Tempura Tarojiro

I say this is the best tempura I have ever had. I cannot possibly pick one flaw in this meal. The staff were friendly. The chef was always smiling. You can taste the original flavor of each kind of food. I ate 2 rounds.

Came here for dinner and found the food is delicious and the staff is friendly. I barely smell the food cooking/frying which is a plus and the master chef was deep frying right in front of us as we sat at the counter. We ordered twice because we couldn’t get enough. I highly recommend it.

Love it!! Was searching for a tempura place and this did not disappoint! Was enjoying the tempura so much. It was tasty, crispy and fluffy. Order in small batches so the batter will still be crispy. The service is really quick so it will not take too long for your food to arrive. Must try the soft boiled egg, avocado and shrimp. The ikura eggs were really worth it too!

Love this place, great food, good Sake, very friendly staff, good atmosphere! Definitely come back again. One of my favourite restaurants in Osaka !

The tempura was super delicious . The light and fluffy crust and the chef good control of the oil temperature was perfect. Every piece of tempura is like a master piece. I love the huge oyster .. cover with the light crust and inside was juicy n fresh. The mix vegetables was very addictive we reorder . The Japanese yam was another item that I have second serving . The seafood was fresh . The shop is very small go early to get better seats .

AVOID ‼️ For foreigners, this place is discriminatory in their service and we got overcharged as all the other 1 star reviews have said (PLEASE take a photo of your order slip if you still want to order here so that you can get your money back) Our experience: 1. We saw there was a lunch set but upon coming in, the waiter saw me google translating the lunch set menu and passed me the english menu which notably does not have the lunch set. 2. We still called him over later on to ask if the lunch set was available by pointing to the Japanese menu but he was off putting in his service, trying to act confused but we insisted on ordering 1 lunch set anyways (note, at this point I didn’t think much of his attitude and attributed it to the language barrier) 3. We added on a rice and miso soup set, but our miso soup was not served and when asked for it, the waiter acted like we were ordering it and asked “how many?”, and proceeded to not serve it till much later though he apologised 4. The one that pisses me off the most is no doubt the overcharged bill, receipt was given with no items mentioned, the math didn’t add up even considering the 10% consumption tax. Ended up paying 7000 yen more 5. We witnessed how Japanese costumers were served first despite arriving significantly later This is NOT how you do business and treat foreigners, really the first I have ever seen in Japan. The food is NOT worth being treated as such.

9D8N Osaka Kobe Kyoto Trip. We ate in this restaurant for 3 Nights? Why... 1. Tempura perfectly fried 2. You don't feel bloated after 10-15 pieces 3. Sake is perfect combination 4. Smoking allowed 5. Friendly staffs Thank you for this experience.

Overall it’s a really nice tempura place with great service. Would recommend coming here if you’re in the area. It has a chill ambiance and cosy vibe to hang out.

Date of visit: 11/27/2024 So yum! I was seated at the bar and therefore was able to see my order being prepared by the owner/the chef; a very kind and cool gentleman. You can order per item and build your own tempura bowl, which is what I did, instead of ordering the set. I like everything that I ordered except for the yam. I took a bite and somehow it tasted like something else and not yam haha. Highly recommended if you are happened to be in Osaka. They close at midnight and I was literally their last customer that day lol!

A bit confusing how to get in line here but the ambience and food are as authentic as can be. Majority of the customers are Japanese locals having a dinner and drinks. We basically stood outside for a bit before a guy came out to ask for our party size. This place was packed everytime we walked by. We ended up waiting for like 30 minutes before a table open up. The inside is small but full of energy. Tables are as side by side as can be. The guy in the center seems to really enjoy making tempuras which is their specialty here. They have English menu as well. You ticked off a few things for the tempura on a sheet of paper and hand it to a guy so they can be made to order. We got a whole selection of seafood and vegetables; all were tasty and fresh but I wished the batter was crispier. What I liked best from here was actually their Sashimis which were sooo fresh and delicious. Definitley a good spot with good atmosphere for an evening drink.

Amazing tempura place! Largest selection of fish I've seen for tempura! And the most amazing part is that the chef cooks it in the middle of the bar area. So if you sit at the bar (which is 80% of the place) you can enjoy your food being cooked. Amazing!

We have been to Osaka two times in the last two years and this is one of our favorite places to eat. The shrimp is huge and the Kobe beef tempura is to die for.
