The moment I touch down Haneda, I will head straight to this little gem. I'm so happy to see the 84yo is still serving up the best tempura in Tokyo. It has the most delicate batter and it's almost like a private dining atmosphere. Cash only

We ordered tempura set and it was cooked beautifully 🙂‍↕️ The owner was kind and friendly. Gave me an extra veggie tempura. Im glad that they understand English language. The place is homey and pleasing too.

Randomly walked in to this place, incredibly good. Owner and staffs were super friendly and accommodating to my 5 year old. Service was top notch.

An old style restaurant with focus on making tempura donburi and sets. What a hidden gem! The owner is friendly and we learned that he opened this store 54 years ago. He carefully plated the tempura bowl in front of you. Nice presentation and delicious Tendon!

was in the area and chanced upon this gem. tempura is impeccable. just read other reviews and you’ll know. see the tempura battered and fried in front of you. comes to you piping hot and well presented. the tempura is really delicious, the batter is really light and crispy. ingredients fresh. of cos there’re a lot of tempura restaurants in tokyo and a lot of really good ones as well. this one probably ranks right up there.

This is great restaurant to ease yourself into authentic Japanese cuisine. We stumbled upon this hidden tempura restaurant and we’re glad we did. The lunch menu has two choices, tendon set and tempura set. We each tried one set... and both were delicious. The clientele looked like a mix of expats and old Japanese customers who want to enjoy a traditional meal. The prices were a little higher than the average lunch menu. However the food and traditional were worth it. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area and ready to enjoy a traditional Japanese meal.

This was the best tempura we have had yet. My only regret is not finding this place earlier. As another reviewer pointed out this place is unassuming and you wouldn't notice it unless it was a pure accident (waiting at the corner for the traffic light, in our case) or you have been told to look for it. Two options only for lunch: tempura set or tempura donburi set. We got one of each. Most notably, the donburi had an expertly light touch of sauce so that the quality of the tempura breading seasoning and ingredients shine; no additional seasoning is necessary! For the tempura set, 4 salts choices (Himalayan pink, French gray, Mexican, and Japanese) are available at the table. I also appreciated that the kakiage had a wonderful taste of onion without itself being too full of onion filler. It was simply there to enhance the squid, shrimp, and other contents. While the cost is relatively high for a lunch (2500/3000 JPY), it was definitely worth it!

One the best tempura in Tokyo. Extremely good value too! Batter is extremely light yet crispy. You can order extra add on once you finish. Small sitting area so be sure to be there early!
