We will be eating all of our breakfasts here for the rest of our trip!

NO WAIT! Excellent food and great service. We found the Temp during a walk down canal street. We had just signed up for Ruby Slippers and had a one hour wait to be served. The coffee was delicious. I have a food allergy (Celic Sprue) and needed to eat gluten free. The waitress brought Lea, the food manager. Lea was great! She quickly told me what I could eat and talked to the chef. My husband and I had a delicious spinach and goat cheese omelette with crispy potatoes. The omelette was so fluffy! We returned the next day and again ate very well.
